Generally how aggro works is:
-You attack a mob, you get aggro;
-If someone reaches 110% (melee) or 130%(ranged) threat of the current aggro target, then you will gain aggro;
-Taunting forces the enemy to attack the target for 3 seconds;
-Grants the player who taunted an amount of threat equal to that of the player who had aggro at the time of the taunt;
-Increases your threat generation for 3 seconds;
So all in all, even if the VDH did do more damage than the 2 other tanks, but did not taunt, he wouldn't get aggro unless the damage difference is very big. Even then, the other 2 tanks are probably taunting due to boss mechanics, which means that they have increased threat generation nulling out the VDH's damage.

for your 3.5% pull, it just seems that dps is a little too slow
it's possible to survive duress 4 (double duress) with everyone still alive but the mechanics after that are extremely difficult + everyone's health is ticking down rapidly. It's a dps optimisation game mostly, try to kill the boss by 7:30

At a quick glance at just one pull (Wipe 5, 35%), you can press some of your defensives more. Spell Block you used once when you could have gotten 2 or 3 uses out of it (didn't check specifically fight timings, so it may have just flat out been not a time to use it the 3rd due to transitions or the like), and you used Spell Reflect 3 times over those 5 minutes. That's only on a 25s CD, so you definitely could have gotten more uses out of Spell Reflect. Heavily remember that it's just free mitigation against magic, which is the highest damage on you in emergency time frames (tank debuffs being the main one)
That would be the instant immediate thing to take note of
If you're under using Spell Reflect that much in just a single pull, I'd wager it's a greater scope issue that probably hit the other pulls, as well

I haven't actually played PTR or looked at anything much deeper than brief mechanics overviews, but it sounds like there's probably at least two fights where there may be hard spots, but most of it seems fine for Prot War; we'll see once things are actually active or if someone who actually hit raid testing shows up

Due to popular demand about how prot war is "looking" or "feeling" in s3 ill write a TLDR.
- We dont feel any different if you played prot warrior an already substantial amount before s3
- Our ST dmg is pretty good but our overall aoe dps leaves things to be desired
- we are sturdy like we've been all xpac but now with +14% DR with 80% uptime ontop of that
- We'll be more than fine in raid and are looking super solid in m+
