#Archived Thread - Light No Fire

it's not my fault he's wrong, when he didn't even watch the announcement lmfao
Purely speculation, but I have a feeling it will have more story elements than NMS, but will remain fundamentally similar
i hope so
if light no fire is an rpg
nms story was short but sweet
it will be more lore driven
and light no fire could be less sandbox and more story driven too
Id like that
I like you
Awkward… 😆
Kill em with kindness bro
i like the huts
I just watched the 4 minute clip. My hypothesis still stands. You down to wager a bet?
lol what?
Just a bet on who is closer with their prediction
I haven't made any predictions, beyond the minor speculation about story.

He did say seamless however he also made references to nms and making an entire universe. So we shall see

Guys im going to say something u all must be shocked at I’ve never played no man’s sky
Just came here for the tea huh
Came here talk about new game looks sick
But wondering whether or not try NMS again havnt played since like 2016 and that was for like 20 mins so can’t remember
the game has improved like a thousand fold. it is considerably better than release state. give it a go
Who was the one who showed the starship line for the dragons?
That would be an entirely different experience anyhow, compared to now
Might try it out but what y’all do to keep entertained I remember for the short while I played I just flew around lol I’m to used to doing a million Skyrim side quests XD
LnF is NMS reskin 🙂
worst take ive seen today
quests keep popping up. if you're bored, ust walk around a planet and enjoy the scenery. build bases. automate mining. trade. steal. etc etc. there is SO much content
Might re install this new game got me hyped about HG
pretty much. it does look similar to NMS but thats because they are built on the same engine
a lot of stuff is different, for example:
There's a lot of reused animations etc but that's fine. Fromsoft do it all the time
if it aint broke, dont fix it. also could be placeholder animations
Also it’s normal for games made by same creator to look similar if they have a certain style type they want to stick to
Engine doesn't matter. It's the artists, 3D modelers and programmers behind the game. Same people, same style.
You can see similar effect with other game studios like Bethesda, Rockstar etc. People's handiwork carries over.
good point
Exactly. If you've already made it, why make it again unless there's a good reason?
A lot of people flipped their opinion on the period of a few hours 😂
also, i dont see why similar styles are bad
what opinions?
But yee, it does use same engine and many visual things from NMS tho. Why reinvent the wheel and make everything again. Especially with such a small team where you don't have whole huge departments for asset creation etc.
So true like when playing aany Bethesda game you know it the moment u look at it with the style and writing
Literally nobody was giving me flak earlier and the same people are upset by my same statements like what?
I've mostly seen people happy about the announcement tbh. It looks great and looks like it'll do what we expect
yup. altough i do think that HG would want to update the animations further in development, just a refresher. im putting my money on placeholders
Remaking literally everything fromc ground up would be pointless waste of work hours that can be spent on actually developing content and gameplay mechanics.
different people, different opinions
Did you guys see the foliage looks beautiful I’m a sucker for good scenery XD
Some of them are the same people homie
okay
And the clouds! And water too
Yeee
also the building models look amazing
100%, the only people who complain about it are usually looking for stuff to be angry about too. See elden ring
i dont care if they reuse stuff, as long as it looks good and plays good then thats all we need
A little thing I'm excited about is that there's no awkward flat areas around POIs!!
I just wanna build a little tribe of weird mutant badgers and go sailing across the world
oh shit thats cool
Mhm. The act of making every singular thing from ground up with each new IP is a luxury only huge AAA-studios can afford. And even then it's kinda pointless waste of spent manpower and work hours
Gleam the only thing that bothers me is their wordage
It looks like it'll be chill to build a little town with your friends and go exploring for cool birds and stuff
Especially when you don't have easy access to things like mocap etc
How big is hello games team ?
Can't wait to have a little town with my friends and just live our fantasy life there. Occasionally greeting passing travelers
May I join XD
around 26 people iirc
Around 40 people says their Linkedin.
The team behind LNF, about a dozen or so
refer to azure, theyve got better numbers
People are all speculating - we don't really have any hard information as to how anything works - don't get upset because someone doesn't agree with you, or you have a different idea - no one here actually knows
at the start they were 12-ish people iirc
Damn crazy what they can do with that amount of people
Then you have Bethesda who released starfield (it’s okay) with big team
True. One of us is bound to be correct
It'll be really nice. Hopefully this server has a town or something too
Love small studios making a name for themselves kinda like larian as well
You can join my town of Whiterun
galactic hub branch in LNF would be cool to see
Yes, I am
I like the confidence.

So nice that studios like this exist who arnt just after your money
I just need a book to come out with all the lore lol
just play the game, and when confused ask around in #nms-spoilers
completely agree. HG are a special bunch
Yea I’m just such a lore nerd and love all the details
same here
They've been pretty clever with building it to be unique but still appealing to lots of existing fans tbh
I was kind of worried that it would be so different people wouldn't be too interested initially
But seeing it hit on a lot of the same stuff is cool
Better keep pvp on
I'll travel the lands, far and wide
My bunny will know no fear
this is real
i will make winterhold
I’m making markarth
So we all jarls now?
yes.
😆
winterhold gang arise. all my homies love magic
We better get our own discord channels for our holds
Also in the trailer for LNF we see a staff so magic confirmed ?
well, we see a few staffs but no actual magic. i suspect they just didnt implement it yet lol
Sean, you forgot something
I ain't even commenting on speculation now. Just getting my whiterun villagers recruited
fair's fair
In the trailer there is a weird circle icon next to the weather gauge. Could potentially be a mana bar
Idk I just live here
I really hope they have deep lore tho like I need a escape from reality
Whole game looks magical, does that count
It gives off a lovely, pleasant vibe ngl
Even more ambitious than nms 🤔
I'm sure they did that to avoid hype and craziness - and then what do we do as soon as we see it?
Lol
no, i know why
i just bet it was hard to lol
What I like is that we all be on one planet it may be massive but it least it’s just one and not getting lost in billion planet universe
the HUD in the bottom left changes in different enviroments, water vs air. just something neat i noticed
I wonder if there is a robust map system?
This is what I was referring to ty
What's the middle for tho
That's what I'm curious about
also, i think that little snowflake icon and notches is a temperature indicator
Could be yeah
i see sun i think day
Stamina?
i see night i see moon
Cool temperature meter too
Inside is the day night
I would think that is seperate. They have the hp in the top left like they did with nms I would assume stam will be similar to nms as well
also, i think this is the currently selected weapon. bottom right
I'm gonna live in your huts btw
also, desert
What huts?
If I build, it will not be a hut!
I will find you in FnaFL
notice the yellow/white bar changed when moving from water to air.
idk what that means, but keep it in mind
What’s everyone’s play style in fantasy games ranged/ one handed/ two handed or magical never played a mage but if the magic system is good in LNF I might consider
Stealth archer
Not another one 😆
and who's that little guy in the ending logo?!
look at him
Hope we have different difficulties when it comes to enemies
Yee my first Skyrim play through was one handed with restoration then stealth archer now two handed lizard hahaha
It's the traveller obv
Probably playable character
probably
That's a bold statement. We will have to see if they can follow through with the no boundaries
yup
At a scale never attempted before
I feel like this may become another NMS launch situation
Probably won’t happen but if we could raid other bases that would be sick
My thoughts as well. Still gonna be a banger
idk we'll see
they've already been working or at least "kept it secret" for 5 years
Same way they do planets in NMS I would guess
It's all there, but you don't see it all until you move around
i mean yeah
I need this game even tho I have a back log to get through I wanna play this one so bad XD
And if they keep our speeds under spaceship zoomies, shouldn't outrun the rendering
Dragons zoom
If you are expecting no pop in though.... let's be realistic - every big game has that
Who knows
Sean

