Well, I didn't know that tbh... So, there's no chance (atm) to play olden expeditions?
Low chance. Once HG throwed in mixtape expedition with rewards from difrent expeditions
i hope colossus can carry other stuff, like it can carry material more that its own inventory, colossus is already have big inventory slots, but maybe we can use it to carry something like animal or raw material to be processed later, and it not just a garbage truck
or colossus can be used to carry weapons like rail gun to shoot down annoying pirates ship
tbh, any vehicle storage is not enough in late game
i have a alot of ship just to store items
i wish that was real
it looks amazing
yes, big guns is always looks beautiful
fr
what do we think the next expedition will be?
New underground biomes for every planet, separate and requires no rewriting of existing planets yet have seamless transitions when you dig down to them with no loading screens.
Discover forgotten subterranean species, vibrant flora and minerals containing materials you can't harvest anywhere else. Build a new dredger exocraft that can dig fast and stick to walls. Learn blueprints for underground housing parts, power your home with geothermal generators, build permanent tunnels to the surface.
New expedition takes you through multiple worlds with the most extreme storms, only habitable underground and connected through mysterious portals. Discover the history of an ancient Vy'keen civilization buried miles beneath the crust.
Also exocraft racing revamp somehow.
do you think NMS can be 4x kind of game?
we already have explore and maybe expand
idk about exploit and exterminate
maybe not
in no man sky we can explore every planet we found, but if it becomes civilization games is too complex
That's what I'm saying!
.
I can imagine 10 different freighters warp to the space around me, each having like 15 frigates of their own
I feel like Remnant is a first step towards this direction tbh, I think I can see the vision behind it.
Thats what im saying!!!
its kind of silly that exocraft combat is so far strictly inferior to non-vehicle combat
putting aside the fact you can upgrade your multitool weapons infinitely more then exocraft weapons
it doesnt even have a seperate health bar or shields like ships do, it hits your exosuit health directly
Where is this screenshot from btw?
its from space engineers workshop, that what i found from google images
Oh cool
Yeah, but the Minotaur with its Liquidator Armor and flamethrower arm is so badass looking it still makes it worth it.
Though I pretty much never use the vehicles myself due to me always going on unintentional killing sprees with them because fauna tends to render so slowly.
If I ever want to engage with the scrap hauling outside of the expo, I‘ll need to find a scrap planet without ground fauna.
Still, the exocrafts are nice roleplaying additions. My main base is on an extreme Frozen planet which has both fossils, as well as storm crystals. I always imagine my base NPC‘s going out there, collecting and selling those things while fighting the ancient guardians and such using the vehicles.
The minotaur has supreme aura. Which makes the fact its gameplay utterly fails to live up to its aura mechanically so much worse.
Yeah, we‘ll see if they intend to eventually give some love to the other vehicles as well, or if they‘re just gonna leave it at the colossus.
Part of the reason for exocrafts generally not being appealing is also the gameplay and the circumstances around it. Planets don‘t really vary enough to make using them worth it.
If there were actual mud, quicksand etc. planets it would make more sense. Vehicles would thrive in dangerous environments, the Nautilon is an example of such an implementation, and really the only essential vehicle for a certain part of exploration.
If there were more actually dangerous planets with more specific types of threats, exocrafts might become more important. I was expecting gas giants to be hardly traversable without an exocrafts, but you really don‘t need one. The tornadoes can be annoying ig, but by the point you unlock purple systems you most likely have enough S-Class shield upgrades that nothing can really pose a threat anymore.
Yes, in most scenarios you don't really do a lot of exploring around the ground unless you're just collecting resources or aimlessly exploring. There's precious little reason to actually go somewhere where a starship of any breed doesn't comedically outclass an exocraft.
Yeah, that‘s another topic…this issue was a bit mitigated back when we couldn‘t just summon our ships everywhere, but I get why they saw the need to „fix“ that in the sense of a QoL-fix. But honestly, if they gave us an option in the settings to disable ship calling, I might actually make use of it. Maybe.
For ground exocrafts, imagine if there was actually a more compelling reason to land on and explore volcanic planets. Their erruptions can be dangerous, but only if you‘re really up close (actually the only thing that has managed to kill me in the game that wasn‘t a bug).
For those planets I feel like using exocrafts would make sense, since when the volcano errupts, lots of rubble and rock could potentially hit our character (not really the case right now, but could potentially be implemented?). Or there could be planets with intense meteor showers. Wherever these meteors strike we could go and harvest some valuable materials, but there‘s always the threat of another meteor shower coming down and hitting us. Those should cause major damage, so that we would be forced to use a vehicle as an outer shell of protection.
