Yes, but equally he could hop back in his ship and get his shed off my land!
I wonder if I can dig enough of the hill it's on away from under it to stop him from getting in the front door when he gets home ..
Until you said it, I didn't realise I was asking for trouble. Now I'm flashing back to all the times I nearly drowned because I couldn't tell which way was up on the Switch with all the pop-in.
oh buddy
i wasn't too thrilled that HG demanded a 1400 nanite payment to use the speedster on another save, I guess we should expect this on every expedition from now on
yeah it was strange. but very odd bug if it wasn't intentional
Luckly its only 1,4k nanites ,not like 140k
finally done omg, that was kind of tedious
Guys, can I warp to any nearby star for the last quest?
From the Phases & Milestones we got
pinned:
<#nms-expedition message>
Phase 5:
- Seismology Milestone: Must be done on the 5th planet, although neither the milestone description nor the tips in the log say so. To build the survey device, you'll need magnetic resonators, a quantum computer, and wiring looms. You can buy all of these at the space station trade terminal. No need to scrounge materials for these.
In case that helps...
Thanks : ) Just warped to another System, Im done with the Expedition now
Was a bit tedious but fun
Glad you enjoyed it! And congrats! Woot! woot! 🥳 Don't forget to grab your
Utopia vanity role in #roles to celebrate it
For Assignment Delta, the game ended up directing me to the middle of a Hungering Tendril nest. Do I have to build this base right on this area, or can I build it anywhere on the planet after I've found the build area it wanted me to?
Anywhere
oh excellent ty
Idalth XIV is a damn horror planet! Love it
if you watched carefully you never actually paid those nanites
My experience with this new expedition:
I passed most of my time searching for copper. 🤷🏻♂️
Don be able to build outside of the base was annoying at the beginning but after a while give a new purpose to every rambling 🌏
Idea of an abandoned system is kind of great . Gives a new layer of storytelling 🌞
I think thag the game is trying to get exocrafts more into game workflow , hope that in the future we could habe more of that 🚗
Anyone with the same feeling?
Haven't been able to finish it yet. Can't get past that last thing on the third planet. I've discovered 19/8 flora. More than double what it asked lol. Will check again after work to see if it'll work yet.
I'm on Utopia Phase 2.. I did not get the Utopia Supply Drop Beta.. any idea what i can do?
Make sure to claim the mission/task reward for arriving at the outpost
I did. Got the Nanits and a couple of Blueprints
are you sure the supply drop item isn't in your inventory?
Yes
could you send me a screenshot of your inventory and the expedition log page?
Win+Shift+S on PC to capture a screen snippet to your clipboard
Sure
Also, big tip for powering bases for this expedition: The Biofuel Reactor lasts 50 hours now on a full charge, which is more than enough to power a small base and teleporter for as long as you could possibly need. Then again, maybe solar panels and batteries would be more fitting for colonizing a system (role-play wise).
Need chromatic metal please help
You're going to have to either find copper deposits, or have someone join you to ive you some
I cant find anyone and its takes ages flying to planets with copper
And back
Im on phase 3
every planet in the expedition system should have copper
Just realized which channel this was in
use your scanner to find deposits, and use an exocraft (I highly recommend the Nomad) to get to them
tap C on keyboard, or click the left stick on console
@ashen shore go back to the starting planet, it is the easiest to navigate on (no sentinels, relatively flat terrain), plus you'll need paraffinium from the lush planet to build an exocraft bay, which is essential for doing the expedition (unless you like walking a lot).
gather all the chromatic metal you can from that planet so you have more than enough for the other planets
also make sure to use the smallest terrain beam (switched with R/T on keyboard, idk about console) to get the most resources from each deposit
that is an unfortunate situation to be in.
@ashen shore did your scanner find any copper deposits?
It would seem so
scan all the minerals around you, one of them might contain chromatic metal
But you would need the advanced mining laser for that (which you might have by now)
@ashen shore my last bit of advice (seeing as I can't get on for several more hours) is to practice melee-boosting to move faster. Here's a snippet on how to do it.
Melee boosting in No Man's Sky is incredibly straightforward.** Simply tap the melee button then hit the jet pack button while moving forward.** If done correctly, your character will do a huge dash in the direction you're facing. You'll know you've done it right if your character looks like they are dabbing.
@ashen shore Another player's base may also be close enough to walk to. At least then you could craft (a bunch of) launch fuel and head back to your first base and stock up on important resources before venturing out again.
you can build a base computer, but it can be a real pain having to snag 200 chrometal
Welp, first RV and my ship lands partially embedded in the structure. No worries. It still works, right? Nope, on launch I am stuck, unable to move or anything, and tooltip offers buttons to exit ship or launch. Neither do anything. And the saves are arriving at the location. Is there an unstuck feature?
First RV = first rendezvous? You could try going to another landing pad and calling your ship if you have navigation data.
That might work. Just need some nav data....
Which you could get if you could leave. Maybe you can find a nearby save point / waypoint thing.
Oh, wait! Just leave and call your ship anywhere, assuming you have launch fuel. I don't think it takes navigation data to call it to the ground near you.
What hazard does the 4th planet have?
Sentinels and titan worm burrows. I think the climate was fairly nice.
@oblique thicket Any luck?
The last one has superheated storms, mild mannered sentinels and a bird that you have to catalogue that just doesn't like some people. He came looking for me though, so I must be special. Anyway, it's a very quick set of goals compared to 3 and 4.
I'm glad I got the nomad when I was choosing an exocraft, definitely makes moving around the 4th planet easier
Is there no Suborbital flyer with a low energy cost take off? Nomad was a lifesaver, but after falling into a tunnel network I'd prefer to be able to have limited flight that didn't drain life support
I mean you can invest in upgrades, or set up a basic uranium farm/mine a ton of uranium
Wait, what are you asking for?
Ohh, you mean exocraft. I thought you meant an actual ship
Pilgrim can go flying with boost and max speed upgrades
Run !exptime in #bot-spam .
Depends on your luck. It was really easy for me, but if you end up with the Flora Magenta count discrepancy problem, or can't find the bird in Phase 5, your mileage could vary.
Is the sentinel freighter trace one of the rewards?
No
.....so its still not claimable?
Did the people with Flora Magenta count problems scan underwater flora pre-phase3?
Was playing Sons of the Forest for a bit
Looks like it only costs launch fuel (and might not cost that, coming from a pad) to summon your ship. So you could try just climbing down from the archive or whatever, picking an open spot, and summoning the ship. It'll cost you fuel to take off from there, though.
Taking off from landing pads costs 0 fuel
It worked to move it. But launching put me in the same jammed state. Will try moving further away and trying again
Good luck.
Also in this expedition, you run the risk of not having/being able to craft launcher fuel, with your base on the other side of the planet
Yeah. If you have units, you can buy it at the archive, though. Costs like sixty-five thousand each.
Yeah, so being near the RV building results in a jammed up spaceship. Works after a second summon further away
Yay! You're free! Make sure to carry plenty of fuel in case you have to do that again.
I do feel by this stage of development they should've fixed such bugs....
Game doesn't let you land on iffy slopes, but embedded in a massive hub is fine!
Report it. It seems pretty rare, so they may not know.
I did.
Man I got the final reward and immediately felt motionsick when flying.
