#Archived Thread - Light No Fire

Finally! A rare gem amongst RPGs! Good thing HG isn't pushing the "main character syndrome" for us
Or maybe it’s a chose your path thing
Not too different to nms because anything I do near a sentinel they consider “evil”
So we can chose between good and evil
Probably neither
we get to be just random nobodies who forge their own path. I love this. No predetermined destiny to save the world from a great evil
||its the paid dlc for the atlas simulation||
I'm only here for LNF, hopefully there will be a proper space for it on Discord soon :)
||i think the red ball at the end of the trailer is atlas in an early stage||
Lemme give yall my full theory
👂
||the gek are now dragons and the korvax are knowledge giants. This is one of the alternate universes the Atlas can simulate. That's why the red ball and stuff was so prevalent at the end. It's the atlas but in this simulation.||
@silk crane
I hope for more than 4 players... but would love if the single world could connect all players through systems like the economy, etc.
Sounds really cool, ||could that mean the dragons are sentient?||
My heart cries when people say the game would be related to NMS 😭
C'mon guys. It's the artists style. You can see the same effect with various studios and their separate IPs.
I would assume so. We had sentient ships in nms
I'll rewatch the teaser later today and see if there are any vykeen
They're creative people. They definitely have written and created a rich and deep lore for this new and fresh world. Please don't try to force this flourishing piece of art into a pre-existing mold of an ongoing game and it's universe which already has a living evolving story ;-;
||Korvax giants are making me think is this earth like planet the alt universe Korvax Prime?||
NMS is a heck of a good game but it stands on its own two legs. Just like LNF will
That's rude to assume that nms lore can't be intertwined with this new game
No u
I'm just making observations from the teaser provided
I'm just teasing
What I expect is its own thing - but I'd bet there are Easter eggs/nods to NMS
Yep I agree... this is a clear departure from NMS, but leveraging the tech and all the learnings they've advanced
Can't wait to win this bet
Wow wow now. Well if it comes to this, personally I think it's rude to forcibly mould HGs artists unique work into an existing already great story.
Easter eggs and crossover events are what I'd expect at furthest
Ooooo crossover
Since this game seems heavy on multiplayer, I’m hoping for split screen (even though it’s basically non existent nowadays)
Hadn't got there yet
If the planet for LNF is not present in NMS, riot?
Go ahead
We just haven't found it yet 🙂
The giants in the trailer had knowledge stones for heads
Like that, yeah
Like... if people are so keen on not respecting HGs artist and writers spreading their wings... sure. Keep fixating on NMS. But that can be done on #no-mans-sky
I like NMS but there's no reason to try and force this game to somehow be NMS
I'm going to force it to be Skyrim, but good
||its not a stretch to assume this is another atlas simulation. Especially since it's hinted there are potentially multiple universes and realities that the atlas can simulate at any given point. I think it would actually increase the depth of both if the atlas is innate to both universes. Keeping both alive||
“Keep fixating on nms” this is quite literally a nms server, of course people (me) are doing that
That's a fair point
Ideally an 'Earth'/world would be equivalent to a server, e.g. how it is done in Minecraft
I still think it won't be intertwined like that
It would be quite difficult to accomplish, but I feel like HG can do it
YO WHAT IS THAT!
Tru tru. I just feel sad that some people don't seem to want this unique IP to be its own thing and respect the artists and writers work... HG is an innovative and creative studio. The whole studio was made because Sean was sick of working on sequels and same IPs year after year at EA.
That could be logical and a neat canon easter egg/hint.
As long as the LNF story has its own thing going on within its simulation

Do we know that the world of LNF is a simulation? I mean it makes sense
This was the best reveal at TGA
I was only watch for HG's lol
Good point, even if it’s completely unrelated to nms, it still looks like it’ll be a really good game, gameplay and story wise. At this point, we’re just trying to link LNF to nms based on similar visuals, but there’s no guarantee lnf is a prequel or sequel.
got more then I expected
also this xD
haha damn
It’s literally only been revealed but is there any hint of a release date 202….?
202….soon
I can see NMS everywhere in LNF footage. That makes me happy. It means the team behind NMS has moved to LNF.
And it isn't even that far fetched. The content style and direction of NMS has gone in a very different route as of late. Could be a new team on that whilst the og "studio heroes" moved on this new thing
I look it up and NMS was like 3 years and the last campfire was like 2 years
😆🫠
Their handiwork and style can be seen everywhere around. And all the experience from the past years!
it could be 5 years could be 1 year we don't know but you could use their last 2 games and say maybe 2-3 years is possible
I just want to learn all the lore
and it'll be a battle to build
Also is nobody going to talk about the skeletons in the trailer
I wanna grab a sword and a dragon and have to boss battles with my friends
the lil babies!
Oh wait I don't have any...
