And if you are for whatever reason unable to build a refiner, you can still make do by harvesting sufficient hydrogen to craft a hydrogen gel manually. For the pure ferrite, you can mine a humongous amount of minerals for ferrite. Sometimes a geode will drop, which can drop pure ferrite when opened.

I've played the expedition twice. Once on a new save and now with my main save because I didn't know about the terminal on the Anomaly.

The only things that have some value for my main save would be the quicksilver, the staff and the photonix core, but only the latter is transferrable.

Then indeed you need to wait. Currently is on steam an experimental patch which fixes that for new saves. But until it is out will you need to wait for the optional one.

Yes. You can even get two. If it is selected as your main ship on expedition can you copy it for nanites to your main. Which means you can have 2 on your main. I used it to have te ship from expedition with all its new techs as my main and the free claimed one was scrapped for extra units, nanites and ship storage items 😄

My advice would be (and this is assuming you are not afraid to use your existing save like I am because I have stuff I can't get anymore and can't transfer) to take your existing save into the expedition. Which materials or upgrades you bring have little to no concequences, but the more you can bring the better. And the expedition will give you a nice amount of rewards/unlocks that you would otherwise need to spend nanites on or dig for salvaged data to get.

Food in this game is a black hole of pure bliss. Once you start learning how, you don't want to stop until you have made everything. I myself have an entire storage box filled with cakes and tarts and donuts and stuff on my main save, now I gotta add cookies which means I need another storage box 🤣

Maybe a little time consuming because the planets available with the poison environment didnt have good bunches of plants, they were all really small sets and far apart

Depending on which plants you are trying to gather, you can actually convert the material form back into plant form...for example, you can convert dioxite into frost crystals and phosphorus turns back into solanium

And if you have access to a lot of one material, you can convert it into others, for example, you can take dioxite alone and end up with phosphorus, uranium, pyrite, parrafinium, etc

I'm getting close to finishing the expedition and am starting to wonder what I can move to different saves - I started the expedition as a new save, I didn't start it from another save. Also my "main save" is something I haven't touched for years, so I don't know if I would want to start that back up again, I might want to just start a new save. I understand I can turn the expedition save into a normal save as well. If I created a new main save, I can get the expedition awards into it? but not other items? e.g. I found an interceptor and a multitool in the expedition, I can't transfer those to other saves? But I can transfer the reward ship? If I just turn my expedition save into a normal save, I assume I keep everything? I have googled and not finding anything super clear, appreciate the help.

You're not ending the expedition if you claim the last big reward (ship). You end the expedition at the terminal in the Anomaly after that. There's and End Expedition button. You can claim the ship and stay in the Expedition if you want. That's what I did since I'm waiting for the last community milestone to finish.

Yea, but in FF the free trial has no time limit, and you can level up all the jobs up to lvl 70 (max is 90 atm). So as long as you never pay, you can keep playing forever 😂

If it's a new save, you need to wait until the optional milestone is complete or until HG updates the game to allow you to end it early.

If you started it from another save, you can end it whenever you want.

You don't keep the quicksilver, so spend it BEFORE quitting the expedition

Because quicksilver rewards are account-wide
