TIP:
• Find a Dissonant Planet.
• Locate a Sentinel Pillar and deactivate the Sentinels.
• Destroy "Inverted Mirrors" without issue from Sentinels.(Inverted Mirrors have a chance to drop "Echo Locator").
• Use "Echo Locator" to locate a "Dissonant Base"
• Use the Dissonant Base to locate a ship or unlock the weapons cabinet that contains the new Sentinel Multi-Tool.
■ You can purchase a "Sentinel Boundary Map"(this will locate the Sentinel Pillars, just make sure you are landed on the "Dissonant Planet" first) from Cartographer aboard Space Station.
■ Dissonant Planets are available in ANY solar system and not just red abandoned systems.

When players bring up bugs in this thread, let's remind everyone to remind everyone that they must submit bug reports via Hello Games' Zendesk. We can point newer players to Pins and the !HelloGames command so they get all the info needed for the reports to be most helpful.
Any list we keep here is for our sake but Hello Games needs to get an official report for each.

If it's not a game breaking bug and/or something experienced by a larger percentage of the player-base, we'll be best off not adding to the list. Especially stuff we can't really verify was caused by 4.2
We can certainly continue to discuss bugs in this channel and offer reminders to newer players to report things to Hello Games. But trying to track our own list here is a lot of maintenance.
it seems like the interceptors have really high damage
and the interceptor specific photon cannon has really high fire rate

im still searching the vast area of Space for these corrupted planets

When you're exploring systems to warp to, in your galaxy map, it'll show the type of system. Dissonant is a new type.

What's special about them? How are the Sents in those? Extra aggro?
They're just as agressive as on agressive Sentinel planets. The corrupted Sentinels now have plasma granades, flamethrowers and can heal other corrupted drones. There are also spider or crab like Sentinels who are essentially the corrupted version of quads.
Those crabs can be big or small and they can become invisible
that sounds so kickass
It's fun to battle them. Especially when a gravitational storm comes up and you can basically fly and feel like Superman 😁

Has there been any news on when the Switch update will get posted?
unfortunately not. we're not sure what's the cause of the delay, if it's got to do with Nintendo's release schedule or if something didn't pass their certification process. hopefully, Switch players get the update soon but no clue when. 
They have water if the system was previously water, planet generation has not changed. The major change is addition of radiant crystals and corruption of sentinel on a particular planet, alongside the change of stellar name generation from water to dissonant.
On these dissonant planets there are purple radiant crystals. They also have the sentinel drills protected by a small unit of tiny quadnids. Attacking the drill will trigger the quadnids.
(Quadnid is a term I am using to associate with new type of sentinel, it’s not an in game term).
If you start farming the purple crystals it will alert and spawn the corrupted sentinel. Their first wave consists of 2 corrupted attackers (look like normal tank sentinel) alongside a corrupted healer. Second wave spawns 3 quadnids and 2 corrupted attack drones. Third wave spawns 3 quadnids, 2 attack drones, 1 arachnid. Fourth wave spawns 4 quadnids and 1 arachnid. 5th wave spawns the brood mother alongside 3 quadnids.
The arachnid/brood mother have a special trigger at 30% - 25% health where where they engage active camouflage, making them go invisible. They’re not 100% invisible, instead appear as a shimmering blue outline, just like active camo we have.
The numbers may vary, I think.
My bad luck I had a power failure right before I was to face the final wave. Grahdamn!
The small quadnids are very “jumpy”, they like to boop and they also use flame thrower.
The attack drones have burst fire lasers unlike normal attack drones that have a slower rate of fire.
There’s no specific planet that can be corrupted. From the looks of it any water planet can be corrupted.
I need to check all of the biomes, so far I’ve seen infested paradise being converted into a corrupted planet.
Infestation is still spread all over, tendrils and whispering eggs are still present on the planet.
The location of radiant crystals can overlap with the location of tendrils, giving us a 3 pronged fight.
We can confirm this with our NMSCord planet Distira 
Tendrils + horror + corrupted sentinel.
On top of that we also have normal sentinel alongside corrupted sentinel.
Although only patrolling normal sentinel
All in all it is a tremendous change. More challenge, more fights.
We still have the bug with AI pathfinding where sentinel cannot find your position, leading to an end of fight because they’re several units away from your position.

