but its cool
We don’t have the globals to really play it
I’ve been a big RJW fan in the past
But I’m prob dropping it in real content
Especially because we get a big keg smash cpm increase with tier
here's a breakdown of a 3:30 rare elite (as shado pan)
RJW doing 3% is pretty smoge
i was barely able to keep 60% uptime

and frankly
i shouldve cast chi burst 3 more times
but its not yet ingrained into me
so subtract like 20% of rjw's dmg and double chi burst's
for what it shouldve been

Not a good button
Maintenance buff aoe button just doesn’t feel good imo
The change they did for WW for RJW was a much better direction to take that ability
id really like to see it implemented as a combo for SCK and removing the purifying brew combo
I’d just like to see SCK be a button worth pressing

sck is for on-pull aggro basically
Yeah I just use it between packs when I’m moving to double or triple pull etc
Been really enjoying brew though
Is very fun
The other hero talent ye?
shado pan seems so much better for current content
Shado pan just omegalul
Randomly jump to like 3m DPS at the start of a pack because you proc’d

I messed with MoH on beta
Seems cool, but all my playing it was on WW
watching your 10 procs get eaten with the last attack on a pack
True tho
It does kinda feel bad though
Because like outside of the proc your damage profile really slows down
for moh or shado
Pressing a button and having a burst of damage feels a lot different than randomly (I know it’s not actually random but not worth tracking) having a passive burst happen
I mean it’s not nothing
It was your 5th damage done in that
yeah but its also buffing tiger palm, keg smash, and bok by way of passive increases
in other news
i think we need to brutally murder the foot fetishists brought out into the public light this xpac
thoughts?
Thank you!
Hey all, i have 8 pieces 493 Tier set from DF. at what point should I start replacing the pieces?
is shield block hasted? wondering if the 8% haste talent is better than the block extension talent from shield slam
Is there a new IP tracker WA? The old one is broken
Edit: Found one: https://wago.io/HJbdun3yN
we don't kink shame, but we do silently judge...
i kink shame loudly
can someone help me understand why the colossus M+ build uses Show of Force but the Thane one doesn't? It seems like a pretty important talent to me
Hi friends noob to tanking and prot. Lots of video guides over watched days shield block can be up all the time in fights but there definitely comes a time where it’s off and the charge is on cd
because colossus emphasis on your revenge.
if deep wounds is 10% of my damage, isn't that better than brutal vitality? since u can overcap ignore pain and thus waste the talent point, especially in aoe, but fueled by violance would always work. And that works at about 11% life leech from fueled by violence, whereas brutal vitality is like 10%, but split in half
i am still in the dungeon levelling process, but i find myself having too much rage and overcapping ignore pain, so surely brutal vitality is not taken?
yep it can very well be, with the correct talents and correct play
But doesn't thane focus on thunderclaps, making the buff more valuable?
yes it does but as thane u barely press revenge
so show of force doesnt do much for u
and because u press TC far more is makes TLs an insane talent to take for dr and rage gen
Sorry, TLs?
thunderlords
why not both? Is ravager that important?
yes
anyone has the questline bug ?
You mean while leveling or as a fresh level 80? People on beta had much higher ilvl than you do now and haste levels.
Yes haste talent is better but u need a certain amount of haste first to use it otherwise you will have gaps in your SB which probably means death
Not sure how much is it for tww but for reference u needed 5400 in df at the very least
wait, so if gaps in shield block is death, is there any harm to just spamming it on cd in aoe?
There’s not unless its a niche situation like pack is almost dead and u need it for another pack obv
Its not like demon spikes which unless you play LR have to use as a defensive, its something that you have to have as close as possible to 100% uptime (and well 100% blocked hits but yeah)
Hi everyone! Does anyone know if Colossal Might is bugged? Maybe I'm missing it, but I do not seem to get a stack when Revenge damages 3 targets
haha u say that, but i was running the 100% spikes uptime build instead of fire brand spread
made it much safer
Refresh my memory from the beta channel - isn't Thane pretty much on par with Colossus for single target, with Colossus only pulling ahead in aoe when you can safely dump rage into revenge spamming?
Does Thunder Clap go up in priority if it's a Thunder Blast proc ?
So "without a Violent Outburst proc, no."
correct
TC does not move above SS in priority
outside if generating threat
on pull
👍
Found the answer, hopefully this helps someone 🙂
yeah i figured that was it
Does the wowhead prio list not mention thunder blast without violent outbursts procs at all or am I blind?
