Protip to anyone thinking they can collect a new ship. You can't. At all.

Even if you find a sentinal ship and repair it, you still can't take it, even though the expedition only says you cannot BUY new ships.

No new ship acquisition is allowed at all. Don't waste your time and materials trying to fix one up. It'll take your resources and then tell you to get lost.

So I was working on Expedition 19 and was just about to do Rendezvous 3. I still did not have access to my Anomaly Station and got an Anomaly scanner. Thinking this was how I got access to the Anomaly I used it and ended up to be a black hole which took me to some random sector. I warped and warped trying to get back where I was supposed to and eventually ran out if warp fuel. so I ended up creating a base to make some Oxygen harvesters to make more Warp Fuel. While doing this I went and scavenged ship parts for about 2 days playing at least 10 hrs per day. After I made enough Warp furl and got tired of searching for scavenge spots I went back on my journey trying to get back to check in for Rendezvous 3. About 40 warps later I finally go on NMS discord to figure out what I did wrong to be told I could of just used a station portal to get back. Sure enough there it was a station that said literally "Near Rendezvous 3" 🤦‍♂️. So I took the portal and it took me 1 sector out from where I was trying to go. So in a nut shell I ended up re-enacting Star Trek Voyager not out of necessity but out of stupidity 🤣. This is the Corvette I ended up with after finishing the Expedition and going back to man save, it makes my main save one look like it came from a dollar store. All and all was a lot of fun and learned a lot along the way after not playing for a long long time since game was released and getting the platinum.

sorry. by "fresh" i mean no tech upgrades, no cargo upgrades. you'll start with just your character and that's it. but you can get some stowed away stuff in the anomaly when you get to it later

i personally don't recommend bringing too much from your main save to the expedition because you'll have trouble getting your stuff and tech back later on when you're done

Right, if you dismantle scrap you can copy them multiple times. But I haven't tried that with corvettes

Travel to Yellow star of G or F class followed by 4, 5 or 6, and if you want planets with water look out for the word water after the class, there might also be a letter after the number but that doesn't affect the chances of finding lush planets

expeditions are almost like a tutorial for the update as well as giving you some time limited stuff. if you dont want to do it you def dont have to. you can just make one on your main save and enjoy it

if you've already gone thru the process of opening the airlock at the terminal by the door, then it shouldn't take more than ~10 seconds or so for it to open. you might be bugged out