Woot! You’ll love the corrupted planets. The cluster of radiant crystals is beautiful and there’s a unique humming chime from those crystals.
It has a different icon on the HUD, looks like two crystals; one long and one short. The longer one is breaking from the root.
The drilling sentinel has a different symbol, looks like the blade of a sword.
There are two drops from the crystals. A radiant shard that is used to fuel sentinel ships, and another entity I forgot the name of. It is used to make stuff
This other entity is replacing puggy from normal sentinel
Although I haven’t seen glass from the corrupted sents, meaning we cannot obtain upgrade modules
Found and confirm by friend-entity @crisp shoal if you have ground combat turned off dissonant systems won’t appear.
Make sure to keep ground combat to anything other than none.

I was on Distira last night, uploading my base, and even in Normal mode I saw sentinels looking corrupted. So it may be in all game modes (? question mark). Will have to try Creative mode at some point. Cc @pearl epoch @icy saddle

Don't recall the red eye. But I'm not as knowledgeable about their design differences. Will pay better attention when I see them again at the settlement in Normal mode.
also, this new update seriously reminds me of another indie game i've been playing that has little robot enemies that eventually get "corruption" and have purple crystals jutting out of them

How to find a sentinel ship?
‼️Sentinel ships can only be obtained on a corrupted sentinel planet.
#1: The Waves
- On a corrupted sentinel planet engage and destroy corrupted sentinels up to 5 waves. This will not shut down the sentinel as normal waves do, instead it will immediately mark the location of a Dissonance Spike.
- Dissonance Spike is the location of a crashed sentinel ship.
‼️Note: Unlike normal sentinel battle these waves mark the location immediately at the end of the battle, there can be cases where a non-hostile sentinel is patrolling the vicinity. Do not attack that sentinel, it will trigger the entire battle once again even if you've already completed it.
#2: The Camp - Locating a Harmonic Camp requires an Echo Locator.
- Echo Locator can be farmed either from taking down the Dissonance Resonators (the drills), or taking down corrupted sentinel.
- Activate the Echo Locator once you have it to mark the location of a Harmonic Echo.
- At the Harmonic Echo location you'll find a camp site with a console in front of spherical object.
- Interact with the console. There will be 4 options > Input override glyphs // Scan memory register // ERROR: Lockdown active // Leave.
- Choose the second option (Scan memory register) and solve the puzzle. Note down the answer of all three entries in the puzzle.
- Choose Input override glyphs. You will see 3 interactable boxes (currently they are very faint and hard to find), clicking on them will open a new window named MODIFY with images of the glyphs.
- Click on this window (or use the correct key depending on your controller/platform) to input the correct glyphs.
- Each glyph is numbered as "Glyph Number" from One to Sixteen.
- The three memory register answers are the number of each of the glyph that has to go into these boxes. Order doesn't matter.
- If this is your first camp ever you will receive the new jetpack, the Aeron Turbojet, and you will be prompted to leave the console.
- Leave and interact with the console once again. The new options you'll see after second interaction are > Deactivate Multi-Tool seal // Locate Dissonance Spike // Leave.
- Deactivating the multi-tool seal will disconnect you from the console once again, so that you can grab the multi-tool located in the tent to the left.
- Interact with the console again to locate the dissonance spike.
#3: The Sentinel - Trigger a space battle either by shooting the space station or by piracy or by denying to surrender illegal goods. Any space battle trigger.
- Complete the 5 waves to spawn and destroy the Sentinel freighter.
- Sentinel freighter will drop a Dreadnaught AI Beacon.
- Once you have the beacon activate it to locate the nearest dissonance spike.