Looking at the above screenshots
correct
cuz it doesnt change anything in priority
i might expand it in the future to properly explain the prio for TB in aoe
but this made it for now alot less cluttered
Think it would on only confuse people when it doesn’t show on the list at all
it doesnt take prio tho
only on 2 charges
like youre not making a mistake
by sending SS on Cd
Nome - during your testing, thane was pretty much even with colossus on single target damage wasn't it?
is storm shield bugged? did a search didn't see much. When i was testing with it, it only puts a 30k shield which makes it seem like its on base armor not total armor
may also be a tooltip error
ye
Looking at some logs of say the first pull in SV.
1 TB with Avatar and no demo shout is abt 3.3m damage overall and 1 SS is abt 310k damage. You saying the SS rage gains will make up the different in priority?
the TB isnt going anywhere
after your SS
you know that ye=?
and youre not getting TB procs from TB
but from SS
🙂
say you get multiple SS procs though if you keep holding the TB you can hold it a long time
Cool, and on single target, non-outrage TB only takes prio over SS when sitting on two charges, correct? Or is the potential of getting the two bonus SS not worth missing out on a SS cast in the moment?
on ST outburst takes turbo prio on SS
fish for it witrh revenge if you can
even over TB
but its not as detrimental
to send outburst on TB on ST
compared to TC
I mean non-outburst
Even on 2 stacks, right?
no
you wanna weave between 2 charges
if you have 2 charges on any of the abilities
ye ill write that down later
That's what I wanted to be sure of
feels so messed up when you see multiple charges of SS and SS is on CD without getting any reset procs for seconds
When I was playing that's what made sense to me if we're trying to maximize room for charges, just wanted to be sure I wasn't adding unnecessary nuance if it was still supposed to be "send SS if it's up, nomatter what"
also TB stacks can add up fast lol
so you make use of atleast 1 charge
in case of proc
Yeah, I'm gonna make a wa to track my stacks for sure then.
all you have to do it show stacks on the icons
Also an option
thats what my pack does
Am I missing something or is there a particular reason we use CS as Mountain thane now?
CS?
champion's spear
cuz it does better
as thane
than roar
they buffed spear and nerfed roar
if you didnt know
I think as of prepatch, we were only sticking with roar because of tier
^
Not sure I "like" spear more, but it's nice to have something different now and then
alright cheers. Why is TR still the choice for colossus?
cuz it interacts with the bleeds and dmg amps of colossus more
as is explained on my hero talent page on wowhead

Book of Nomeratur, chapter 3, verses 1-18
cheers
god I know it was updated a while ago, but I still hate the new spear appearance. Looks like a muddy puddle on the floor :c
Was there any guidance about when to drop the DF S4 tier sets?
which darkmoon deck would be the best for us atm?
ascension
Why do so many peoples weakauras have fractional numbers for their positioning and sizes??
can someone explain
Only nerf was to initial hit thats its not uncapped anymore no?
sometimes you get 2px borders
and TW
Yeah, because people are using fractional scaling on their entire UI
or the WA group
Tw was so fucking powerful
Idk how much it does now
But used to be like 12% in sims
For 1 talent point
2px/missing border is caused by having fractions somewhere
Or maybe that was when I checked aoe, no clue - still hella strong
and since elvui fixed the issue with their scaling, these WAs just don't work for me without me going through and fixing all the numbers :^(

WHAT
Nope it doesn't
But what's your UI scale in your graphics settings or elvui?
and what resolution are you on?
1440p
If you do /run print(GetScreenWidth(), "x", GetScreenHeight())
and it's two integers
then it's fine and you don't need subpixel sizes on your auras
yeah
see that's why you have to do that
yeah
I scale .53 and just size everything manually

elvui had some issue with the auto scale iirc but they fixed it
now using auto at 1440p sets you to 0.533333 or whatever
I can't stand knowing that my game is scaling in a way that I have to use weird subpixel sizes on everything to avoid 2px borders
spent ages fixing this back in S1 of df lmao
4k60 and above is REALLY taxing for any computer that doesnt have like 4080
depending on age of game ofc
Wowhead guide says MT outshines Colossus in M+, any idea around what key level Colossus will drop off? Really enjoying it in the reg dungeons so far, wondering how high I could push it.
It's not about drop off it's just MT just so much easier to play
let me find the quote from the beta channel where nome said 'tried colossus and got railed in NW'
but you have alot less rage to work with
tbf it was the literal first key i did with it
like 1st beta key ever
i had at least a 500k SS at one point questing in the campaign
was like 557k and change with thane
so, ya
Means you will have to perfectly play with your rage spent and generation, one wrong move can really cost you something compared to Thane which is nice in rage generation, so you can make slight mistake and not really feel it.