Omg I’m so excited I need to calm it
Wow meets NMS
Lol
😆
Avatar: frontiers of pandora 🤣
Hello meets games
For real tho this is gonna be day 1 buy for me
I hate i get so hyped easily lol
lol
Can't stop watching the trailer
Im gonna level up by a ton talking about how hyped I am LOL
Feels like this game is partly in response to some core gameplay criticisms of NMS:
Single-biome planets, lackluster story, mid combat, barren planets, etc.
honestly i prefer they take as much time as they need, instead of repeating the 2016 incident
Look at my day joined lol
Yeah thats also a fair point
We don’t know enough about a couple of these being addressed in LNF, but the first is evidently not the case for this game.
I undertsand where you're coming from
i dont mind it coming out in 2030 even, i just want it to be good
Oh wow
So one thing having an earth-sized game world should mean is, that we cannot travel it instantly, or even very quickly. It should mean something to go from one side to the other!
welcome!
Not necessarily.
i hope it does
Thx 😄
Tell me more.
2030 is pushing it a bit for me, but I agree
i do want long-range transportation to be harder than it is in NMS
Does it look like there are multiple moons? Or is it all the same?
Fast travel will prolly still exist in some form, but hopefully not as prominent as in Starfield.
Won't seem the case with the dragon speed
I never even noticed
I mean if magic exists, teleportation could exist
If there is no fast travel at all, then Hello Games will need to ensure that traversal is fun and not just grueling or boring.
Maybe we might see combat abilities where we can teleport towards enemies too
Thing is sci fi makes teleportation long distance and precise
nah, i mean like portals, and like that. dragons are fine, but my point is that i dont want it to be that easy to get to the other side of the planet in 3 minutes
but idk
Not rly the case for fantasy
is it been years and the game coming out today now 😛 ? ugh what am I suppose to do for the next couple of years. Bad Sean Bad!
Yeah Starfield really blew it in that regard.
But... I agree there probably needs ot be some sort of quicker travel... but imagine for a minute if it was actually challenging to traverse across large distances in the world... what that could mean for the economy, gameplay, etc. I just find that kind of idea super compelling
With enough magic, it can still happen.
It atleast left me happy despite the loss of my goty
i didnt see any nighttime shots that show any moon so idk
It wont be. My guess (which I've got a bet with @silk crane about) is that the "planet" will be thousands of different seperate regions you can 'warp' to that are all generated from seeds like nms.
It made the awards worth it
yeah I can't believe NMS was not game of the year...
BG3, BG3, BG3, BG3, BG3, BG3, BG3, BG3, BG3,
thats probably what it is mechanically, but at least curbing the fast travel's range or something
community iirc
Better dragons have better range? 😂
Fast travel in a game like this can be very creative. If a player can specialize himself into a cartographer and another into a wizard they can work together to research and craft teleport spells
Swap out different wing upgrade modules lmao
thats a great idea
I honestly dont care much about game of the year. Im to hyped about LNF to care

H Y P E
it's all about LNF!!!
You gonna be hyped for a couple years
im not sure if LNF's gonna be that magic oriented but that would be cool
give me icon 😮
Remember valheim or whatever it was called. It reminds me of that
same
daytime shows plantary bodies
timestamp pls?
We saw staffs i think
yup
I CANNOT wait to cross the boundary of the initial biome to another, the sense of discovery in this seems like a major sell point
Im gonna be yelling "YOU SHALL NOT PASS" whenever using that staff tho
New autophage staff parts????
we saw staffs a couple times
/s.
lol
There were bows too no?
Maybe a class system
rewatching now, they were just spherical buildings
I don't think staffs will spit arrows XD
yeah, i cant see any moons.
I think my mind assumed moon because of NMS when i saw the round objects
shhhh, dont you come at me with that common sense of yours
which is fine, this isn't space related
hi very excited, im Nexoi
No discord as of yet
ic ic
They better have dwarves in this game. And then have heavy metal dwarven music.
Magic beatbox
Bytebeat i mean
So somebody lighted the fire anyways
What are p requirements
*pc
FOR
No Light Fire
Oh... sorry...I mean light no fire
none listed
Light no fire is unique but
You don't need any systems to play it 🤯
A bit bland name
Lol
The name is fine
Gleam came out of nowhere with that LOL
i like the name; poetic
Depends on the Lore too - might make more sense once we learn more
*Dies of death
Fire is (in mythology) considered a gift of the gods - or stolen from the gods
I'm saying i constantly forget the name despite the hype
No Mans Fire
LOL
Light No Sky
Im calling it No Mans Fire from now on
No light sky
Lol
the next game will have "no" as the third word lol
Yes!
Darken Yes Water
Let there be...
https://media.tenor.com/LoDcEb_kyNwAAAAM/ice-age-sid.gif
This moment in the trailer is prolly the most NMS-like.
Ikr
But still look amazing
I think it's not as big as nms
But less map ... and more depth
yeah its only one planet
No mans sky map is as large as a galaxy
Maybe more planets will be added later on
Maybe like in a DLC?
I wish they could merge both
No
Don't get greedy, no game has ever done an actual planet sized planet
No Man's sky...