How to claim a sentinel ship?
Finding a sentinel ship is one task, the other task is to claim it. There's a particular step involved in claiming the sentinel ship.
‼️Each dissonant system will host a single seed of the sentinel ship at all locations on every corrupted planet it has. This means the design won't change but the class may change.
- Once you have found and visited the Dissonance Spike location you will have the option to interact with the crashed sentinel ship.
- The sentinel ship come with a new claiming mechanics. Instead of only fixing components we now also need to remove some of them.
- There will be 4 components > Pugneum // Glass // Hyaline Brain // Pilot Interface.
- Hyaline brain is "corrupted" and needs to be converted into a Harmonic Brain.
- Harmonic brain is a required component to fix the Pilot interface, alongside Radiant shard and Inverted Mirror.
- Radiant shard can be farmed from either the sentinel or the purple crystals.
- Inverted mirror can only be farmed from the Dissonance Resonator (the drill), and it's not a guaranteed drop but the dissonance resonator will indicate what type of drop it has.
- Harmonic brain is the converted Hyaline brain.
- Once you have the Hyaline brain in your inventory activate it to mark the location of an Ancient site. This ancient site is an "alien monolith".
- Interact with the monolith and follow the dialogue to convert the Hyaline brain into a Harmonic brain.
- Go back to the Dissonance spike location (will stay marked as long as you have the brain in your inventory) to fix the sentinel ship and claim it just like a normal ship (either swap/exchange or claim).
- There are no broken pieces in these sentinel ships.

I'm not getting the ship ping when passing 5th wave on land sentinels
you might not have finished the wave, sometimes the small guys like to run away then lose targeting on you, so once you killed everything else the last guy just gradually lost aggro when he couldnt find you

yeah, I reported it to HG. I'm curious to other bugs and to see if there's patterns
Some things break with every update, I've seen. Stuff like freighter refiner, multiplayer, crash issues, graphics issues are usually common.
On Switch, players should not interact with the interceptor ships. Myself and I've seen others on reddit and here that get into constant crashing and unable to play. My game save is now unplayable because I added a brain into my inventory, so I crash after 10 seconds of loading the game. constant crash, every time.

Another Switch users in help just posted an idea for Switch users: once you get to the interceptor ship, turn on Free Crafting, repair the ship, fly away or whatever, then you can turn it back off. It appears having the brain in any cargo slot will cause the crashing. They were also able to destroy the brain in their inventory to prevent constant crashes (after they were constantly crashing with brain).
If you cannot access the multitool at a Harmonic Camp, you can angle yourself at the sides to grab it from the cabinet.
if you know of switch players not being able to claim their sentinel ships, they just have to land while having another mission active, placing a pin on the crash site helps, only workaround I could find.

I didn't even know there was a thread for this, Discord doesn't make them very noticeable. :( Want to say though Harmonic brain is a required component to fix the Pilot interface has never been true for me. The pilot interface gets repaired without that in my inventory (I only have Hyaline brains, and those don't get consumed by the repair process either)

I'm not where I can look right now, but I don't think so. I've claimed three Interceptors so far and they all exhibited this behavior. I guess if I was to pursue this logically, the next time I go to a crash site I'll turn back on the base crafting and see if there's a change
Alright so I've tested with several difficulty settings. Changing "crafting" settings to free will not cost any brain at all. The pilot interface will be fixed immediately you click on it even if you haven't taken away the hyaline brain from the ship.
What you're experiencing is exactly same as building base parts never needing any material to build, or power being free, or the game never ever needing units or nanites for any kind of purchase. You're basically playing in creative mode with custom settings.

i get that that's what it looks like, but it's just plain ol' normal mode. never even opened the menu to look at the difficulty settings.
They said they've set crafting to free. In case you're experiencing the same issue I think there's some problem with the save.
On normal mode the brain needs to be converted to harmonic
and - further - after clearing unfinished interceptor tasks from the log, and removing unused interceptor parts from my inventory, i'm back to doing the full repair process for interceptors.
This sounds like a conflict between two interceptor missions.

feels to me like it can get confused if you leave stuff unfinished, which suggests there might be a way to intentionally cheese it.