I set up both, but Demolish is a really fun ability (when it works)
that and i was like lvl 78 79 with shit questing greens and mostly 489 DF s4 epics
so, thane seems really busted lol
Yeah, thane is kind of crazy
also if you were like me and had no clue then there is a portal in Dornogal to the southern most zone and back!
that and dual cast storm bolt
i love dual storm bolt so much
i ended up not like demolish as much as i found that you get like 1 or 2 of the hits off and not the big one
Hey, quick question, if you get an avatar of the storm avatar proc and then press avatar do you extend or override duration?
and you deal essentially same dmg which is essentially rng proc, easier to get, works with SS which gains rage, fits into the machine
i think thane ultimately winner
i want to try demolish with raid buffs as dps tho
Is barbaric training worthwile over sidearm with all the other revenge buffs piled on from colossus or does it just exacerbate the rage starvation issues of colossus too much? I don't see it listed on the colossus build next to the other like 4-5 revenge buffs or whatever
the extra rage cost for revenge is absurdly bad
evil
Override
iirc
Yea I would have assumed so, ty
Cuz the manual avatar cast also resets TC and grants TB
Whereas the random proc does not do these things
yep, just overwrites it
do we just bin the 4set and get 564 greens?
Yeah I've been considering changing the frame sizes/positions
Okay im at fresh 80 and having a hard time keeping 100%
dont worry about it
hello, as someone who have only played dps but wanted to try tanking, is prot warrior ok in TWW? tried setting it but damn it does have too many buttons
In my experience as a casual player you can get pretty far with prot warrior simply by focusing on maintaining a constant shield block uptime. The pins have more in depth information but that's what I worked on first.
yeah im trying to get it used to, also heard is one of the most APM heavy specs, according to this report https://simulationcraft.org/reports/DF4_Raid.html (yeah i know, is for dragonflight, but i dont feel it changed that much in TWW)
no wonder why i feel like im playing on steroids, im a destro warlock main, not used to the speed xD
you linked DF S4 not TWW but sure pwar is probably abt around 80-90 apm at max gear in keys
would be less in raid
well in simulationcraft there is a TWW report, but its not complete/reliable yet because it has partial beta data
im thinking in just going the noob but reliable spec, sigh
I've never been able to enjoy anything slower than fury warrior.
As a relatively new tank as well - I gave up trying to tryhard understand the theory and just made sure i understood the basics and am learning as i go
There's so much information that looks to targeted at "if you want to do 1% M+, do this everywhere" that I basically got overwhelmed
And so far i just love smashing people in the face with a shield and lightning. Simple pleasures!
i get the basics at least: "keep shield block up, spam shield bash and revenge, use ignore pain when expecting ouchie" i guess i have to track a lot of cooldows xD
going to run a few heroics, well i dont have early access so not much else to do, m+ at this point feel pointless xD
Change that to IP to avoid capping rage and you have the basics other than send CDs on CD
haha, I'm not saying it's not valuble, and I don't fully understand it but there's alot to be said about 'getting a feel for things'. I'd say i've vastly improved since I just understood my skills by reading them, getting a decent keybind set (and sticking to it) and asking pointed questions as I go.
It makes me appreciate the tanks more though, as a dps the only thing i care is if my offensive cds are on and how to aoe, as a destro is usually a binary choice of rain of fire or chaos bolt
I guess my point is that i gave up being kicking myself if I didn't notice i was rage capped for 0.5 seconds as that's 'the done thing' by spamming IP/Revenge depending on the situation. I'm of course wrong and shouldn't be rage capping but it kinda put me off reading guides etc saying "You need to do this at this point, and don't do this as this point".
For sure, I love it so far even though it's hard work. The anxiety of being the 'defacto' leader of a group is something I don't think DPS appreciate much.
My biggest challenge tbh is the visual element - Trying to squeeze in everything i need to see at once whilst also actually enjoying watching the game. Using mostly default UI with a few WAs i made to track CD's.
The next step is learning boss mechanics and when to use interupts.
it's quite simply when you boil down the basic rotation, hit SS then TC when SS is on CD. You press IP to avoid capping rage and if both SS and TC are on CD you press revenge to try and get SS resets.
always keep SB up in the background
all the rest can be added after
Yeh, I was a fool to think that running some normals in early access would let me get a feel for the dungeons ahead of heroic etc release. Having DPS chain pull from boss 1 to boss 2 wasn't quite what i expected so soon 😄
Didn't really want to sit and watch Quazii videos on the dungeons and learn in-game
if you are talking about dungeons while leveling people are just speed running them for xp
dont worry about any mechanics
pull big onto bosses and do damage
you can ignore and stand in everything
It's the classic tank and spank except the tank isn't needed because the dungeons are so easy.