Oh nooo
Cuz of VR? Try some ginger gummies. Those help me tons with motion sickness.
Its fine, it was just the shock of actually having a thing that can turn
Ooh lmao Congrats on completing the expo and getting the sweet reward
Ty i really love the cosmetics from these. They all look like they have some real effor in them
Okay so how do expeditions work
like
I started the game new, haven't played in years
I just finished the expedition, so... do I start a new game? Do I get to keep anything?
It should have given you the opportunity to convert your save to a normal save. You can also create new saves. The new character can claim expedition rewards at the Space Anomaly.
so even if I use/buy them in the one game
I can go to the anomaly and get my cool new ship?
That's right. Every character you make can go get all that stuff.
And does that include ALL the rewards or just the final one? ie: the cool robot egg
which I don't know what good that thing is
but it was cute
I think mostly it's cute. Rewards from individual milestones, no. I think Phase rewards, yes.
that was going to be my question since im reaching the end of the expedition
Your converted save for this character will have everything you got, except the elevated cost for base computers and the crafting location limitation. On other saves, you can collect the final reward (speeder) and phase rewards (I believe) at the Space Anomaly quicksilver counter.
Yes, main reward (Utopia Speeder starship) and the 5 phase rewards can be redeemed on other saves
The rewards for individual milestones are just for this save
I hope they re-run all of them sometime, but I'm afraid they won't, since they've re-run all but #9 once already. They re-ran 5-8 in a marathon at the end of last year. I missed 1-4.
damn
riparoni in pepperoni
Some non-main expedition rewards come back as Twitch drops
We had such a run last week and stuff like sandworm egg was one of the rewards
So if you have any specific item in mind, there is still hope
But I wouldn't count on HG re-reruning 8 expeditions
Oh, I didn't know some of those were expedition rewards. Some of them did seem familiar, though.
Maybe not 8
But 16 on the other hand
they would have to run at the same time as the usual updates and scattered new expeditions, and I can't really see that happening either
Hg usualy did expedition reruns in the end of the year. They did 1-4 and 5-8 rerun so probably next rerun will be 9-12 and after that 13-16
It is done my lord
wHEW
I just finished the aggressive sentinel planet stuff
that was scary
(I did turn them off but still)
I hate sentinels. I'm a lover, not a fighter.

Finished last night
definitely made me appreciate being able to craft anywhere at a whim
Lol
and I certainly didn't get myself into a situation where I had no launch fuel, and needed to get to the Space Station and all I needed was one metal plate, but also I had travelled half a planet away from my base and also I didn't have the resources on hand to make an emergency base, and therefore had to go in search of copper and ferrite
good fun tho
No, of course not
Am I the only one that didn't piss off all the sentinels on that planet? I don't think I ever set them off. I just made sure to not get too close to the pillar while at my base
I had Sentinels on my ass once when I was collecting plants for the drink thingy
Didnt even fight them, just ran away
Just started it if someone wants to help ya boy out
What kind of help, NS?
nah, I didn't either
worst case tho you can always make yourself an emergency tunnel and close it up to wait for the heat to die down, so I never worry about Sentinels too much
i always forget to close it, i just go down and then straight
and shoot anything that comes down
honestly same sometimes and even then they don't always follow down
and sometimes I end up just tunneling to where I was going anyway :p
Just finished the first phase mid way thru the second just any your willing to give
As a new player, I’ve done this 6 times over already 😅
It was a humbling experience
there are a lot of bases on each planet from other players, they have copper mines, etc
happens to the best of us
This third planet is stress
Just starting Utopia. Is there a way to locate my ship without building the base first?
if you scour the area in a 400u radius, you will find it eventually.
Other than that, no
You need to repair/install visor to get compass to get icon
and to install anythign you need a base
Cant say this was my favorite expedition -_- were i to redo it id have saved up 3k chromatic metal and pure ferrite on the first planet...
when you spawn in - first spawn - don't move your character: you will be facing in the direction your ship is in. cc @trail iron
it can be further away than 400u though, i've seen it up to 1000,1100u away
Notes on how to make pilgrim tonic an cocoa?
pick Star Bulb, put in Nutrient Processor to turn into Pilgrimberry, then put Pilgrimberry into Nutrient Processor
you will need Haz-mat Gauntlets installed in your Exosuit to pick Star Bulb
Star Bulb should be found on the planet you got that mission step on
Just fyi, this didn't work. I obviously found my ship after getting my visor and it was in a different direction. But thanks for trying.
Oh yeah! Update on "eyes in the mist" I figured out why I couldn't find it. I was on the wrong planet. Took me three days to notice. I would've thought by now I would have checked that since I played enough of the game but nope... it somehow eluded my mind to double check that. 😅🤦♀️
weird, worked for me. regardless, unless they do it randomly for expedition - not the case for other game modes/normal starting conditions, this has always been a thing
Do you need cyto-phospate for anything? Just refined all I got from a reward..
Good to know. Thank you.
not really (used for hydrothermal fuel cell, nautilon's fuel)
Oh cool, good to know
you're making pretty good progress.
Shouldn't be too hard, you can stand on your ship to avoid the bugs, and then the big burrow guys go down pretty easy
where can i quickly find a trade terminal for the last few missions of phase 5? just need some items to craft my hyperdrive and survey device
theres one on the space station
coolio
Finally got off planet 3... 🙂 Was getting really annoyed about the sentinels on that planet... 🙂
Hotfix for the controller seems to have worked!
Press the right joystick on Xbox One controller
I’m on pc
gg
for some reason i can't re-claim my leviathan rewards on my utopia save tho? maybe just cuz steamdeck keeps disconnecting from ze internets lul
restart?
Anyone heard if there's gonna be another opportunity to replay the past expeditions? i got this game recently and have been enjoying the current one, would like to do the older ones as well for funsies.
I'm still hopeful that they'll abandon this limited time content charade, and just make the expeditions selectable anytime. It's not as if I can't get any of the rewards just by using a save editor. I'm just not interested in time-limited content.
I play video games to relax, not to have deadlines.
You've probably already disposed of it, but I'm pretty sure they give you the cyto-phosphate because it's used to build the decoration you just got the formula for, those coral spirals.
🙂 To be honest I'm only doing the exp for the rewards... I'll be collecting them on my main save once I'm done...
and deleting the save....
I'd like that, too, but they probably won't. Given what people say about the expedition players being sort of in their own world (don't meet non-expedition players), it may have its own servers behind it that they want to be able to swing over to new content instead of leaving eternally available for old stuff.
The servers argument is an interesting one. From everything I've seen, very little of what goes on in NMS is server based. Nearly everything is peer-to-peer, or appears to be.
Well, ok, but if any of it is server hosted, explain how 1) it all works offline, and 2) if the "host" quits a game, the remaining players can continue as if nothing changed.
🤡
the only stuff the server rly "hosts" is bases
every time you land on a planet the stuff around you gets generated based on it's seed
there's a bunch of seeds for the planets, then a set of solar systems that contain those planets, and 256 galaxies that contain those systems
Even that varies by client. Play with a friend and point to a plant, see if they can harvest it. Unless it's changed very recently, they can't even see your plants. They're generated per-player on the client side.
all of that is basically client side, yes
the only parts of the game that reaaaallly require the server are synchronizing discoveries and bases, space stations, and the anomaly
The bases and system/planet names are hosted in a sense, but only in that your game client loads that stuff from the server when you enter one of those areas.