I am aware that there are already meteor showers in the game, but they‘re just flavor basically, and I think planets dedicated to such a phenomena could offer a new thrilling and lucrative activity (or just give us a new unique ressource, which would be used for a set of new things or crafting of a specific type).
Combat would be a valid reason, since trying to fight ground enemies in a starship doesn't really work- It just summons starship enemies instead.
Maybe a few new activities that are mostly found by using the exocraft specific scanners.
Not unlike the recent update. (But hopefully, uh, better.)
Honestly this actually helps me develop my idea further; imagine if there were some things living on the meteors (akin to quiet place for example, or dozens of other sci-fi inspirations) or just a species which latches on to them in order to travel. Wherever these meteors land, the planet gets overrun by this unique species. So this new unique planet type would come both with a new environmental threat, as well as new mobs.
Vehicles would already be required due to the nature of the meteor threat, so on-foot combat would be risky. The new mobs could also have like some sort of tanky armor which can only be pierced by exocraft powered weapons (they do survive meteor impacts after all).
Hmm, maybe I‘ll Zendesk my idea to HG. It‘s not without flaws, but I actually kinda like it lol.
Worth a shot, I suppose.
I wish this game was easy to mod, we'd have the best space survival sim of all time
Might want to check out the modding section, there is a lot of mods for it.
yeah game needs overhauled combat imo, space combat feels plain and boring asf unless your fighting another player, ground combat isn’t terrible but doesn’t feel like i’m using a gun
multitool feels like water gun
it’s not that far fetched, 2025 was more big game changing updates then small content adds
wouldn't be shocked if we continue to see more stuff that also functions as testing/teasing for LNF similar to worlds updates
hoping combat is part of that
honestly something similar to helldivers guns would be sick for no mans sky
but a big part of no mans sky is actual multiplayer that functions
we need more dynamic NPC interaction
more interaction
like we can kill them when we shoot it with with multitools
or we can have npc companions or followers, they can shoot enemy like sentinels and do stuff for you
imagine your settlement get raided by infantry instead of ship, and your people can get killed
humanoid npc should have combat mechanics and not just standing still
they only fight when they are on ship, or we can raid them in their freighters, we fight in ship bridge
game needs some actual cutscenes
using my imagination as it just tells
me in a little text bubble that i’m doing smth isn’t fun
Well, NMS is now on sale on Steam, though it probably has nothing to do with a new update dropping soon(-ish)
These next seven days are Steam Spring Sales after all.
Yeah. Its probably spring sale . Not update sale.
i wish the generic multi tool weapon augments you get from defeating sentinels and opening the glass things actually applied to all multitool weapons
and not only to the boltcaster, leaving the boltcaster then unambigiuous best weapon because of it lol
Even if they affected just the boltcaster, pulse spitter, and the shotgun one it would be a good start...
I still always install them regardless, but one thing to keep in mind is that they would make the other weapons even more op…the boltcaster kinda needs them to keep up, even if it ends up making it stronger than necessary; but the other weapons are more than fine without them.
I have to say, i really hope we get corvette landing pads, would be really nice for sky bases and such
Imo if we can park in air we need some air dock. Honestly ground landing pad would feel like a downgrade for me.
how likely do you think it is to receive a massive flora and fauna overhaul ? Im talking about real ecosystems, different animal behaviours, dynamic population numbers and wild breeding and hunting, pack behaviour and so on
Very unlikely; the Worlds Updates of last year literally did come with a biome refresh and introduced tons of new fauna, flora and assets in general.
I‘d like more complicated behaviors too, but the procedural nature of this game makes it a challenge, as proper pathfinding is hard to do for the procedurally generated creatures who also have to navigate a procedurally generated world.
such a pity
isnt this what the whole game is about ?
i wish they stopped adding new nonsense and went back to overhaul the core aspects
i have lost all hope
idea: we have black hole systems - what about having relic gate systems.
Planetless systems. Where u have star as physical object and only asteroid fields or destroyed space stations and other space encounters where space walk would actualy be usefull
I 100 percent second this, or like have something to do with freighters after getting damaged having to space walk out and fix things
NMS is freaking good. Yeah, rocky start, but, they got much better. Sean knows how to make things better. I think everyone must say Thank you to Sean for the awesome game we all play called NMS.
I'm not even saying this lightly either, other games are greatly under delivering and nickle and diming people into oblivion for their broken game.
Sean is fixing the game, improving the game, not even nickle and diming us to oblivion and is giving is every update for free. Starfield, Elite Dangerous, Star citizen, even Star Trek Online, Eve Online, and Star Wars The Old Republic are guilty of nickle and diming into oblivion.