Well one things for sure even if it launches in a mess it will eventually get fixed so I’m not worried
Lol
i wanna see the melee
The world loads in chunks like minecraft
i'd ride a bird instead of a dragon
I decided I want to make my first character the bunny from Monty Python and the Holy Grail....
just cuz i can
I will ride everything they let us, just like NMS
It will be a sub neptune then lol
This. Also the trailer has pop-in. 😛
Lmao
I think leaning into the NMS comparisons (with the name, logo, trailer style etc.) does help with the expectations. The average gamer is going to be like: OK, so it's NMS, but fantasy and less planets. If something isn't in NMS. For now, assume that it won't work in this game either. 😛
But it's not its more ambitious Sean said it himself
More ambitious theoretically yes.
But Sean said it so it must be true
But a general audience isn't going to think 'one really big planet' is more ambitious than 24098124091808023239330 planets. 😛
I'm just being a twat bro I agree w you
I just really hope the logistics are more vital in this game. Less ferrite dust and more biome specific resources.
My dream of being a space trucker is still not fulfilled in NMS because the resources are to generalized. And all the good stuff is locked behind Nanites. Which I can't space truck to get. 😔
I really hope there will be player trading to some degree, and player cities. So I can travel between cities to trade resources they cant get.
My light no fires dream😍
Anyways as said, if they make it actually earth-sized 1 to 1, it'd be approx. 197 million square miles. And if it took someone on average about 5 hours to cross 1036 square KM in Just Cause 2, it could take over a whopping 1,529,342 hours to do a full trip around the world in one straight line, give or take some hours due to mountains/oceans.
Or over 174 years.
Do you think they'll add a fast travel system or will you have to rely on dragons to go the distance
Odds are other than having to build fast travel/portal stuff, you gotta get there on your own.
Fast travel might be vital, but I hope it's in the same vien as NMS, typing in weird hyroglyphs to get places, and you need to be there to know it.
Rather than point and clikc
Also I am ready for potential mega civilizations to form from player groups/tribes/clans/ect. And for human nature to inevitably take over to go to war and ruin the planet out of petty spite.
As is per survival game tradition.
I hope there is no griefing. And I feel like the world will be big enough that time won't allow for it.
The golden rule of open world/survival games is to always be ready to fend for yourself, and be ready for the inevitable zerg rush of Russian players that will try and nolife the game and try and claim the entire game map as their empire.
I got a friend who wants to make an island kingdom already. I wonder how robust a clan system would be if at all
Rust should have taught you eons ago that such a hope died long ago.
Rust is a pvp ame though. NMS is not.
If people can attack each other/bonk things to break them, then it's inevitable. And if you can't hurt/break anything, then people get bored.
There will probably still be attempted griefing, but I imagine they'll have what NMS has where you can hide grief bases and set permissions on who can build in your claimed land
I wonder if it'll launch with VR support
I hope claims system isn't broken to where some clan can use endless credits/ect. to basically claim 5000 miles of an area and all but ensure as other clans do it that no new players can do anything.
This is a problem Minecraft servers have had for eons.
I won't get bored. So I'd rather greaffers get bored. Minecraft inevitably moved away from grief heavy servers. 90% of online communities have "no grief" mods equipped. You underestimate the pve community
It's fine. But there should be a way for people to go to war with each other/break things/ect. if allowed.
I disagree, it's a blight on Survival Games.
Otherwise, as I've learned with games like Conan Exiles and so on, most will just stay in their little self-sustaining forts and never leave.
But if anything, warring with clans/factions is a thing people enjoy, but should also be a way for those who don't want to be involved to opt out.
That way both sides can have what they want.
I mean, can even have it so that full clans/kingdoms/ect. can set whether to have an area be peaceful or war.
Conan Exiles mentioned 🙏 🙌
I'd rather they just not be play the same game as me. No pvp No griefing. You can't make everyone happy.
Given the size of the game world potentially, odds are you can have parts of the world be the usual exciting kingdom/clan unga bunga warfare, and other parts be unaware it's even going on and be fully peaceful.
Like how a lot of actual world history was, where some parts were full meat grinder warfests and others had countless centuries of being unaware of anything besides their peaceful civilization.
Tbh I also don't trust hellogames to make a balanced PvP experience. I played fallout76 in the days of legacy legendaries. I've dominated servers with guns that should never have existed.
I wonder if there will be player magic or if it's just like swords and bows
Either way, even if there's 100 million players on the world somehow and it's as big as earth in size, that means every player gets at least half a mile to a mile of land to themselves, which is a lot when you really think about it.
Yeah it'll be the same thing as NMS, a massive world with massive swaths of empty space between everything. Just now you can walk to someone's base instead of flying
I'm ready for mega kingdoms to pop up that make most fantasy kingdoms look small in comparison, because of the sheer nolife-tier determination some builders have in games.
I wanna see proper cities of people collaborating together, instead of sparse homesteads
I mean there will at the start of course be the inevitable flood of Minecraft dirt huts or whatever this game has like that. Before inevitably people start to join up.
Of course, as usual we'll inevitably get the usual of human kingdom, elf woodlands and dwarven mines if allowed to dig into the ground/ect. that are rediculuously huge.
I also like how the trailer showed we get to play as more than just generic human race, and also have animal races too.
And like every MMO to ever exist, there will inevitably be stereotypes of every species.
My only curiosity now with the game, is what else we'll get to do in this world. With fishing, magic potentially, potentially both writing books and even playing music, making full clans/tribes/kingdoms/ect., pets and animals, farming and so on.
that's just Sean
i wonder if we will be able to change our appearance when ever we want like in NMS
You'll stay a bunny, and you will like it.
the hand is sean
give me my Steam Deck thief
Bunny is gonna be the fantasy geks
I could see full kingdoms form/rise that all are of the same race/species. And then it truly IS a simulation of the planet Earth.
No
Racism simulator 😳
No
It truly isn't an MMO unless the races hate each other/meme on each other's traits.
Bloody Gleam was down all night long. Was my one and only chance to get a OLED Steam Deck. Now I'm stuck playing on PC like a nerd.
Well, they cant do that here
I'm ready to watch a full-on 1000 vs 1000 player war between the Deer Kingdom and Bun Empire over who gets to rule a 5 mile area. And meanwhile the dwarves are sitting down on a cliff nearby eating popcorn.
who is going to play as an otter?
I'm so pumped for this game
Irl discrimination is obviously bad but virtual discrimination ✨ enhances ✨ roleplay
I never buy games on release anymore, always waiting for sales. I'm getting this one right away though
As someone years back best put it, "It isn't truly an MMO with different races unless at least two of them hate each other's guts and want to destroy each other for petty reasons that happened eons ago".
Or in other words, Elves vs. Dwarves in various flavors.
Exactly
I'm ready for unironic, actual cats vs. dogs warfare soon.
you know damn well im picking the bunny race. or wolf/fox race i saw
Yes
I'm ready to go fox and then set up a shop/ect. somewhere on the planet for anyone who travels through there.
Let me be able to sell stuff to players so can then use profits for shop, and I'm 👌 .
There is a bunny race?
Yeah, you can easily see rabbit race in the trailer.
I wanna be the largest race possible. Wonder if that big ogre guy is playable
Skeleton here.
Also might play as a 🐴 race if it exists.
Anyone have any ideas what you actually do in the game? The trailer doesn’t show them doing much
Not yet.
My assumption is if it works like most survival games, you gather materials, build armor/weapons/tools/ect. to help you do better. Then hunt/fight things, build things/a home and then inevitably team up with other players.
And it'll likely be that it is easier to work together than solo to get things done faster, to goad people to form communities.
And if it goes as I think it might, it'll start with some basic tribes forming villages/outposts, then building up bigger to actual towns, cities and full-on kingdoms/empires as things escalate.
But since trying to get players, especially console players to work together is like herding a group of cats, it's gonna be a wild first few weeks before we see some full-on cities/ect. happening.
Looks to be a survival/builder type game. Similar mechanics to NMS's core gameplay loop, but with an end goal they haven't shown off yet if there is one
Essentially to tl;dr it, if you've played Minecraft servers that have a land claim/faction/town building system in place in them, it'll probably be kinda like that.
Also, someone on a video on youtube said something that I feel best summarizes this game: "If No Man's Sky is Warhammer 40K, then this is the original Warhammer."
i really really hope its not gender locked
Odds are you can be male or female of any species, unless it's obviously something like a golem or other not naturally made race.
If anything, this feels like it has the potential to be the ultimate D&D-like experience so to speak.
I wouldn't really hold out much hope for it being narrative driven. At most, a loose main story arc to explore the world
I love games with survival and PvP not like crazy competitive just with the occasional raid I always thought makes online games fun and worth playing as you have to protect your things and then actually on edge when playing just in case someone raids you lol I’m terrible at PvP but just love how makes the game more interesting
Can we already play any version of it?
No not yet
As long as the game doesn't end up like how Ultima Online did PvP-wise, I'm fine with PvP.
I like ark but not official that is toxic lol community servers with friends is fun
Can you explain that for people who havent played warhammer?
:)
i wish they had a release date at the end of the trailer :(
40K = space age full of countless planets, alien races and also most planets wanting to kill you/ect. Among other spookier things. OG Warhammer = fantasy setting with various races in one huge world.
I just wanna be able to team up with people claim land and conquer other lands and bases probs to big of a wish but here’s hoping
I could see it to where once you can get enough players together you can claim an area as a village/ect. And then build it up as your total population and the place itself grows to a town and then city and more.
I just wanna get my hands on it lol