LIGHT-FALL ... Uhhh dlc?!
Where this come from
Seriously??
It's that big?
yes
That's what was said, time will tell
Larger than earth
They technically could would regions of procedurally generated land
Apparently
technically Minecraft can be larger than the Earth if you travel far enough 😉
Although it's flat
Seema like...Minecraft....UPGRADED... VERSION 2
So I imagine it will also be like minecraft. where you create your own world thats randomly generated, and then you can invite friends?
Minecraft don't loop
Houses are sooo Minecraft like
You ever made it to the far lands?
fair
Look nice as if RTX ON
Minecraft RTX on
0:46 in the trailer, one of the shots that go by really fast
Minecraft but you can actually ride the dragon
Well if we are going technically, so can gauntlet
But nothing after a certain distance will be there
You have to go back
i hope that its one big planet, that everyone is on. probably segmented into different areas, for each serverto handle
Well I am interlooper G-ready
😂
It's almost same as Neptune
At current cordinates
Bigger than the universe, if you keep going
Wonder how it'll be done. Gonna be complicated to render players at a border and not even in your server chunk
well, theres the borders, and at one point it just stops generating so not really
yup, definitely a challenge. looking forwards to see what HG is gonna do
Minecraft rival?

idk. as long as its good
Ender girl
Stupid autocorrect
theres no way they can have all the players on one planet, right
No way indeed
Ayo whats going on with autocorrect 🤨
Gonna have to segment it some way
thats what they said its gonna be.
Too much swipes
Nms has more square meters of land if you count all the systems and there land
there'll be quite a bit of technological trickery to make that possible
Anyways... hopefully I get to see it in its full glory
Calculate the square meters of the entire observable irl universe
I love those shots....
More than every game combined ever
Totally buying this on day 1
It's at least above 2
I hope its on par specs like nms.
2 square meters
I hope its not super high reqs
Only game i know i cant run nice was starfield so im confident i can run this
Woohooo!
can't wait to climb to the Atlas and be told "hewwo liddle one did you miss me uwu"
🤨 ayo
eyy

I mean, don't get me wrong, if its really like the size of the earth
and you only have 50,000 people playing....
maybe we won't run into each other much
This looks pretty great.
I was telling a friend just 2 weeks ago that I was thinkng of picking up Skyrim PC enhanced or loading up Witcher 3 again not for missions at all but just to wander the wilderness, wander the planet as far as it would allow me. This is basically HG's take on the kind of wandering I wanted to do -- but without any limit anywhere on a massive planet, it seems.
Oddly, it seems this is just what I was thinking I'd like to do. And here we are. I think I will dig this one pretty hard.
So.. BOATS. We're gonna need boats!
I saw a few boats in the trailer. rafts rather
ooh new game
lots of NMS references too with the knowlege stone guy and the atlas looking thing at the end
Atlas but round
lol so damn hyped ive watched this trailer like 30 times at this point

LNF utilizing extreme levels of furry bait. Am sold.
(would be sold already given it's a heccen Henlo VideoGames title)
I was sold the moment i saw a furry character
Who am i kidding its hello games im quite proud of them
There's no release date right
correct
im hyped!
Id rather suppourt a indie dev than a AAA dev
It appears there will already be other buildings and towns there, so its not like we'd all have to start from scratch
Wonder if we'll actually see the big hand holding the logo at some point
There's a guy on it so maybe?
Nope
Id guess not super long though, or they wouldn't have shown it
Late 2024 is what I'm guessing at
ya
I'm getting more chuffed about this the more I watch the trailer. Having had my aforementioned wandering world exploration desire just very recently ( #1182531870613831740 message ), this seems perfectly aligned.
My recently upgraded CPU / mobo / RAM is up for it for sure. But ... might be a good time as it nears to consider replacing this GPU...
Could be
I'll be ok, but I'm hoping this is also next gen consoles
Like my couch gaming
I'd imagine it will do quite well on the latest, current consoles. Not even sure what the whsiperings are about the next generation or when it might arrive.
Innes has gone on a many months wilderness hike in various parts of the world. I follow him on Insta and see some amazing shots. I wonder if he was gathering info for the open-entire-world game lol??
Surely, I'd say.
This is cringe lol
guys spamming a subreddit for the new game because I guess he did not get the name first and wants control lol

Now will have 2 splintered communities because they prob did not even take 10min to talk to the other subreddit lol
Reddit drama. Hard pass
Gleam should make the new games subreddit
Takes too much of my time 😛
I stopped paying into Reddit Gold recently, when they destroyed it
gleam is on timeout
gleam failed us with the steam deck page being down
Reddit had golf?
That's funny cause my phone changed golf to gold
That's better than alchemy!
lol
Yes. Finally a use for golf
I can't wait to see the combat.

For combat I really want your companion to fight with you
Maybe your companion could have a skill tree or something
autocarrot moment
I want to hear what the planet is like
Since this game will be fantasy I wonder if we will have fauna or environments like in the Avatar movie?