Sean has not just broken that mold, he SHATTERED the mold, and has produced a stunning and beautiful and extremely high quality game that we all know, love, and play.
Sean, if you see this. Thank you very much for being one to listen to us, our concerns and so on. Thanks for actually caring.
thats cool, like imagine accidentally drifted in empty space without any planets or even asteroid, no resource, and your warp fuel is empty
maybe we will have space rescue mission lol
There need to be some bare minimum resources for anti softlock
Since switch 1 does not have mp
imagine finding player that lost in space in every corner of galaxy
idk about that
wait, how many platform nms can be played with
Switch 1, 2, ps4/5 ,xbox, gog, pc steam ,
At the exact opposite end, planet-rich systems. You have between 10 and 12 planets but they're all skewed to be small in size (though you could get up to 2 giant planets in the one system, extremely rare)
actually i would be more than willing to pay 10-15 bucks for properly developed and polished content
The ONLY thing I can suggest as a feature or things is an environmental update like extreme weather being able to destroy or break things like parts of building or giving us a a challenge fix building or terrain being changed around us (metorite strikes actually changing the ground leaving holes for us to repair) or mi I jobs like repair your electric lights after storm damage
Apart from mods a workshop where the community can give exclusive content for the game?
I would love to see us get the ability to spend resources to rebuild abandoned stations. Hire vendors, services. That would be awesome.
Claim an abandoned system as your own.
Some NPC tram or buses ships that would fly back and foward from planets poi like archives or trade putposts to space stations
And some from station to station for a fee+ item. rep item or other dedicated for travel (cant chose any station ) the space buses have set routes and time when they are available to use per station
I wuold like to get a cannot so powerful to be able to DESTROY PLANETS
Just rename as your own it and place a base?
The point wasn't so much as naming the system as designing and maintaining a station.
Same thing should apply to our spaceship as well
Maybe even allow a player to assign damaged ships found to perform this task, after a bit of refurbishment and repair...
Would give some extra life and purpose to shuttles
you can design space stations?
No, was discussing thing we would like to see in the game.;
ohh ok
that would be cool tho, i noticed they're modularly procedurally generated, so that would be like the character customization
Nah. I thik something frigate size drived by npc. Shuttles have only 1 seat.
Shit on Sentinel lore or whatever, cities should appear on more developed systems and they would be marked just like a space station, though a city update would need to come with another grand feature like a more realistic flying system or better exocraft, everything in the game is way too convenient, there is a lot of click happen stuff like calling your ship, it literally does a Tp directly to you, same with Exocraft, it would be straight up cinematic to be able to call a corvette, frigate or freighter to drop your exocraft or have your ship autopilot to your destination when you call it
Imo a city update should only come with a better exocraft/flying update, or a sentinel hive planet(Basically Cyberstan, the whole planet is a giant base and there would be more sentinel units), also something like a rating system for Multi Tools, Spaceships, Freighters and Exocraft for their "power" like Destiny with the Sentinels having their own would be nice, HG wouldnt need to change a thing about the current stats system
Talking more about the Sentinel Hive Planet, HG should just copy big games that are fun, no one would complain about it, no one complained about Pal World, the Sentinel Hive Planet would be a concrete jungle, with AA systems and would be the definitive place for combat, I will definitely try to popularize this idea, "liberating" it would take several days but the rewards should be big, you would be able to create bases on the planet and it would be the best planet for farms, and be rewarded something worth about 400m, liberating a sentinel hive planet would boost the systems economy and increase the conflict status
To everyone who says NMS current lore doesnt allow for that I say who cares about lore if something is cool, many explanations could be given to justify what I said here
Is it possible we might get wheels for starships one day so that we can land them like planes and taxi them around?
I think that would be cool
The reason we never got a city update is very simple -- It tanks performance on consoles and lower end PC's. The bigger and more buildings there are, the more the engine throws at systems. In the earlier days of the game, some high end PC builders built small cities and if a console player even went within visual range, they would crash.
Couldn't they make cities generate like terrain though?