Any info on release, platforms, anything?
So it starts off as simple unga bunga tribal warfare, and by the end you have entire 1K to 2K player wars like how Planetside 2 used to have daily over areas.
We know nothing besides it exists
Very sad, but alright. Hope pvp is not forced
Hope it’s on the switch 2 or whatever Nintendo is calling it XD
A war with two 1k player armies fighting over something huge would make the entire game worth it.
That's the kind of stuff that made games like EVE Online remembered for ages.
Most mmo have ability to turn it off hopfully be the same
They literally just announced that it's a thing, we know practically nothing besides doing a frame by frame dissection of a 2 minute video
I could see it to where kingdoms once formed can have their claimed lands be PvP-free.
So you can have safe areas to do things in.
:/
I would love to be able to do my own thing, without having to fear for my life at any moment
Steam game info says that you can play with others or alone.
Its not marked as MMO
Then do so? I don't imagine HG is gonna flip to a more hardcore combat setup
inb4 like real life history you either have to keep yourself well protected or hire a bodyguard to keep you safe while traveling.
NMS has fully optional pvp and I would expect LNF to have the same setup
Thats why I said "hopefully no forced pvp". @mint dune , youre right, forgot about that. But multiplayer would be even better >.>
Yeah thats the opposite of what Im hoping for
I'm ready to have a moment where some rich player has an over 50 player army protecting them and their wagon full of goods, and then some full nolife-tier rogue/thief swooces on in and causes chaos.
Can you make a game ? 😆everything your saying sounds like my dream game hahaha
Someone on fiverr surely can
It's the kind of thing that I've heard happen in games like EVE Online, Albion, ect.
At this time with how little is known about the game, the only real safe bet would be to just assume it's going to be like NMS but in a fantasy setting. Kingdoms, warfare, and the like is just wishful thinking and speculation
Either way I’m excited just to tame some animals maybe a dragon to fly around on
At the least, I'm ready to see who inevitably tries to start making the "main hub city" so to speak on the planet everyone inevitably goes to.
Yeah, gonna be interesting how that works. We wont run out of space in NMS, but in LFN?
It's the size of earth
Since they flat-out said Earth for the thing, it's approx. 197 million square miles of space to work with.
Comprehend the massive scale of a planet with billions of people on it, and assume that 0.01% of that population at most will be present
I can’t wait !
Okay, one curator stated the planet will be infinite. Would make sense with procgen
Is it next year year after year after that 🫠🫠😩
Then again, no need to state the size of earth if that was the case...
Given how little we know, my money is on 2025 or later. If it was next year we'd at the very least have a quarterly window
Assuming 500K players at most to start, that's over 394 square miles of space per player to work with. Or at least a few full Skyrim maps worth of space.
I want you to go outside right now and walk 394 miles
By the time you've done that, the game might actually be out
Yeah yeah xd
I just wanna go on a massive trail ride on my deer mount(if there is one) with some people and explore the map
I so wanna volunteer as playtester
I hope they have terraforming and players can build roads
Me too!
Imagine massive highway construction projects that dozens of people come together to work on
That would be sick !
I wanna have a secret underground base to do my whatevers from
Didn’t valhiem have something similar with making roads ? That could be cool to see in LNF
Yes valheim has roads
Valheim had the option make stone roads
Not sure what they did, but they exist
Reminder the largest city to exist on the planet right now, in Greenland, is about 330,507 square miles in size. You could fit over 596 of those cities in this map if they do make it that big,
Wonder how many people be on the server/world at once
That's also not accounting for population density, because a city of that size could comfortably fit the entire playerbase in it
They will likely have it to where each set area of land can hold X amount of players, and an invisible loading screen exists between them to ensure server doesn't explode.
Like anomaly instances?
I see
Odds are my guess is 10K players max per set KMs worth of space.
No idea but the multiplayer is bad so its an unreliable indicator
With how huge 197 million square miles is, you could have entire Skyrim-sized adventures in a small part of the map and not even know what is going on outside of there.
Literally travel to different countries in game
That's the fun part if it goes that way. Countless small slices of the map having their own potential towns, rulers, adventures and problems, and everyone unaware of each other, too busy with their own problems.
It's just like our world, fr.
Wonder what all the biomes will look like
Odds are Sean and co. want to be sure there's at least as many biomes as exist on this planet if not more.
We will prob deffo see the standard ice/forest/snow maybe swamp biome but since it’s fantasy I wanna see some funky craziness to blow me away
Like some cool flora that wants to eat you or something lol
Unlimited potential basically. Just hope they hold back on spiders.
I dont do well with spiders.
I see neither do I I think there cool as long as I’m protected by a wall and 10 feet away hahaha
I think i found something intresting.
Oh?
Bruh
😆
Game is called "light no fire" but there is fire in game ( fire sword and lotr like fire beacon tower)
And game logo looks like fire torch
Yeah

