People usually use the Anvil/Dreadplate combo

Anvil assuming your group is nice you can stack early and last until dungeon ends, dreadplate is just good combo for defense + offense.

I dont have plates so I haven't had a chance to use them, but reading the tooltip they pop based on damage taken, IP pool takes half incoming damage. So are you wanting to keep high IP pool and large packs so when a plate does pop it does uncapped aoe?

Dreadplate helps with the initial part of a big-ish pull by giving you some small leeway on mob gathering (we really dont need the mitigation) and then proccing the dmg pillars on the big-ish pack you just pulled

that're fully reliant on dps doing something accordingly

If they don't do it, and you don't do it, then it can quickly wreck the fight
So, especially if you're in a lower pug, just send it the safer strat

the vast majority of low teen keys, especially with how high avg ilvl and dps is this late int eh season, are not going to be untimed bc of a failed 'optimization' on your part

But can absolutely be failed by deaths attempting the optimization

And no, its not really 'wrong' on your part, its hard to know what's 'necessary' or 'ideal' as a tank player compared to DPS player. DPS will see a different tank every other run so they are very fond of playing tank peanut gallery and giving their two cents from other tanks they've seen. (even if it was wrong... They don't play tank so they don't understand why tank 1 did something x way, and tank 2 did something y way)

Unless you regularly off-spec on your class, you're not going to get to see other approaches from tanks.

Also, in dota, you can deny a lot of creeps, but you also generally have more things to do with controlling creep waves as a whole; easier to leash, jungle design is different, etc, and runes exist to shift reward incentives at different points of the game

But learning fighting games baseline is really:

1. BLOCK, DUMBASS, BLOCK
2. Spend like 5 minutes a day just practicing motions
3. Get a combo that leads into a knockdown of some sort

Feels like I need so many hotkeys and just seems like a lot of info to watch like when something cools off. I will get used to it probably, again I am only a week back into the game. The pvp videos I watched too looks like an insane amount of things to watch, hopefully that is not necessary to have my screen full of stuff like that haha.

I think I just need a few weeks to get into the swing of it tbh. Probably knowing things are cooled off by being used to how long it takes more than needing to look at it.

I have what seems like so many hotkeys set up too, and thats clicking some of the longer cooldowns like avatar and such.

I do need to set up some hotkey to my mouse though to relieve the number of hotkeys I have on the keyboard though IDK why I haven’t already done that.

Bursting being a tank affix is for some reason a prominent belief in low level content but it’s absolutely just not true
