Sentinel Interceptor, a class of ship with the (almost totally) unique ability to kill it's forward momentum in atmosphere. They also come with a variant of the standard Photon Cannons, Sentinel Cannons, as well as a set of replacement for the normal ship systems that use alternate fuel sources

Somewhat hard to find and acquire though, as they are (in terms of lore) crashed Sentinel ships, and as such are both rare and not configured for pilots, so once you find one, you have to go through a short procedural quest that guides you on how to get it under your control

If you want one, outside of stumbling on one there are 3 ways to pinpoint a crash site for one: unlock a Harmonic Camp on a Dissonant world and choose to locate a "Dissonance Spike", take down a Sentinel capital ship in space and use the locator that drops, or get lucky and run into a damaged Sentinel ship while pulse jumping

Yeah, they're a "one design per system" type of ship, like exotics and living ships

So all you need is the portal address for a design you like

But first wave S clss should not be a thing, unlike the whole first wave Exotic thing

Pretty fairly easy to get, land somewhere like say your Freighter so creates a save point, then jump in starship fly outside, and warp to a Outlaw system, and if run into a Pirate freighter, get below it's shields and destroy it's engines so can't run away, then destroy main guns and it should surrender, if not fly into the trench area where shields are and destroy those.

Then land inside enemy freighter and talk to Captain to see what class it is,

If not A or S class reload that auto save point before you jumped then warp back to same outlaw system and there will be a Freighter battle again.

Just rinse and repeat till get A or S class

maybe. Outlaw system should only be about 5% odds for S.
That said there's still debate if exotics are exempt from Solar replacement.
If they aren't it could be some weird interaction with that.
If you're getting that S class consistently on a first wave i don't think that would be just luck

In a different situation unrelated I did have a Freighter just disappear once warping to a system that might be a bug

All ships are S class once you upgrade them

But yeah, if you don't have resources, you'll need to first find a system that spawns whatever ship it is, then you go and look around and wait until you see an S class of that ship and forcibly buy it from its owner

You can use google to easily find systems that have whatever ship type you're looking for, people have been ship hunting and posting finds for years now

If any ships (design wise) are not how they should be, its usually a case the original poster, put wrong info

They only thing that really changes are 1st wave exotic spawns that become no longer 1st wave, but AFAIK, that hasn't happened for a number of years

Getting a Living ship is a long process, and fully upgrading it even more so. It's really for ppl who are dedicated, getting the Quicksilver is definitely the easiest part though

What a ship is depends on the seed, and the station used to create goes into the seed. You're basically creating a whole new ship each different station except you're forcing certain parts and colors

That's why you'll get a different name at a different station even though you use the same parts

So, if you find a combination someone has posted online and they provide the glyphs, you can create that exact same thing with the same SC layout/stats

@dawn spade Best way of finding a squid is finding one that whose location has already been found. You can then use portal to said system, warp to a uncharted system, then warp back to squid system then use freighter battle method to potentially get squid to spawn, depending on how how many enemy ships are in the battle. The number of ships in said battle will always be the same number for that system, so if it is a 8 ship enemy spawn, it will be always be so, so the only other way is alternative/normal means. Freighter battle method also works in mp, so for instance if you had freighter battle and your friend didnt, your friend could sit in station, you trigger freighter battle, get squid to spawn, and your friend waits for it to dock at station. Details of Freighter Battle method at #bot-spam message

That method is best method of near guaranteeing and exotic to spawn, but is dependant on the 3 hr + 5 wave freighter battle, being a non dreadnought battle and having 5 enemy ships in battle and not an 8 ship spawn. Since Dreadnought battles were introduced the number of enemy ships in the bottom right might be more than 5, but as long as its less than 8 should be fine.

Well thats what this channel is for, sharing locations of ships, and discussions and tips for locating ships. I aint gonna argue, Ive had all this with the admins when they fetched the rule out. The post also wasnt neccesarily aimed at you, but the other people posting ships without correct info.

Yeah if you reload your save and go back to that system, it'll randomly change its class

Its completely random it took well over 100 for me to get an S class pirate frigate on main

I have a question regarding the special ships you can only claim on-board the Anomaly [like the special Switch ship, iron vulture, golden vector, etc]
If I scrap them to make room or they sonehow get lost [bugs or whatever else], can I re-claim them later on the same save they were scrapped/lost on?
Or do I HAVE to keep them forever once I've claimed them, if I want to collect them?