This looks absolutely glorious no notes. Except the first sentence of the steam blurb doesn't look gramatically correct. " about adventure, building, survival and exploration together."
Or is that just my brain not computing? 😛
But seriously, this looks like a blast. 😄
They put da Ark in the NMS
does this have more than 48 planets?
One planet.
It's one massive to-scale Fantasy version of Earth with dragons and shit, it looks cool
No Man's ARK: Survival Evolved
Yee, lol
no mans valheim survival evolved lmao
Now now don't go and make overhyped claims

trailer looks really interesting, ngl
We 100% will have procedurally generated dragons
I think I wanna change this bet gleam and I got going on
Would love LNF VR
I have a feeling that the pet breeding system from NMS will be brought in
Bro im about to write out my exact speculation on the new game in a bit
And I bet I'll be right about it
I hope they release a planetary view of the map
I wonder if there is one or if it gets generated as it's discovered
Quite pumped up for actual combat
Also as said by others it does look like a hellogames verse is going on
yeah i think they gonna do connected things around procedural generation
like no man's sky light no fire and maybe other games that will be in this sorta universe
Alright so my speculation is as follows:
*Same cinematic universe as NMS
*Procedurally generated planet with large separated regions that you can travel to. But it's not a seamless planet. Think star systems in nms.
*Regions will have specific biomes. Like the 4 or 5 we saw in the trailer.
*All creatures will be procedurally generated.
*Dragons will act like starships in nms. With different types and classes.
*Looks like there is a weather system implemented, however weather does not look to affect you when in flight.
*There will be procedurally generated dungeons and they will be tied to the Psuedo Atlas
*Building system will be similar to NMS where only uploaded bases will be able to be seen by other players.
*4 player coop.
*More tool options. A couple being a torch, axe, staff, sword, and others.
*Bunny race with a player hub similar to the Anomaly. I would even expand this one and say the hubs would be a mix of space stations and anomaly. With being only a few per region.
i think u will be able to fuse weapons with maybe fire cold etc
Definitely will release next year.
Given NMS marketing, HG wouldn't dare to showcase the new title until every feature was basically solidified and ready to show.
Hence the game must be nearly ready feature wise and only need the final optimizations, qol, localization and other touches.
Also I recall Sean mentioning few years ago that they wouldn't want to do a lengthy marketing campaign for the new game like they did with NMS.
official website
Honeybadger don't give an F...
Wonder how many people be able play on a world at once also this won’t be PvP like similar to ark with raiding or is it going for more pve exploring or we don’t know yet I don’t know what no man’s sky multiplayer was like
well no man's sky does 32 players
on one solar system
i expect maybe they double it to 64
PVP was a toggle, I suspect this will be the same
They did the dragons dirty
I wonder if it will be in VR at launch? I wonder if it will utilize ray tacing hardware if present?
If you look it's just NMS starships with a dragon skin bro 😭
Do we know the playable races all I remember is seeing the rabbit people lol
The dragons remind me of that one Tod Howard parody song that mentioned how Starfield would have spaceships with dragon animations xD
😅
Rabbit, Otter, Badger, something with horns, possibly skeletons..
You can literally see the takeoff animation when they show the birds
that why im almost sure light no fire use the no man's sky engine @vapid plinth
I'm not mad about it I just can't not think about it lol
Some sorta wolf
and in a way im glad they do
Don't fix what ain't broke
100%
because what u improve in light no fire
You see my region speculation?
Exactly!
Tbh I think it's more of a camerawork thing. The camera is way too stiff and ship-like.
If they did some interpolation or other smoothing, it would look waay better
u can improve in no man's sky
both games can benefit each other
in a way light no fire could make no man's sky be supported longer
Idc I'm playing it either way. There's definitely a charm about nms games
Please god no avatar
Same! Will be instant buy
Just a hunch, but when LNF launches I think we'll see massive/serious improvements in NMS' engine and graphics. Right now they don't want to tip their hands
already wishlisted on steam. Wish I could just go to cryo sleep until the game releases
Probably not
Doubt it. When it launches they will be focused on it and making sure the launch is smooth and fixing bugs and such
2024 will be cool for fantasy
i expect some improvements alongside light no fire
Dragons dogma 2 then this
Agreed, as sad as it might be... Things like multi-biome planet, boats, prettier graphics etc. will definitely be exclusive to LNF.
There's already so much similarity. It would hinder the marketing potential if all the things could be found from NMS
Imagine you sell a red car right? And people LOVE that red car you make. But you have people that also would like to have a blue car instead. Your not gonna just rebuild a brand new car, you will just make your current cars blue as well.