No mans sky actually has sky in it too

Looks like a ice cream cone with a planet in it 😆
It's the atlas with a new haircut
Love and hate game reveals like I’m thinking wooooooooooooooo but then I’m like arrrrrrrrrr it’s not out yet I’m so impatient
My problem is I want it and I want it now
Ooo also like how we get to use axes for tree chopping and everything not done with one tool gives it more survival game feel
Same same same
lol
When’s the next game showcase thing we’re we could see more content probably in like June or something for state of play or Xbox showcase
Also desperate like a LNF addict already 😆
I wouldn't hold out hope for more news until summer games fest tbh
Hype is a dangerous thing
Ano to dangerous and I always fall into it
Hype
What they showed is enough for me - it could literally have nothing else and I'll be happy wandering around the planet
Gonna have to play some Skyrim to get this of my mind lol
Imagine if the big game gimmick for LNF, is that we first "invent"/discover fire, and as the game goes on players can discover or invent new things that everyone else in the game world eventually can learn to do/use too. And so essentially you can have both technologically advanced utopia kingdoms, and primitive unga bunga prehistoric caveman war lands.
Also hyped for beyond Skyrim project literally so many things coming can’t wait !
Welp. It seams like nobody shares my teory on game logo. But i bet some ytubers will also catch that simliarity.
Essentially, imagine a player discovers a way to make a new tool, or building, or other thing. And once built, they can share if they want the info on how to build it with others or hoard it for themselves (where then people can raid for new technology).
True irl history simulator.
That would be cool
Imagine full-on wars being waged because both sides want to learn how to make pizza.
I see it
And of course, can make warfare quite wild as a tribe/faction/ect. learns a new tool, weapon or such, and uses it to their advantage.
Right I’m off to hopfully sleep and try not to be up thinking about this lol goodnight guys