If it's all static from existing procgen structure layouts generated from planet seed I would think that would significantly decrease the overhead
Cities as terrain feature (or something close to settlements) is very different from "city as elaborate player built structure", way fewer pieces needed
I guess that might still not be enough though, the game already has to do a lot of tricks with rendering distance in natural terrain and urban skylines make that a lot harder
Maybe they could start with stuff like orbital habitats and industrial space stations (separate from the main system stations)? No need to worry about terrain, can do full dungeonish style interlocking rooms of varying sizes so more leeway with rendering optimizations
And it would help keep par with why the ground settlement struggle so much, eg: ground based habitats that get too large/continually drain resources from the environment tick off the sentinels but setting up a large structure in space is fine
Thats why optimization exists, the current way NMS uses to load bases is way too hardware requiring and lets face it NMS was never that optimized, it loads everything near you without any type of Lod or culling at peak resolution even with textures on low, if HG figured that out it cities or sentinel planets would be the greatest updates NMS would have ever faced
I feel like what Hd2 did with their cities was perfect, they put a shit ton of buildings so the GPU can rest without loading a shit ton of ground textures and other elaborate stuff and buildings still visible far away are Lod ultra low quality
Also I havent played NMS in a while because of both Memory Leaks and Crashes, when I open the game it is running at 300fps+ and one hour ahead if I havent crashed yet Im playing at 20fps with massive input lag, tried playing the game on Vr last week and the moment I warped between system my game started lagging and it crashed, devs need to fix this
I wish we had matchmaking of some kind
lowkey a cowboy update could be cool. maybe with a lasso/grappling hook multitool attachment
What if there was a mini shop you could open like repairing incoming ships for resources etc ships arrive in space stations you exami e them then bargin a profit of resources?
not a single person from Hello Games ever reads this channel right
We dont know. They might lurk here from time to time.
Theres been indications in the past that HG employees and possibly even Sean himself occasionally look in here
that might explain the randomness
They might but they never post.
Can you imagine what people would do in here if there was confirmation that HG watches this channel? Nobody would ever get a moment of peace and quiet again
And they would come here to cry over and over about things they want like with ship customization
On the freighter as an extra hangar?
If i may add a new freighter option, i would propose (probably as many others already have) to have an exocraft basement where the player would work on all exocraft
Wdym with Matchmaking
I feel like VR really needs an overhaul
The controls are super janky and things like the hands dont really sync up to the controllers that well. Id also like things like finger tracking
Also Id love to see more physical mechanics for vr players. Let me turn dials and knobs and press buttons in the cockpit of my ship. Things like the door hatch for the corvette should be physically grabbable for example
Yeah they stay quiet for a reason.
A freighter update that adds a proper Corvette Hangar and maybe more on the bridge/fully customisable bridge+freighter base (this is coming from a switch 1 player who crashes his game to much)
There really are a few ideas that can come with a "freighter update", aren't there?
Wdym
(i changed the "issues" to "ideas") I meant that there have been several suggestions that could be implemented at a possible "freighter" update
Ooooohh what would you like to see in one?
Ok, let me give a small count....
How about...
- an exocraft bay - a basement where the player would access all exocraft, modify them and empty their inventories
- a starship repair workshop - a garage where the player would be able to perform a new job, the starship mechanic job and repair starships for some type of reward
- adding external weapons to the freighter that would allow it to participate in combats
- adding the option to upgrade the freighter
- adding a corvette construction bay
- adding a "collector's album" (see below) for both archived starships and multitools that add more aesthetics to the game
- adding a new mechanic that allows the player to send out starships within the system to gather resources from asteroids
- adding a new mechanic that allows the player to use the freighter in order to build a new space station at a system that doesn't have one
A hangar redesign would be nice...
Ships clip through the wall by the doors, the interior isn't big enough for some ships (not counting corvettes in this...)
speaking of freighters i would love an archived ship display hangar, like one of those big garages for fancy cars
It could be something like a "collector's album", where the player can see all archived starships the same way one sees planetary fauna
true
i was thinking walkable well lit hallway with ships lined up but i could settle for a 3d view interface lol
that would be nice too... you would be able to interact with them too this way
I don't think smaller freighters would realistically have a large enough interior space for all to be displayed but a bit more detailed screen to see the stats/layout would be nice.
Easy to forget what one looks like when it has been archived for a while.
Would it make sense to be able to work on the freighter by adding some sort of space shipyards?
Hard to say what they have planned, I don't know if they will let us be able to change the design much or not.
Still, it would be nice if we could, wouldn't it?
It could be a couple of weeks until the next update now, shouldn't it? (though, if they do go for a "freighter" upgrade, it should be part of a major update, maybe for the anniversary "festivities")
- Add bigger blackhole variation
- Add blackhole systems
- Make blackholes long term destructive, not short term.
