Thoughts on this freighter, I got it from the free pirate saving thing, I am new so I would like some opinions

you can get better

next time you come across a pirate attack . Dont destroy the pirates, instead fly straight to a space station and land, then enter your ship again to establish a save point. Then you just rinse and repeat flying to the freighter(The pirates will be gone) and use your scanner to check what class it is. If it's not S then you can reload auto save and do it again

I’m having a weird glitch rn in my local space station where the same person and their ship return before they leave, so I get doubles. The first one was a fighter ship, the first ship was a B Class but the second a C, then the second set was a square-sailed solar, both Class C

Unlock all 16 portal glyphs (either by visiting traveller graves or completing the end of the storyline), then go to a monolith, select the correct option, then interact again and it should pinpoint a portal for you. Enter the glyphs shown in the corner of the image and you should reach the planet the ship is on!

My first sentinel isn’t great-looking so I may try to find a new one soon, currently trying to figure out how to make enough to get my first exotic ball. My solar has a soft spot in my heart for being my first great ship. I got a squid for free, also got a good fighter just recently. Also have an extra ship that I might scrap or use to exchange for a nicer ship.
Idk, I may just be picky about each lol, I like things with sentimental value lol, so my ship collection may end up having at least one of each 😆

For each system, there is only one type of interceptor, so you may search for a good SCS arrangement using AI fragments until you are satisfied.

look for the location of an s class frighter

easy method i found was to warp, save at station, warp, save at station etc etc. then as soon as you warp into a system with a rescue mission kill all the pirates check to see if the freighter is the style you like and if so go see if its an S class if not reload warp back to the same system again kill all pirates again check to see is S class if not rinse and repeat

also if the style of the freighter is not to your taste reload and warp to a different system and go from there

as long as you reload the next warp will always be a rescue mission

Stir up sentinels, take out waves until the capitol ship arrives, and slice it up. Find next dissonant planet and pop the dreadnought AI fragment. Land at ship and see it's not a design / colour I want. Loot its husk, but don't cleanse the brain. Leave. Rinse, repeat.
Is there a better way for hunting sentinel interceptors for the design I want?

I find that I enjoy finding a nice sentinel planet, like an abandoned planet or paradise one, disable sentinels at the tower or by fighting, then just fly around and shoot the drills to get the camp finding things rather than the dreadnought AI fragments, I never compared the time sink between 'going to camp then ship' vs 'fighting sentinels for AI fragments', but it may be a worthwhile alternative

Yeah, and if you disable the sentinels then your collateral damage on the drills will loot the debris around them

They do, I found a paradise planet with salvage scrap, go there to loot both, and trying to loot the salvage scrap will spawn corrupted sentinels that instantly die, so a win/win loot wise

Yeah, I beefed up an Infra-Knife ship and have been slicing up the space sentinels. I love land hunting more, though.

Probably doesn't help me that I keep accidentally slicing up the "good guys" too, though...

So, I’ve been at a planet in Euclid where a squid was supposedly spotted, been waiting since last night at a trading post with no luck. Am I doing it wrong?

I rarely do it that way. I use echo locators. I warp to a system with a high economy that is dissonant. I use an echo locator to find a camp. If the terrain is nice I use my exocraft to travel to the ship site. On the way I look for harmonic resonators to pick up some inverted mirrors and stock up on echo locators. After scrapping the first interceptor I revisit the camp with the beacon I placed and find another ship. I use my ship to travel to it this time unless I really need to stock up on more echo locators.

I drive up to the harmonic resonator to see what it drops, inverted mirror or echo locator. Then I back up like 10 feet (if you blast it point blank you will die). Then I blast it with my exocraft cannon until it blows up and skidaddle. I never fight the spider things.