Anyways, my assumption is that it'll start off with people teaming up for safety against the PvE threats in the world to form safe places like a village or eventual town to be able to not get eaten/destroyed at night. But once monsters/beasts are no longer a problem, the inevitable player vs player warfare begins.
One last thing before I go, love this idea
Also, I hope they allow a ton of culinary fun as well for this game.
and lots and lots of fishing!
And of course plenty of clothing/fashion too.
Ano I was suppose to be going but I have to once again say I’d love to see fishing and fashion 😆
Turns pvp off*. They can try
If anything, it'll probably be "you form a tribe/village/ect., and can then mark the claimed land as PvP off".
@unreal valve
Thank you!
So excited for Light No Fire. After sinking near over 700 hours into NMS, all I really want is that sense of exploration. To walk through a unique vista/forest etc.. so pumped!
Did they announce a rough date? Quarter? Year even?
No. The website https://www.lightnofire.com/ says Release Date: TBC
My assumption is 2026/2027, unless we get beta testing way earlier.
Also even if the mountains are actually miles in height, I'm ready to do the age-old open world tradition of Bethesda Horse Climbing(tm) those things to the top ez.
one think a good thing about light no fire is that there will be no rush compared to no man's sky
no publisher telling u hey u need to release it for the summer we need a big summer hit
u have the money to do it by urself u have the time and everything
Unless Sony is doing the PS6 any time soon, likely nothing to worry about.
nah because nms was playstation exclusive
and sony was kinda the publisher for the release of nms on console
not anymore there no rush and u can expect light no fire to be both on playstation and xbox and pc
I've got to admit, I'm not really a fan of Fantasy, especially the whimsical or self-indulgent - BUT oh my word this looks so good! Pretty much certain to be buying this day 1 to play. I see so many echoes of NMS in LNF, and something that is important to me they've continued to show excellence in the sound design from what we've seen in the trailer. The theme song is just sublime.
Talking of sound - in NMS, we have one of the main peices of music where the a woman sings "Ahhhhhhhhhh - Ahhhhhhhhhhh" - do you here an echo or nod in the sound at about 1m46 - just before here
There is the merest, quickest hint of a simialar sound
Watching the trailer again, if we can build full castles or even full-on traditional fantasy towns/cities that can rival stuff from Lord of the Rings, I will consider this GotY when it's out already.
The idea of full-on majestic/epic in scale kingdoms and cities made by player work alone excites me.
Massive majestic castles, giant sprawling tunnel system dwarf-like empires, massive fortresses made by the biggest nolifer-tier players, and more.
I wanna share image of what I saw, but seems can't post images?
But yeah, did see essentially rabbit player in part of the trailer, along-side signs with strange text you can place down too with buildings.
Approx. 40 seconds into the trailer shows such.
Light no fire is such a bland name tho
What would you call it, CardLetter?
Do yall think the thingy in light no fire is an earlier version or another version of the atlas
Or has some connection?
This is probably gonna sound like sacrilege but I hope they're completely independent of each other and only have aesthetic similarities at most
Nah. I think connecting the two together would just water down the lore of both, they'd lose more than they'd gain by having an interconnected universe
I think it could expand on no mans sky but still solify itself as its own thing
We'll really just have to see what they do
I think it's better for them creatively to not be constrained by the limitations of an existing canon
What I'm saying is I don't think they really are
the good thing is that nms and light no fire can be both benefitial for each other
I dislike the name as well, but then again, same with No Man's Sky - if you think about it. Besides, the trailer has lots of fire/flame shown here and there so I guess ya can Light a Fire. 😄
No mans land
Light no fire
It’s not even idk
Makes no sense
Neither name does
It does
And no mans land does? Is there a war going on?
that makes zero sense also
It’s space
Imply no mans sky made sense to begin with
LOL
There no man in the space
huh?
And we haven't seen a lit fire either
???
What do you not get
My mans doesn't even know what no mans land is 💀
Flame swords and fire beacon towers *
Oh I see whatcha mean. I still think in general the name conventions here are lackluster
Game logo a literal torch
You don’t either then
You know ww1 history
They called a line between 2 trenches no mans land
Cus there’s no man alive there
Yes so where's the trenches that no mans sky is between?
It would make perfect sense it’s a new un explored earth
And where would the trenches be in this game?
I’m so confused what are you getting at
You said it makes sense and you've confused yourself
wow
Not my fault
It is your fault lmao you can't explain what you mean
I literally did
You just don’t understand
Alright let me break it down to you
No mans sky
There’s no man in the sky
Because it’s space
Apparently y’all do
But if I'm in the sky is it my sky then
🤦♂️
Does it become my man's sky while I'm flying?
If you think so go ahead
You've spent more time complaining people don't understand you than you have stringing together a coherent thought
lol
Keep talking
You can’t comprehend what I’m saying
Read a book
Gain some knowledge first
Yes
"Gain some knowledge" - the guy who says words that make no sense to anyone but him and then gets mad when people don't read his mind to know what he means because he lacks the eloquence to clarify
Spit it out
Only you don’t understand
We're all really just blabbin bout a game here, sorry if I said offensive stuff, I actually just came in here due to the excitement of Hello Games saying what they've been workin on.
Astar understood me
Don’t say your sorry
Arguing is good
You can’t get nothing done without a debate
Saying dumb things for the sake of conjuring disagreement isn't a good faith argument
Blah blah blah
Spewing nonsense
😂
What a measured and intelligent retort
I don't want to
My guess is typical NMS stuff. Explore, document, collect resources, build bases, collect radiant missions.
Seems like it
Like Minecraft
But better
Cooler
Most importantly more entertaining
Lol. Why the minecraft hate?
Blocks
What hate, I saw that as a compliment... lol
Ahh. You mean the blocks are small enough that you cat see them.
People get sensitive about there games it’s alr
Yes
Especially having to jump over them
Mountains
🤮
The worst
Stairs*
(just wait until he finds out what shape pixels are)
But you do have a point. My jump button is worn down by the excessive jumping.
You know you can hold down for continous jumping right
Lol. Yes but not every jump is close enough to justify endless jump. Rather, maybe I should suck it up and turn on auto jump...
I hate to burst your bubble but there's a 99% chance LNF is going to be voxel based, just like NMS is. They just have terrain smoothing so it doesn't look blocky
My group of 8 survivalists is gonna be fun to play this with. I just hope there is enough to justify all eight of us day one. I also hope we'll be able to join in together an not be polar opposite sides of the planet.
If not, I guess I'll start walking 🚶
I believe "it doesn't look blocky" is gonna be the main appeal for them.
I'm fairly certain they've learned their lesson and will launch with the option to spawn by friends
Thas my hope
hello
Guys remember when I said I never played NMS well I picked it up and I’ve played for 3 hours straight 👀👀
went to another solar system
Forget how big the universe is
Another thought I just had: Given all the species/races in the game so far shown, what if you only understand your own starting species' language at the start, and the others come off as gibberish/ect. at first when players/NPCs of other races speak to you or have signs/ect. of their language? And you have to learn their language to be able to understand them.
That would be neat
Either by having NPCs teach you, or having a player with the skill to do so teach you one bit at a time.
slams card on table meme
And even if you don't learn it, the written language for each species isn't random but has a consistent way it's written/ect. And so you can likely guess what something means on signs/ect. once you get a good idea of things like what a shop or inn is.
iirc everquest 2 did something like this. well with the enemy npcs
As for the start of the game, you'll likely start off somewhere with enough resources to at least craft basic clothes, tools, ect.
Stuff like an ax for trees, pickaxe for rocks/minerals, the usual stuff.
And then after that, learning how to build essential things like a workbench/crafting table/whatever it's called in this game, a furnace, a basic hut for shelter, ect.
i do hope singleplayer vs multiplayer world is separate
I wouldn't be shocked if you start in a tutorial single player world, and then are encouraged to go to the main multiplayer world.
I suspect it will have a toggle like nms
I'm ready for how fast people climb the tech tree/ladder for the game as players team up/form clans/tribes, to see who is still primitive and who is essentially already using guns.
you guys working on an LNF server?
Yes
Mostly set up, hoping to make it public tomorrow - few bot things to do
Will be small in comparison to this one, channel wise - as we don't know much
Rad
I didn't get to start NMS at launch so I'm excited to get in on LNF at the beginning
I'm ready for when some new player joins the game a week after launch with just nothing but a loincloth and a rock, before a pack of bears wearing mythril armor holding M16s swarm the newbie and start speaking in loud Russian and blasting the Soviet Union anthem at max volume demanding them to drop their only thing they have to start with.
aka the true Survival game initiation by fire as per usual.
im hoping its gonna be like NMS where you can turn PVP off so you can prevent that
It's probably not going to be an mmo
I have a feeling it's going to be more like multiplayer
Where you have to party up and whatnot
im thinking its prob gonna be like how nms is, really big, so people are spread out and multiplayer/pvp is an option
looked to have a bit in common with NMS from the trailer so might be the same engine / multiplayer setup
I've played a game on Roblox that I remembered just now a year back, that gave me similar vibes to this game. And if LNF does something similar, we'll likely get a "spirit guide" at the very start to keep in fantasy theme, to teach us the basics then vanish.
Since they can't repeat the whole AI assistant thing for this game.
The song from the trailer
I didn't link the official upload because the video is a lil gruesome
Is there gonna be a ping or something?
I'll post here
Alright. Need to stalk this intensely then
Only nonbinary people in space