Even the Anomaly could be easily peer-to-peer in practice. Nothing about the Anomaly requires it to be server hosted. There's no NPCs there that can interact with multiple players in a meaningful way, so all the NPCs can still be client-rendered exclusively. And the Anomaly still works completely offline; you just don't see other players running around.
¯_(ツ)_/¯
It's all very clever and really well built.
I'm frankly impressed by the implementation.
anyway, i don't rly get the point of making all expeditions available
Here we go again.
you have a whole month to finish it, and for example this one was rly easy
I've already made the point.
if i can do it in 2d with >100h of total playtime's worth of experience in the game, you can surely play an hour a day for a couple weeks as a begginer and get beat it
If you can't understand how artificial deadlines kill enjoyment, then I can't help you, but your failure to understand it doesn't change reality for players it affects. And making them available to all players without a time limitation doesn't affect anyone who has already completed it, specifically because the expedition rewards are all something you can easily obtain with a save editor..
lolk
i just like events
gives me an insentive to actually do it
the rewards are meaningless to me
If I wanted the rewards, I'd just hack them in. I'd just like to be able to play the expedition content without a deadline looming over me.
that's a you problem buddy
It isn't, really. I just don't play expeditions.
then y do you even care
I'd just like to be able to play the expedition content without a deadline looming over me.
I copy pasted that, by the way.
Read it this time.
Maybe you'll understand.
dear player: nobody cares
i read it the first, and the scond, and the third time
nobody cares.
the deadline is forgiving enough to let you finish the expedition 50x, there's no real "looming threat" whatsoever
ur just bad at the game
good luck and goodbye
the point is you're overreacting to a non-existent problem
You don't get it and probably aren't going to. For me, as soon as you give me a deadline, no matter how far off, it goes from fun to work. I don't understand why you need to insult players who have a different experience, as though it were some sort of personal thing. But this conversation is not benefiting anyone.
I'm certainly not overreacting. I've defended my point of view, only.
my intelligence was insulted and i don't agree with their point, therefore it's personal, if y'all have a problem with the time limit so be it, but fck off n stfu thx
The bottom line is that I bought the game, and I'd like to be able to play the content at my own leisure. I've identified the problem. I've suggested a way to address the problem. All you've done is attempt to shout me down.
I don't think it's entirely fair to say this is personal. I didn't insult you. I asked you to give an attempt at understanding my point of view, as I inferred that you weren't really trying, resulting in you asking a question that I had already answered. I simply pointed this out, by asking you to read what I wrote.
ur right, i wasn't rly trying cuz the time limit is the only thing that makes me wanna play the expeditions, i'm sorry for making this into a bigger argument then it needed to be, i took things the wrong way
I do agree that expeditions would make great side content for new players, if they could go through them all when they wanted. I had stopped playing before they released and didn't play the first few expeditions. I'd love to sink my teeth into that content for sure.
I missed the first four, and would like to have the experience of the challenges and the story, even though I can save edit the rewards in.
I’m in the same boat. Can always hope for another set of re runs, but I won’t save edit them in
Language, please. We need to remember our server rules and channel rules. Let's keep arguments out of chat. If you'd like to take it to DMs, feel free. Or try Discord's block feature.
This rule applies to everyone in this channel by the way, not just Hazel.
Is this you telling us that further discussion of expeditions possibly being made non-time-limited is not suitable content for this channel?
No, it’s telling you not to argue and name call in a channel intended to help people with said expeditions
Let it be.
.> yikes my dude, way to put words in others mouth
Also, often skill level has little to do with why someone can't complete a timed event. Jobs, children, etc.
This channel is for the discussion of Expeditions. But keep it civil. No arguments. Or drama. Be respectful in how you address one another. Take arguments to DMs if you'd like. Or block people if needed.
Exactly why I haven’t done mine. I, and most people I imagine, have many obligations that get in the way
that's understandable
i'm a useless member of society so i dun have to think about that
Never completed a expedition 🤭
Understood.
Back to the discussion: I'm not advocating the use of a save editor at all. I don't use one, I haven't, and I don't intend to. I only use that as a counterpoint to the idea that expedition rewards are somehow exclusive to players who completed said expeditions "when they were available".
then again i feel like half n hour a day would still make it doable in the time you get
lol no you’re good

tbh, it is. especially when the expedition lasts this long, over a month since it began.
Absolutely! I’ll still get it done at some point but I’m usually too tired or distracted to fire up the laptop. That’s not on Hello Games though, and the deadline DOES get me moving lol
some ppl don't enjoy the tedious nature of some expeditions, so be it. it's okay to not do an expedition, as Stef himself has chosen to do.
you can also complete some phases of the expeditions and get some of the rewards.
I’ll for sure be prioritizing the base part rewards if I can
no one is obligated to play an event. Hello Games has proven that there's no need for FOMO in this game.
About to go back to planet 1 in search for copper.
I'm in the same boat, of having never completed an expedition. Other commitments mean I sometimes have to take a break from NMS for a month or two, and I can't always predict when that will happen. So rather than having progress on a save taken away from me by an arbitrary deadline, I simply don't play time-limited content.
That doesn't mean I don't want to play it. I just don't.
Big agree! The twitch rewards last week(?) were my first ones and needless to say I’ll be keeping my eye out for those from now on
Hello Games has made some of the past expedition rewards available through Twitch Drops. so there are multiple opportunities to get them. it's okay. no need to be upset that you can't complete a specific expedition. and there's no need to judge other ppl's enjoyment of an event or parts of the game in general. or make them feel guilty if they can or cannot complete an expedition.
I feel like the time-limiting of expeditions creates FOMO regardless. Case in point, I have no interest in beginning an expedition, for the simple fact that if I'm prevented from playing for several weeks or a couple months, then I lose my expedition save.
They probably won't change it, but maybe someone could make a mod that makes the storyline and rewards available.
In my case, I won't even try, and that's a work around, but not a solution.
if you have no interest, that's fine. as i said before, this channel is about Expeditions. if you're here for them, feel free to ask questions or get tips. and if you have a complaint for HG, you're welcome to provide them feedback via their Zendesk (helpful links in Pins

i should try to hoard more copper too
yeah having enough copper at all times is a bitch for some reason
just gotta hoard as much as possible on Planet 1. i spent tons of time there but i wanna go back to get more just in case
I can’t find my planet 1
if you need planet names and coordinates, there's info in the pins: <#nms-expedition message>
if you built a base there, you can try a teleporter like from the space station.
Planet: New Kehille

I agree some people have lives and kids to deal with having a deadline that seems forgiving then life hits and you sign in to a day left is stressful
I'm sorry I missed this earlier. Rewards in this game are available on PC, via save editors and game mods. Including rewards from Expeditions and Twitch Drops. Check #nms-modding for questions/help.
That's another top priority resource I made sure to hoard. We have that listed in our No Man's Stranded pinned tips
Hopefully enough people read those, so they don't get stranded
so i had to leave the 3rd planet to get more chromatic metal for the base computer, now i cant find my wway back to the location. any =one know how i can locatte the base building spot again?
