Id honestly say sentinels are the rarest. You can find one easily but good luck finding the one you want much less in the color you want.

After a lot of searching I'd say my main sentinel is about as close to what I want as I'll probably ever find and I'm very happy with it. But there are features on other ships I'd like to have over what I have. I just have zero faith I'm going to find more than the 95% perfection level I already have. I'm sure it does exist out there though

Conversely, finding a red squid ship in S class will probably take you 10 minutes all inclusive with the search for coordinates and the time to go find it 🤷

I know to Spawn those ships reliably you also need to start the egg quest in a different system, enter the system, get to the specific coordinates, go to the menu and hit "restart quest using nearby assets or whatever, make a restore point and then reload it

Yea I ended up finding one at the trading post. The photo looked like it was on the space station so that's where I started. Took a while and several more reloads but I got it. Though, I didn't know the actual color was white and metallic blue 🤣 looks good still but I thought it was black and white

Unless it's a specific class you don't need the coordinates because a interceptors look is always the same look in the given system it's found in each system has a different looking interceptor that doesn't change only the class and stats and SC slot placement changes

You'd have to search for it with a carrier AI fragment or camp. It's only on one planet and I never check the coordinates because one carrier AI fragment will tell you exactly where to look.

You think there is a method to the way they spawn the chassis?

I gotta say, they need to do more stuff like that they did with the sentinels. Exotics are cool and all but at the end of the day they are still pretty common to see in all the same flavors. I don't think I've seen a single sentinel that was identical to another yet. It's always fun getting to a dissonant system and trying to see what spawns there

I got lucky by being dumb lol. I didn't realize you could reset the quest and I was using one locator per find even if I didn't claim, so I farmed a boatload when they came out. I think I farmed freighter battles for mine.

This may be risky of a question to ask, but how important are perfect supercharged slots for a ship? S class is rather easy to find, should I ideally find one with perfect distribution too?

Getting 4 square SC slots is the most ideal setup for maxing a single weapon damage or maxing your engines, or warp, etc.

If you want to hit hard, 4 square is the way.

If you want a balanced dps/maneuver, 2 and 2 are nice.

Certainly not trying to argue but, afaik, the game has a very limited color palette for ships. Pink is on it but I've never seen it as a main color outside of ship creator and it's unmistakable.

I think Black in general takes hints from the environment. Even irl black isn't really a color on its own.

Former automotive painter. Black is one of the hardest things to match. Never looks the same.

I do some automotive paint material stuff in Blender. Black is indeed pretty hard to get to look right.

Irl black is made up of other colors. You have to use special lighting to see how much sepia is in it. In the booth it looks great. Then you take it out and in specific angles of sunlight it looks too brown or too blue. Very hard to work with if you're actually trying to make a repair look unrepaired

But yea as far as ships in game go, black enough for me lol

Solar ships can show up in any systems but a very low chance.
In the Outlaw systems they will commonly spawn though

it will be roughly around 95% chance - even though the probabilities arent necessarily additive

No I dont post modded ships, I dont use any mods for ships at all. I do have modded lighting though, to make it a whiter lighting to get a better representation of colours, hence why you will see most of my posts are on freighter

I've reloaded a bunch and seen an exotic spawn on first wave that didn't normally. The chance is there. But so far it's been my experience that the chances of you wasting time is also higher
