I play ow consistently and I haven’t had issues at all with amd drivers until recently 3 days ago. I play for a bit and then my game freezes crashes. The game tells me I lost my rendering device and adrenaline tells me I have a driver timeout. I’ve done ddu and reinstalled drivers. I’ve rollbacked drivers but I can’t use adrenaline so I don’t bother testing it(playing without Radeon Anti lag is horrid). I’ve disabled all potential ocs which include expo, pbo, & x3d gaming mode. I’ve also just applied the undervolt setting for the gpu on adrenaline. This has drastically reduced the frequency of timeouts but they still occur, thanks

can you go into bios and set your memory to auto pls
also, i assume your GPU has a dual vBIOS switch, do those crashes occur on the other vBIOS aswell?
the physical switch on a card, so id switch it to "quiet"?
yeah
Also does the ss show that there is some ram tuning, I left it on auto
the speed got me, but some sticks dont go to 2400MHz / 4800MT/s when set to auto
I switched it to silent vbios, should I leave adrenaline default, I currently have it on “undervolt”
i just put it on default
im going to game and see what happens
scary seeing my gpu memory temp at 93
ye default
So yeah it happens just now with the different vbios
A new pattern that I’ve seen is that it happens after playing for like 1.5 hours
Could it be a ram clean up error? Usually happens when I hit tab in game, game barely starts, the game is finishing or when power spikes when a lot of stuff is happening(maybe don’t quote me on it)
what should be my next trouble shoot step, im thinking of replacing mobos w/ a clean install of windows, but idk if i can just transfer the same drive while installing a freshwindows w/ all my files
or do i have a "dying gpu", granted ive been running the gpu 100% as long as i can remember and the delta is 20 degrees
limit your GPU Boost Clock to ~2700MHz
Do I put it back on oc vbios and set the boost clock to that via adrenaline?
I have red devil if that matters at all
leave it on quiet for now
yep
alright ill update whenever if it crashes
i ran the integrated stress text in adrenaline, and the clock never went above 2530
its annoying,
i think if it pulls anything more than 340w it goes crazy. i was running the game for a while on a slightly reduced settings and it was fine
i upped it back up because i thought it would be fine with the boost clock limited
what Power Supply do you have, and do you use dedicated power cables for each of the GPUs power plugs?
also i have to ctrl, win, shift,b every single time before launching the game or i get double overlay, and choppy frames
still happens what would be the best course of action
Wait double overlay but which overlay?
Also you mentioned you have been using the card 100% since when you got it, don't say how long ago but maybe a repaste can help? I have the PCRD Limited and haven't had issues 🤞
Metrics overlay from adrenaline
I’ve had the card for like 1.5 years
They say repasting red devil is a nightmare
Hmmm, i think the pc is crossing the Igpu with the gpu
nahhh man lot's of screws but as long as you have a little method is easy just patience
I’ve updated drivers and the double overlay is gone
I still get driver timeout tho
At this point I’m just gonna clean install windows
only reason the overlay would be on twice is 2 signals from the 2 gpu's triggering the layout
I don’t know what else to do
It would happen when I would boot up a game
One of the overlays goes to n/a and the other one shows metrics
ok i have 1 thing to try since you are already tired figure this won't hurt
What I would try, but that's just me.
Go bios disable Igpu.
Then uninstall the gpu drivers with AMD Cleaning tool or DDU, reboot!.
Then install the new drivers, reboot!
Now try everything you want to try including a game.
If all is ok then turn off the pc, go to bios, enable the igpu and try the same stuff you did before.
Not guaranteed but i'm about 85% that should solve it.
As long as you do the steps 1 by 1 no jumping or shortcuts, annoying yes, but hey.
Would it be under “integrated graphics configuration”
The integrated graphics
It’s set to UMA auto
Should I just disable
Sorry I worded it wrong, like when I’m gaming I use it 100%. And I game for long time
ahh so you don't see 2 overlays 1 on top of the other?
Yes under integrated graphics in the Bios and i did say DISABLE not auto.
Well i see you are busy playing, so i'm going to make dinner then it's play time no more support at least for today.
But I'm sure that should get you going, tag me up if anything.
ps: I ignore dm msgs.
lmaoo thank you
ill do as u said
well i did until i updated drivers
even tho i thought i already had the newest driver
sorry for the late reply, do you use a recent combined driver?
I don’t know what a recent combined driver is
@autumn mica did you get it going?

I’ve been busy but I’m doing it rn as we speak
Not saying i'll be here as i'm going to be in a few but hit me up if anything to see if i'm still around if you need anything
Thanks for sure
Oh by the way when you install the new ones pick FACTORY RESET under the optional tab in the driver installation software
Do em a favor do not move from there
andf just reinstall over
but look at the window you will see optional
Yeah I know the box ur talking about but I’ve never click factory reset
click and you wiull see Factory restet tick it on
and run
So i'm telling you to do it! lol
your pc won't blow up!
lol
ok please do that tick it.
The driver won't tell you but after it's installed do not launch it just close it and reboot the pc.
No it's just old habits, that I think are actually good, makes sense every time you install something
- To not have other stuff open in the background
- As soon as it installs anything reboot so everything is nice and fresh in place
Driver Only / Minimal / Full
I had to restart 3 different times after install
It keeps giving me the notif, system settings have changed reboot required
wait what notif and what settings be more specific of the msg that is super important
in other words what in your pc is telling you that the system settings changed, becuase then you have something in the background overiding stuff
that should not happen out of a normal Driver install
should have been only as i told you Fact reset and by default is full, so if i didn't mention it you go with default which is full, but I need to know about that msg, what program trigerred it
Install problem have to go to work but if a recall it's an easy fix just have to wait to get home.
yeah it still crashes even with ur method
what should be my next course of action
I’m limiting max boost to 2600 now
Vram temp looks way too high. How old is the gpu?
year and a half
vram temps hover around 89-91
at most 94
ppl say its fine aslong as its not above 100
Still that is very close to 100. Probably a good idea to repaste it and clean it, change thermal pads
is it not normal for higher end cards
im reinstalling windows, swapped mobos and now im running dual channel memory
@vivid bluff I’m running heaven benchmark and my gpu be pausing, coil whine stops and the benchmark black screens or pauses and then returns to normal benchmark
Msi meg 1300w
I’m messing around with my gpu in adrenaline
…
It’s fine if I up the pL
ahh wait did you go a little too much on th UV?
But it I limit the clocks it does that
didn't i give you a profile the last time?
ok then try this
It was fine in cyberpunk but on heaven it stutters
min, 2400 Mhz
max 2900 Mhz
Volt 1120
Vram 2686
Power tuning
PL slide all the way to the right 15
Alright gonna run it
nothing else right only this and 3d mark open?
Heaven, 3d mark, and cyberpunk
I’m doing heaven benchmark
Still unstable
Crashed
if you see low scores you know why all the open stuff in the background, as long as it doesn't pause or black screen
I’ve ran ddu again..
And when running benchmarks or games it’s always unstable
Like default settings
Do I have something faulting
if benchmarks even fail then something is very wrong, test RAM
if RAM is ok your GPU is faulty, I had 7900xtx which passed all benchamarks but was crashing in some games no matter what I do, and I did everything including buying new atx 3.1 PSU
you could try to reseat it and clean pcie slot if you havent already reconnect the cables but ...