100 percent rafts will be lit
this looks gameplay for sure
Avatar is so pretty and creative though
What's vr
Oh yeah that thing I will literally never be able to use
Maybe just the style of the game? More combat based than NMS, but that's a weak reason, I'd take my chances to see this in VR 😄
i can see it in vr
Guys it's a first look teaser they aren't going to list out everything it can do
They will probably have vr
would look wayy too fancy if it was prerendered. Also I could notice tiiiny bit of pf that "nms engine" pop-in
😅
I'll be really surprised if this isn't out next year. Hype train choo choooo 🙂
like the first 30 seconds i could see yeah its engine and probably just straight up gameplay
im ok with it being 2025
even if GTA 6 coming soo 😬
Same model animations
upper cloud rendering tech from post NEXT era! The very early water rendering from nms prerelease footage

and that the good thing about having the same engine
We know for sure we can:
A. Walk
B. Swim
C. Ride creatures
D. Swing swords
what u upgrade and optimize in light no fire has big chance of going to no man's sky
yayayay hype
And build
we can do like in zelda
Shoot bows
It's just nms reskin yall gonna be disappointed if you overhype
Come on baby Light No Fire
Yiss. Adapting to modern open world things that Zelda botw innovated on. Wonder if there's also that good old stamina climbing thing
thing is light no fire looks already quite developed
this doesnt look like a game in alpha
it looks like a game quite late in developement
It's nms reskin
maybe
It is
Yup, and lately Sean's just been posting emoji's before a NMS update drops. Seems they like to be really prepared before revealing something
its gonna be more combat focused i feel like
@outer cliff Here's my speculations regarding the "readyness" of the game
Overhyping
Underhyping
It’s going to be soooooooooooooooo good!!!
At least 100x better than NMS
AT LEAST
Unrealistic
No reason to reinvent the wheel if only about a dozen people work on LNF.
The team has once written and optimized things and proven them to work. Would be insanity to simply rebuild the entire engine etc.
Not complaining. I'm just stating an observation. I'm still getting the game
Same. A good observation tho
All these people who think itll be some crazy seamless open world skyrim esque rpg are gonna be disappointed
Hello Games seems to have an overarching theme of discovery and exploration in their games
i could see it being more lore driven
Honestly, I'd be okay with an NMS reskin. I've played NMS for years without getting bored; A second run with all new visuals and such would be fun as well.
idk. Im just viewing everything from the devs perspective rather than consumers. Kinda having that good old release time victim syndrome resurging where the community fought for HG tooth and nail 😅
This
Hence all defensiveness and corrections
It's what they say on the site too
Yeah doubt it will have much in the way of rpg
Instead of glyphs for multitools I bet there will be coords for specific dungeons that drop certain procedural weapons
Calling it now
I can already imagine myself setting out for a big adventure after some legendary amulet that someone found in a dungeon from some coordinates
Heckin heck
People be looking for s class dragons 😂
Looking forward to 3d printing some LNF stuff 😄
and perfect maneuverability
Spot on 😂😂
Liiitttle worried where the storage compartment is..
Tail bag! tail bag!
Or swallow it.
Ong I'm screenshotting all this for when we are right at launch
nom
Bout to name gleam something nefarious when he loses this bet
I wanna find a short chubby dragon that looks silly when flying high in the air. And also a majestic one for some jealosity from players below
So...Shuttle and fighter?
There are birds too
Really wish the experience would be more "closer to ground" whereas flying would be something that isn't immediately or so easily unlocked
and other more insane spells etc
If you watch the trailer. The dragons do the same thing starship do when you fly over mountains lmfao
makes the act of achieving flight and seeing the world from a new perspective so much more rewarding
I'm waiting for my starter bird to be named Radiant Pillar.
100%
Radiant Birb
Ringneck Pheasant. It crashes into things. A lot.
I just imagine Sean singing Supermoon as the dragon flies
shields down
Magical voice echoing gently
"Dragon scales down"
I hope that the way to get new ships - I mean dragons - will be collecting eggs from nests
No free slots in bag inventory
Have it to be where you can use something like the distress towers to find nest locations
Goldpieces...received
I bet the pseudo atlas will suffer from the same problem nms atlas does
Every time someone says "pseudo atlas" I think "Pseudo Echo", and Funkytown plays in my head.
I'm the only one referring to it as that rn
I disagree with a few things here but being in the same universe (HGverse?) makes a lot of sense
Like what
So you're the culprit.
Mostly about the seamlessness and how dragons work
Alright I'll remind you when I'm right once it releases
The only thing I don't know how it will work is freighters
Like what are we gonna use to showcase our dragon ships with???
Dragon lair freighters.
I feel like the mounts will work like a mix of animal companions and ships
Probably and that's a bummer
Being able to summon them wherever but not able to see all of them at once will be sad
But the dragons 100% won't follow yoi
I mean mostly in terms of eggs, traits, breeding etc
Rewatch the trailer. They are stationary when grounded. They are starship
Oh yeah I agree there
I mean just in terms of how you get them and might be able to trade etc
Can we salvage dragon scrap????
Take them to the dragon scrapper?