It was a bug initially but I think they've intentionally marked interceptors as buildings. Do you recall when scanning the ships showed them as buildings? I think the process behind fixing them is similar to constructing base parts.

Well, I said I made base crafting free. This doesn't make all crafting free, just base parts. So I don't really think that has anything to do with it unless NMS is internally classifying Interceptors as a building
I mean ...I guess it's possible? If for some reason there was a static number of ship classes they could use, and they hit that limit. So... some HG meeting heard the phrase uttered, "Well what if a ship was a building?"
Lmao that'd be hilarious if this is in fact part of the interceptor = building + base crafting free bug @rose widget we should test it. well, unless it got fixed with 4.23
I will test some more later today, so far it's been acting weird though. 😅
Okay this is a mea culpa -- I could have sworn there used to be a separate base and general crafting difficulty options, but it looks like it's just one setting to rule them all (I need to file a request). So yeah once I turned off free crafting, the pilot interface became unrepairable without the other brain
Another thing I discovered with Crafting set to Free -- it also seems to disable fuel usage for warp drives. My ship's drive never went below 100% with it set to Free. Odd since there's a separate setting for Fuel Usage.
I think this may be a bug, tbh.
I thought they set it that way because for us, players, it's not a ship but something like a Sentinel Pillar
May also be a way to hide ship's class without interaction ?
i hope we can claim our interceptor ships when 4.23 comes out on switch... i can't play on any save during 4.22, constant crashes in all situations. I claim the interceptor it crashes before i even get into the vehicle, if i don't claim it and instead run away i still crash, if i get in my ship it crashes before i enter the ship, even if it's not the interceptor.

a proper bug report? how am i supposed to send in images or logs on switch load in crashes? it's not like i can record gameplay of a crash as the switch deletes the video footage when the software ends... what is a proper bug report in relation to, switch gameplay crashes?
None that I've seen, but I have t explored it much tbh - I have the other platforms
@hollow pilot also, check the pins in this thread. i remember Switch players posting workarounds that worked for them in respect to interceptor ships. i'm not sure if you've seen / tried them.
as in, have you explained the bug to Hello Games and given them permission to access your save in case they need to use it to troubleshoot what you're experiencing

given them permission to access my save? would my switch need to be modded to extract saves?
devs can access saves via the cloud. like in the case of PlayStation 5 and Xbox consoles, that's what we have to do.
HG wouldn't ask a player to break a console's warranty of platform's ToS to extract a save to attach to a bug report. 
i don't think i have access to a feature which lets me download cloud saves to any location other than my consoles own saves location in it's built in nand memory
that's not what i meant. in the bug report, you can provide Hello Games, the developer, explicit permission to access your save via the cloud.

Like in this case. Your save is broken. Wouldn't you want a game developer to be able to troubleshoot your bug?
Platforms that don't offer a player access to download their save (which in consoles like Xbox are encrypted to avoid pirating), they provide options for developers to be able to access a file of this sort to be able to troubleshoot a bug. But obviously the developer would need your permission to do so.
Gleam confirmed for me that Nintendo Switch does offer a cloud option for their saves:

yeah of course, but i don't understand how i can give them my permission. if i told them they could use my save, they would need a way to access it. to access my nintendo cloud save, they would need to login to my account and sync it to their own developer switch. however, i don't see an option to ask nintendo for the save files, even if they have a cloud service. nintendo is very much a closed system
No, they wouldn't.
They are a developer, not a player.
They don't need to access your account on the backend.
They will have access to the saves, with permission.
Which you already agreed to Nintendo having, btw.
They also don't need to sign in as you.

You give the developer permission in the bug report. That is all they'd need to access your file to troubleshoot it.
They don't access your Nintendo account at all.
Just the save file of No Man's Sky the game.
If you don't want to give permission in the bug report, don't worry about it. A bug report without permission is good enough to raise awareness of the problem.
