Expedition is a special game mode, it's intentional. I don't think you can get living ships unless you finished expedition Titan back when it was running and can claim the Wreith. Idk if the game would allow you to search for living ships, but you can't get quicksilver in the expedition needed to get the void egg.

Oh and you can switch back to your main save in the pause menu at any time, it'll keep your place in the expedition and you can return whenever from the Anomaly, assuming you started it from the Anomaly.

Interestingly, I changed

Since that's what it is in other expeditions (it's what allows you to keep your appearance when starting an expedition from an existing save), and it actually kept my look but changed all my colors. Theoretically they could have done that with ships, but probably harder with corvettes.

Oh and I would suggest to turn off multiplayer since there are a few quests that are so difficult to do when other players are around. If you don't want to do that, then at the very least turn off pvp otherwise you will easily die from other players accidentaly (or on purpse haha) shooting you
