How does demoralizing shout work on dots or other delayed damage like a floor soak? Does the caster need to have the debuff on them when the soak explosion happens or on the cast? For dots, does the debuff need to be on the caster when the dot is applied or does it check at every instance of damage?

Everything in WoW for the most part is dynamic, which means the damage is only reduced while it's on the mob.

When it comes to things like floor soaks, it would depend on how the game sources it. Is it coming from a mob or is it coming from the environment. Demo Shout won't affect damage done by the environment, even if the boss originally cast the swirlie.

Hey! I m playing on my alt war and i finally timed a 21(TJS) and i noticed during my playtime that Avatar, Roar etc are "kind" of defensives CDs for me. It helps me maximize the ignore the pain and in some situations where i take a lot of damage I cannot wair for Avatar to be off CD and when I press it, i feel like I press a "defensive" CD lol. Yeah you need to work on your ability priority as well. Shield Slam should be cast quite often, even in AoE you want to use it whenever you can unless you're in like massive AoE situations. And then you need to make sure you're prioritizing Thunder Clap, then Revenge/Execute (AoE vs ST)

To be specific, you can, with proper builds, keep Shield Block up 100% of the time in combat, no downtime. What matters more, then, are blocked hits, meaning that you're properly applying shield block quickly/not wasting duration on downtime/not taking hits to the back. You can test this out by just running the rotation on dummies for a while. Like someone mentioned, we heavily recommend nabbing one of the pinned M+ builds due to it not costing your rage economy and still giving you big number for DPS, as well

and stats are char dependant mastery might be more for u where vers is more for me etc its all based on your char not a general rule

The stat weight sim is pretty good at showing the 3D graph of various combinations of stats and what gives the most DPS. So even though every char will have different weights, everyone can see what the optimal spread of stats will be for a warrior in general.

You won't see that though because if you run stat weights, it's giving stat weights FOR YOU. And stat weights change as soon as the stats change. This is why stat weights are bad.

They aren't personal to you, it just shows you various splits of secondary stats and what DPS they would give you.

If you can't see any value in knowing 1.6k crit, 1.6k haste, 800vers and 800 mastery is the optimal stat split for doing DPS then why do you think doing a top gear sim of every single item that ever exists is?

They give you the same answer, except the stat weight one requires far less effort

so i tried to tank a 16 AA on my 393 ilvl prot warr and got absolutely smacked around by Crawth, didnt even make it to Vex. A guildie was healing on his 390 evoker but together we just couldn't get past that bleed dam + party dam. Anything I can do to help there? I was in prot stance, had rage for IP, used SW where I could, health pot, IV, last stand but it wasnt enough
