Sure thing, the trading outpost I always look for is small, has a single guy in the main room and another guy down a short hallway that offers blueprints and components. Under components he always has a few, and they respawn after a short time. I usually build a base next to it and max out the suit inventories but it takes time. Other option is to just explore and get 1 slot per new station you visit

Yes, because expeditions are a way to showcase people who are coming back just for the rewards all the new stuff the game offers after a content update

In Blighted you started with a solar ship, the new type of ship introduced with Outlaws update and there were few pirate-related milestones

Now in Polestar the game lets you learn all the new stuff about freighters after they were reworked with the Endurance update

So the pattern is there

if you have a new emergency broadcast receiver you can go back to the same derelict in a system as many times as you like (and there is also the personal refiner trick for reuse of that receiver)

Maybe if they made it a pick and choose so you could do the expo you want instead of revisiting every single one

It doesn't

The expedition is a separate game mode, alongside Normal, Survival, Permadeath and Creative

You start a new game, create a new same, choose the Expedition mode and start playing

The focus is on completing challenges (refered to as milestones) in order to gain exclusive rewards

Those rewards can be then redeemed on any other save

Expedition is a limited time event, but if you have some recent experience with creative mode then you should be fine

Ah, ur right, but it is not needed while playing the expedition. If you are done, you get the spaceship hyperdrive and the possibility to upgrade, it and you will be able to get your cadmium to upgrade your freighter drive.

Go to the exp. tab, select phase 2, click on the first entry (-> read sec. protocol), select warp drive, follow the exp. path, continue in a pace you like until you reach the destination. Meanwhile scan animals and hire squad members etc, cause those are also stepstones, you doing neet to do them in order.

There’s one part you’ll need to be in a group to board another players freighter. Other than that it’s manageable solo. Takes a few days at a casual pace. Then the save rolls over to a regular save you can keep playing or you can just go back to your regular save.

You have to look for the actual RV point with your visor

It will give you visual and sound clues to the direction and proximity

What's one of the best planets with storm crystals near the expedition? I know I need to look on planets with activated metals, but not running into many. The problem is that I used the one Warp Hypercore I was given as a reward and constructing freighter drive modules which allow me to go to the red, green, blue systems requires a Warp Hypercore. Am I in a catch 22 or is there a storm crystal source in one of the main systems of the expedition I've missed?

Guys, idk if it’s a glitch, or what, but while just sitting in space, durring the expedition, I got a distress signal for a freighter rescue mission and offered a free one at the end of the fight. I haven’t been using my starship warp because I haven’t finished the expedition yet and unlocked it. Are these casually occurring space battles supposed to happen in these scenarios?

Twitch as it's third party program that your account is linked is supposed to be in constant connection to the internet. You can bypass that by going offline and changing the values with Save Editor. But it has to be offline. Meanwhile your savefile is stored on your PC, that doesn't have to have a connection to the internet meaning that you can change stuff all the time, even online. But in order to access the same savefile on other devices like extra laptop or steam deck you have to enable Steam Cloud that stores a copy of the savefile.

Depends when. If you want to claim them you can do it both online and offline. But when you use save editor and give yourself the rewards you did not receive during drops, you have to go offline.

you'll find them. in any inhabited system just take off from a planet or space station, hang around there for a bit instead of pulsing right away, wait for freighters to pop in nearby or look for them... then,

head towards them, when you get close enough you'll see the green frigate icon for recruitables

I just want to make sure but is my freighter supposed to be a C class? I know on the, I think, Leviathan expedition, you were supposed to get an S class multi-tool and ship but it could be C Class occasionally and you had to restart to get S class.

Sorry for the late reply, but I was not aware I had been tagged in this channel until now...in response to your question, the Units and Nanites obtained during the expedition will continue to be there once the expedition is completed and can be used in the game even after it converts to a Normal save file, but they do not transfer to any other save file and the only one you can spend that will transfer the purchases between saves is the Quicksilver so that would be the only useful one if your expedition save isn't your main save file

First character: spectral class (?) and color of primary star
Number: brightness within class (so probably high number = higher temperature?)

Yeah, basically all I had left to do was call in the Leviathan and then claim it and I would have been done but I used the positron launcher I think when I thought I was using the terrain manipulator and killed myself. I was pissed.

I hadn't been setting up bases towards the end because I only had a little bit of time before I had to leave for work and there was no way to finish it at that point before I had to leave.

Biggest thing to me is that you can teleport to your freighter. You don't have to fly to it anymore. I don't know about teleporting to the frigates. I'm not sure where that would happen if that's possible.

Yep, just send off your expedition and then run to your fleet command room and choose abort expedition and then debrief. I don't know if the debrief part is necessary but I know it at least counts it up for the milestone.

I just found the first crashed ship base I could see and fixed it up then sold it at the space station.

The contraband scanning was added with the outlaws update so that's not really part of the expedition but the broken freighter is just something that can appear on occasion.