If you de-select and re-select the milestone, you don't get a marker?
Here's a pin showing the location of a Colossal Archive on planet 3. Not sure if that helps at all: <#nms-expedition message>
Happened to me too. Couldn't get a marker from the task list or the waypoint list. Just build somewhere else and eat the loss of the save beacon, unless you fancy combing the entire planet by eye or there was a landmark nearby that will get you within a few hundred u of it.
Ready to warp out. Anything I should do before I leave?
Found a drop pod with an eco suit upgrade on Sesto and a crashed ship on the first planet, and got the a class multitool from the sentinel control tower some kind soul built a base beside. Any other highlights anyone would recommend or is it time to start playing the game proper, albeit with a sweet new ship?
You can always come back. The only thing you can't do after finishing is help other players with it.
Got damn it I left a save beacon so I could find the place on planet 3 where you confirm you've gotten thete
But the beacon
No work anymore
I mean
Planet 4
Oh it works now I've gone to someone elses beacon
This game is weirdd
I am pretty much staying on planet 1 until I have at least over 1000 copper.
It’s ridiculous
You can go back if you need more. You can also accomplish some later stuff while you're there, though.
I may also just enjoy the game and not worry about the expedition too. We will see.
I’m fairly new to the game and it seems kind of overwhelming to a newb like me.
Have fun and do things when you want to do them. The expedition will be there for a little while. I enjoyed it, though.
This one is pretty relaxed, geared torwards new players
I’d recommend it starting, only thing outside norm is crafting in base only
When looking for copper do you fly around and scan? Is that the most efficient way?
And base computer cost. It's normally much, much cheaper to establish a base.
Ride around in the nomad and scan. No launch fuel costs.
Yea but besides crafting the phases are fine for anyone to get into nothin to hard
Good idea
If you're having trouble finding desposits, you can set the terrain manipulator to dig more finely. It takes a lot longer to mine, but you get more out of the deposit.
I’m also playing on normal with no helps on resources.
Cheers. Stupid question but in what way can you help others? Other than making sure you get every scrap of metal out of a deposit so it doesn't register on their scanner and have them trek hundreds of Us only to find a single grain of copper at the bottom of a deep hole?
You can give them things, you can help them fight stuff.
In the current expedition, if I delete my first base can I put down somewhere else without paying a lot of materials?
you can delete the parts you used to build whatever the objective wanted you to, especially power sources/teleporter mats. just remember to always craft stuff you will need to survive and summon/launch your ship
deleting the base comp via its interaction menu (the only way to delete a base) will not give you the 200 c metal+500 pure fer back
this is what I did. I spent a niiiiiice long time on planet 1 just hoarding stuff. I'm not speedrunning.
I completed the expedition and tried to get the utopia ship on another save but they charge me for it, they want me to pay nanites for it, isn't is suppose to be free when you have completedd the expedition and earn it?
I heard that it claims it costs, but if you take the deal, you actually don't pay.
oh oki doki ty
Check your funds before and after. If they don't match, restore the save from when you exited the ship?
oki doki
thank you
When I get to the second planet of the expedition I get a location of where to build. Is there a base computer already laid down for me at this location? If so I don't want to miss it, but I don't want to keep looking for it if it isn't here either.
Does any one know the date when’d the expedition ends?
No, you'll have to build everything. You don't have to build at the indicated location, but you do have to visit it.
Run !exptime in #bot-spam , but it ends April 4, if I recall.
Ok thanks
It's really April 1st, but they want that to be a surprise. 😉
Install visor and survey the countryside looking for copper deposits. Then run towards them and mine them. If you have sentinels chasing you, dig a tunnel and walk all the way to the deposit, andmine that copper from below.
Thanks
I've never done an expedition before; are the rewards available across saves, or will they only be available within the expedition-mode save?
Major (phase) rewards are across saves
@native bloom Ever look into the speeder? Because it most certainly performs differently in atmo than other fighters.
I didn't see anything different about it in the files
I'll take a quick look again though
Never heard of a gaseous hotspot before any tips
You can toggle survey device to EM, mineral, or gaseous hotspots
As for the scaling of the volcano in the expedition, I've jetpacked all the way up to the tip top, but not reward. What do I need to do? Though myself in the lava?
I did a savepoint before escalating, jumped into the lava, and escaped flying out. Burned but got the reward. ........... Only died once.
Check the pins, there’s info about stuff like that
i need some help in on the part where i have to summit a volcano but idk if my game broke or something but i have no planet with volcanos
The second planet, Pehaelump, should have volcanoes almost all over. Sometimes they don't rez in until you're close to them, especially if you're on your ship. Land on Pehaelump and exit the ship, then look.
this is my pehaelump
Do you have mods that change terrain?
@quasi copperi think so
You may need to temporarily disable those mods, which will probably screw up your bases a bit until you put them back in.
@quasi copperi feel dumb now thanks lol
I hope that's the problem. Good luck!
@quasi copperit fixed it
Hey,
Did anyone have problems with completing phase 3? I think assignment gamma is bugged on me.
Went to the location that was marked, built the base, uploaded, the usual and it's acting like I never collected the map from the archives.
Oh shoot. I think I solved it. Didn't realize this was one of those analysis visor to pinpoint exact place moments.
And I'm out of chromatic metal after building this base computer.
I think you'll still be okay if you go visit the location you were supposed to. Once you have, you can build anywhere.
Yea. Didn't realize it wanted a supply depot area lol. I'm gonna upload my base all over again see if it completes it now. I just built the base before that.
Yea that let me collect my base reward phew. Cuz there is a giant sentinel walker waiting outside my door.
I got greedy on the balls again. 😇
Next time, turn off sentinels at a pillar, and then get greedy. : )
True. Force of habbit running auto pilot before sentinel towers existed
Plus it's 1:30 am. The mind is a sieve lol.
Same here on my one attempt. Burned but survived.
How do u get the utopia expedition role
Thx
Larval Cores - Is there a flatter place to get them that on Planet 4??
Make sure you do all the reward suit upgrades - Helps a lot...
Hello guys. Can anyone help me and give me 5 chromatic metals? On the third world and need some kind of gauntlet
iirc there are some rocks on one of the planets that has CM as secondary element, maybe try harvesting from those?
Nvm I got what I needed.
Now I have to craft the gauntlet. Do I have to go back to my base or does any base and settlement work
Any Utopia base will do
Ok thanks
No problem, in fact I've completed exp 9 twice now, so I can possibly answer more questions 🙂
Nah, it's fun
I was impressed at how many piles of floor tiles I found as other player's bases tho
Very nice! If only others took the example --
I was 200u away from the Star something plant that I needed.
And guess what
My fucking game crashes
Ugh
Ouch
Third planet
Why spend time on the bases?
You can just slap together some walls and you’re done
Because it's fun
I could have just save edited stuff in also, but I liked the challenge I set myself
Make some small bases, using the resources I can scavenge
I also have a certain amount of pride in my base building, I always ask, would I want this to be my home?
Damn. I just want my ship
Totally fine too
Most of the expeditions have been similar in that they don't appeal to everyone
Leviathan being particularly divisive on that front
I hate these drones
Do you mean, you're still fixing your hauler?