im trying to fit my keybinds in a confortable way i guess:
1-4 (Shield Slam, Revenge, Shield Block, Thunder Clap)
Shift+(1-4), Charge/Intervene macro, Avatar+Shield Charge, Spear or Roar macro, Revenger macro
Ctrl+(1-5), Shield wall, Spell Block, Rallying Cry, Last Stand, (Potions)
R and SR - Taunt and Challenging Roar
E and SE - Execute and Impending Victory
Q and SQ - Pummel and Storm Bolt
F - Spell Reflection
T - Trinket
Mouse 4 and 5 (my mouse have 2 buttons) - Demoralizing Shout and IP/SS Macro
got damn it so many buttons, and i already merged a few ones
im not sure what to put on the mouse buttons though
whatever works for you 🤷♂️
If you want a couple extra buttons I recommend trying out movement on ESDF instead of WASD
That's mine - I'm using a razer naga so ALT+ is the mouse 1-6 side buttons. Again - I'm not expert but works for me
I use R etc as rotational too as they're just off WASD
everyone has their own keybinds that work for them so do whatever you feel like
i guess im trying to make it work like that because i usually use 1-5 as rotation, shift+ for offensives and ctrl+ for defensives CD. Reactive spells i move to letters, Q E R T and F, with Shift and Ctrl as needed.
Oh forgot two more buttons, C-E for Heroic Throw and C-R for Heroic Leap
I tried bundling categories together but found i would use some from a category more often than others so i just put things i use most - easiest to get to and generally structured it so almost every keybind is within easy-ish reach. More difficult ones are things like S+T, A+5,A+6 (purely because the button location on the naga is kinda awkward for the thumb
Is there a rule of thumb for when to press IP? I feel like I'm rage starving myself by spamming it too much, but then again it does give me CDR on my big abilities right?
I also tried WA packs, but it just cluttered my UI so i moved the entire action bar set up to the middle instead of having 2 sets of buttons on the UI
I like the concept of the WA profiles, but found using the standard bars + some WAs i created to track the things i cared about more useful (Mainly i have the cooldowns just off left of my char which glow when available and in combat)
champions spear, avatar, ravager etc.
to avoid capping rage
Yeah I'm kind of just sending when I can so starving myself
I'll use it to avoid capping ty
i for one prefer using WA's, if i set it up correctly i dont even have to look at the actions bars and the WA have the info i need, i do use other wa's to track stuff outside of the class WA
also keeping it as close to the middle too so i can always have it at eye-level
here is what I track
bars dont show what they do out of combat, here is in combat
Hello Guys, Anyone know if New race will be the best for protection?
it won't
I’ve already seen a lot of prot warriors out in the wild
Idk if it’s the same effect as when you buy a new vehicle and then see it everywhere or something else
Was always going to play prot warrior but it feels strongk
its early access, nothing to do but level
most people then level all tanks
so you would see everything
the people who play tanks, not random dps
also you might have dps warrior mains leveling in dungeons as prot for faster queues
wow roar is going bye bye in m+?
for MT
I did get told that the reason we run spear had to do with the mountain thane hero tree but I couldn't see anything specific about spear in there.
pretty cool have not used spear since when it was relevant
Will ppl go thane for mplus probably?
yes
It's a lot easier than colossus in m+
Much more rage gen = more IP spam + cooldown cycling due to rage economy.
Also things like TB giving you 8% dr from mobs hit by it, and TB is fairly common.
Thunder Blast
Aha
Colossus is cool as hell, but it's geared almost entirely towards offense
And really mainly pulls ahead in aoe when you can spam revenge, which in all but trivial content is the exact WRONG way to play current-era prot war
If we had big sexy Ignore Pains like in the Legion era it might be a different matter, but with IP being a rage dump that we kind of spam, Mountain Thane plays into that playstyle perfectly compared to Colossus
Ye mountain thane don't seem to swap our gameplay much? Or maybe I missed smt. Haven't play yet
it's pretty similar
It doesn't change it much at all
You run spear now instead of roar, and Thunder Blast procs can alter your prio a but depending on single target or aoe, outrage procs and TB stacks, but for the most part it's the same
Like, it takes more effort to read what I just wrote than to get used to the thane rotation lol
You just feel 100x times more badass doing it than you did in Dragonflight
XD sounds good. Considering main tank this season.
It's a good choice
sending thunder blasts in AOE is a goooood feeling
I dropped paladin for warrior this expansion and I haven't regretted it for even a moment
extremely satisfying when you hit hit TB into SS reset + 2 free SS
When I level my pally, it'll be for healing
just absolutely slamming
Outrage-boosted TB into half a dozen mobs is just the best lol
Tb is just tc that has procced?
outburst
All TC modifiers apply to TB as well
the node just above it boosts tc by 40%
etc
well I guess thats the 40% mentioned in that tooltip
also feels real good for seismic to affect tc
Yep, my bad
Autocorrect gonna have to learn a lesson on that one
Guys do you level on proc or fury/arms?
leveled on prot, it was fine
If you wanna dungeon spam to level then prot is insta queues. If you are doing the storyline it doesn’t matter.