Same I only started playing in 2022

Real!
34559b8
I think i saw someone mention an hippo race in this, anybody got a screenshot of it in the trailer?
Sorry Sean, but can't stop won't stop.
I think it's just hit that right spot to drive everyone's imaginations wild with what could happen.
As long as there's plenty of building styles for walls/buildings/ect. so can have straw/grass/hay, wood, stone, metal, ect. types of walls, roofs, ect, then we cooking.
Maybe just me, but truly want it to feel like the world starts off in the stone age with tools, buildings, ect. nice and simple, and eventually blossoms into some truly amazing things as people learn new stuff.
I live for that all players coexisting on the same planet announcement
You also joined the day it was announced huh? XD
I'm ready for the game to simulate how civilization/humanity actually went in speedrun mode. Starting with tribes to survive the harsh world (and inevitable tribal warfare for resources). Then actual civilizations forming and growing as new technology is discovered, and things escalating from there.
I had been on here before when I played NMS on PS4, but had too many discords on my account so had to clean up and forgot til this game got announced.
Hi
thank you
happy to see that. also noticed it's climbing Steam most wishlist game
Yo HeRo 👋
Friend entity NinNin

I've had that small phrase stuck in my head and playing on loop since last night, lol!
I’m really looking forward to this, I just hope my parents will let me get it when it releases
Cool fan art from reddit
Flying thing in the back kinda looks like a Charizard
Already? Dang nice.
Yeah that seemed really fast lol
Rigogen's art is always great. love their "Ghibli" style
also, that Gek on the dragon is totally the same one from this one
Yeah same, I love the style.
reminds me of the original Hobbit animations
As it’s put down as a survival game wonder if it will have hunger and thirst mechanics
Something I would like this game to have as an option: proximity voicechat
I think especially for exploring, that could be REALLY immersive
My social feature wishlist:
Text chat
Proximity voice chat
Mail/letter system
World message system similar to Souls/Elden Ring
just elden ring as entire thing
I dunno how mail system would make sense though. Maybe you unlock it with a certain building or tech
Just put up a mailbox outside your house lol
Let passersby leave whatever they want in your mailbox
Cant wait for someone to leave dragon poop in

Ill hide my mailbox from you
In all seriousness though, I hope there will be shady goods for trade
Pinched off of Twitter
Lol
@vapid plinth
Good morning light people. Remember to not light any fires today!
Don't at me I ain't getting into this again I got called stupid last time 😂
I've not seen a picture of a cave or cavern. As a pale, middle-aged hetero spelunker, I'm feeling marginalised 😭
Just because it's red? SMH! Twitter can be a wild place.
I'm wondering just how deep the oceans can go. That's one thing we haven't seen in either the NMS updates nor the LNF trailer
They really need to extend those much much deeper
Possibly because the remembrance doofer is similar to the orb shown in LNF, and the Remembrance doofer is "a relic of another place" - which could be taken many, many ways.
Best to ask the poster on twitter of their convictions, as all is conjecture based a bit of video at the moment 🙂
Yeah!
Speculations are nice, there's a giant with knowledge stone marking
That looks cool!
Maybe it's the knowledge bro, gleam coined the term. 🤣
Knowledge Bro, I like it
Honestly, all the game needs is to be able to dig into/through the ground/earth itself to dig tunnels/caves, and the fun begins.
Just a thought, but I think I remember reading that Hello Games paid a well know author to write a deeper background story/lore for NMS. Wonder if a bigger, wider story was written than NMS presents. I do see a lot of nods/echos of NMS in the trailer. Looking forward to playing LNF one day 🙂
Still, above all else, LNF def. needs a way to replenish resources/things like trees and so on. Because otherwise as anyone who has ever played on a minecraft server for 5 minutes could tell you, the planet will go from a lush beautiful place, to 2B2T hellscape without any way to salvage the game because of how players are.
Because if there's one thing humanity is good at more than anything else, it's burning through resources faster than a fat guy burning through a Golden Corral.
Probably the same as current NMS. Assets regenerate after some time
Perhaps. But for me, I'd prefer to have to actually replenish it in more traditional Farm Sim methods. Aka growing trees/crops/ect. to actually be able to affect the world and not just have infinite resources.
I seriously doubt there will be anything like that
Maybe this time ground will be also saved in base build data. Since there is only 1 planet.
Ofc there will be a limit for it
They definitely need to find a solution to terrain edits, if they haven't already
At least allowing crops, plants and trees to need players to grow them. Also allowing players to actually affect the planet by essentially growing their own forests/farms/ect.
Some small group of players soon to be on their way to transform an area of land the size of Florida into the Mines of Moria.
But to be fair, I want to see actual permanent change happening to the world over time via player shenanigans. To feel less like the world never changes, and more like an actual world with history, change and so on.
In all honesty, I have only one goal for the game when it's out once the inevitable tutorial/setting up base stuff is over: Create a road/ect. that does a complete loop around the planet like -, and then one going | for the ultimate crossroads for everyone to use.
I wouldn't want that personally, I want to see what their vision is, not other players inevitably making crappy and trollish areas
"Look a penis mountain har har har"
If anything, it might be me, but I'd prefer to have it to where we get the one world, and after that it's up to the players to care for it and work with what they got.
Oh god
Even if the inevitable trolls/ect. happen, odds are it'll be easy enough for players to fix/undo mistakes with enough effort.
"You want to remove this giant dong mountain? You got the tools, so you can destroy it with your own two hands."
I hope there is singleplayer so I don't see anybody's anything
If anything, I want multiplayer to be the main thing. Constantly going single player only to avoid player interaction I feel is kinda silly. Especially when a lot of the game feels more fit to actually play together from what I've seen so far. And it's kinda strange to not want to even exist near any players because "oh no, I might see someone make a schmeat mountain nearby or dig near my house" or so on.
That kind of "I want to do everything on my own, and never interact with anyone ever" mentality is the kind of thing that hollowed out MMOs to the core, and also feels more like a "I don't want to interact with anyone in today's internet because of people being dumb" thing.
Given the potential giga amount of space the game world likely will have, you probably won't even realize anyone exists depending on where you start. And even then, you can just go somewhere else to avoid human/player contact.
Aka the "move north until civilization stops existing" plan people do in the US when sick of people.
After all, the world will be big enough that short of hackers happening, you can do your own solo thing.
197 million square miles is plenty of space to be left alone with.
Every MMO ever is full of griefers and d-bags and it's easy to find people if it's going to be a multiplayer focused game. Now, I want to play multiplayer, but if I find a beautiful area to build my home, I don't want the local guild/clan barging in and taking over
The problem with modern multiplayer in games is the potential negativity, it can make some players wary.
Given it took someone who knew what they were doing over 5 hours to cross the entire Just Cause 2 map and that was only 1036 square KM, it would unironically take years for any random traveler, let alone guild or clan to find your base.
I've a feeling the multiplayer will be similiar to NMS anyways, opt in, settings to bring safety - so this is all just chat speculation and wishes
I put my "home cluster" in NMS far enough from civilised space to not be found, but close enough to come visit should I ever wish to.
Still, odds are you can likely choose to PvP or not. And as for base protection, it'll probably be a "you can join with others for a tribe/clan/village protection and as long as that group still stands your base is safe" kind of thing.
I don't trust players not to find a weird exploit, so I don't want my home in a place players might find it.
A little thing I noticed in the trailer also - it was always adventure together - no mention of fight against each other...there may not even be PvP
I wouldn't be shocked if we have huge cities made by the inevitable few top clans/kingdoms/ect. that will happen as per tradition, while others go deep into the wilderness to avoid it.
Maybe gets introduced later, or there are dedicated pvp zones
My gut feeling is we'll get "areas that have valuable resources but PvP is allowed there" zones.
What if I just want to live in my little dirt hut? Alone?
Possible
Best get to hiking boi to some remote corner of the world.
Thats a sucky concept
Essentially you'll have big cities happening, and then huts deep in the wilderness by players doing their own thing.
That's assuming a lot
Sounds right, I am suspicious of guilds/clans. I have been burned way too many times.
I will be one of those people who just comes into town every 6 months to buy a shitton of supplies, and then vanishes into the wild
Enough years of Minecraft multiplayer, Rust and other survival games have taught me players engage in some similar patterns.
If such structures exist gamewise
It's usually "the few big/top groups form their own cities or fortresses, everyone else is in huts on the outskirts".
That's exactly why I hope this game doesn't go that route
Sounds boring, and restrictive
It's more-so players that form groups usually try to make giant castles/forts/cities and try to claim the land for themselves in survival games.
I dont want to be forced to join a faction or whatever, just to be able to log off without worrying to return to my base in shambles
Cant go here, clan blocked it off, cant go there, clan blocked it off
It be that way tho.
Much like the internet, it usually ends up as "you either join a main group/ect. or you're on the outside looking in".
Id wager money this game isn't anything like that
Us vs. Them is just eternal.
Also might be me, but I doubt it'd just be only 8 players to an entire 197 million square mile planet.
I hope they find some good solution so everyone who wants to live peacefully can do so.
My assumption is peaceful and "dangerous" areas. And if PvP exists, the dangerous areas will be where it be at fighting for later game resources.
So if you want to fight, it be there.
I am concerned about the possibility of larger groups bullying smaller groups, PvP better have heavy restrictions if it even exists.
That also sucks, because to get resources, you need better gear, and to get better gear, you probably need better resources. See the issue?
HG clearly wants us to explore the planet, not restrict people from areas
If MMOs and online games taught me anything, number difference can be solved with a good old bit of guerilla warfare.
If you can't beat them 1v1, be smarter with tactics.
Good luck when you do zero damage
If you can't damage them, let the local wildlife solve the problem. Or as MMO players would say, "train a group of beasts that can easily squash them and lead them to the other stronger side".
Just sayin, literally no mention of fighting each other
Good, I hope that prevails, including griefing
I'm also concerned about resources. If a rare resource is nonrenewable, be prepared for a few large groups to hog those spots and charge heavy prices.
Great Britain: He just like me fr
Cant you bribe Sean to give it to us now
wondering if it will be kind of like valheim
In some ways probably
Honestly, just give players something of a challenge, so groups don't just build giant forts and then never leave them/have any reason to leave once self-sustaining.

