Expedition 20: Tips

Important:

• Keep multiplayer disabled for now. It will avoid a current bug with lost corvette (Fireship Arcadia) milestones, and getting randomly blackhole warped.
• If you can't build or mine a mineral deposit: disable multiplayer, report any other player base(s) via on foot quick menu, then save+reload and try again.
• Refine Quartzite/Activated Quartzite for Chromatic Metal.
• Space Anomaly is unlocked after the second warp.
• Space Stations have a Trade Terminal and a Teleporter: right or left side as you fly in, up the ramps.
• Always visit the station of Timestamp systems.

Phase 1:

• Crew, Awaken rewards pre-packaged Personal Refiner: install packaged item on free exosuit tech slot.
• Shipbreaking, keep multiplayer disabled. Need to collect at least the data log (wifi-like blue icon). Also see [this post for images](#nms-expedition message).

Phase 2:

• Descent, Temptation and Gentle Giants can easily be done in Timestamp II system Konamis, Outiati IV planet. Use Nautilon to dive to the bottom near the Timestamp II marker.
• Descent: Another example of Coordinates that are deep enough: -60.18, +126.01

Phase 3:

• They Feed can be easily done at any Timestamp location (except Timestamp II), since they're all next to abandoned buildings, that have whispering egg clusters.
• Friends in Odd Places milestone itself leads player through galaxy map to a suitable system. Player will just need to find it by checking each planet. Alternatively, players found Gashi 69/B4 moon in Nasuda-Wase Timestamp V system to have a suitable floater. Let floaters come to you, don't chase them, keep aiming up. Also see [this post for images](#nms-expedition message).
• Tendrils can be completed on Timestamp III planet, Giumf VII (Kobaya-Odgo XIV system), even though the mission tooltip says there's no infested planets in the system. Also see [this post for images](#nms-expedition message).
• Metamorphosis can be done at multiple planets. Look for Vile Brood Detected on resource lists, then use your visor to look for Juicy Grub red icons. For example, Rihamsto Alpha in Kobaya-Odgo XIV would work.

Phase 4:

• Shards of the Storm can be easily done in Timestamp IV planet, the gas giant.
• Thermal Power, just find underwater vents on any planet with water. Can be done together with Descent
• Radiance ccan be done on any dissonant planet, for example Hoenoske Alpha in Noyabe-Fakti system. Be sure to have installed Advanced Mining Laser (reward from Phase 1 Shipbreaking milestone).
• Lunar Cluster can be done in Timestamp IV, remember that you can mark unvisited bodies via Discoveries menu.
• No Time for Caution, use the black hole in Timestamp IV system (it will take you directly to Timestamp V system Nasuda-Wase, the next system).

Phase 5:

• Forgotten Quarries and Grave Robber, there's an "Icy Ruin" planet in Timestamp V system that also has Ancient Bones.
• Hooked and Jellyflesh can be done on Timestamp V planet, Anma Omega.
• Jellyflesh, you'll need Fishing Rig multitool tech installed. Try fishing near a shore. Have multiplayer disabled and the milestone selected, there shouldn't be a need to use any bait, but if you're not getting it with a few casts, try Mealworms for bait.

I'm having a lot of trouble with the "Shipbreaking" step of Phase 1.

I create the rangefinder, use it, locate the corvette, then it tells me I need to scan it. However nothing comes up. I can destroy the reactors on both halves to salvage some parts but that alone doesn't complete the objective.

I've tried creating multiple rangefinders, reloading the save, restarting the game, landing on a planet then redoing it, landing on a space station then redoing it... I'm quite lost and don't know if it's bugged or if I'm missing something obvious.

If anyone can help I'd greatly appreciate it.

For those asking about the Spawn of Arcadia - I made the hot chum bait and it was about every 5th cast or so. Saw elsewhere someone made the tier higher and it was their first cast.

Seems if you add some kind of bait you'll get it a lot easier, with no bait it doesn't seem to have much of a return rate
