A fast and safe way to get lots of Ferrite Dust and Carbon stacks (among other things), is to shoot minerals/flora with your ship. 2-3 minutes of doing this, and the player can obtain lots of these basic materials without much effort.

Find a planet with lots of minerals and/or flora, land and scan flora and rocks around you for a bit. Then take flight, and just fly low and slow, letting terrain objects generate ahead of you, and shooting them. An upgraded ship weapon works best, as it will deal more damage, destroying things quicker.

Suggested ship weapon techs include Positron Ejector and Infra-Knife.

That's subjective, but the rewards imo are good. The cosmetic stuff is meh, I don't care for the bug theme, but you get several Multi-Tool class upgrades, a lot of inventory/slot upgrades for MT and exo suit, and the missions are ripe for quick unit/nanite farming which will come back to your main save

I’ve accomplished this by keeping the button pressed, even when the laser overheats. When it starts back up the count doesn’t reset. Just get near a bunch of trees and keep the button pressed until you have the 900. I’ve done it that way twice now.

Yeah, some people think the count stops when the laser overheats, but that hasn’t been my experience as long as you keep the button pressed thru the cooldown.

Leave the geobay on any planet of your choosing. You have a freighter now, correct? There is a blueprint you can get to construct a summoning station in your freighter so when u summon the freighter u can summon your exocraft

that Apex milestone is def bugged. had no problems on my first save (got it just randomly scanning before even knowing about it).

2nd, was scanning most of the planets along the same route. logged back on after dinner and it dinged... 2-3 planets ago from the current system I logged back in on.

so, if you think you've scanned it, restart the game and it might ding when you get back in.

Go to space ... bring up the Galaxy Map, go in to free roam mode (so you're not following the predefined path) and then look for a system that has Disonance on the info panel ... if you have one close by your current location then warp to it and you'll find what you want in that system

Trust me ive been looking for those disonance systems but they don't show up when I'm looking at different systems. I'm on PS5 so maybe there's some sort of bug where they're not showing up because they show up when I'm in my main save but not during the expedition.

other that doing it from the GalMap ... use the space station to return to a previous RDV system as one of those is Dissonant

ok, then you can put 8 tech and 24 I htink itis other items into the anomaly terminal to stash them for transfer back; everything else converts to units and nanites, and units/nanites/quicksivler are shipped back to the main save; you can also copy the active ship and mtfrom the expedition version of the save to the main save once complete. end phase and end expd rewards go back to the main save directly.

Yeah, using the terminal for expeditions is great for early game. Expeds are vary generous with units and nanites usually.

the sentinel mt has higher damage stats out of the box, I believe. and after going to the rend. systems, you'll end up with an S class of that plus a buttload of weapons and upgrades

so,a couple comments for people just getting started: the '900 resources in one burst' I found easy to do on the tarter planet, after finding a cave with a bunch of the carbon plants that look like round rocks. those are clustered together and there are so many that, as long as you do the usual trick of tapping when you see the beam get too close to overheat, you'll pop that milestone easily.
for the 1400u in a storm, any storm will do, it doesn't need to be extreme, as I found out to my amusement on the r1 planet.

900 resources don't have to be mined

Easiest for me was finding a cluster of oxygen plants

as long as you harvest fast enough that the counter doesn't reset, it counts, so just hold E and walk through

oh also: jet packing along in the water (let's say you're doing the alluring specimens milestone) counts for the 1400u jetpack milestone.

i just did it in a cave on a new planet with unidentified stalagtites and stalagmites to avoid too many secondary drops

mind that the step counter counts differently than the actual resources mined

I went to the pinned messages and got the system names<<which helps. but I normally go to the systems and makes notes of the available resources on each planet once there. Takes a bit of time. Is there an easier way to document what resources are available on each planet? I found it comes in handy when moving along in the expedition when I need something and can just check my notes

the discovery tab should show you for any system you've visted, as long as ods is working, because by now all that info has been uploaded by others. so when I was in the expd this morning, the planet info for the two systems I was in, was already available without my needing to land anywhere