Why? If they wanna do that, why not?
I hope LNF will have a community as positive as NMS.
Last thing I will do if someone hunkers down in their fort to grow 5000 carrots is complain
without a doubt
I have doubts but to each their own
My only issue is having some group start building literally nonstop to cover stupid amounts of land/claiming said land before inevitably the group collapses due to irl drama....and then new players having nowhere to build when most lands is claimed.
It takes a lot more than moderation.
A problem Conan Exiles multiplayer had.
Is that related to the fort thing or seperate?
there is no release date or even release year, right?
I'm sure limits may or not be be put in place plus being the size of Earth there should be plenty for all of us 🙂
You can wishlist it though
yeah. i did so day 1, after game awards xD
Please DO NOT say that
Same xd
I want to believe that players/people on the internet won't leave the entire planet-sized game map a giant hellscape unable to be played/exist on. But then I remember 2B2T exists.
Any chance HG will do playtesting applications?
I have a feeling if there's a XP system then that will play into how much land you can obtain/own
1/6th Manhattan(assuming 10 million players) isn't as big as you would think.
Reminder 2B2T started off normal....and within 2 weeks tops it turned into a giant crater for over 500K blocks of square area.
That doesnt exactly solve anything
slows the rate at which people can claim a certain plot of land
For the crazy people it doesnt
lol true
If it does happen, as long as there's enough land claim for newbies to at least get started then it gud.
And those are the issue, soooo
Sounds like it would reward the no-life player while leaving the new/casual with almost nothing.
a tricky one HG i'm sure are experimenting with
Honestly, the true ominous problem is if physics happen with digging(if it exists). Where one guy with no life and spite towards the human race could dig down and then dig out the entire planet underneath to have everything crash down after.
Dont think we'll get our 450 bases on this game boys
especially on the scale of a MMO
You think it isn't possible, but some madman in Minecraft did so to dig out under an entire mountain just cause he could.
So maybe we don't get all players sharing 1 planet exactly?
Bedrock layer like in NMS and he can go fuck himself
I'd say whether we get one planet only or multiple, depends on how many players a server can handle max.
some madman also dugout the entire map of Minecraft classic
Ah, the good old "I will do it because bored and people say I can't" spite moment.
I was thinking maybe there are preset building sites, but 1. thats... Bad with procgen, 2. that doesnt solve anything if two people take the same house and 3. people will hate it
Having 64 people per instance sounds possible, and could make it feel a bit alive
There was one other game who did a similar "a massive world where everyone could build their own homes, settle down, have adventures, do whatever they want" thing. The only difference is, the devs/publisher for it went fully insane and charged endless $ for everything you could do/limited everything.
Don't remember the name of it, but I'm sure someone likely knows what I am talking about.
Aren't there multiple?
Multiple what?
Multiple such games?
Ohh. Probably
I could see the game being set in "areas" with tons of space per each and X number of players per area. Like how the game Foxhole does it to where it has massive warzones with X players from each side in each hexagon area playercount-wise.
That way areas feel lively/full of activity without nuking the servers.
I know Dual Universe tried something with a few planets of a bit smaller size, and when I looked at it, almost all land was claimed already.
this is something that i've been wondering about, will it be segmented or completely seemless.
Maybe fixed transition zones somehow
Odds are in segments but with barely noticable loading walls/ect.
Agh. But how with procgen
Thing is, all this could be foregon if the world was infinite
I could see areas being in 1KM, 5KM or 10KM sized chunks.
Also looking at it, 10KM areas would be easily enough space per section. As that's more than a fourth the size of a Skyrim map.
For how many players?
My assumption is 1K players per area, maybe 500 if have to keep it reasonable.
At max.
If the world was infinite, there would be a tiny chance for player encounters. That's what I think HG wants to improve: the chance of encountering another player and the reasons to collaborate.
If it being an MMO holds up, that is.
Yeah, given the whole "so infinite will never meet" incident likely stuck in Sean's mind ever since that moment.
But the system of player hubs is not a bad one.
i just hope and i'm sure it will go smoothly for HG, you could see how jittery and nervous Sean was on stage
What HG needs to do, is make player hubs more significant.
But not forced
If anything, what would be cool is to allow players to make their own hubs as cities once advanced enough. So players can do to those places to buy things, socialize and more.
Minimap? Cities get a marker? Hmmm?
And could even have it to where cities can link to each other, incentivizing wanting to travel to one.
Like fast travel?
Essentially a "portal" system. To where once a city is made, if you can connect one city to another, players can travel between them.
Yeah thats what I said xd fast travel
Also encouraging big groups to work together.
I also want it to be enjoyable for hermits though
I am more concerned about players claiming most or even all land than hubs pushing players to interact.
Seems some people want to do just that
It'll probably have a time limit once claimed where you have to do something with the land claimed that isn't mindlessly placing blocks or it ends.
And odds are mods/ect. will likely keep an eye out on such too. Only swoocing in for such and nothing else to let things play out naturally.
Uh
Not super likely
At most it'd likely only be a last resort thing in case some nolife-tier players try to block everyone from touching anything in the game.
I doubt HG even has the resources to sustain an MMO.
Which will happen if it's as some are thinking it will be
I have some doubts on the MMO part personally
Acronym never used so far by them
Note that you cant just pull ingame mods out of your ass
inb4 they actually do what the Native/Mesoamericans believed was done with corrupted/unsalavage earths, to "do a new one" in case the current one is impossible for any players to do anything anymore.
Not sure if old players would like that one.
"Sorry, we had to flood the planet and make a new one because someone turned all the mountains into schmeat".
Fun fact: The Aztecs believed we were on the 5th Earth currently, and each past earth ended a different way. Usually because one guy ruined it for everyone else.
Also one earth was ended via it raining jaguars.
HG is still a small team.
But anyways, besides that stuff, I am mostly curious how they will handle language, both writen and spoken by the various races in the game.
Unless it's everyone understands everything at the start, we'll likely have to learn the words/spoken stuff races that aren't what we start as say or write down.
As said last night iirc, there was a sign about 40 seconds into the trailer that clearly isn't in English. And we'll likely have to learn how to read what it says.
Tone down the language a bit, @wet flint. Parent channel rules & server rules still apply on this thread.
Bad

