@livid pelican i am aware that trick chests will exist in this game, i will be very happy when i see a mimic, but they really seem to have expanded on them. i was collecting runes or whatever the currency is yesterday, as im not strong enough for Margit or whatever the first boss is named (time to overlevel my dudes), so i was exploring parts of the map to see where I may be strong enough to explore and found my first teleporting trap, which wasnt a thing i knew existed (i enjoy doing my first playthrough of these games blind) and it took me to a place I was very very underleveled for, with no idea of where to go, so after getting one shot twice in a row i lost several levels worth of runes i had on me. (you were not allowed to fast travel until you had found your way out of said trap).

For real, coming from a Suuuupppperrr stingy game reviewer, this game is a Quality Piece similar to Groundbreaking games like Half Life’s Series and Even the Great Skyrim.
Truly Amazing to see in a Period where games have fallen flat and came out empty.
They even added ways for noobs like myself to find ashes and those that are Faith or Magic Casters to get through bosses with ease.

Discovery is basically luck
it affects chance of item dropping
certain enemies can drop some items. Like this https://eldenring.wiki.fextralife.com/Eclipse+Crest+Greatshield shield. Its very hard to get because only 2 good farming spots and its one enemy at each spot. And its not a guaranteed drop.
BTW this shield claps

It also just makes you shrug off attacks, you won't "flinch" everytime you're hit or will flinch less and will generally make you able to trade more.

Good for runes at the beginning, most people haven't found any issues with quests from killing it plus you get an easy dragon heart for a spell.
Rune farming isn't an issue to me, same as any game.