For me personally this expedition was a pleasant one
Diverse planets, diverse milestones, some nice story leaving us with a cliffhanger
I chilled on the first planet for hours gathering
No. The reward ship
I’m on the third planet
Oh, you're doing all this for the speeder
I like the quirky crafting mechanics to keep things interesting
Yes
That's the one I built underwater, since sentinels don't come down
I enjoyed it and really don't understand all the fuss around it
Verify game files integrity
console
In case of PC update your GPU driver (preferably clean install), close background programs to free some RAM
Consoles don't have verify integrity?
I’m on Xbox
Nah, they got reinstall
Turn off Multiplayer
That’s the only way?
I dunno, just a suggestion
Alr thanks
I think the restriction on recharging LS with oxygen made another challenge, but having the nutrient processor unlocked from the start was a pretty cool hint to a solution
And my game crashed again
Y’all realize why I’m calling this expedition a torture now?
Why does every world have to have a high sentinel level?
I’m just trying to collect some material I don’t need a battle
1st planet is a paradise without Sentinels
You can fly back there, collect materials in piece and come back
Then I gotta worry about starship fuel and launch fuel and stuff
You know you can shoot asteroids for Tritium for pulse drive?
And that launching from launch pads does not consume fuel?
You are making it into a way bigger problem that it is
But if you wanna suffer on planet with Sentinels, rough terrain and hazards - go on
Your starship does not use launch fuel when you take off from launch pads
The platforms you find near minor settlements or on trading outposts / planetary archives
GO back to 1st planet, fly a bit looking for these structures, land on a launch pad
And you dont have to worry about launch fuel for take off
Alr thanks
Starting out on a paradise world is a nice change, I think
Also, having food items being more important here is also a nice touch
Syurpy Viscera - Where can I get sweet root?? Which planet??
You can use cactus flesh -> cactus nectar -> processed sugar
I was just coming to ask where I can find cactus flesh??
It's going to be planet 3 isn't it????
Echinocactus, on the infested planet
Is that planet 4? The one with Titan burrows?
The one with the whispering eggs scattered around
"Idalth"
You can turn sweetroots into sugar, if you can find, the starter planet has them around
Got it thanks 🙂
The syrupy viscera dish is more to demonstrate how food items can earn good money, I don't think it's actually edible by the player tho
Sounds nasty anyway, lol
I just sold mine... 🙂
guys, after I finish the 9th expedition, will the expedition continue to 10?
No
will it reset to 1 again and repeat?
No
so?
It will convert to a Normal mode save, and we wait for the next Expedition and start a new save for that
I mean after 6 weeks will it continue 10th expedition or back to 1
Neither is the most likely answer - odds are there will be a 10th, but we don't have any official date. It won't go back to 1, these don't sit and repeat, they are time limited. The last two years they have reran 4 expeditions Nov - Jan, so that may happen again this year.
so there is a chance that I can finish the expedition that I missed the next day if they will release that content again?
If they rerun the expedition you are speaking of, sure.
thank you
No problem
Why is there so much sentinels on the 3rd planet?
Where the heck do I get Wiring Looms for the Advanced Mining Laser?
Last year than reran the four expeditions at the end of the year, December through January.
In my recollection HG has only re-run some of the mods up to three times new, but some only once (like the first one). The first one is the only one I still haven't done.
I sure hope I see the news and/or get alerted by someone if the first one ever runs again.
there finally a new expedition?

Having a hell of a time finding gold asteroids during this expedition. Are asteroids more sparse in this version of the game or just in this expedition system?
Where the heck do I get Wiring Looms for the Advanced Mining Laser?
Idk but the first planet you start on has metal fingers so you can get uranium & gold that way
if you complete and claim phase1 milestone3, you'll get it prepacked, just install on a free slot, no mats needed
I don't even know how many times I bought blueprints for thing with nanites only to be rewarded the same blueprint 5 minutes later on this expedition
HUmm, strange. I have one installed and it require material. I think I have another "packaged" in my inventory. Not sure why I have 2. I'll try removing the installed one and put the other one in. Thanks
That's why it's always good to read ahead (in game and in life)
yeah, for quick progression overall, it's best if the player sorta reads ahead, what milestones seem to require being completed on specific planets, which rewards they give , etc
Yeah, there's another planet (the exotic one) with gold deposits too.
many milestones provide valuable jump starts on multiple areas of progression
if a milestone rewards resources, or makes you farm some resources, often those resources will come in handy to complete another milestone
I never ran short on nanites, so I guess it was a non-issue in the end
But planning ahead is certainly the key to this expedition
i almost didn't unlock anything, and it's common for me to end up with close to 10k nanites almost without even trying
Is there any kind of aftercare support for the post-expedition newbies?
After jumping and claiming my ship, with no particular place to go, I took off, got scanned, and they found all the geknip that Utopia have me muling. Anyway, long story short, any tips for a first space-police-chase, for someone who's still in their slow hauler?
Can always call the Anomaly and wait out the fuzz
I didn't know what The Anomaly was, but I found the button and the death star just showed up and saved my bacon. Thanks.
Can't help but wonder though, I'm smuggling contraband, running from the law and I have a brand new Darth Vader helmet.
...am I the baddy?
All done!
@wanton frigate Yes, but bonus points for the Blackadder reference lol
I was going more Mitchell and Webb but anything that lets me stand in Lord Edmund's shadow, even if accidental, is welcome 😉
Oh crap, I got it wrong, lol
quick question, I happen to be at a convenient place to grab larval cores but I don't know how many I need yet, anybody remember how many that was?
@grand lodge Pretty sure they have to be collected at the appropriate step of the task
ah, so it goes
Are they the thing that come out of the eggs? Think it's 3. Or maybe that was as many as I could get before my nerves were shot 😉
But yeah, I think you have to open a fixed number of eggs as part of the quest regardless
How to I apply exosuit expansion units without a working station?
you add them from your suit, no need for a station
ah, turns out we can get the larval cores anytime! I decided to grab a few where I was since it was easy, just in case, and it worked fine for the syrupy viscera. The cleanse has to be done in a specific order but the cooking doesn't require it
I don't think you need many in any case, I got a bunch but only used 8 and I don't think that was the requirement, it was just the most I could make with the other ingredients
I don't see a way to do that. Transfer, move/stack and discard are the only options I see.
The ones you get as a reward? Those applied automatically for me when I got them. They're sitting as a stack in your inventory? If you have a save just before you claimed them, I'd try reverting to that save and claiming them over again.
That was way back. I'm hoping they'll apply when I get my next stack.
They should.
last thing I gotta do is find this bird...
Everybody's heard ... about the bird.
Any need for the runawy mold later in the expedition or can I convert it into nanites? I assume I can.
You don't need it for anything, so, yeah, you can convert it.
Let that mold refine into nanites and them the game crashed right after (5th time in this epedition).
This time the game actually saved on the crash looks like.
That's cool ... and disturbing.
Due to the crashes and instability of the PS4, this has been the most frustrating expedition yet. Not long, just frustrating.
Kinda boring so far too.
My condolences on all the crashing. I had a hard go of it the first few days, but the patch fixed my crashing (PC).
So I should have the patch on the PS4 right? I's not telling me about another update. I just updated less than a day ago.
As far as I know, that's current. I think it was just more successful in fixing problems on PC.
