For real Loki at 30% haste you begin to DR from haste (no tby much and it may still be your best stat). You need to know what your priority is for the keys and content youre doing. Do you raid, m+20s, m+ 25s etc?

Of course I've read through icy veins to get a sense of it, but it's still a little much. It seems like certain mythic plus talents (like shockwave) are hidden behind a pretty large detour in the talent tree. Are there any like sets of lackluster talents I should be aware of that are easy to switch out of if I'm switching between dungeon and raid talents?

Oh sorry, it's just that I played a lot in Legion and BFA and the talents there were extremely straightforward and clear. It was a little intimidating reading all close to 100 talents and make sense of them. It's not that the guide was unclear, it's just a lot of information to process. If anything maybe the lack of any real damage/damage reduction numbers relative to one another in the guide made me feel like it was hard to tell at a glance which talents are comparable to which other ones, and which one's were just far and away better numbers to the point of it not being worth the comparison.

But yeah, mostly just my Legion/BFA brain freaking out at trying to process it all.

There aren't really as many choices to make as it first appears. You need certain points and nodes to reach important abilities, so a lot of the talents are "locked in" by those constraints

Having a quick glance through at your guide, I think it'd benefit from having a summary blob somewhere for like the mandatory talents to pick and explain, so that people orient themselves there. You've got descriptions for every talent, but it sounds like it'd just glaze over if you haven't kept up from Thunder's response.

The bigger issue is probably that there just isn't any real beginner/returner onboarding for the talent system as a whole, but that's just a genre problem overall, and I'm not sure if Icy Veins as a whole would want to try and tackle that

That goes more into what you actually need to clear keys, which isn't really play a spec good as much as play the key from everything.