Why does the WoWhead Raid Colossus build take Earthquaker but doesnt take Shockwave? That an oversight? https://www.wowhead.com/guide/classes/warrior/protection/talent-builds-pve-tank
Both talents affect shockwave
You don’t need shockwave in raid
You have to take one
You can also run the intervene shield without the intervene talent as MT if you don’t want stormbolt to have an increased CD.
Doing side quests with my tank alt, no sure if its faster proc or dps
if you're looking for speed, spam queue dungeons as prot
otherwise just do whatever, it's gonna be about the same
sad for this though, I wish that talent spot is more into general design rather than super spesific like that
Perfect
Terrible design IMO.
well it is not your opinion it's sadly a fact T_T
I think we all agree the shield is just too small and then the increase CD on stormbolt is just bad.
The hero trees in general are very...underwhelming.
i was hoping ther shield thing was a solid 20% of someone's hp
because that not too big, but just big enough to supplmenent 1 shots
right now with my napkin math, it looked to be like a power word:shield, which just incredibly low
10% hp is equivalent to a power word: shield, and u never saw priests shielding someone to save for a 1 shot. the reason is that the value is too low to consider.
with 20%, it feels like it is possible to forgo a defensive usage and get the shield, but with 10%, it is still using a defensive WHILE not living, which is rare
and also the opportunity cost of 1 point, and also the fact the warrior wastes 2-3 gcds
i think people would rather get a stronger shield on a longer cd, than a weaker shield on a 30s cd, cause that is not fun for the warrior, and it is not fun for anyone to rely on a 10% warrior shield
Can be with the use of a defensive if they are low before a hit
Can be many useful cases
Also a random hero talent shouldn’t exactly be a super strong external
no doubt it is useful, but imo it just isnt a fun talent for both parties. It is equivalent to a brewmaster monk using vivify on a person that is not topped off before a boss mechanic
outside of monk healer, we didnt have monk back in tbc and wrath.....
maybe it scales with vers/crit so it isnt that bad
wdym
they shielded themselves
to prevent a oneshot
on every single mechanic
i mean shielding ANOTHER person
bc they had to sue it on themselves
it doesnt feel good to give something that weak to someone else
especially if it costs 2-3 gcds and 1 talent point
for priests they could do it FOR FREE, and they still never shielded others
ppl on voice would talk about "poop shield" earth sheild, and ppl LOVED being inside priest power word shield in 2004 vanilla, then there was the big bubble vroom meme that turned into a meta for em
and we use to compare healers and the druids and paladins and such would get mad at the healers that could bubble them up
monk one is pretty great too,
i suppose thats like 9% of someone's hp?
idk, but just thinking about having use intervene 5 times in 1 boss fight makes me feel weird about it. Would really prefer it to be like 1 mil shield on even triple the cooldown, so it feels better to press
Mage has abt 5.8m hp
That’s first boss in NW even without the shield you completely negate the frontal by intervening whoever is targeted.
Was more to show the shield strength at 626 ilvl
Hey stupid question time..... anyone else see this every so often?
the pruple outline thing
I think there's a trinket that does something like that
Pretty sure it’s a trinket yes
thank you, it has to be this then.
I hate it
if you and the other person hating it are both wearing that trinket, it sounds likely (or just unequip and see if it stops proccing). but yea I think that's it
I had it for a short bit leveling and noticed that also
Is there anything worth spending resonant crystals on? The items seems really poor for us?
What would i be spending it on later?
thanks! just what i needed
is there only one chest up? cant see the second one
is there a weakaura that tells us when we can reflect high damaging abilities for m+?
there is one on wago based on the reflect sheet in the pins
so like during the cast bar a sound or cast bar appears of the high damaging spell
Quazii has this one linke in one of his recent videos: https://wago.io/pjl-p3su9
BETA <<<<<<<<< Original WA: https://wago.io/IkerOKywU Tells yo
havent tested it
are mana oils our BIS weapon enchantments or is that still in the air?
Thanks
there are weapon enchants that give primary & secondary stat procs also, probably sim for less but give a defensive bonus not given by the depths enchant
Any of the Darkmoon decks worth getting? 577 ilvl and cost like 900g 😛
if you need ilvl to be able to queue for heroic dungeons tomorrow sure
If they have main stat, then probably just because why not
Not often you see boe trinkets for 900g XD
@strong forum did you test the 'Authority of Air' proc chance?
