side note that ship gifting only really works with unique ships, like utopia speeder, the ship on the thumbnail in that link
since its original implementation suffered changes, up to the point that we are now
it "works" with other ships, not as intended though
that said, otoh, getting the sentinel ship from the address other players got it from will ofc result in the same design/appearance inc color scheme

I've heard that too, but literally less than a month ago I traded a sentinel to a guy here. No problems. Unless something changed in that time..
He was also telling me my ship was blue. It is not. It's red. But on his screen the whole station was blue. Not really sure what was going on with him
As for sharing the coordinates, I've shared a good number of coordinates and would share any of my personal ships besides that one. It's a unique find for me and I'd like to keep it that way.

from what i've been told, there's some weirdness with the seeds and the exchanging of the ship; the ship player B gets has the seed of the ship player A got from the npc in the exchange

same idea, yes, except on a player freighter there can be up to 6 player ships, + another from another player - it's best to use the station imo, better flow of ships

If you look closely, you can see the red and black differences in what looks white. I personally think HG did a great job with starship detailing, but sometimes it’s hard to tell the actual color when lighting can often change

Id say solar been the two. Simply cuz they can recharge their own launch fuel and get better pulse engine use and maneuverability. Fighters get more damage but you don't really need that.
Yea the game is too easy to be sweating stats on anything. It's all just personal achievement to try and minmax anything
But I still think the usefulness of solar ships, especially starting out early game, is hard to overstate
Before the empire is up and running, launch fuel is kind of a pain in the ass
Especially on extreme difficulty when your starting pillar gets like 2.5 launches on a full tank 🤣

I wish modders would come up with something to give the game more natural lighting. I realize some planets and areas should have a little odd saturation to some objects but the effect currently in use is pretty obnoxious
What's weirder is like, I'll be flying in and be getting ready to land and a world will be very purple or something and soon as I get out the ship everything changes colors

I honestly don't see myself getting too many more of anything that's not sentinel

If you don't care about stats then just grab whatever. Doesn't matter really. Ijs if you want a good shot at a well rolled ship you at least want to start with an A

My understanding from this channel and others is that any ship can be good with the right gear, and trying to minmax stats is just pointless suffering to subject oneself to.

Wouldn't say it's pointless. The point for me is to see how ridiculous I can get my damage. It's a pursuit. Something to keep me going. For me, personally, if I wasn't chasing numbers I'd have filled my hangar 100 hours ago and logged off 🤷
But I've taken a radiant pillar through nightmare mode at C class with only a couple upgrade modules and finished the game. Everything will get the job done. You don't even have to place things in optimal slot locations

There is also a theory that taking a class from C to S gives it a chance at higher stats than a natural S class.

I've never heard that. From what I understand every ship has a max it can roll. Your chance at achieving that is no higher or lower when upgrading it or finding it in the wild
But seriously I've got a 3 spot guppie that's nuking freighters with hull shots in seconds so yes, you don't need that kind of damage at all.

Yea equivalent. But with an A class you can see if your SC slots are shaping up to be what you want. Like having 3 spread all over the board I'm not even going to bother with it, personally. But 3 in a cluster is worth me spending nanites to upgrade
If I'm spending that kind of scratch upgrading a ship at all, I'm expecting good performance. Otherwise I'd just leave it a C and be happy.

Mine i found. But I keep coordinates for anything I plan to keep and farm up a good SC layout on by putting a base down at that planet
But I've used coordinates to find like 4-5 of my other ships

But I enjoy sentinel hunting. Unlike any other ship, it's a real mystery what you're going to find. I've never found the same ship twice.

Correct. It takes you to different places. When I'm hunting, I go find a ship. If it's not what I want, I pull the mats off it and cancel the quest in my log. Then fly back to the camp, locate another spike and continue. Sometimes it takes you a few miles away, sometimes it takes you clear to the other side of the planet. But it was definitely proccing different ships

Id never try to find an S. If you find one, great. But an A is better, in that it's easier to find so you can actually farm slot placement and then upgrade the class later. That's just my logic with it. So in that sense, for me, every system with a sentinel is viable to farm. And it's not like you can just hop to another system real quick and farm up the same ship with better stats. If you find one you like, run with it.

No. It rerolls. It was stated here that a ship spawn location is locked to that class but I don't believe that is the case because I've hunted ships that gave lat/long for a specific site that was where someone found an S and I did not find one. But maybe 🤷 would take a lot of testing to confirm that, and I'm not that guy lol

Yea I've found a lot of S stuff, be it tools or ships and it was just trash so I ended up downgrading to A anyways for better slots. Not advocating everyone do that. Slots are important to me for reasons that make zero sense. It's absolutely unnecessary.

Never seen it. I've seen planets with patches of land so small I didn't think landing was possible but it was. Would be a waste of a planet cuz you couldn't land anywhere
They always have something hard coded. Or such has been my experience