- Add wormholes
- Make planets rotate
- Make the galactic line visible in space and on planets
- Make the night sky more vibrant by adding(nebulae, neighbouring galaxies out of the total 255, galactic line)
- make long term collisions between planets possible
- make meteor showers more extreme
please hellogames and sean make some of these updates possible, this game has alot more potential, and it is already doing good towards achieving that potential. so please listen to the fanbase and add these updates. thanks.
these are the blackhole ideas for the blackhole systems i have in mind. like this but add a no mans sky style to it?
Disorted gravitatial force in those systems and need special booster to travel to
so yes?
just adding ideas
u ever heard of... slingshot?
gravitational slingshot
ayyyyyyyy
🤝
🤝
we all doing this but know pretty darn well that there is a 0.00001% chance of them actually adding ts
Big slingshot would go crazy. Imagine flinging a Corvette towards a planet or something just for the fun of it
no like a gravitational assist slingshot, go to the blackhole, and time your movement correctly, it will give you a huge speedboost
I may be stupid
That would also be cool
I think freighters need an overhaul. Idk what that would entail but I feel like they're sort of an afterthought
we all sometime stupid
The freighter base system is a bit goofy in its current state. Collision issues everywhere and major pop-in on larger bases, although that could just be a me problem because of my PC lol
Also the rooms are alright but quite limiting. Some more base pieces would be nice, and perhaps an overhaul to the hanger and bridge now that corvettes are a thing
Corvettes especially need to be addressed. I'm not the biggest fan of their current freighter landing system
I guess that's a bigger issue than just freighters, all over the game we need better integration of Corvettes
The floating landing spots seem like a temporary solution to me
Why can’t I flight my freight 😭 it would be so fun
Okay that’s cool
Oh trust me I’d love that
i am BEGGING for Worlds part 3 😭 🙏
Worlds part 3 the caves update.
never happening 😔
I think some of the exocrafts need an update
Roamer especially, once you get the pilgrim it becomes obsolete, since the pilgrim is significantly faster and in my option better than the roamer, granted the roamer is meant to be the starter one but I still feel like it has potential
The roamer could gain some extra special items, like a winch & bull bar, or a station wagon conversion that increases storage.,.
Imagine if you could customize the roamer to look like it’s from Mad Max with like spikes and stuff
What would you think about adding an airship?
Ngl that would be peak
I burn a lot of launch fuel getting to places that are hours away but on the same planet so having a method of travel like that would be amazing
And maybe it could transport one of the exocraft, probably the pilgrim... Just like the exocraft in the movie Oblivion (that can carry a bike)
i think the roamer handles rougher terrain better with it's 4 wheels, the pilgrim tends to wobble around a lot for me
pilgrim is still goated though
all of the exocrafts need spiced up like the colossus though
I wonder... Would it make any sense for a starship to be able to transport a pilgrim?
Maybe use up a cargo slot or four...
Nautilon and the Minotaur are fine in my opinion, both have a purpose they’re needed for and do it well
Maybe more customization for the nautilon but the Minotaur is fine as is (maybe make it so once you’ve crafted the parts for hard frame or liquidator you can use them without using tech slots but even then it’s not that big of a deal)
The rest tho could use updates
Who doesn't love a tank
this please
"Make planets rotate"... well tbh, I hadn't yet noticed that they don't rotate... So used to the depiction of rotating planets in Stellaris that I took this as granted!!!
of all the updates that i mentioned, i expect this in the next 5 years
same from EVE Online lol
As for "make meteor showers more extreme", are you talking about terrain altering events, even the destruction of constructions or is it an aesthetics request?
@verbal knot
no like, make the meteors bigger, it's an aesthetics request.
Yes we need more destruction
I want to build military themed corvettes with Bomb bays
I want destruction events
And just like that we've breached the age rating guidelines.
I think HG avoids that for a reason. Nothing wrong with a higher age rating, but it does limits the potential audience reach.
Listen I really like Evangelion so I treat nms as the definitive sim but with the good parts of Eva left out
And what’s the age rating for nms
7+
I think 12+ as that’s the most lenient age rating as dragon ball xenoverse 2 is a 12 and has actual gore and the occasional bad word from vegeta
So I think to make lnf a good game they should include at least a bit of blood splatter when you hit a unarmed enemy
Like tons of kids play botw and TOTK they are 12+ games
I started playing twilight princess at 8 years old that game is the only 16+ Zelda in existence
It's PEGI 12, and Teen from ESRB
I don't buy the speculation that the age rating is the reason we have limited combat, plenty of games in the same age rating do more.