What is that cooperative rebuilding in utopia actually like?
More individual than it sounds. You can use other people's bases, as usual, of course, but each player gets assignments to build a base on each of five worlds. I enjoyed it, ||and the station is restored at the end||, which is nice, but it happens kind of passively.
So not that much new cooperative incentives or gameplay after all? Kind of expected I guess but wanted to double check
Helpful tip - when mining copper on the starting planet, be sure to set the terrain manipulator to the smallest setting - it will take longer, but you'll get more copper from each deposit - I have mined 1 deposit and have 1,124 copper now
Most players probably will just do quick minimal bases like with anomaly missions
I had one of those too. The aggravation, then pleasant surprise... 😂
Yeah, I hear there are a lot of stacks of floor panels passing as bases. Some people don't like building. I did some fairly basic stuff, but now I'm having fun going around and improving them little by little.
I was always wondering about that one, what about Total yield per hour
Small miner vs just mining a bunch of resource deposits with big ones quickly
It only took about 3 minutes to mine the whole thing
With small one?
What about big one?
There's only one terrain manipulator
Doesn't it take more effort with small one to mine everything out too?
Yes, but you get more resources from the same deposit that way. Depends on whether you want average yield and more of your time to do other things, or want to take the time to make the most of it.
Why not just mine more from another deposit?
You can, once you find another, I'm just saying we might want to get the most copper per deposit
It's not like they can run out
Once you dig it up, it's gone
sure, you just have to factor in the time running about from deposit to deposit
The deposits
Sometimes I'm just too lazy to walk over there. Also, I just feel bad not getting the most out of it. I have a hard time not setting it to the smallest and getting every last bit.
The deep level deposits, which don't run out, can't be tapped with terrain manipulator anyway
You probably miss some voxels anyway
Are you trying to ruin my day? LOL.
You're welcome
What's a voxel
the most fun is when you're mining on a stormy planet so you dig underneath the deposit and mine up
Anyway, in multiplayer in the expedition, it's probably polite not to leave a wasteland of pits where copper used to be for miles and miles around. Makes it easier for the next person.
I've always assumed it's most polite to turn off multiplayer at least for those bits
to avoid that exact situation
same reason I switch it off before harvesting from farmy bases
so the next person can enjoy it too
I play the Switch edition, so nobody even knows I pilfered their silos
Can you make biofuel reactors in exp mode? I am new to the game. Thanks!
You may have to wait for or purchase the recipe, but, yes, you can.
Anyone have any spare pure ferrite
There we go, completed Utopia expedition in one go :D
And yes it's 5 in the morning for me
Worth it
I never knew this
I assumed it mined the same amount, just faster (and ending up with more silicate dust)
Not recommended for areas near sentinels tho, they don't like mining ops
They don't seem to care about terrain manipulator use in my experience. Just the mining laser. Or weapons generally. Or running over and crushing resources in exocraft. That annoyed them.
Make massive hole in the ground mining Silicate? No problem. Destroy 1 tiny pebble? DIE, PLAYER SCUM!!!!
I've accidentally run over a creature with the exocraft and I feel bad about it :(
poor thing instantly died
I've accidentally run over a creature, and backed up over it to ensure it was dead - it was the humane move lol.
Well on stage 4 should finish tomorrow. Long as I can figure out this recipe.
I find they don't start suppression until one of them looks you directly in the face
Meaning you can just casually walk away, keeping your back to them
Sentinel: Hey buddy, I'm talking to you! Don't just walk away ignoring me
gah I'm not enjoying building on this planet, why'd they give me a nautilon blueprint if they assigned me to a mountain inland
Sentinels are very annoying too
It's a little more open than it tells you. Once you find the marked spot and get that milestone, you can build anywhere you want to.
I think I might try building an under-water base there this time
yeah that's my current plan
I figure the sentinels can't get me if I'm under the ocean
I think they can aggro on you near the surface, but if you have any depth going on when they're near, they might not notice you
I wonder if they fixed the bug where your oxygen harvester will loose your loot if you run a refiner near it
That's what I did!
The milestones gave some underwater stuff so I took that as a hint
Ah, cool -- Did it work pretty well?
Yep
I've built with extreme sentinels before, my first step is tossing down a prefab to stand in - then use build camera for the actual base build
Welp, time to find my snorkel
There's silver in the stalagtites in this map so I'm using that for an aeratiom membrane
Good idea
I found a cave with water access so I slapped my computer in there for now
I wonder if there's a way to learn new NP recipes besides just trying random ingredients
There’s a wiki
I meant, in-game
Wait
where do you get hydrothermal fuel cells recipe for the nautilon?
surely they must give you one somewhere
Hello, I’m here to ask for assistance again
Can I just fly to some random settlement/base and craft, or do I have to go to a utopia base?
It has to be a base of yours. I believe regardless of where it is. But def your base.
Huh I managed to craft while visiting someone elses base
If you can get to a trade terminal on New Kehille, you can just buy them
Completed the utopia expedition today
All of my bases consisted of a tiny wooden hut, with posters on the walls.

I tried to build observation platforms
On top of spires/over chasms
Getting the ferrite I need for that sort of thing takes a minute tho
I just wish my oxygen harvester didn't keep vanishing the product
What're you spending oxygen on?
It tends to reset to zero if I leave or run any other machinery
Using a medium refiner to increase my stock of a few items, by combining with oxygen
IF I have any
Oh smart
It's not an issue in my main save, but here in my recently started expedition, any help counts
For example, 1 o2 plus 1 faecium = 3 faecium, which converts to mordite, which can convert into meat products - for restoring health and LS power
I am glad the Devs included food products in this expedition, they tend to be ignored in most cases
Hey guys, how can I find the flying animal in chapter 5? I’ve already scanned the other animals
I think they tend to spawn in the evening, so watch the skies!
Do ship landing spots snap to the cylindrical room/cube room snapping points?
Thanks
They should, if you have room -- You'll still need to build a door tho
hmm can't get it to snap to the end of a corridor
I believe they snap to the rooms, idk about corridors tho
they do snap to corridors, the angle one has to aim at sometimes to get the landing pad to snap isn't intuitive
they also to prefab rooms themselves
be sure to double check pause > discoveries > system > planet > fauna, for possible spawning conditions for any of the fauna on a planet
Welp, I'm off to do my least favorite part, on the sentinels-with-attitude planet
oh hey I found an S tier mineral deposit near my bas- oh it's basalt nevermind
I think basalt is used for like, one recipe, and that's it
Welp, my settlement target on New Sesto is near a coast, so that'll make some other stuff easier -- maybe
So, I'm sitting in a crashed ship I found at my restoration site, sentinels all around, interceptors inbound -- I wonder what will happen if I get out of the ship, lol
Base building is interesting, while sentinels are shooting you, lol
Hey guys, is anyone looking for something to do at the moment? Because if you are, can you please get me 210 chromatic metals? I’m so fucking close to finishing this god damn expedition, I’m literally on the last step. I thought I had done everything and that I was finally done with it, but then the game said that I had to craft a hyperdrive, which I thought I already had. I just need 210 chromatic metals to be done with this, and finally get my ship. Please help me get it. Im so fucking tired right now, and I can’t rest now since I only have this one step left.