I assume its abysmal
How come we're using crit flasks instead of haste ones 🤔
its a random secondary
What ilvl do I need to queue for those?
cause its a lot more than the other one
the alternative one is crit specific
think its 564 ish
Okay, thanks!
didnt test, no
3ppm
Isn't that the shield one though
air is an absorb, no damage
not secondary
ah
yeah
yeah lmao
I am sure for pure damage
i wouldnt even look at defensive enchants
I was thinking the haste proc enchant though
how much main stat did it give vs the secondary ones, is it the same?
its 1.6k mainstat + a few thousand dps
Is this the one you're thinking of Alyrion?
its 2230 main stat vs 3910 secondary stats
Yeah it's 2ppm
I am sure for pure dps that is correct, I would probably prefer something that gives me a bit of both
for m+ id just send radiant
and for raid depths
or just stick with depths
cuz optimising enchants for defense is a bit of a meme honestly
that absorb enchant if its 3 ppm is 20k hps lol
wowee
Don't DPS have like
20k hps out of 500k+
6 mil hp
as prot i have like 6.1mil rn
first pull in NW you do like 1m hps as pwar 🙂
im talking overall
Yeah, so 20k would be like a 2% increase
like im just trying to illustrate
or 02%
around 400k hps overall (active)
idk
how pointless that random absorb is
math be mathin
simming 5t 5min rq
That's right, you do the hard work, you're the TC
and if it was gonna be better, aoe is where it would be
whatever storms is
for pure dam
right
right
if it was just about the damage it would just be the shadow proc
lets not pretend that 3% mainstat is gonna make you suddenly tankier
but realistically, any defensive "proc" is automatically bad
10t 1.5min
this gets only exacerbated more the less ilvl you have
so just stick with the dmg proc

So next season you can run haste if you pull 10+ targets constantly, ezpz
does pull them down then
35% unbuffed
I have 14%
Whats that in raw stat
to get a smooth experience
almost there!
like 25k
Yeah that's basically impossible to get
it is reachable, if you have haste in every slot
we back to HR gamers
Let me be sad Nome
you only play itf in raid
Was hr the play in s1 df
Yeah
Instead of itf?
yes
Ah cool
Ive got this one fucking fly in my room now that just keeps flying hext to my head

35% is like the magic number where you don't have to worry about getting those 2 second gaps of shield block that get you instakilled in high keys
It was even the play in most cases in S2, as well, since iirc haste was scarce on that set?
nah
s2 had tons of haste
and you played bolster + itf
cuz tierset was last stand
Yeah, we had bolster

Ah, that's right
I knew it was janky somehiw, but I was completely off in how
That's like, five ever ago
I peaked when I started in BC
I wasn't good then either
it was insane how unbelievably easy some keys were on timer in s3
I got 1850 in 2v2 arena in TBC
can literally go afk and take a shit and still win the dungeon
also tanked 28tyr DHT first try and only depleted by 4sec cuz bad route
and didnt proc cheat once
feral druid resto druid, before dampening existed, most fun you'll ever have
30 min per game
so i only had 1.5 trinkets equipped

if u had damage trinket u win eta gg
Esp AD
exactly
literally woulda timed key
if i DIDNT RUN cheat
but nooOOooOo
i had to run that dogshit trinket
cuz pussy
what did we learn team
Run cheat
cheat depletes keys
was scared of tree for no reason
No I mean
Spell block lasted 20 sec I think? Or 30 idk when the change happended
30
Yeah
you had 33% uptime on spellblock
Esp if theyre not grouped
and spellblock again
Bc no kicks
i have no clue
hmm okay, all i had to do was do story missions and then it says to beat 3 WQ and i can go get it
only problem was not getting dispelled at 8 stacks in dht
then you were almost in trouble
dht was special
Incl most common mistakes
DHT not the worst after i learned to get good
tree boss humbled me
and then 3min later deplete
threw me in the ground like a bitch, 1 shot me
so i learned
now i cant fuck up on him ever again
its saved to memory
Route, first boss, reminding them to kick casts, to external me when im out of sw on the tree etc
I can probably count on one hand the number of times I got dispelled in dht
i don't like pulling the trash for DHT much, but w/e
Like from the time it became a dungeon til now
i tanked frontal on first boss
Because I pugged 29 tyra
pretty free tbh
yeah checks ouit
We wasted all crs on him
didnt have his aug or?
I got invited somehow and then they took the mage
Just no cheat to fall back on
I think I had more fire mages do negative damage than badly performing augvokers
cuz its hard to tell when an aug is bad
Idk hard to tell
unless they die to every stomp
I mean mage doing good damage is something rare
Worst part of mages was that they always blame things other than themselves for their shit damage
I just deatroyed prio target and gapped everyone on bosses and couldnt care less

Doing 800k on 2nd boss in nokhud felt crazy
Or 750
That's like almost every DPS player I've been in a voice chat with
just did dawnbreaker on normal
I was soooo confused
they added so much RP that wasnt in m+ on beta for the ship to sail lol
If I need to reapply the Shield Block buff and have Shield Charge available (with Champion's Bulwark talented) am I better off using Shield Charge rather than just using Shield Block by itself?
send shield charge on CD for damage also
I think see your rage bar too. If you have 80 rage for example just shield block first then shield charge.
