I just tried shining + cold + gleaming and that was giga giga trash. 3500 dps and like 13% leech worth of healing. not good. Cold gem seems fine, both in terms of DPS procs and HPS, but gleaming is giga trash. I'll try indomitable out and see if that performs better

I never move kurog so i don't hit people with frontals, i usually taunt one add, heroic throw the other, the 2nd tank usually does similar with the rest of the adds. Plus, if needed, you can use Disrupting Shout, just communicate with the other tank if you steal kurog for a moment

The frost gem is just the better. it has the highest proc rate (which translates to best DPS when combined with the shining obsidian) and the best absorb value of any of the 3 absorbing gems. So its a toss-up between the other two for the 3rd slot on the gem

my testing of 1 dungeon (not a huge sample size) puts indomitable earth close to a PPM of 2.5 which puts it is line with all of the other proc rates. just superior absorption value and procs the obsidian gem more often as well. the auto-attack damage is just not good enough to make up the difference

yeah I can't really say that I think the defense gems are worth running. Maybe on a rat alt you're just starting to get into keys who is undergeared and getting carried by DPS and you just need to live, a "free" 424 ring that helps you live is good, but playing around with them the cost to DPS is not even close to worth it for the HPS you get back
maybe they'll do another round of buffs and make the defensive gems better, who knows. for now I can't really mentally justify it. heck, you're already getting leech value from the blood gem with the twilight + blood combo without having to gimp your DPS

You have to have reflect up before you get into combat with them. It's the first thing they do when combat is started so if you pop reflect after getting in combat, you'll be too late.

I have a question about Primordial Stones. I read Llarold's guide in Wowhead and I get that we are very defensive and don't need to proc absorb shields everytime BUT Shining Obsidian Stone deals a base of 36K at 411 before any upgrades and increases damage up to five targets any time a shield is gained. Pairing it with Gleaming Iron Stone (shield after 3 sec standing still) or Cold Frost Stone (shield every 20s) wouldn't that be a big damage increase in M+? Is there a proc issue that is not visible in the tooltip? Why do chance procs at lower damage being recommended over this? Please help, I couldn't sleep last night trying to understand and find info on this lol

Dunno, haven't faced such issues myself, if that happens I just slowly kite towards the range to 1. lower the distance of frog jumps and 2. make sure DPS are hitting the big clump of mobs, most importantly the marked breaker

guys I've had really bad luck with trinkets, running 415 whetstone and only got these 3 to chose from for second. sim recommends gift of radiance but that doesnt seem strong at all, on use barely doing 1.5% overall and dont know if the stats outweigh the dps from either eranog or scale

Scale is not worth it at all, ever. I would either go with DoF or Radiance. Gift probably has more stats which icrease all of your damage overall. The on use is only a side effect at that point. I've never really like DoF, it feels incredibly week in all situations tbh

You don’t use gift for the on use you use it because of the stats for the most part. 421 gift is basically the stats of a 415 hunger so the in use is almost free

Pestilence does 1k dps per target (assuming it gets its full duration on everything)
Storm does 20-40k hits on 3 targets several times per minute
Pestilence is just not good compared to other stones, pestilence only Sims good but in practice isn't.

Anywho the absorb package was only doing 3200 dps for me so that’s a pretty severe sacrifice in dps for what is incidental healing that had anti-synergy with how we mitigate damage.
