go to a trade depot, park on ground and see one additional ship per wave, slightly increase your odds, or find a system with a first wave exotic, or a crashed one if you don't mind repairing

You can build a base at a Trading Post and add 3 landing pads,1 for your ship, the other 2 will get you another NPC landing per wave for total of 6 at a time.

unfortunately the class will always be random on fighters, with chance of s dependent on system. just find a design you like in a t3 or outlaw system and keep trying to roll high class or pay to upgrade (and likely end up with better stats anyway)

Get to the cords claim this ship hauler. Save reload. Reset the star birth mission. (applicable only if you have done star birth/living ship mission before) this ship is less than 1000u away from the following living ship. But the hauler needs to be claimed first else it spawns in a different shape and color rather in black red gold. (Tried and tested 10+ times)

@kindred hull The key to resetting Starbirth is that you want to be able to see the crash site as Unknown Building through your visor - if you get close enough/point directly at it with your visor, you risk identifying it as a Distress Signal, at which point no LS can spawn there. Reset Starbirth will automatically use the closest unidentified Distress Signal to spawn an LS if one is within range.

Yes you are right that should happen...but what if there are two within range and both are shown as unknown buildings....but i tried to get to cords of ls directly it did not work...it always turned s class hauler into a living ship which was away from me .... Rather than this same hauler in b class at ls cords... don't worry i am only helping so other ppl don't have to face trouble like me.

Reset starbith misson uses nearby ship...if its the only one there but if there are two within range....then it goes for the higher class one first. Atleast that's what I observed.

@kindred hull My observation has been it literally chooses the closer of the 2 - it doesnt always seem that way, until you factor in elevation difference. Either way, when in doubt denying a spawn point is super simple - just head over and use your visor to identify the site as a Distress Signal, LS can no longer spawn there, done.

Pepole found most models of old ships types. Solars have les variation but they have solar sail colour. Mostly pepole want matching ship and sail colour and it could be hard to get the one you want

All solars hide sails when land. When you fly in atmosphere they spread engines but they dont open sails

Yes, the service bot at C&S can deliver them for free, as does Battlegroup Savannah. The guy in GHub sells them for HubCoin, which may not be real money with value, but does require jumping through hoops to get set up and earn.

The base stats don't change, but the bonuses re-roll to the next class range

For example, changing a fighter from B class to A class will change the damage bonus from between 15-30 to somewhere in the 35-50 range

The end result will be similar. Could be slightly better or slightly worse. It depends what you have more of: Time (to find the S class ship) or nanites (to upgrade the class of a ship)

@winter obsidian The question of purchased at vs. upgraded to S Class for ships is a little complicated. When you purchase at S Class, the bonus rolls you get are RNG within the ship type's S Class ranges, ie Fighters will get anywhere from +55% to +59.99% Damage bonus, and +15% to +24.99% Shield bonus.
On the other hand, when a ship is class-upgraded, the bonus rolls you get are NOT random, instead they are tied to the seed of any given ship. So if you bought 3 of the same model from the same system, in C, B, and A Class, and you upgraded them all to S, they'd all have IDENTICAL base stats.

Now, the complicated part; base maneuverability is derived directly from each ship seed, and there are no bonuses applied after the fact like with damage, shield, and range. The bonus rolls you get when class upgraded are heavily influenced by that base maneuverability, if it's low, you'll get low dmg and shield bonus, high maneuverability will give high bonus rolls.

So, the full answer to your question is that with high quality ship seeds, you're better off upgrading to S Class in order to pull those guaranteed high bonus rolls, and for low maneuverability seeds, purchasing at S Class will often be the better route because you can usually RNG better bonus rolls than the low locked ones from upgrading.

Enter glyphs into a Portal. Find a portal by finding a Monotlith on a planet, answering the question correctly, then visiting it again and asking for coordinates to a portal. Once you get to teh portal, you need to "charge" it with resources.

Glyphs will get you to a portal on the correct planet. Glyphs must be used in the same galaxy as the desired location.

Should take a few minutes for the ship to show up. If it doesn't after about 10 minutes reload your last save (your auto save from when you landed) to refresh the ships to a second pallet. Each system seems to have 2 or 3 set of ships to spawn.

What you need to do to get the same freighter is you wait until you warp enough times or played enough hours that when you warp to any system it’ll trigger a rescue Freighter Mission

When that’s ready reload and I need to take you to a neighboring system, from there you warp to the actual target system where it will spawn the same exact ship bit the class will be completely random

From there is where you can get the same freighter

You can’t sell freighters to players

You can only get them yourself but each capital ship model is seeded per system so that system will 100% spawn that look of the ships but class will be random

Its on a pirate system so it has the highest possible chance for an S to spawn being 5% instead of the usual 2% in T3 systems

@sacred hollow With one key feature - it retains its form when traded to anyone through NPC. Slots and tech get rerolled as per usual, but any platform is capable of flying one like it, provided they can save edit or meet up with someone who can.

Well the expedition is a new save but there's a handful of objectives to complete along the way to earn unique loot in your main save. However, as its a new game save you won't have your usual gear available hence getting a solar ship helps to alleviate the fuel costs and allows you to focus on the challenges instead of ship upkeep

But to make sure we stay on topic for the channel suffice it to say that Solar ships, in my opinion are the ideal ship if you want something which will do most everything well and have the least maintenance overall allowing you to continue travelling and exploring

Now I hate it since I fly over a wonderful ship, I land and met a stupid Gek not even able to craft a metal plating to repair its ship. Today it happened 4 times in a row. Exit the game and do something useful instead. What is your opinion about that feature they add, I mean crashed ships you can't even get for yourselves ?

Sounds more as bad luck i also like ship hunting that way. But i don't come across that alot. Maybe 2 or 3 time on a day.

@stiff zephyr Spam Emergency Charts to get 5 markers, check the 1st Distress Beacon with low flyover and if you don't see the metal ball by it, tag it, otherwise, tag the other one. For the rest of your session you can now avoid the distressed pilot, and only clear the claimable wreck marker before spamming charts for another one.

Alternatively you can use nautilus drowned ship scanner. They never have a pilot and you can always claim them.

@rough crypt Only squid exotics come in pink, and while pink haulers/fighters exist, the colour is always washed out so they only look pink in the right lighting conditions, so about 1 in 20 systems in space, and 1 in 15 or so planetary atmospheres. Euclid galaxy for this one.

What would be a good method for finding exotics in a random system? I've been at a trade post for a while and haven't seen one spawn yet so was curious what was the best way of going about finding them.

what's the economy level? trade post is already the best way, make sure you're parked on ground not on a pad. can also drop a base computer and drop some more pads if you're really committed to seeing more ships at once

Like, say I inspect a hauler and it's C:30+12. I know it's a C class but how do I know what tier it is?

You cant get more living ships after you finish void egg quest. You dont have to do the quest all over again. Just need new egg and be ready to have 10k nanites
