Hi! Just switched from an nvidia card to a rx 7900 GRE. I launched up Escape from tarkov Arena, and my cpu reached the craziest temps I have never seen before. Additionally, I followed an OC / Undervolt guide on youtube, and posted my current tuning settings. With my 3060 12gb I never had these problems. Granted, I have more fps now. Please advise! (I have a 5800x3d)
#CPU reaching 84 Celsius after switching to new GPU (RTX 3060 -> Radeon RX 7900 GRE)

better gpu that means u using more cpu, thats all good
what cpu do you even have?
yeah that isn't uncommon
what cooler ?
Meaning?
I'm using the AMD Wraith Prism Cooler
then its normal temp with that cooler
damn
the older ryzen 7 5800x3d is the hottest of the ryzen 7 x3d family and with a stock cooler it would get toasty, with the 3060 you basically weren't touching its performance capability
ahhhhh
I see
Thank you for explaining
That was hella scary
Is there anything else I can do
Besides buying a new cooler?
just getting a better air cooler would help a lot
Tysm. Any recommendations or should I just go to reddit?
Thank you!!!
One more thing, is 80 celsius really bad?
I mean usually I had it at 50
no, your cpu can handle prolong temps of 95
Ah okay
Do you have any recommendations on Canada Computers?
Thermalright doesnt seem to be available on cc.
hmm, let me check
well you will want something with 6 heat pipes
though canada you could get away with 4 heat pipes
what is your budget cause I will try my hardest to find something in your CDollars in your budget
most of these are just flat out out of stock
this should keep your cpu cool
despite having only 4 heat pipes it cools up to 220w of heat
it is still under $40
and if you get open box you can get as low as $32
you do have thermal paste right?
nvm it comes with a small packet of thermal paste
Tysm
Awesome
you are welcome
Phantom Spirit EVO > Phantom Spirit > Peerless Assassin > Burst Assassin > AG400
I might just go for this
Since it seems to cool more
Also will this fit in a meshify C?
I'm using a tomahawk b450
Nvm checked it should be good
now for deciding between the PS and PA....
PS>PA. PA EVO>PS (because this is mostly the fans that matter. In fact the EVO compared to the normal one have the exact same heatsink it's just a different fan. The PA have 6 heatpipe the PS 7. It usually don't matter but apparently it does on those coolers. If the PS EVO is significantly more expensive don't get it
@torn rose Would this be great then?
62 CAD, 45 USD.
Also did you mean PS EVO>PS or PA EVO>PS?
Both
PA EVO > PS.
But PS EVO > PS (and of course PS EVO> PA EVO
thanks