Bro that'd be morbid af
Dismantle them for glue 😭
Nah swapping out hearts and eyeballs and stuff bro
Fr though it'd be cool to be able to trade dragon eggs from a cool dragon you've found
Might be armor swap and such. And I'd hazard you'd have a dragon trader that you could sell them to.
Especially if they're from a dangerous region or something
Like a used car dealership.
Imagine being a used dragon salesman
Jerry's Used Dragon Emporium
Living ships. They'll have intestines that improve flight efficiency
Swap them out for s class intestines
"Come on down to Crazy Eddie's Dragonarium! We got a dragon to fit any rider! Bringeth thy kids!"
sean looked absolutely elated at the game awards
i love him so much
he's got a level of enthusiasm that other game devs seem to lack
He's no longer verbally abuse by keyboard warriors
aye
and may those who still bring up the launch of nms and still shit on the game never get any bitches
like bro
IT'S BEEN DAMN NEAR 7 YEARS
WORSE GAME COMPANIES EXIST
WORSE GAMES HAVE RELEASED AND DISAPPOINTED THOSE WHO WERE HYPED FOR THEM
FIND SOME OTHER GAME TO SHIT ON
The aesthetic looks so cool. It's in the same vein as the e3 NMS almost, with a fantasy spin
Also I wonder if that floating house could be a freighter equivalent lol
Okay I have a theory
I think Sean is planning to fuse the two games into one project
I do honestly think they are going to be connected somehow
Just the way he talks about his vision, I think he's using NMS to build out the galaxy aspect, and using light no fire to expand on the single world detail
that's quite obvious with the big red orb thing
Maybe through all of this stuff about a new Atlantid to replace the Atlas, or it'll be within the NMS universe or something
If the void mother returns and starts a new world or something
They're siblings
That's what I'm thinking. The monoliths have a similar aesthetic too
new simulation let's go
it's quite obvious it's important, as its reveal is almost identical to the atlas, with it showing up at the end of the trailer
also there's the fact that there's like
monolith golems
I mean just imagine the level of detail in LNF, on every planet in NMS
I'm sorry but no those are L takes
it's very unlikely that this game will have a launch at nms
hello games learned from their mistakes
Yeah I'm only really on about a canonical connection
I mean, I wouldn't expect to see that from them for like 10-15 years
Complicates the lore too much. And we are still far off from games with seamless planets
I'm thinking like long term plans
It'd be cool to see a similar mythos to NMS explored through a fantasy lens
Ah yeah I guess..
LNF looks fun
That doesn't really like up does it
can't wait tbh
Simplest solution is that there is NO connection OR that the pseudo and true atlas are the same
Fantasy vs sci-fi
I'm mainly thinking that it occupies a different simulation to the NMS universe, but it's still in the same multiverse(?), like how our earth is supposedly a simulation there too
Altho to be fair, I don't necessarily mean that they'll straight up combine LNF and NMS. My theory is more that they're using each project to learn, and long term, their vision is to create a brand new project that essentially combines the two
This is most likely answer
HGverse ftw
I do think that some features will get brought back into NMS at least, like water shaders (pls Sean)
It probably won't be super touched on. Like we wont get explicit confirmation. Just vague statements alluding to the existence of other universes
Probably yeah. I'm thinking it'll be along the lines of how Half Life and Portal reference each other
Like they're the same universe but you only know if you look hard enough
Probably
Hello there, good old ship speed line particle! Been staring at those since 2016. Could recognize them in my dreams!

Nothing wrong about that. Just feel a bit too scifi/spacelike for a fantasy rpg
S Class Dragons confirmed
Living Dragons
My prediction!
Fighters = Sleek speedy dragons
Haulers = Big fat dragons
Explorers = Small light dragons
Shuttles = Ugly dragons
Exotic = Rare looking dragons with fancy body features
Sentinel ships = Dragons used by some enemy race.

light no fire kinda like an expedition
u start on the same planet
difference u cant leave the planet
what if it's something like EVE online, where it's all one server on the same planet
unlikely as that would require a hell of a lot of resources
why not
iirc EVE needs a super computer to run its universe or something
i remember sean saying they using i think microsoft servers for multiplayer
like the azure servers?
Simplest solution is typically the right solution
I suspect they use the same pseudo-mmo approach that they do with NMS.
Player structures and other stuff saved on servers. Instancing done dynamically based on location.
most likely
the more i think about it the more i think ur right @warm mountain
about light no fire releasing next year
Early 2025
ye
would hope for more like increased instance sizes, guilds etc.
A perfect thing for a huge shared RPG world. How else do you coordinate big dungeon raids or village builds
👀
magic is a given, there was the staff, sword with fire going on, then the floating stuff
Sparky sparks
a reasonable and more ground magic would be lovely, rather than huge spells that barrage meteors and lasers from the sky.
Ends up being a mining beam 💀
I'll die if I grab a staff and it shoots a beam of mining energy

lmao
Geology cannon
just in that one part of the trailer with people building, there was at least like 8 people
Yup. I've seen a max of 8 as well.
