around launch up to now people's been complaining the 9800x3d gets fried on motherboards from asus, asrock, msi, gigabyte etgc

faulty CPU's in combination with wrong memory timings/voltages and bios configurations (fun fact all brands overpower their sockets to push more performance out of CPU's)