I mean, in NMS we can kill other players and they ragdoll, fighting NPCs would be the same
It's more of a design thing I think
Maybe bc nms goal never was to be a space war game
But space fantasy exploration game
Using the current game system as is, I wonder if the player could ameliorate the economy status of a system by improving a certain number of settlements (say 1 per planet/moon or 5 per system or anything really). The concept would be to take a settlement from its starting C status and improve it to ... (definitely not S as that would take even more time) maybe B to add one star to the economy, and maybe A to add two stars. It would be laborious I know, but it could be a nice goal to achieve!!!
This would require that the player can be mayor to more than 4 settlements... probably 8, maybe 12...
I know i was playing games that would have been rated as M when I was obviously younger than what it was intended for, but ratings have gotten tighter over the years and many are a lot more watchful of what the kids are playing.
Rating going up for something would lose potential sales.
i have a dream about a new kind of ship but i know so well it never gonna be added :p
Well if it’s already 12
Just add what we suggest
Cthulhu won’t bump up age ratings
So, what day of the week do mystery emojis usually start getting posted by Sean Murray?
How about adding exocraft bay to Freighters?
Where any owned exocraft can be refueled, or we can install modules/upgrades on them instead of landing on a planet first?
It can also be cool to see Exocraft getting deployed from freighters to planet via heat shielding and parachutes?
make exocraft worth using first
Tbh I played 12+ games when I was 8, Im a rule breaker
I know what will tho, gambling (this from a Trails fan, Sky 2nd is an 18+ purely for the gambling, Daybreak 2 has a nightclub scene, and it’s not 18+ (if it is, it isn’t for that, I remember reading it’s rating was unaffected by the scene)
Oh?
They are? Mainly the Pilgrim and Nautlion, but they are
Well, I think using Pilgrim to farm for storm crystals was really worth it, or using Nautilion super RADAR to find downed starships/freighters
Some of them are better than others, like the sub i don't know what id change right now, but I think the roamer could have a little bit of tweaks done.
I feel like freighters could be on the list, at least for this year... Not sure if they are next though.
I pray we get more components to build in freighters and Corvettes
More utility building in general
I agree with the utility building, for sure. Maybe introducing some new freighters???
That'd be cool
ALSO
It would be awesome if they made it so people who visit your freighter actually can see what you build instead of just halls and invisible walls
They did it for corvettes, they can do it for freighters.
That's my hope one day anyways
yes the submarine is the only exception, the rest i found not worth it
melee + jetpack is kin
Can't beat the OG
I played 12+ games when I was 5
So nms can add a bomb bay to corvette ships
And massive bomb manufacturing areas to freighters and a bomb bay module that replaces row 2 of the ship hanger
My mum would ban me from it for life if they did that (she still doesn’t know about the guns, I think)
Bombs included are
The good old reliable nuke
Base breaker
Black hole planet buster mk VIII
Gate of death sword rain
Nuclear cluster
Why would she
4 words:
Player Made Orbital Stations
you can't forget the deathstar
and the Hyper Relativistic Electron Beam
never happening :(
HAH THEN WHAT'S HAPPENING? ALL THE UPDATES I SUGGESTED AND PEOPLE SAY not happening
You need to calm down the enthusiasm a bit my guy.
As for what will happen...we will see soon enough. I don't expect anything super big until Summer though, but with HG you never really know
nobody knows whats happening, even the devs
ye lol fair enough
i apologize for any misrepresented anger you guys may have experienced from my messages
my prediction: the devs once again put the cart before the horse and push out some random nonsense content that only a fraction of the players will ever interact with
Now let‘s not get too pessimistic. I feel like they have a clearer vision in mind, especially with the 10th anniversary coming up.
While the garbage hauling appears to be a niche feature, I think it‘s part of a bigger undertaking to fill the game with more purpose and actual jobs to do; eventually culminating in giving us our own mini Eve within NMS.
Best case scenario: A full on rework of the faction and mission systems, changing the way we interact with factions and the role they play within the Universe in general, as well as breathing new life into the all over the place content by creating new missions (or overhauling older ones) which make better use of the systems we already have.
i will remain to be pessimistic, its been 10 years...
and yet the core features have barely improved
id rather have more Worlds type updates as well as a complete economy and traversal overhaul
id say space combat too but i gave up on that a long time ago
the Frigate update was definitely the right direction
but i dont really have a reason to build one except for bragging rights that i have a cool frigate
Some like remanent might be opening up more variety in space station and anomaly missions down the road, since it feels like those get repeated a lot.
Fishing wasn't that old of an update compared to how long the game has been out but has plenty of missions calling for it.