Good call!
I have a Dynamic group WA set with a limit of 1 to show me the following weak auras, so now if I have <= 50 rage It'll recommend Shield Charge, otherwise Shield Block
You should be aiming to use Shield Charge on CD, anyhow
Yeah I don't think you need that because you should be using SC on cooldown
Also, you should note that shield block duration can stack up to 3 times the base duration
So if you have Enduring Defenses talented, you can have up to 24 seconds of shield block
it's 18 seconds without, but you should pretty much always have it talented
Like, getting SB to overcap is quite difficult. with Shield Block x2 + SC, you're at cap, so if anything you'd be waiting to use another block charge
Oh, so I don't have to wait for SB to fall off before reapplying?
No
Well, that's news to me 😄
SoI don't want to be casting SB/SC if I have > 16 Seconds of SB remaining to not overcap the buff
That's not really something that should happen
you can and should completely ignore it
for how the class functions right now
capping is irrelevant rn
Shield block is a 16 sec recharge and lasts 8 seconds
And then SC is 45 sec CD and lasts 8 seconds
So casting them all back to back gives you the cap, and then you won't be able to cast another Shield Block for 16 seconds
(reduced by haste, but it takes a ton of haste for that to make a difference in this context)
So just send SB and SC on cooldown?
SC, yes
SB as needed, because there's no reason to spend rage on it if you don't need it
You don't wanna end up with most of a shield block charge taking place between pulls or something
Even though it increases Shield Slam damage?
Other than not using a sb charge at the end of a pull when you have enough uptime to finish it I wouldnt really think about it much
macro a 7 second timer
Keep SB uptime and don’t overthink it
just use it whenever u can
Yeah, just track the buff, and if it's about to run out, press SB
Losing 1 IP cast for spending rage on 1 extra SB is like nothing
Sorry for the dumb question which has probably been answered.
Should I just be replacing my s4 tier ASAP in WW or wait til I get a certain ilvl?
keep ur 2p until its disabled
Have they said they will disable it? Nothing I've seen on wowhead
To elaborate, you don't want to send SB if there's like 3 seconds until the mobs are dead and you still have 4 seconds of shield block or something. You could havve spent the rage better on IP or just even pooling it for the next pull. You want 100% effective SB uptime, so time where you're actually engaging enemies, not while just futzing around between packs
if this was old wow they'd keep it active smh
I don't think they've ever kept tier sets active through to the next max level
To the next tier, yeah
But not the next expansion's level cap
i thought they never deactivated tier sets between xpacs until like wod or something
but i can't even remember df s2, so don't hold me to it
I wanna say you're right, I kept my hunter T5 2piece for a very long time
Idk, I try to only think about the last few expansions because the rest doesn't matter for precedent really
is haste mastery our best stats?
Haste/Crit,
ilevel>haste>crit=vers>mastery
Vers isn't bad either
But having more stats at all is better than the "right" stats
hence the prio ghash posted
defensively, all the secondaries are close enough that it really doesn't matter
it is also the defensive stat ranking too though
what's the fastest way to get adventurer gear right now?
spam delves and hope for warbound gear
how can I spam delves without risking my keys?
wait until season actually comes out for more time efficient ways to get anything actually done
you dont need to use your keys
dont click the purple chest at the end
it's a locked chest at the end you have a choice to open
did they fix that?
This kids will be angry if they could read
but how am I gonna get pug invites without 8/8 adventure gear?!
Okay, I think I get it now. Thanks all. Will see how I get on and report back if I still have questions!
It sounds more complicated than it is, I promise
Just going to go with if the buff is missing, or has <7 seconds left I'll just hit the button
Smack it on cd unless you know youll be entering new pack and youll have small downtime inbetween
So spamming delves give u a shot at adventurer gear?
Just make sure u always have it when fighting mobs is all
but random gear, Ive geared up my alt hunter more than my warrior with the warbound shit
so like u just get a random piece of loot?
idk if there's any solid evidence of what you can acquire but so far I've had like 10 or so pieces drop, 1 of them being plate the rest cloth/mail
all adventurer?
have u done it as a group?
not yet
anyone else having troubles?
I think you have to wait for a weekly reset, at least according to BTWQuests
anyone know if the bleed from thunderous roar is buffed by arterial bleed on the colossus tree?
It specifies Rend and Deep Wounds
would it be good to bind normal charge with shield charge prioritizing sc when available?
