here's the really bad news. for blue;rints from manufacturing facilities, you need 10 factory override units... until the 6 weeks are up.

I leave for the lakehouse Saturday, so it looks like I won't get to complete the optional phase 5 milestone. I mean at least my inventory is almost maxed out already.

what is not well known is that ||when you break the loop, specifically (and that means doing whatever milestones are required to do all of phase 5, hint, they are not ALL required, this is sufficient to get you out of pseudo-perma right then||

well even that might be well known given youtubers and frequent discussions but still

So I selected the "Shattered Past" (derelict freighter) milestone and pulsed until I got to it. Then I realized that I had almost no inventory free so I pulsed away from it and cleaned up my inventory. Now that I try to pulse and get back to the derelict freighter I can't. How can I get to the derelict freighter for that milestone again?

it still stays in the refiner, I use this to avoid the two known bugs: weapon stops firing (can only avoid if you have a second multitool to switch to and back) and the outer door no opening but consuming the web anyways; afaik neither have been patched, second one is rare, first happens to me regularly

at end of a run I will just delete the erb manually, but I don't feel like shelling out 5 mill for no reason 😛

one thing I will emphasize is that this expedition, if you die in the middle, you lose virtually all milestones. you will need to redo them again from the start. with a new ship and a new multitool back on the starter planet.

at this point anyone starting should do two things

1. don't hoard materials, it's just goign to slow you down, get a little more than what you need for each step, only

2. bases everyplace that you had to travel to reach. expect to die by something irritating or unexpected once

plan for it.

im done phase one and some of 2, im just not familiar with permadeath/hardcore so it's a but offputting. i have like 200+ hours into my other saves. i have the experience, just not very intrigued by this expedition

the way to plan for it is to make sure anything you had to search for, you don't have to the next time through (base computer)

perma, you have to take into account that all damage from hazards or hostiles is worse, recovery of shields and hazard prot is slower, and all stack sizes are small

fall damage can easily get you when on normal it wouldn't be a scratch

All I ever played was Survival since that is what my son and friend play. My furthest save is actually permadeath (5 galaxies without glyphs or other advanced methods), but now I'm afraid to invest too much more into that one since it could go away in an instant. So, it just seems like a good idea to make this expedition (with an S Class solar) my new main save.

I plan to use glyphs (gained in this expedition) to get to some of the best planets from my other saves and build bases on those on this save.

I've got about 5 hours in post-expedition. Mined plenty of liquid sun for techs, got a few trade routes for units, and even stumbled across two exotics that I bought to keep or salvage.

once you feed them, they stay around and you can gather memories multiple times

Also why play if not for fun, i chose to get off cause it was becoming a chore, ill continue tomorrow but learn to take a break, and take your time. See it as a vacation from your normal grind. ancestral memories means you have to tand around and wait a bunch, once you find a group of animals and throw a pellet down

I find ancestral memories easier, because you just have to sit around a bunch of animals, and once you collect what you need, you can get their byproducts

people might be selling the good at the trade terminal dribing down the price

sell to npc pilots (helps others, doesn't help your immediate issue)
