I feel the same though I would be less annoyed with the placement costs if they were standardized in some way. There are many things that are just priced haphazardly. A good example is a pair of the razor grasses. One costs 1 and the other costs 3. They are identical in every way except for a slight color variation.

Wanted to see how much you can stuff can fit in a small room and a closet. You can pretty easily do a second level with a vaulted roof.

hey since you're using those beam platforms for stairs, i did that too but i had two problems

1. i maxed out my budget and was trying to find ways to cut back

2. going up and down those stairs was very bumpy and my camera was jumping

so i tried some things out and replaced them with upside-down 'sturdy wooden shelf' parts. they cost 1 budget instead of 3, they can be dyed, and going up and down them is very smooth

only problem is the style of gaps between steps, which actually works well for my style but might not be your style

just a tip for anyone using custom stairs from individual parts and is trying to cut back on budget use

if youre curious where the mirror went, well it didnt work because i couldnt recognize my reflection, plus i kept breaking it trying to punch the orc intruder in my bathroom

oh i see, yeah i noticed a lot of stuff that takes up much more resolution can cost 1, and some crappy vanilla low rez stuff cost 3 or 5. but if they change it now it might bork up peoples houses

if they make changes to cost, it should only be changes down and not up

and they should allow themselves to make things cost 2 and 4 aswell, idk what the costs are either 1, 3 or 5

the legion fel brazier, despite emitting green flames, actually also emit yellow light, but uniquely they emit light in a flickering manner unlike any other light source i found. if you can turn it or clip it to get the green fire particles not to play a factor, you can use the yellow flickering light to light up a treasure pile like i did with the "leaf" pile under the dragon skull

need a premade on both teams even to make it not tedious

and you can only premade up to 5 people right, so yeah its tricky which is a shame as it will affect bystanders who queued normally

not to mention you can't control which BG you are gonna pop into

I always like to break the squareness as you say it with just anything I can. go back through my pictures and you'd find trellises clipped into the wall, stones in the walls, beams/platforms used as bigger baseboards, entire floor covered in a big rug, etc

Someone asked me why I don't make guides for my windows, and my response was:

"The reason I dont do guides for my builds is because I usually do them in a manic stimulant fueled marathon. Then, when I wake up the next day, I can only slightly remember what the fuck I was thinking when I made certain choices."

I guess my creative process just boils down to brute forcing it until something clicks in my brain, then going all in on that creative train of thought.

I also know that if I recorded audio for the guides, I would be found using very coarse language during moments of frustration lmao

funnily enough, the pic I sent earlier isnt the only version that the window went through

this was Version 1, which got changed because I felt it was too visually busy and distracted from the centerpiece (but it still got like 1k upvotes on the housing subreddit, so I might've been alone in that)

Ver. 2 got changed because it was too orange and made the main window harder to discern

Ver. 3 was where I started feeling like I was on the right track, and I just had to do some minor cosmetic/color correcting work (plus adding some smexy light shafts via the paladin order hall libram)

and then Ver. 4 was the final version I sent the other day

But I draw the line at copying it 1:1 and not just claiming it as their own but then attempting to use it to win a prize that has tangible monetary value

I want to see strangers come to my home, I dont want them hidden from me, even if its a myriad of them, this feature should promote social encounters

even for shy people, I oppose the option of barring people from your yard even. being able to choose who enters you home sure but this mmo should use this housing feature to encourage contact with strangers and not cater to the shy wall flowers who dont want to talk to anyone. they are missing out on experiences and friendships even if they think they dont want it
