@karmic gyro You can skip the pirates, even if the NPC says a rescued freighter costs units, as long as you don't already own a freighter, you can claim and no units will be deducted.
And the missing segment with a ball in the center thing is a glitch, it'll fix itself on save and reload.

I'll explain the cheaper and easier way. If you get the Roamer exocraft and you get the max upgrade for the Roamer's scanner at the anomaly, you can scan for alien structures on a planet in the Roamer and then it will give you a monolith which you will need an item that will increase reputation, then you'll interact with the monolith once and then a second time and on the second time you'll give it the reputation increasing item which will then give you the coordinates for a portal

@viscid island Yes, but none can be as gold as the GV, ships with metallic undercoat can be no more vivid than that. Dark chrome is also possible, as are plum metallic (my fave) and rose, though on anything but a Solar, rose metal is easy to miss.

To save them you need to capture the "whole output" of the game and that's what Steams screenshot tool does

this is about 1.5 hours of capture
fly out the station, cap shot, fly off to freighter to inspect
but you can clearly see a pattern there
i need to link that still to an actual time of the day/hour and see if that's reproducible
and from that point on i should just start mapping actual freighter classes to see if there's a connection
it strongly feels like there is a connection that the higher up the rotation it goes, the more A classes I encountered, but as soon as it hit its highest point, it immediately degrades to C-class with lower slots, increasing the amount of available slots (and price) as soon as it arcs further down the < left

I dont know if I pick one color and the other two come with it, or I get to pick the main, secondary, and accent color

im not too fussy on colors, as long as it appeals to me... which is totally subjective, and goes case by case
rly the only thing I care about is: does it have all those components without the vertical stabiliser, and do the colors work
class/storage/price does not matter