Then there's the clip where they're hunting some animals with bows. There are 5 people
so definitely more than 4
32 is my realistic bet if they utilize everything learned and optimized from NMS.
Unrealistic expectations and wishes range from 64 to 100 or more
B b but it's gonna be a mmorpg where EVERYONE can see EVERYONE
/s.
I wonder if it'll be servers like DayZ
No
so how would they do it
💀 the press will grab a random reddit post hyping this type of stuff and spin it into a "Promise by Sean"
Like they did with nms
hm
Microsoft Azure cloud service for player data like buildings etc.
Proximity based Peer to peer instancing for low server costs.
Like NMS basically
The studio literally has just one network/server guy.
interesting
Imagine this Barb
You know how you have a massive galaxy right? Split into millions of star systems yeah?
Relatively cheap way to upkeep servers whilst offering a rich and deep enough online presence for players.
yes
@visual gorge
Any plans for Light No Fire discord server?
You can't see every planet. But you know each star on the galaxy map is a system
👀👀
Darkness, No Ice Cubes
Maybe... We'll pin a link to one here when there is one in place
yes
You got insider info ? I'm making bets
So instead of a galaxy. Imagine it's a medieval fantasy world. And instead of star systems it's regions
i see
i see..
IC
i like fantasy
Gleam gonna be renamed something nefarious once he loses the bet I hope you know
love to be a nobody who builds their own destiny rather than predetermined hero who saves everything
Red No Hot
Gleam No Singularity
It's a secret
Kimetsu no yaiba
expecting eventually more earths with more biased biomes orientations
No
right
like dark world / shadow land version and such
an entire planet is a big undertaking
Nah it'd be like harsh/normal/lush/or dead
like actually making it fleshed out
they can go down
and up
underground areas
eventually maybe adding floating islands
etc
thought it was fully proc gen
stuff like that
yeah i don't know if there is any underground areas though, didn't recognize one
i don't see why they couldn't eventually
It is
The planet is. The content and gameplay rich elements must logically be handcrafted. You can't make quests and meaningful progress with just Proc gen
Nms engine very much had caves
They did with nms
Working ones
Exactly
It said it right in the trailer it was. People gonna be in denial
yes exactly
they could do something like that here
or do an area like siofra river in elden ring
just some underground area is what i'm getting at
But make it so the caves are full on dungeons XD
Set on a fantasy planet the size of Earth, it brings the depth of a role playing game to the freedom of a survival sandbox.
A truly open world, with no boundaries, at a scale never attempted before. A massively varied and dense planet filled with immersive biomes, unique enemies and valuable resources to discover.
Thick with lore, mystery and a constant fight for survival. Inspired by the adventure, charm and imagination that we love from classic fantasy.
This literally screams so much deep meaningful gameplay content
So Sean is a light mode user...
And as how every fantasy world, there's definitely going to be some type of Hell/Oblivion/Dark dimension, maybe in a future expansion if not on release.
So people craving for different "planets" will have their fill
Or like the elder scrolls series where there are multiple plains/dimensions
Atlas dimension
My eyes
another planet literally just wouldn't make sense with this game
And yeah. Underground area! gimme that traditional glowy mushroom huge cave system thing
Then just call it a realm
the draw of the game is it being the size of earth lol
Oh yee. Realms, dimensions, plains
So... do you think what we have so far, we could call it "massively multiplayer"?
all works
see this would make sense tho
Lol no
just wouldn't be as big as the original planet
You could. Just like they did with nms...
like this is supposed to be bigger than anything attempted ever
Don't drink the koolaid
Or Sean's own term for NMS, "A lot of players online".
My own term would be "pseudo-mmo".
They might wanna avoid calling this one an mmo despite having relatively huge online aspects
it's not gonna be the size of a nms planet
Except nms and every voxel ever
"We're going to let everyone play in it together" is how Sean worded it.
Yep agreed!
Lmao your drinking the kool-aid.
No sir. Just pointing out this will be different than NMS and trying to have a discussion on how we interpret info we have thus far.
I'm @ing all these L theories when it releases
Be hard to do if it's complete open world no loading zone
What he said and what was literally shown to us are 2 different things.
Funnily enough, NMS planets are actually relatively small in comparison to actual planets. Like... really really small. The largest ones are more like moon sized in reality.
yeah that's my point
they won't have multiple planets for that reason
its gonna be huge
And you could interpret that statement multiple ways
He's earned credit from me at this point.
maybe "dimensions"
NMS mountains are like... little hills in comparison to LNF's "real mountains"
People online =/= mmo
but not another whole planet
yeah light no fire planet could be the size of maybe 10 moons of no man's sky
and i wonder if sean said in a way that they want to develop no man's sky for the next 10 years too
It will be planet sized
Sounds much larger than even the largest NMS planets
Yep. This is very interesting... video game mountains are tiny tiny. There are technical reasons. If they really do this and provide that kind of scale, that's something new.
