Depends on what you’re calling a maxed out item. For me it was 5k nanites, for bkay it was around 3.5k nanites but he didn’t have a maxed out Multi-tool. So for safe bet carry items that you can sell directly for at least 3.5k nanites, or high selling items you can exchange for nanites at outlaw station through suspicious packages.

For certain you can make quick 3k nanites on the starter planet if you scan and upload all of the fauna. There are 12, we need 12 fauna scans and 6 flora scans for two different milestones. So that’s a penta birds with three stones.

Just click the cactus thing that you need, a quest appears, and you can just go where it tells you.
If there is no planet with that item in your system, a marker will appear on a close system, like it did for the pirate mission.
