Nice nice! My apple pen is a lil bish sometimes but I’m more comfortable with digital I did snag a little watercolor kit for my birthday from Michaels so hoping to practice that too! Never done it before

you can draw from your imagination then utilize references to see ways you can improve. it's a good process for getting your rough ideas on paper then polish later

I try to use references when I want to focus on improving or accuracy, but usually I just enter the zone and vibe for a few hours and call it good

Slime molds tend to be the sort of junk drawer of loosely related organisms but they’re really cool and diverse. Fungi are more clear but it’s one of my favorite facts that they’re more closely related to animals than plants

i know nothing about slime mold, but the existence of a creature that is the form of a slime is yet more proof that reality is sometimes weirder than most fiction

Millenia ago the shifting of continental plates caused the land to buckle in a line three hundred miles wide. A massive lake formed, then drained over the cliffs in a spectacular set of waterfalls. When men finally set foot on this new land they were quick to settle in this idyllic place.

As ages passed the settlement became a city, then a metropolis. As science and technology improved giant buildings floated in the air of the city. It became a shining beacon of the worldwide utopia that arose under the guidance of the Light, a paradise of joy and plenty.

Then came the Fall, when the skies themselves opened up and rained demonic hordes of evil, destructive creatures by the millions. Only the Light, and its' Arbiters, managed to push back the tide as the cities of Man fell from the skies and Chaos began its' reign.

A thousand years later, the old city is still shunned by men. It is said to be a place of ghosts, where the corpses of those killed in the Fall can still be seen, trapped under stone and damned to suffer for all eternity.

Fallhaven has risen on the outskirts of the old city, a smallish fortress town where men buy and sell in this new world. And this night, under the blood-red moon, a glowing figure raced away towards the forbidden ruins.

Sorry I took so long to do my part, gang. I'm usually the late bird with these. Or the second mouse getting the cheese. Here's my drawing for Day 1 First time drawing a frog and a mushroom. This is my favorite type of frog. Borrowed the pose from a frog I saw online. And sat it on a mushroom to tie into our suggested theme. Not super thorough but will do for first day

Yeah, I def don't recommend drawing with a mouse. Not ergonomic at all. I used to get carpal tunnel from using the mouse for art too much. Had to switch to a graphic tablet back in the day. Carpal tunnel gone.

Mouse drawing is pretty tough honestly, never got it down. I’m all fancy with my ipad and apple pencil and run into tech issues sometimes but for the most part it’s been super smooth

would recommend putting comfort first

otherwise you can cripple your hand(s) for a good while

I'm left-handed, but I broke my wrist in a car accident as a teen. I lost most of my fine control back then, so I write, draw, etc. "wrong-handed".

So one list of words can have basic adjectives like "bored, happy, tall, short, chunky, high, etc." and the other list can have basic words like "turtle, planet, spaceship, foot, toe -- (totally not @serene osprey references there), table, etc." Thought I'd run this idea by you guys to see what you thought. just finished mine too! felt dragony today. I really dont like the yellow bits - was trying to make them like these raised patches of armored scales but the color and texture need a lot of work. still, just wanted to get the shapes down and I did!

the brown color should be more golden but I didn’t make it metallic and shiny anyway his name is Tloxikahl and he’s a beefy bitch

One of the things I like most about this pact is every time I send something I see all the things I’d do differently next time, even if I don’t put in the same or more effort each time it’s still useful for when I actually can do so

lore tidbit in lieu of actual writing: dragons communicate via telepathic images and a wide range of species-specific sounds. as they age, “true dragons” (basically analogous to the common four legged, two winged european dragons) will continue to grow to colossal sizes unless something like disease or competition kills them. There are tons of draconic animals with different numbers of limbs and wings and tails etc. the oldest living dragons have learned the art of spoken language and some even practice magic. Tloxikahl is one such dragon, though his growth was stunted and he’s comparatively quite small.
