You can fairly efficent reduce button bloat and complexity, not to mention APM requirements if you are in a situation where it is necessary.

If the mob even has two schools, it can just cast the other school. Mobs usually aren't allowed to have more than one school, or the spells are spaced enough CD wise that it generally just won't happen, but it technically could happen

You still don't have to do advanced calculus or anything to play Colo. It's still the same decision making framework. If you'll overcap on rage, send IP. If not, don't send.

It just means you press it less, since you make the passive gained IP from Outburst and fills with Brutal Vit go further, and each IP press gives more, leaving more time for Brutal Vit

You get more value from leech, as well, due to doing more damage

Anything after that survival wise is just defensives and managing your interrupts. If you don't trust the group to interrupt, you pull what you can personally control, which is a lot between Pummel, Storm Bolt, Shock Wave, and Shield Charge alone. You can add on Int Shout and Disrupting Shout if you want, as well

hey guys whats the play against the worm adds in DFC before last boss? their stacking dot is crazy and cant cc them and can barely kite them to drop it

Two things to note on them is that they get a stacking damage buff when near corpses

So you'll need to move them away; that's separate from the dot

overall the answer really is to just keep them away from dead things and leap out when necessary

The Creepers with dots are specifically one of two of Prot's main weaknesses, which are bleeds and magic damage rot.

We're good with bursts of magic damage, thanks to SR reduction/SW. Spell Block is amazing if it's allowed to work.

We're less good at like, stacking magic dot type mechanics or magic damage that lasts longer than our CDs

And Bleeds are effectively the same thing as magic in that regard; it's just phys damage instead

Most base talent recommendations don't pick it up, since Thane struggles to get the point for it (It's on the same section as Thunderlord, which has massive offensive and defensive value for Thane) and Colo users generally prefer to just maximize their damage/don't find a need for it.

It is a fast cast and has to be hard stopped, not interrupted,

so you can always just try to semi-kite if it gets rough

But for most keys, it's often a case of having your DPS kill them before it's an issue

meaning it wont be in sword mode most of the time

bloodmallet is a decent tool just keep in mind that it can both sim bait and sim trap

Haven't actually played MT yet this season, but whenever I'm on a dps alt and pug into a group with a prot war, they run MT, and they do like no damage, like rend was there 2nd highest damage after SS.