Nvm I got it myself
Now I gotta craft fuel for the hyperdrive?🤨
If you do this shit for “fun”, you’re a fucking maniac
that is why I got everything I needed off the start
Huzzah!!
Hop out dig down like 5 levels then restore the first one. Out of sight out of mind. They all go away.
There’s info in pins about locations of sentinel pillars…I just went there first and shut them down
Fun fact - once you unlock the hyperdrive blueprint, any crashed ships you find will already have one, altho it may be broken --
It's fine, the drone's lasers don't even hurt, it's more annoying than dangerous
I didn’t gather resources at start so they still did and the weather sucked. I did phase three underground. 😂 finished the expedition in 12hrs. With some goofing around
This expedition seems to be easier than the redux were, I'm about halfway through my third round, lol
The redux was fun I’m hoping they’ll do another one for first half. Just maybe change the color of the 1st expedition’s ship. Out of respect for those that were originally there
Who knows what the Devs have in store
Hopefully adding rivers is on that list. 😂
I’ve gotten pretty good at building gardens.
Being able to add some water features would be cool
Indeed
I would like to thank 'Bazreal' for building their little [half-ass] base right next to a copper deposit
woot woot! 🥳 don't forget to get the
role in #roles if you'd like the flair
that's awesome! love how convenient community bases can be in expeditions!
i just wish everyone always named them with helpful names
Many bases here have the procgen names still, I decided to at least number mine
That’s cool
Yeap - not sure how helpful it may be, but-- it's a thing
Also, when turning copper into chromatic metal, if you can put it in a medium or large refiner with some pure ferrite, you get a 1:1 ratio instead of 2:1
Could’ve told me that when I was doing the expedition
Um - this is the expedition channel --
I meant that you could’ve written that when I was asking for help here☠️
I just discovered it, actually -- sorry
It’s fine
Pure ferrite is easy to get though
Indeed
I need pugneum to build a thing, but I can't find it for sale anywhere, I guess I'll blast some sentinels to get it
for some reason the sentinels around my New Sesto base were completely chill
wow this expedition was insanely easy
And fast
i named the chunky red creature on the last planet "daddy" so if anyone sees it lemme know
dont creature names only show up for the person who named it tho?
nah ive seen other people's creature names before
mhm
I once saw I believe a creature while doing the expedition that was named "Guardians of the galaxy ragnarok" or something like that
Starwars may be dead, but the snow speeder lives in NMS!
oh it does kinda look like a snowspeeder
You can't jump ahead on the expedition phases can you
Yeah, for the underwater pearls
I'm trying to get the survey device early. Seems like it's not possible
It gives you the unlock as one of the last things
@shrewd pollen the pearls one can be completed early. also, that one has nothing to do with the survey device as far as i can tell? you get that from phase 5, make a base on Endil D2
Yep, the pearl example he Shadow mentioned was just an example of doing things out of order. I was hoping I could shortcut some of the chromatic metal requirements by setting up a copper mineral extractor, but as far as I know you need the survey device to set up the normal extractors.
i see i see, but whats preventing you from getting the survey device then?
On Phase 5? Just getting through the other phases is what prevents me from getting it early.
you dont need to be in phase 5 to do that step tho ^^;
The step to get the survey device plans require me to build a base on the final planet. Don't I need to have them tell me where to go to get that? Or can I just plop down a base computer anywhere on the planet and it will count?
hmm i see what you mean... but as far as i can remember i placed my base on the second planet where i wanted, not at that tower thingy
should be able to just plop down anywhere
Interesting...I think I'll give that a shot
i specifically aimed for building the volcano world base at a buried treasure ruins because they protect from hazards
has the bug with first person exocraft been fixed yet?
not yet
tomorrow's monday, team will be back in the studio hard at work i'm guessing
@shrewd pollen hmm so the third planet is telling me i need to build on a specific spot and that i need to get my instructions from Utopia first....
idk what happened on that second planet then ^^;
so it seems you can build wherever you want on the planet, but only after they tell you to build making it seem like they want it right there 😵💫
at least as far as i can tell
I got lucky and found a player base on Endil A8 that had all of the expedition kiosks available. I just bought the survey device directly.
But yeah, the base didn't unlock that step in phase 5
Finished my expedition
Mining copper for chromatic metal was the biggest pain in my keister. But it’s all done 😅
🥳 Congrats!
Hey. I had a question. For the expedition what constitutes "purging" a site of biological horrors? How big is a site? I'm not sure.
Thank you.
If I remember it is an abandoned building
A site is an abandoned building. You need to kill 10 of those monstrosities.
Start the quest and you’ll be pointed to the site. Go there, engage the nest, climb the building and kill the things.
what's yalls favorite planet in the system?
For getting anything done, New Kehille (planet 1). For hanging around and building, Pehaelump (planet 2).
For me, any of them will do
Not a huge fan of the restrictions in this expedition
They don't make it too difficult, I'm more than halfway through my third run
I think they give you coordinates so they can probably sort of randomize where people are so everyone doesn’t get too clustered together, that’s my guess anyway. But since you can’t use a normal inhabited space station, you won’t likely be visiting a lot of other bases anyway. You can build wherever you want, as long as you first register at the coordinates it gives you on the stages that require as such (and logging in at the buildings, usually colossal archives, one is a trade post if I recall) etc
When I started my current, I spawned within visual range of a shelter -- woot!
I finished the expedition a few days ago, honestly the only hard part for me was I am still new and forgot how to make chromatic metal 💀
I finished the expedition. Fun recipes again well all done.
Normal till you do around 5 expeditions. It takes time to get all the skills learned.
Is there anyone in here still working on it?
Well time to play Hogwarts Legacy. Have a good day. I will always pick No Man's Sky over almost any game.
Watch out for the 'trap table'
Won't finish Hogwarts Legacy till July getting every resource possible and added mod for every beast to collect 298 I believe.
Long road good luck. Been at NMS since May of last year and no way I have done all the recipes. Rest is 100 done except every galaxy.
I have a feeling I will be in this game for quite a while yet
And expedition complete
It's was a interesting concept.
It would be great if we could actually terraform planets
Or a chunk of land for your own little slice of heaven
Ngl I have no idea how to start an expedition
You pick a game mode, then new game, and it should be one of your new game options, over toward the right, I think.
Oh so it would be a new save file?
Yes. You can carry your phase rewards and final reward over into any other save, and when you finish, you get the option to convert this save into a normal one.
Are the rewards worth doing it?
thats for you to decide
It's a relatively fast one, and the rewards are pretty good, IMO. You get a helmet with a popular appearance, and the Speeder, a ship with some nifty upgrades.
Interesting I’ll have to do it then
the ship is very monochromatic...
Finished PS5
Started on Series X
After that, then I’ll do it on Switch😁
Talking about doing the expedition multiple times? I did it on the PS4 and now I'm doing it on the PC.
It seems to me that the game is just a bit more buggy in than it was a few months back. I've basically been away since the last expedition.
It is. Nomad exo craft is broken now (I get black screen when I enter it and when leaving it, I get teleported under the surface textures). And while the game used sometimes rare graphical bugs, which got fixed by restart, now as a bonus everything is shaking like crazy if such issue happens.
Am i missing something or do i really need to find 200 chromatic metal for the second base computer?
