Birds can be tamed by certain users of the pets mod. I do not know why it works for some and not others. All others are created manually in save editing.

I don't know what this games deal is with tiny heads. Lots of otherwise interesting pets I've found with absurdly tiny heads. This cat is one of the best I've seen and even its head is a bit small.

you can put gold on 2 eggs from the same creature and you'll get different variants

Yeah the untamed version doesn't have the floppy ear and different head proportions. This ear type on any wolf head variant flops when tamed and it gets better proportions. This is consistent across multiple cat creatures and different head parts.

I think I might have glyphs for them, or at least a base near some, can check later. they're fairly common in red or green star systems in ancient galaxies, have come across them a few times

the eye colors and pupil shapes vary from planet to planet but otherwise look similar
