Pre-Waypoint, half of the Core Stats you see through Visor were generally inaccurate because they didnt follow the same rules for which things contributed to it, so this was a far simpler standard for people to wrap their heads around

@kindred kite The important thing to understand is that in procgen, Core Maneuvering is the first stat generated, and the rest tend to follow its lead when class upgrade bonus rolls are determined.
Simply put, high core mnvr = high damage and shield bonuses, low agility bonus

So all you really need to know is the Core Maneuverability range for a given ship type to get a pretty good idea of its potential

@woeful agate I thought it was obvious that it was an exaggeration/generalization - to get technical, black is not one of the selections procgen has available on the paint palettes used for ships. There are, however, several textured parts that either do not have colour options, or choose between 3 specific textured choices - in none of these cases will the dominant colour of the cockpit and fuselage be black. See why I generalized?

Cuz Venator is what I find FAR more often. Normally Venator class or Imperial Class. I actually just re-set the freighter battle about a dozen times, and got Venator/Imperial all but 3 of those.

Okay, that's resurgent. I did a lot of resets between today/yesterday, and as best I can tell, the largest variants are definitely the rarest. All you can do is keep trying.

I'd recommend a methodical approach using the pre-gridded lines. If that doesn't work, you'll have to methodically work your way through a cluster.

And then once you find it, reset until you get S class. It's a lot of work

No, it's a space battle. My understanding is the type of freighter that spawns in (as in size/type, not class) is fixed per system. After that you just reset the same system until you get the S class version you want

If you go to the glyphs and use a harmonic signal, you should get a ship that looks like the one he linked

If you progress through the main story, you unlock what's called a "portal". There's 16 different glyphs, and 12 glyphs in a row make up a portal location. So for example, the below glyphs will lead you to a specific system in the Euclid Galaxy.

So those glyphs correspond to a unique location within Euclid. Since the ships are attached to the system, people will come to a channel like this one, share the glyphs and what the ship looked like, and let other people come get it if they want.

That's my understanding, but I'm not 100% sure because I haven't finished the quest yet. I'm on the last step, but don't have portal unlocked yet.

But the way I understand it is you need another void egg, and then when you get the pulse event, it directs you to a crashed ship location and replaces it with the living ship.

That's how people hunt living ships, it's tied to that location just like a regular crashed ship.

Sentinel ships do not work like other ships there look is system locked so no matter what sentinel ship you find in a given system that ship will always have the same look and the same color the only thing that changes is the stats and class if you want to find a different looking interceptor all together you need to go to a different dissonent system

I faced a similar situation on an older save. Didn't have a friend for help so I started looking for glyps. There is a guide to get glyphs quickly. It requires getting 2 glyphs first. I followed that and got all glyphs within 30 mins. That was better in the long run coz now I could get another void egg and start hunting more living ships using portal.

I think you just need to get to the right planet, not sure if glyphs are necessary. The mission descriptions says “alternative means of transportation may be necessary”

@pine talon Okay, I dont see any issues. It should spawn in that system, but Exotics have a 1 in 301 spawn rate, so you may need to spend some time there.

I think ive waited like almost 2 hours or more for a ship to show up at times.

I've waited minimum 2 hours, never once got an exotic to spawn while waiting. All of them either showed up randomly or came in after a freighter battle

I've tried 3-4 times, so 6-8 hours total spread across different systems.

Oh yeah, I've found a bunch since then from freighter battles. Had 3 land randomly in the last 2 days as well, not first wave, but still early enough that I was still on the space station

I just thought I was gonna be clever and streamline the process by waiting somewhere for one to show up, and it didn't work out lol

Once you get your portal glyphs any ship is yours. But if im not mistaken every system has an exotic spawn either squids or the royal ones. At least im pretty sure its exotic to each.

Do you know about 3 star economies? Try hunting in those systems as well.
