(it is heavily advised to avoid modifying system time)

I believe I found a relatively consistent way to pick up an overly large egg: fly on top of it, land, then slowly walk away while having your cursor pointed at the center. The moment you walk off the edge immediately jetpack and try to fly into the egg.

Creatures that fly very high cannot be interacted with and adopted from the wild without mods, yes. You could ask for a companion egg of one from another player, which would be mostly functional at least as a "mount".

Know that you can only interact with creatures while standing on the ground, so any creature that looks ridiculous to reach while standing on the ground is off the table for being able to be adopted right then and there

They can only be found in non-yellow stars, outside of lush and empty galaxies at least

All the same per the %s reached, and all creatures of the same "type" have the same limits as each other that can be easily reached by giving multiple +100% size doses until the size says "inherited"

the most efficient items to size companion eggs up IME have been gold and platinum

Generally the gene splitters results are random for any creature seed, so one item used for one Dino creature may not give the same result as another Dino with the same item. The gene splitter cannot change the pet to be another creature type.

The gene splitter is really just trial and error.

I can tell you tho that for three of your creatures listed they will only have 1 other alternative model if any item is used in the gene splitter. Your two flyingsnakes and one flyinglizard

Dependent on creature type, have a look in the pins, this details some colour variations for certain creature types.

For flying lizard and flying snake I like to use this chart.

More reliable for the flying lizard but can work with the worms.

To help fast track this a bit, The standard expedition worm will only have two model variations when using the sequencer.

The below chart might help in colour variations.

All flying lizard and flying snake creature ID will only have two models using the sequencer, the model it’s been generated with and a secondary seed.

Yes, flying lizards follow the same mechanic, trying to stay a set distance off of the ground. They do have large swings up and down which makes them much different from worms.

A flying worm egg was a reward from Expedition 4 and Expedition 12, and they can be save-edited to have the appearance of any worm part combo, possible or not

By tamed I mean the act of interacting with the wild fauna and adopting it as a pet.

If given an egg by a player regardless of if the creature allows taming in the vanilla game it will be a pet in your register.

Depending on creature ID depends on what interaction you can have after the fact, flying snakes and flyinglizards both allow full interaction once they are a pet.

I could give you companion eggs of creatures that kinda resemble dragons! The first few aren't really intended to be companions normally, so they don't ever land but can be ridden immediately after summoning to travel huge distances. The big wormy ones are similar but less chaotic

the creature's current size is just that, modified by it's age until it's an adult