'The next update will arrive nethier early or late but precisely on time when you least expect it' that's my theory... lol
She doesn’t like games with guns, like Satisfactory, we we’r watching someone play it, they got the Rebar gun and she just turned off and stopped watching
I wouldn’t mind air to air missiles for space combat tbh
Rockets arnt really that useful except when you overheat
for some reason they are the only thing that does damage to players
for me atleast
lol
Jeez
Why
Because she doesn’t like fighting games (she hates me playing Xenoblade, Trails, Zelda and Pokémon, heck Im lucky i get to play Minecraft)
I take it you deliberately don't play the combat parts of NMS when she's looking?
Yikes, tho. My dad is super religious and policed everything I watched growing up. He thankfully lightened up and got less strict when I got to high school.
Honestly she doesn’t particularly look at my switches screen, but kinda sorta
just out of curiosity, how old are you?
Like, as a parent myself, thats something I might have done when my kids were <10
The secret is when kids go to sleep us parents just end up pinching the computer or Xbox for an hour or so to have a go at the 'latest game'
heh, the xbox is mine.....
the kids were allowed the privilege of playing on dads xbox
and it lives in the lounge on the big TV
The privileged meaning in trade for the sweets/cake they've hidden 🤣

You're a bit old for your mom to be saying what content you can play tbh
She has said I am of an age to make my own decisions, and then proceeds to guilt trip me when I make a decision
Like tjere’s a game of my sister’s I wanna play, and I enjoyed the test run i did, but my mum would kill me if I played it (The card game Shadowverse)
Just tell here your above the age rating and can make your own decisions on if you will play something or not
Advice from the king of heroes
Use it wisely

Agreed. I mean, I don't try to tell people how to parent. But saying Pokemon and Zelda are too violent for a 15 year old is pretty suss.
(Though this should probably be moved to off topic now... )
Ive got kids 8-14 and wouldn't be concerned about them playing this, certainly better than some other options.
In a pinch can set the frequency of combat down too on this, so although that might lock out certain things it would be fine for the majority of what you could do in game.
I play custom game mode, and I am trying to get an S-Class Pirate Dreadought sooooo
We have an off topic???????
Yes
Can you tell I don’t go to very many channels in servers
Oh
Your welcome
That would only come with a combat PvP update, plus save editing would take griefing to a whole other level and I think thats why HG wont release anything PvP related anytime soon
I’d like to propose a lightweight system that improves visibility of large player bases without requiring server changes or higher upload limits. When two friends play together in the same session, the visitor’s game could locally save the full state of the host’s base (object positions, terrain edits, wiring, etc.). Later, if the visitor returns while the host is offline, the game would load this cached version instead of the limited server upload.
This works like a small, local “friend‑only base mirror” and uses existing multiplayer synchronization and local storage. No persistent world, no server load, no changes to engine architecture — just better visibility for trusted friends and collaborative builders.
Data flow:
[Owner Client] → (multiplayer sync) → [Visitor Client]
[Visitor Client] → (serialize) → [Local Cache]
[Visitor Offline Visit] → (load cache) → [Full Base Render]
Request send. This can solve big issue this game have

i think in a terraformation gestion system with sell/buy planets to other players (own discovers)
Pirates! Yea as in Arg!! - Consider this... pirates are part of a breed that lack honor; even among themselves one would think the weakest would retaliate in some way.
So here is my suggestion: when we are attacking a pirate dreadnought and we subdue it and the ship surrenders, when we beam aboard or land in the landing bay, there should be a fight to get to the captain; I mean, the pirates men are fiercely loyal as long as they get paid right?!
That isn't all, why make it so easy to collect 6 million plus units?! Make it so when the player gets to the captain, the pirate captain offers thee same choices, but when a player demands a tribute and the pirate hands over its coffers, perhaps there should be an event that is triggered which makes all remaining guns (if not destroyed) focus in on the player ship and attack it.
Additionally the combat support ships are just for show, fix that! Make them earn their keep. For both player dreadnoughts and npc dreadnoughts. Guns on the freighter and those support ships should not only get in on the battle, but also do some damage! After all this is probably the most action a player sees in a game session so lets make it somewhat challenging and fun.
Consequently I also think Hello Games should add landing parties for enemies. Not just flight attacks. I feel like we are missing a lot not being able to engage in battle with NPCs on the planets surface. Sentinels are getting boring.
