there are two main subsets of wyverns in my setting, the classic big flying ones and then ‘island wyverns’ which are basically just violent scaly ostriches

Island wyverns use their powerful legs for chasing/hunting, and their wings mostly for battering rivals rather than flying

Yeah! Ground bird-like dragons, more specialized for running down prey and jumping. They lack the magic-breathing of their more graceful cousins so they’ve become especially efficient in brute force and bullying other wyverns lol

the island wyvern adults max out around 20 feet tall, usually

the juveniles are more horse-sized

oh, most winged dragons are beeeg bois in this project. Drakes would be the ones between horse and dog sized, and there’s lots of variety within each clade as is. I was leaning towards downsizing island wyverns a bit though, but I need to work on their actual environment more and decide if that’s the route I wanna go :).

All I got time for rn definitely expect more werewolfin’ this spooky season. I took young werewolf to be like a new werewolf. So, little unsolicited wormy project trivia, this is my main character, who was transformed as a youngen well before the start of the story and grew up learning to use her werewolfiness to work as a detective/bounty hunter. being werewolfed in this world means frequent transformations and some unusual habits

Like one of those wacom or huion ones w no screen? Tons of artists do use them, I probably would if it weren’t for space/my preference for portability.
There’s a little more figuring it out involved as far as working a drawing tablet and the pen and the monitor/computer, but there’s good product reviews and tutorials online, like on YouTube

I think it’d be a great option if you have the space for it and don’t mind having a couple electronics to keep track of

I prefer sketching on paper. I’m more used to the friction of paper versus a slippery screen.

I started with pencil and paper and switched to mainly digital a few years ago! I always recommend brand new artists start ‘traditional.’ Ideally both would help me stretch all my drawing muscles but I usually draw in bed and I’m not getting eraser crumbs in my blankets

The feel/texture of pencil on paper can’t be replicated on a smooth screen, but some apps get kinda close with the appearance of it
