looking at top RLP logs for a 23 you seem to be okay on dps
top logs are at around 60k on WCL which would be a bit higher in-game

boss. group of 4 before portal. Dragon. BOSS. 5 wolfs. boss. BEARS.
3 mobs + 2 two cracklling guys in to the last boss.

Yeah that's pretty close to what we do, except we don't do pull 15, and we do the bulls as well as the bears
we don't kill any sentinels or the 3 pack in 15

i usually pull the sentinel after 2nd boss with the pack, and not do 14 but do the bulls then run over the water, end up killing all 4 sentinels, can save 3 until after 3rd boss, the speed boost is great on them
but also not doing super high keys

If you need a damage reduction flask you're probably just doing something else very wrong

Chaos phial is awful for tanks due to its rng nature and lower stat budget than tepid vers.
Tepid vers is 3.7% dmg increase at all times, hard to beat

Yes if you're careful. A slow on them can make it safer but you just basically need to stay far enough a way to not get rending claws, but not too far so you don't get charged
I main rogue so I usually just swap to crippling poison for that pull to make it easy on my tank
with bears + bulls I like to kill like half the bears and then pull the last 3 bears and all bulls
it's prob a bit slower
but the bears are scary man
Yeah though I'd avoid the stag if you can. DPS are too oblivious to pay attention to the charge
with the bulls swirlies at the same time
also, prefer killing the bulls and bears AFTER Fenryr

Have anyone tested infurious helm of vengance in raid? Ive crafted one for pvp purposes, but wanted to give it a try on hc altrun, and it was working fine, but... it wasnt working at all on some bosses. Of course its random proc chance, but according to log it looks like some bosses just dont proc it at all. On screenshot below those are the targets, that received any dmg from it during 7/8 hc run, most interesting is kurog, where boss himself didnt get hit by it even once, but mobs during intermission did.
You do dragon, then 1st phase, then wolves, then fenryr, then bears, then bulls
To clarify on that, you do that so you have the speed buff for the bears
makes it easier to kite them

They're pretty free with the speed buff though, and unlike the sentinels you can stun them and shit to stop the stomp
true maybe i just need to do them more to get a feel for them
the hardest part is getting lucky that your melee dps doesnt get hit by stomp

Is there some kind of interaction that would make intervene not work on somebody for the Fenryr chase? I just had a preservation evoker get hit twice while he actively had intervene up from me.
Yeah it only has a 10 yard range, so if they're much further than melee range, they will get hit

What’s everyone’s route in CoS? I have such a bad time in there around the 17 range. Always one dps who is consistently dying on pulls, ninja pulling packs, summoning the mini bosses while already engaged with a mini boss…
Maybe you casted it before scent started?
First pull lust, docks, then press W, for the most part that'll help you time any cos under 21

we used to do that. Figured having all 3 dps for the harbor was more efficient. we usually kill it a few secs after evoker dies
You have one person run through the building after 1st boss while everyone else goes to the dock pull. Once they come out the other side, you die (if you're not a rogue) and then go help finish the pack
either way.. starting out on that skipped side of the 2nd area is WAY better than not doing the skip
I assume most healers can also do the skip but they will have to die even if they're a druid because druid would have to go around the long way to not die
well the guy sees stealth so druid cant re-invis unless meld

i ran my 5 tw on DK and got warrior helmet appearance, recently bought the dk heroic appearance helm for warrior im warrior that thinks am dk, or vice versa
First day playing my prot warrior and honestly I have /no/ idea what defensive to press when and how to sort my bars
Shield block. Everything else on cd whenever they come up. Don’t really need to time defensives when first starting, assuming you’re not jumping straight into 25s
shield wall, with anger mastery, spending rage revenge ip sb all reduce cd of sw
Keep Shield Block up as much as possible. Use Ignore Pain as a Rage dump to avoid wasting Rage. Use Shield Wall for major tankbusters/at the start of spicy pulls; Shield Wall has an actual cooldown closer to 1 minute, because of Anger Management; Spell Reflect and Spell block things that they work on (there's a spreadsheet in the pins)

Protection Warrior is the king of the mitigation tanks
shield wall and demo are your main cd dr's
First thing is to just try to keep shield block up at all times, extend with shield slam, press shield charge on cd, and keep your shield block charges on cooldown
Our fairly substantial leech + rage engine is our self healing.
spell reflect and spell block pretty big in alot of senarios as well
10 rage = 1% health iirc? Adds up quick.
Oh and Defensive Stance is a defensive ability; you should spend most of your time in battle stance

@south widget they key thing for Protection Warrior is the Rage Engine; you need to be spending Rage as fast as possible in order to generate more Rage to spend as fast as possible. The Talents Anger Management and Indomitable are the underlying key to how protection functions.
id save ur spell block for green phase then u can do 2 strikes with spell block up
Yes, the effect is long enough to block 2 casts in the jade phase
You want IP somewhere where you can hammer the shit out of, since it's your rage dump to prevent overcapping. It sounds like you don't press it a lot, but there's periods during CDs where you're literally pressing it on its CD while still pressing your normal buttons

And like everyone else is mentioning, Prot Warrior specializes in mitigating as much damage upfront as possible, so our lesser amount of self healing (Via Indomitable, which heals you for rage spent, baseline 10% leech, and Impending Victory) doesn't need to be as big since we take much less damage in the first place
You enable this by first generating rage, then spending it. So SS is your priority, then TC, and then you spend it with Revenge

@south widget in terms of Stats, Haste > Crit > Vers/Mast, but you do need a reasonable amount of everything. My stats have fallen out as a ratio of roughly 3:2:1:1 H:C:V:M

There is a new spark, but you can upgrade existing gear too so you won't have to farm a whole new set of sparks

No, but they have weird interaction with z-axis that will cause them to hit not the tank if you have them on stairs and are out of range
This + I'd like to add that if you go out of 8 yard range just as they start casting might bug it too, like with certain other tank busters

questing should always end with quests or goals for vault say, taht you have to "go do the content and we will reward you for your efforts"

if there is not huge difference in your dps, you can check if hunters/rogues arent giving tricks/misdirect on you, and if its mythic - remind him that he needs to punch target to keep agro, even if he holds add and the tactic is to focus boss, he still needs to pump some into add to keep agro on him, especially when you cleave/aoe with TC, ravager etc.
it could be something that if you want to keep displaying that gold level, you would have to go earn the buff once a month
keeps players coming back to training dummies for clout

you can't exactly pre-cast it since you don't know who's targeted by the fixate until he does it, a mouse-over macro and casting on the party frame when the alert comes up is the easiest way to do it

Honestly, I've found that Rio is only a measure of how well a guy knows the dungeon itself. I've still had people doing 120k overall in a 25 academy with more Rio than myself
Rio still helps obviously as a very approximate measure but it's inaccurate
I'm not into the 20s, I just got into the 16,17 18 range. There are brain dead players in all brackets

every pack is free if your team plays well, the matter is which pack is easier to play it well

Technically there are defensive trinkets, like the decoration of flame and some such, but they don't really add much. Decent as a statstick at best; don't use 'em if you have other choices and grab something offensive

It’s hard to optimize kicks without voice but with auto marker you can just assign a mark to each player at the start of the dungeon

Best thing you can do is plan to stop the more dangerous things at the start of the dungeon and then pay attention to what your pugs like to stop and adapt
If you notice a dps who likes to stop all the heal casts for example, then you swap to say the single target casts that nuke people
