Found my first diplo the other day! It comes in mushroom and gigachad varieties. It's enormous, too. Grey, white, and tan with subtle red accents. Euclid Galaxy! I'm really glad my first diplo is at least somewhat aesthetically pleasing and not an eyesore!

So as far as I can tell they are only found in the water on purple system planets.
They won't show up on the list until you identify them, but they are already listed as one of the animals.
This also means you can never get the nanite bonus for identifying all animals.

Does anyone have an eagle-like bird pet (photo) that I can get an egg from? Colour doesn’t matter, since you can change it. I know some people have them.. but I can’t seem to tame them really, they’re always incredibly high up😭. Or a tip to get them as a pet, that would be in incredible too.

Save editing or mods are the only way to get high flyers as a pet.

To capture them you should build a fairly tall tower, grab the Biodome blueprints, go into camera mode during building and enable free placement and just wait until one flies into the placement area

Just a heads up everyone, Since the update, the Flying Lizard (Dragon/Bird) is a bit broken , They fly really fast now and the POV is placed further behind the creature (Not good for scanning hotspots ). Others pet editors are telling me they are also having issues with them dipping into the water and dismounting. Flying Snakes/ Sandworms are still working good.

You can remember which world it comes from and tame a new version of it. Sadly eggs can't be transferred back to a main save

Make a base computer on that planet, and you can warp to it after the expedition concludes and the file merges with your main. Otherwise photo mode can reveal the planet’s glyphs to use the portal network to get back there.

Low flying fauna like beetles, floating things and other weird stuff work, and I believe ocean crabs will work in the next patch but birds and sky worms cannot even be interacted with
