I'd only tolerate this way if it actually held any meaning or choices in the future you know? Like in a RPG, you chose a side, a faction, like in a Bethesdia or BioWare game now deal with the consquences.
For me that's great because that means I get to play the game multiple times to enjoy all the reactions and consquences to my choices but I highly doubt NMS will ever do that in any capacity, specially in a Expedition

We don't know if we will but it's fustrating how self-contained these expeditions are. I can't tell you how many heavy lore drops we've gotten and people didn't save them through images or recordings or people who vehemetly deny their canon when discussing the story.
For example Levithan had HUGE lore implicatiosn and drops in a self-contained story ala expedition!

Fly into orbit and then fly down to a random spot on the planet. Seeds should be scattered over the whole surface.
I've noticed they tend to be roughly 500u apart, so hopefully your scanner range covers that.

I love landing to reveal an echo, seeing three or four appear when I hit the scanner, and then turning around to get back in my ship after blasting them to bits, only to find several appeared behind me as well.

Fighting is def a little easier in third in space but when you're trying to scan a planet the cross hair has to be at a weird offset rather than centered

like, when my ship transforms for landing, it's like shards of... oh... GLASS piercing my eardrums. also, if anyone else is landing or taking off in one within render distance, the sounds from their ship ignore distance and always sound like they're right next to me.
