Dream Aerial only works for the first Lf you get, all LF afterwards are obtained by a random encounter, you can use anomaly detectors to get the whale song encounter.

When using the anomaly detector, don’t bite until you see whale song. May take half hour or longer but stay in pulse

Note, ship tech gets rerolled when someone trades it to you. So for example, someone has a ship with square 4sc layout and trades it to you, that layout will reset and be gone once you get it.

Ah, exotic ships. I remember my first one, found it in a system where I wanted to have a permanent settlement on a ruined paradise planet.

I saw it once flying over the settlement, and then at the station within the system it spawned twice so I grabbed them both. (The lighting here doesn't do it justice, but it's both orange and gold.)

Although when it comes to sentinel ship hunting, sometimes I wished I kept better logs on them, as I lost the system I found this one in.

All I know is that it's in the systems around the area I started at, though that is a big stretch.

At some point I'll grind out some carrier ai fragments and some echo locators to be able to find this ship again and to grab the glyphs for others to use.

You could try checking your discoveries page for the list of systems you have visited. Might jog your memory of where that dissonant system is where you found your interceptor. I’ve used that page to backtrack my steps to find my own forgotten things. Just another option to consider.

They're called solar ships, they can spawn in any space station but they're very common in pirate systems. Also the cheapest type, an s class if you find it only costs about 4-5 mil

IIRC you need to send out organic frigates on missions.

The utility upgrades are gained through organic frigates, though the regular ones are gained by pulsing around using your living ship, normal systems can only give you a small amount though uncharted ones (not abandoned ones) can give you an infinite amount

By utility upgrades I mean the equivalents for the conflict scanner and the water landing ones

Possibly the target is a purple system, if you dont have them unlocked, it will dump you into a nearby system. Alternatively, its possibly in a different galaxy to the one you are in.

Portal codes only work for the galaxy you are currently in, the dont work between galaxies

You can research blueprints at the freighter bridge for Salvaged Frigate Modules, and get upgrade modules from derelict freighters, or destroying pirate dreadnaughts or civilian freighters with their hyperdrives intact

The class is irrelevant, what matters is the subtext that tells you if it's a "Salvaged Freighter Module" for upgrade modules or whatever blueprint it is for blueprints

Blueprints have classes associated with them that signify their effectiveness, but that's irrelevent since you can install all of them at once

upgrade modules come as a pre-ready installable thing that you can have multiple of, while blueprints require materials to install and always do a specific thing

I went to a harmonic camp and got 4 C class in a row, got frustrated and moved system. Next camp gave me 4 Bs in row. Seems like that would be more statistically rare than the 2% for an S class

Stats are always equally randomized per the class

S-Class base stats are always within the range of S-Class stats, and never bend one way or the other for any factors

Keep in mind that unupgraded gear stats are always significantly lower than stuff with modules installed

Small recommendation if you’re using a harmonic camp. Claim a base at its location. And put a landing pad there. So you can easily land right at the camp, plus a free takeoff since landing pads don’t use your launchers fuel to takeoff

ok if you have a freighter then claim a crashed ship, fly back to your freighter with your good ship and spawn your crashed ship it will fix the launchers and pulse engine

an even better glitch is if while on your freighter and you put your crashed ship into archive then bring it out all your slots are fixed free of charge

It does seem like it would take a long time. Personally I never hunt for exotics specifically. I just hunt regular ships and eventually an exotic may show up

There's sort of a correlation, the more ships you're spawning, the more times you're rolling the dice for an exotic

Base stats look fine to me, and once you add your tech upgrade modules it will probably be OP against NPC’s. What’s more important is that you like the look of what you’re flying around in.

It's possible to tell if you've got a good stat roll on a ship but it takes some effort. You'd need to strip all the modules you can from it and figure out the base stats for each module affecting the stats as well as the ship's base stat

I've only done this with hyperdrive ranges because it's simple. The hyperdrive itself gives 100ly, the ship itself gives 1ly, and then anything beyond that is your bonus stat, which depends on class. And you'd want the highest range of 220 for hyperdrive on a stripped S class explorer

Not sure how sentinels work though I'd have to learn it's ranges

Sadly neither of those come in purple, but the exotics can be black and you can find purple squid ships

By not manually hiding the UI, the instructions will automatically hide from not moving but the glyphs in the corner won't

On PC, you'll have to use an external screenshotting method like Steam's F12 or the Xbox App screenshot shortcut to capture the glyphs along with the image

is there a way to make my pulse drive faster. I am sometimes having to move between planets that are minutes away even at pulse drive speeds.

From my observation, the actual boost speed doesn't increase with anything, only the number reading, I noticed when my solar ship that says it goes at 960u/s was way slower than my starborn runner at the same speed
Just the innate speeds matter, of which Sentinel Interceptors, the Starborn Runner/Phoenix and the Utopia Speeder have faster in-atmo speeds

Huh, interesting. I haven’t actually done a comparison between my “fastest” ships. But to his original point, I guess some distances are so far apart that no amount of upgrades is going to shorten the duration. In those cases, I usually get up to go refill my drink. 😃

hey guys im kinda new to ship hunting, so first off what the difference between hunting normal ship and hunting sentinels ship in terms of method?

"Normal" ships periodically land and take off at space stations/planetary trade posts and Sentinel interceptors are found on planets labeled dissonant in dissonant systems. Their location is found by either carrier AI fragments (Obtained by destroying Sentinel capital ships) or echolocators (Occasionally drops from inverted mirrors on dissonant planets). After interacting with the crashed interceptor, the game walks you through everything else.
