You can save Avatar for 4 - 5 seconds into the pull to drop the stacks. (At the cost of damage of course.)

I've noticed if you touch right click or turn your camera at all during the grip or while he picks you up, it'll bug out

Two kneejerk things that I noticed as a consistent variable in terms of just overall play is a lack of overall usage of Spell Reflect (the highest I've seen so far is 2 uses in a given pull) and a few too many outbursts sent on Thunder Clap.
Consistency in SB is also of note like Jakey said, since some are pretty good in terms of blocked hits, others less so

Outburst triples the damage and doubles the rage, so it gives you more resources and damage when sent on Shield Slam
Which lets you press more buttons overall
As a future note, even in AOE, you still want to prio outburst on Shield Slams, since it does more damage to be multiplied and gives more rage for fueling the gameplay loop

If you only have 2 SB talents, without enough haste, there should technically be gaps, but there should be downtime in raid which makes it so you don't need like 100% 100% absolute block uptime iirc

Yeah, that's usually from overspending on IP, which is a hard balance. You'll actually likely fix that if you send more of your outbursts on average on SS over TC, since you'll get more rage from that

For increasing your own immediate survival/reducing stress, the spell reflect bit I mentioned before is good to note; it has a really low CD (iirc it's at 20s? for Prot), so you can throw it around a lot, for tank soak, explodes, whatever magic damage coming in.
