Then focus on the meta of the dungeons. What can you kick, what can you stop, where can you Los. What’s important to kick vs what’s ok to let go.

Basically, all secondaries are close enough defensively that differences are negligible. In addition, defensive strength is dictated almost entirely by damage profiles, as well. Things like parry become useless if literally 100% of incoming damage can't be parried, for example. As such, you can't really super optimize for tankiness too generally, since it heavily depends on how and when damage is coming in, which is determined not only by the encounter/dungeon, but by your comp, play, etc

They all have good defensive effects for us, so you might as well sim for any non-unique gear slots (Mostly trinkets in the defensive end, like Nim mentioned). You can't even really go wrong by just throwing in highest ilvl
