I mean, we can color freighters but not our own ships? Lol

Honestly, I’d be happy with just adding paint decor and stickers, such as stripes, chevrons, war paint, fancy designs, and the usual stickers you can put on bases, exocraft, and companion accessories

Controversial, ship hunters and the coordinates exchange community would have a fit if it was added, i mean the game got review bombed for just adding the ability to change your games difficulty.

And the other side is people want it, it’s a 50/50 split, personally if they added it, i wouldn’t want just a simple, “oh you can now just change everything” i would like to actually hunt for parts similar to how the staff parts work, but more sparse.

The mechanic itself is built into the game just not out for public use

Because there have been communities and hobbies made from people using the existing mechanics to locate their perfect ship or someone else’s, customisation would essentially make that void, so i get why people don’t but i also get why people do, it’s tedious to hunt for your perfect ship, and to get one nearly perfect is defeating especially when you have been hunting for a long time.

For the games sake however, it would make more sense and be more fun for players to instead get a template like a fighter, and then have to scrap or hunt for parts at new facilities or something to make their ship, this would be more fun then going to a space station waiting for 50min then moving on, so gameplay would be fun

Really? I didn’t see my first time starting the expedition, I just know my freighter was a venator. (I had to get food real quick and I came back to the computer to see that I had severely glitched into the wall, and not even reloading saved me so I started a new expedition save 😭)

This is the coordinates exchange discord, you can scroll through there to have a look, but to actually go to a specific ship location, you need something called glyphs or you can taxi there using other players, i would suggest getting aquatinted with the game more before doing this, as you will only be asking questions that lead to more questions.

I never flew an explorer until the expedition, but it has firmly cemented my dislike for them (don’t get me wrong there’s cool ones out there, but other than looks it’s just a no go for me)

my experience is to use the portal, inputting the coordinates from other players, and ... wait, yeah

if you really want to find a very specific ship

just wait, because the spawn rate is not that high to begin with
