Towards the end of the Artemis missions, you'll get "The Purge" and you'll get the glyphs during that. Aside from that, I don't know.

||After you finish the quest 16/16/16/16, the next quest 'Purge' starts and you jump 16 times to unlock the 16 glyphs and then it will bring you to atlas to make a decision, once thats done you can use portals whenever you want, also this is the artemis quest line aka the main story||

@west zealot Pirate systems have the best odds of having an S-class, but I think it is still only around 5%. You can look on the NMS cordinate exchange reddit and see if anyone posted portal glyphs for a system that can spawn an S-class.

That's specifically for Solar ships, don't know about other ship types.

Hi! I'm trying to get my first freighter. Everytime I reload my save and jump to the outlaw system, the freighter has the same name. Have I messed something up or is there a chance I get an S-Tier with more trys?

it will always be the same name in that system, but if it's the first one(the free one) i don't think it can be S class

and pirate systemm is like 85% C class and 5% for the rest so you will get a lot of c class before getting anything else unless youre lucky

my suggestion to you woul be to find a tradeing post and then just reload ur restorepoint there. Wait for the first wave of ships to land if you dont see it or dissapointed with the class then reload again. Thats by far the fastest way to go trough the most ships

I just stuck with my A class sentinel freighter, not that worried about missing out on what an S offers above it, but if you know where you can get one you can always gamble and keep reloading until it is a better class

But I've seen people do like 120 and still not get theirs in S

aight so we have shuttles, they are ok, they are balanced on all stats, easy to get and normal size inventory even with upgrades, they are generaly a good investment if you want something immediately better than the starter ship, but are meh in all, fighting, jumping through the galaxy, boosting, fuel consumption, and cargo found on all systems

next we have explorer, they are better at warming between galaxies since they are more cost efficient, and can warp further than other ships, but other than that, same as the shuttle, and are found commonly in Korvax systems, look bug like

next fighters, better at combat but have less space than most ships, and pirates tend to have these ones too, other than that everything else is same as shuttle, normally found better in Vy'keen systems

next haulers, highest inventory space, low maneurability, and shield bonus(defense up) than most ships, like a tank, but the rest same as shuttle, a bit more expensive even as C-B classes, most common in Gek systems

then the more specialized ships

next exotics, they either look like a squid ship, or a ball with wings attached, they have a bit less inventory than other BUT they perform better in shield, damage, speed, maneurability, and warping, at the sacrifice of inventory, every system has one they are always S class, so its a matter of looking what color and model you want, tip the wealthier the system the easier is to find it

next we have The Living Ship, you get this ship and it has more tech space than the other ships, and more damage and warping distance bonus than the rest, they are organic so they are a living organism buddy of yours, you get them via the Anomaly station by buying the VOID EGG, doing a quest that takes several In Real Life days, due to the ships organs needing maturing, and once you finish that you claim your ship, and you get a unique one, to get more you need more Void Eggs and doing the mission again

as a continuation

NEXT we have the latest additions

The Solar Sails, you do more damage than a fighter but less than an exotic, and have a bonus boosting inside a system thans to the S class sail that's alway inside the ship, its fuel efficint, but has a smaller inventory, found in outlaw systems

Pulse engine equivalent with tritium or radiant shards

Shield with sodium or radiant shards

Found it on the wiki page fo rHarmonic Camps. It's dead planets and exotic planets that the camps don't spawn on. Other than that, I don't know if they have a chace to not spawn on other planet types.

S class are pretty easy to find - get the economy scanner for your ship so you can see where the 3-star or wealthy economy systems are. S-Class will spawn there more often.
You're going to need a few to 20mil though to get one, so keep grinding to get that cashhhh

You should hyperdrive 5 times and at least 3 hrs ingame after last time you help NPC freighter fight with pirate.

1. Make sure you have played 3 hrs after helping NPC freighters, and at least 2 times hyperdrive to trigger pirate attack.
2. Use portal to warp to this planet.
3. Fly to space, hyperdrive to the nearest star system, landing on the space station (or any planet) and save
4. Hyperdrive back to trigger pirate attacking this freighter.
5. After helping them fly in freighter to buy it.

Trade outpost i have found to be better for waiting for exotics and ships that don’t seem to come in the station, apart from that space stations are fine for the rest.

Just make sure you don’t let your ship sit on a landing pad at a trade station

Generally, the ship is self explanatory with what it does, but yeh i get ya, i wish not al ship types could just be upgraded to be unstoppable making it void to actually get a specific ship for something specific.

I think ships should have different upgrade limits depending on their class

fighters should be able to install 1 more weapon upgrade before overcharge
explorers 1 more warp upgrade
haulers 1 more shield upgrade
etc

that way you can really differentiate ships based on what they can do, but it is only confort at this point

It would require a rework to do but i remember being a poor new player and having to swap between ships for specific tasks, i had an explorer for my warping and maintained it only in that, my fighter was combat and i had a hauler for my storage and loot runs, late game any ship can be good, but to have an actual mechanic that forces such decisions would be awesome

Only repairing the cargo slots increases the scrap value much more than the value of the materials used. Always worth it to fully repair a hauler or s class , IMHO. Repairing the technology slots does not add value but scraping some of the upgrades can get even more out of the ship.

i was doing that to swap my default ship to a sentinel ship but when i saw that it needed to be repaired i kinda panicked and quit to menu in the hope that it hadnt saved yet, but it had

ended up losing my nice A class sentinel ship lol

but was able to recreate it with a save editor so no biggie