Those are tiny. This will be earth-sized
Would it be possible to mix server zones to make players play in two at the same time? Looks like one of the only way.
like i said
It will most likely be isolated regions
Nope
Moon != planet
calculate the size of 10 bigest planets in no man's sky into one u probably will have the size of the light no fire planet
witch is huge
and even the planets are pretty small tbh
that why i said 10
Nope
Usually small scale of things is there for gameplay reasons.
Realistic scale is way harder to justify with gameplay so HG must be really confident about this. It's much harder to fill it with content
i think its much harder to fill a universe with content
than an entire planet
Procedurally generated regions and biomes all connected on a world map. But not seamless
It's already hard to justify the size of NMS planets when it comes to gameplay they offer
wrong game
that starfield
😛
you could tell sean was very nervous talking about LNF
probably has ptsd (not literally lmfao)
poor guy
he is always like this lol
i hope it does well
Wrong
🙄
Kinda odd they chose Sean yet again for a pr person. He's a shy introvert. Always has been mega nervous on stage. Even with the very earliest NMS announcement
Sorry
first time i mute someone on this server
gotta get through your fears one way or another
in 6 years
i respect sean
Because I disagreed with you? Lol
i think they are confident
pretty sure he said it was gonna be seamless
and we all know as no man's sky players that this is true gameplay
i mean no man's sky is quite seamless
im sure light no fire could be even more seamless
Me too. Even tho Sean doesn't like being on stage, he's the face of HG. I couldn't imagine anyone else
@warm mountain these kids about to be upset when they let their hype gets them let down
don't remember him saying there will be regions, i remember him saying there will be NO boudnaries
yes and "bigger than Earth"
i think they generate the whole planet
maybe not bigger in size?
maybe in density?
variety?
think so
even if earth is varied as fuck
probably one of the most varied planet in the universe
So many unrealistic speculations lol
#based
Lol no, the context was clearly size, that's what bigger means.
You don't say lead is bigger than steel when talking density
i would take sean words with fucking salt
the world of LNF is, in other words, HECCEN THICC
even if i trust him
but i expect the planet to be the size of earth
maybe more bigger
Im not familiar with that type of salt
Bunch of L takes
ok
we have been for a long time lol
im just repeating what was said
Same, I even provided evidence lol
Server will allow a million players to play at the same time all on a single generated round jupiter fr
Lol
Bro like I cant with this channel sometimes. Crazy out of context claims
i bet some no man's sky modders are already like damn
im gonna mod for this game too
Tbf a bunch of it was indeed just promised at game awards
Bigger than earth
Hear earth-sized? That MUST mean it's a MMORPG with handcrafted everything and bigger than earth but also has in depth rpg systems and seamless
what
Same. Not because of distrust towards Sean.
Rather because Sean is a developer. Not a PR person. Sean is not professional with marketing talk. Sean tends to talk about their projects more like dev to dev.
Even on stage I could see Geoff's body language trying to signal Sean to chill a bit as he talked.
Not because Sean would try to intentionally over promise or anything but because Sean is simply excited about the creative and ambitious endeavour they are yet again passionate of
Right but the thing is it's more reasonable to assume it's similar to NMS galaxies.
exactly i dont see him overpromising but he is talking with his vision how he sees the game
Nothing wrong in that. It's a joy to see someone who's that passionate about their work
please have a prayer emote in the game
damn the fucking rp in light no fire
"All players playing in the same galaxy"
See what I mean?
What type of speculation? About the networking solution? Instancing? Or player behavior
This
Was that promised for nms? It's an universe at base
it's just rare cuz it's so damn big
There was a LOT promised on day 1 lol
a procedural generated universe where everything is procedural and unique
sorta
kinda?
Everything is unique is a stretch but not really the universe part
Multiplayer 100% promised Day 1 we didn't get that
by procedural for LNF, it's most likely just talking about the planet itself
not buildings and such
yeah still need to work on that
but hell idk
also i think people are gonna expect crazy building and cities etc
Look yall can keep drinking the delulu juice. I'm just telling yall to keep it real or yall gonna be mad upset when you took his words and overhyped it
cities?
i wasn't even shown one
16 😆
i mean there might castles or abandoned stuff
Imma watch this and follow up after work
I suggest that would have been the place to start, with Sean's actual claims
The complex rpg part is up to interpretation of course but the everybody playing on the same planet is a statement nonetheless
Can’t wait to run around the world XD
wait so bro didn't even watch it and was calling it L takes?
Yeah I'll start with actually watching it and not taking two words out of context
crazy stuff
This game was the only one that stuck out to me
Blade game looks fucking sick
I've got all my speculations saved so when the game releases I can rub it in yalls facesssssssss
Complex of being right
👀
Jk
100%
I actually watched it before I commented and am not misrepresenting the context lol
But hey, that's just me...
bro is plain stupid
holy shit
You think LNF will have a good story ?
Damn let's not go call name now
W
Maybe, they didn't show any story elements off
would be nice greg buchanan does the story for light no fire
Can get banned for name calling