You really need to
If you'd like, I have a copper extractor set up at my base, called ||Utopia 1||
Also, copper + pure ferrite = CM at a 1:1 ratio, instead of 2:1 for just copper
I am good with copper now. The thing is that now i need to kill hungering tendrils
Buut the burrows vanish too fast ig players take them out
Finnaly found an intact burrow
Weird question
In this expedition is there a functional space station. Or a functional. Anything
This time around it feels horribly, dead
Yeah, that's the deal
Im stuck with a hauler and i hate haulers
Abandoned system we revitalize
Wish it actually was a game mechanic - do a chain of quests, abandoned becomes inhabited
Maybe not for every abandoned though
Maybe a space station gets turned into one of those pirate ones
Oh I like that
Not fixed but has. People
Yeah
You dont even get the anomaly
Aand now i feel dumb for not gathering any cobalt
I am just some ionized cobalt away from ending this expedition
Phase 3 of this exp sucks lmao
Marrow + Oxygen if you happened to unlock medium refiner, but cobalt is easy to find
Sentinels will not leave me alone
Wait the speeder is a fighter? I thought it was a new ship type
@surreal cargo It's a unique fighter type, with boosted atmospheric performance.
I see.
should be able to find some in any underground cave
under water or dig, they suck
I may or may not have flown directly into a black hole
proud of you
Finally i can change my appearance
If im gonna be alone and stuck looking at myself for this entire expedition id rather not look ugly
Fair.
Nah i got em. I just finished the expedition
I finished 1 2 and 9. Too bad my pc broke and i couldnt play the other 6
Atleast i am a pioneer though. I can say i was there at the beginning
Oh my god this space station that im 100% not meant to be able to get to has people with buyable ships. And PEOPLE
I got a Fighter
lmao
I'm not a big fan of fighter type ships, I prefer shuttles
With all the sentinels around, i am NOT fighting sent ships in a hauler
Shuttles are nice but i like how speedy Fighters are
Just realized that since theres no space anomaly station, we cant even get the cosmetics we get in the same save
Once you finish expedition, your save converts to a regular type of save. And then you can do whatever you want with it
I SHOULDN'T HAVE GONE TO THE TITAN WORM BURROW
AAAA
God damn it outpost delta isn't rendering
OH FOR THE LOVE OF
Is anyone else's Game crashing alot
But than cool moments like this won't happen .. we got there at the same time
Yeah but your game probably won't randomly crash and make the expedition impossible
Also it's weird my starting game made me that character and not a Gek this time around... I already completed the expedition once I'm just doing it this time around again
My game crashes usually when I’m mining deposits
I have MP and PVP off
This isn’t new behavior. It’s been doing this awhile
I still hate being stuck as a blue-yellow korvax
Once you can use the Utopia building thing to unlock recipes, you can build a appearance modifier for your base, think it’s 10 buried salvaged data, iirc. Gotta be able to power it somehow, so something like bioreactor module or whatever.
um am i supoed to check pins for the time of when the exped ends?
cause I didnt see it
ok stil have a month to do it then
Yeah, it started like 2 weeks ago, and they gave us 6 weeks to get it done
Also I should stop watching fullmetal alchemist while playing this game because it's hard to avoid the horrors of the utopia system when reading subtitles
This fucking expedition
life support running out
can't make life support gel because I'm nowhere near a base
Solution: break base life support tech quick
How do I transfer my phase expedition rewards over to my normal save file?
go to anomaly
On which file?
normal save
"Landing area not clear"
I've never seen a clearer landing area
Just died wooo
Planet 5 is so laggy
The game is screaming at me to Hatch this egg but I don't fucking care I just wanna finish this expedition
I also love how you can't go to planet 5 if you're even mildly epileptic
Analysis visor broke god damn it
I literally cannot find the restoration zone without that
find the plant of the biome (mpulse beans, etc) and consume to restore some life support
I'm making good time making my way to planet 3
Got to make sure the next planet I buy Pyrite
I feel like that's the point of this expedition like alot of us early in the first week made tons of bases designed to help those coming in after us
This is by far the easiest expedition i have ever done
When cooking is harder than killing giant parasitic worms then you know its easy
Well what I needed was to be in a base to make a singular carbon nanotubes
And also evade sentinels
On planet 5 I am basically blind
Also annoyingly I cant see the save beacon I left in outpost epsilon
I keep landing at save beacons that end up being bases
OK, still on phase 2, I died in the volcano crater. I don't see an icon to recover my stuff. Any clue as to where it might be? Am I screwed? Continue from here, or start over?
Restore from your last save?
Not sure that works as it used to, but worth a try
That worked. Thanks
quick tip for planet 3, use your companion to move around
the animals have weird physics with tall mountains
Alright just built a Base at the Sentinal tower for the 4th planet. And it has an exotic Multi tool.
The ship you get for completion looks so cool
I find it funny how after all the work you do for Utopia
Your final objective is to leave the system you just tried to help settle
Sad times
To me its just
“Yeah this galaxy is a lost cause, get me out of here”
Which is funny cause i technically left a LOT earlier than i should have
It threw me 681,000 light years away lmao
Lol nice
I flew my chonker the whole way, silly thing
Lol yeah they are not agile at all
I prefer shuttles or fighters
maybe an explorer
I love when explorers straight up look like tie-fighters
I main a fighter
Fighters are great
The one i got from the actually functional space station looks so basic
Its like a poor version of one of the normal sleek crisp looking ones
It was only about 4 mil
So honestly it IS a poor version
Lol
Damn, that's a bad hauler
Jet boxes are some of the best ships in the game. 🙂
Pre-Waypoint stats, so no Agility bonus
Someone else found the system and breezed through, I scouted the Fighter lol.
Same. I never play a converted expeditions save after completing the expedition anyway, so I just use tne stuff I get provided from the start. I do expeditions for the rewards only 😁
I don't know, the Utopia research stations are kinda handy, I think I'd keep them around
wait there's a functional space station?
If you somehow leave the system early
Yea
I got a random blackhole
And it sent me reeeeaally far
And i was able to see actual npcs and change my characters look
ah
well
you can change your look with the thingamabob you can build in a base, can't you?
I forgot lol
I do like the option to access every constructions and other research station without accessing the space anomaly. This is something I would like as a generic feature of the game but I doubt HG will implement it.
Trying to make Gelatinous Membrane from the Flesh Ropes. Why won't it let me? This is on the PC this time, but I recall that it did just fine on the PS4.
Is that a nutrient processor, or a refinery? It says "Refinery Output" on the right, but for all I recall, the nutrient processors may say that, too.
Maybe a refiner bug thing going on? This post is someone who seems to have the same problem. They had a refiner mod messing it up.

My game glitched and for my final stage I didn’t lose any life support even when using my jet pack
Weird. Sort of lucky?
Yeah
Ok, the snow speeder is well worth enduring this boring expedition and the latest bugs!
Yes, it was a mod messing me up too.
The refiner mod is the only mod I use. I only use mods to save a bit of time. I draw the line before the mods that increase loot and others which I find too cheaty for my taste.
I don't! : ) I love all kinds of mods. Glad you were able to fix it.
On this save at least just build all of them so you can keep them
Sometimes it's more handy to be able to access them in your base, like if you want to unlock something without travelling first
Yea