No, you don't use SC from range
why not?
another stupid question because it seems there is A LOT of buttons, could macroing revenge with ss make sense?
no
still dont know how to spend the 2 keys i got
Keep them until tier 8 Delves open, and then use them at the end of a tier 8 bountiful delve
If you want to min/max gear acquisition
what
no not at all
They're both on the GCD so the only way you could macro them together would be a cast sequence macro, and they are not used in a fixed sequence.
i was thinking something that would use revenge if ss was on cd
Yeah that isn't possible
did they remove the Glow on Execute when its "usable" or is it just my UI being bonkers?
WoW macros don't allow conditionals like that
oh, for some reason i was convinced it would work
The only way that would work is if one or both abilities was off the GCD
Because then the macro would effectively be trying to cast both at the same time
But when both are on GCD, the macro stops once it has either failed or succeeded at casting the first spell in the macro
ah
best race for prot warrior for M+?
dwarf
does the number of deaths affect the type of loot u get at thend of the delve?
Not in the slightest
Unrelated—still leveling my warrior but mountain thane is very fun
Big thunder dam
Also turns out being minmaxed in s4 gear makes you the fucking main character in normal dungeons
The scaling in dungeons does this. Even if you are all 440 ilvl you are the ‘main character’ at lvl 75 and below
You scale way harder and longer in good gear
Sure
I’m 76 now and still usually doing 60% or so of overall dungeon dmg
But yeah compared to 70/71 it’s lower
People also suck
I was soloing bosses as arms in 8sec or so
Guild groups
Might still suck?
LMAO
Things die so quickly that some classes can’t get off their damage as well
Okay I’ll give you that some of them are playing like 4th alts as offspecs but still
When you pull everything in 1 pull on to bosses
The general strat for 70-72 on my warrior was to have me go as arms and literally solo like half the dungeons where you’re able to split directions
I carry almost every group I'm in even at 80... Most people suck at this game.
Are people spamming delves for Adventurer gear?
Like in stone vault
There’s a lot of ways to gear right now
what's the best way to get adventurer gear right now?
My guildie is one of the top ilvls in the world that isn’t doing the m+ exploit and he’s primarily just been doing delves and digging dirt after he finished all his sojourner quests and renown grinds
All you should care about is getting valor stones for upgrades
Also make sure you farm rares, primarily for rep
Best ways for this are either normal dungeon spam (best if you can get a level 70 main character to come clean house) or digging dirt
Are delves better in group or solo?
such as?
Just make sure whoever has the highest level bran is the lead
what would be a good comp with a prot warrior?
Not sure off the top of my head but prot is fine
Someone with a functioning brain
level in brann matters a lot?
yes
should i delve as prot or fury, for efficency sake
id say probably prot for the tankiness
since bran cant tank, only heal/dps
what's the best delve to farm right now?
how the heck are people rank 11 with Hallow
dirt
also rares
loooots of rares to kill there
that give like 150 rep each
how much dirt is out there? lol
None of this stuff matters unless you are raiding RWF
dirt is just for flighsttones and other shit
sure but what else are you going to do
Hello guys is there a good intervene charge macro out there?
not burn out for no reason
because the wowhead one did not work for me
if youre feeling burnout just dont play 4head
obviously nothng matters but like
if you want to play theres plenty of shit to do
why raid? The gear won't matter next season
not the same comparison
not even close
We are talking about doing degenerate stuff for gear that is obsolete when heroic raid week opens 2 weeks from now
Not even giving you any significant advantage day 1
is battle rez engineering just for everyone now
Requires lvl 1 engi
which... isnt degenerate shit
does it? I gave my buddy the itewm and he can use it
dont think so this xpac
no it doesnt
Maybe I was looking at the recipe
i mean everyone had brez available in DF, people still did engi
because engi could make the bracers
🤷
yeah but engineering had bonuses to make it work more often
Ahh I was looking at this
yeah u gotta use the prototype then u learn it
Just remembered seeing engi 1
no
engi didnt do shit for everyone else's bracers
just craft them
In SL the higher your engi level the less likely they were to backfire
tinker slots
to reduce backfire
thats not the point
thats exactly my point
the point is brez was available for everyone as well
"didnt do shit"
ur wrong though, my point was engineering had a benefit
chill
and it did,m tinker slots.
tinker slots were sold
just like those jumper cables
the only inherent benefit was brez helms
I thought u had to be an engineer to use tinker slots tho
no
oh, thats my mistake then
Engineers made CR failsafe, that is fair to note. While others could bring it and do it slow/fail.
Also, gnomish army knife warrior ress
Always have my knife on me
so the final verdict after all that is, I dont need to be an engineer
there is no need to do anything, so sure
You NEED to have alchemy cause who wants half duration flasks!
If you do keys all day
True and real
I cant tell if yall are dumb or trolling lol
Bit of both, mixed with smarts
Yes
new here?
Easiest way (besides selling tokens) to make decent gold this expansion?
I'm like 120k from 2mil
It's not important more so just my ocd