Sure, but AAA games usually have at least 300 employees working on them.
Yeah, but HG never claimed any of their games to be AAA, it's an indie game-dev company with a small team, and it makes indie games that are far better than many AAA games.
So join HG.
I have yet to see a successful MMO with less than a AAA-sized team.
MMO... LNF isn't a MMO, it's a single player game with co-op. They are advertising multiplayer experience, not a massively multiplayer online experience. 😦
They should specify that.
It will be same as NMS, we speculate, and nobody specific the fine prints.
Gotta read between the lines sometimes.
Marketing always fails to clarify what a game is not.
It won't be marketing otherwise 😉
The steam tags do have Single-player and online co-op though ^_^
That is interesting.
Here's the deal, if they pull off a MMO like feature in LNF it will come to NMS first because that will mean they have acquired rights to servers. What other place to test the servers than NMS.
If the next NMS update has anything remotely close to a server we can log into, it will cement the notion that LNF will follow suit.
i could see it working like. an area will act as a huge zone. and you can see players in that area. and when you move to another area like the grass forest to the mountains. it swaps and then you see the players that are in the mountains or something
MMO NMS.... that would be amazing
so in short it will probably work similar to how systems in nms are its own little "server"
where you only see players there if they are there.
and maybe the cities will act as the games anomaly
where you can see everyone and party up there
🤷♀️
I don't see the need. The player hubs system does its job well.
Making it a full MMO would also limit things like the mod support, save file editing etc. which are kinda staples of NMS at this point
but again we only can know whats in it by the trailer
im gonna be a magical bunny girl caster :)
Heck yeah! Hahahaha
Which didn't mention MMO nor show many players at once
This*
True, we've not even seen a hub with the amount of players as the Anomaly. Maybe 6/7 max on screen in the trailer ever. 😄
Yup!
It is going to be co-op! Consider the same stuff as NMS.
yeah thats where im going with it
I love speculation, of course - but I really don't think this is going to be a standard MMO as far as players go
hyped nonetheless
Same
One reason I don't see it allowing for players to block off areas
I do also think it's clever that the marketing mirrors NMS a lot. It sets some boundaries to a game that theoretically could do anything. I'm excited to see which elements the games share and what is new though. 😄
😎 hey gleam will our NMS discord levels carry over to light no fire discord
F no
Loved the little tease of Light No Fire combat. Hope that's sollid! 😄
😭

Fine
How will players even block areas off? Build walls? lol!
Is there a LNF discord yet?
soon

santa gleam is gleaming
Discord should be up soon, as this kicks up more traction. I hope.
Will it have the same staff as this server
I'm looking at today, needs some more tweaking for public access
Some yeah
Really happy to see 2.7 mil views on that Light No Fire trailer. Launching a new IP is always scary, but this is a really strong start. Well-deserved IMO. 😄
Mythos?
Yes
Because I assume you’re gonna be there
Am there
Also yes
Very blelele
ill be there definatley!
This time around Sean will keep quiet. "No promises, you get what you get when the game is released, and only then we will do an interview".
After he says bigger than earth
But dang, wasn't the reveal trailer a huge surprise!?