I would really like a combat overhaul. Also, pls make more items grabbable, I want to play around in my base with thingies apart from the sphere!
i dont really have a lot i would like to see but something to build with since exocrafts like the car and truck are a thing i am really missing a big garage door so i can have an enclosed buildings with my cars inside and dont need an open wall to drive in and out i think that would really add to building bases but thats just me also please make it scalable so you can make a small dor for the bike a big one for the truck and so on and so forth
I would really like to see the addition of joycon 2 mouse controls for the Switch 2 edition of NMS as its pretty hard to aim with the joysticks
Im honestly hoping they use remnants data from the expedition to give us a multi-player rework update
What do you mean by this? (I didn’t play the expo 😢)
The gravity gun should work on fauna, plants (02, sodium, pulpy roots, that type), small rocks, exocraft, be able to shove ships around a little bit, all those little ground containers like the barrels or health packs. Also fired items should do significant damage, like 500-800 dmg for like hitting a sentinel with another sentinel as an example
they had the entire expedition all on one planet, so multi-player was getting a serious work out
So, stands to reason they might have been putting multi-player under constant strain to see where its been breaking down so they can bolster it.
It will happen hg just need to make save editing harder
This game has such a potential for cinematic PvP, the vehicular combat of Halo 3, the space and aerial combat of Dcs or War Thunder, the on foot combat of Halo 2, all of these would make this game freaking epic and an once in a lifetime type of entertainment
Also more sentinel combat, like a sentinel planet, imagine planning an entire operation with your friends just to take down a base on a sentinel dominated planet, with air support and stuff controlled by one of your friends, having AA guns that limit the air support capability, actually cap your stats and revamp the difficulty menu by not having every single aspect of the game being selectable with actual difficulties like creative, easy, normal and permadeath so multiplayer isnt messed up, highlight anyone without PvP enabled, Helldivers like stuff.
Or those creatures that spawn out of eggs, they should have their own Hive Planet if sentinels get them
(Also, the stat system is just ass, they should do something like Destiny, with a cap at like 100 or 50, regardless of class)
The only problem with these kinds of updates is that griefing would take over instantly, NMS is composed of an ultra casual audience and if you doubt that just join any voice call in this server or any other server and you will see, griefing in NMS has reached a point in the past of griefers warping into a system, instantly getting to you with their overpowered ships, spamming the shotgun from the ship from orbit and killing you in the process, some kind of obfuscation would certainly be needed and capping stats too
they should have, like, golf-kart type things that multiple players can ride around in, or make it so that people can hang onto the Colossus
ALSO PLEASE MAKE HALF-TALL VETTE BLOCKS AND HALF-MOVEMENTS PLEASEEE
The sentinel idea is amazing
I need that
I feel so lonely
Killing things by myself
Well, how about adding a base/freighter component that allows for corvette construction?
Also, how about adding a large freighter room that allows for an exocraft summon?
How about a corvette piece that drops exocraft when you summon the corvette
Also, how about adding an aerial Exocraft 10x faster than the spaceship but it cant go to orbit
Something like an Airship or a Zeppelin?
Like a Jet, a Zeppelin would be fun to fly though, like a planetary freighter
A jet would be too much like a fighter-starship, a helicopter-ish maybe? Something like a Chinook?
I dont think you understand, the usual spaceship goes at 1000 units whilst on upper atmosphere, a jet exocraft would go at 5000 or more, with wayyyy better atmospheric combat than the space ship, a helicopter is cool too
I was thinking more on the aesthetic side of the issue... Picking up a jet design as a basis for NMS, I would think of something like the AV-8B Harrier, the F35B or the Yak-141 (in that other more "ordinary" aircraft might require runways...)
Not quite, see what Gta V did with Jets, they do need a runway but it is tiny
Oo
imagine a scrap tier of starship that looks like a bunch of parts and capsules from cold-war era spacecraft frankensteined together
I just noticed the Adventure Time/Curtain - Server icon animation
But what does this mean? O.o
It's April 1st.
Who knows.
kinda like an ||Autophage|| class?
YES YES YES YES YES VICTORYYYY
Like take inspiration from the Roblox game starbasis
for me, it would be have system based on aleas to replayed the expedition that we probably missed, during one period of 1 month, and all month you can replayed one expedition but alea
what if they added railways with trains for physically connecting player bases & npc outposts
:3
boutta turn NMS into Satisfactory
if they did that they'd have to fix the whole pop-in/pop-out of entire bases at certain distances thing and that would be really dope for the engine. Probably make LNF better too.
And npc bus frigates from planets to space station
i found a certain issue while building a corvette and id like to suggest an qol change, copy what crossout did while building and let us highlight all attachment points that are available for the pice we are holding, so hold control z for example and it'd highlight all of the circles/attachment points that are on the surface
Submit your feedback to HG through their Zendesk, they usually dont read them though, they say they read but Im 99% sure they dont
What makes you so sure
Imo they read but probably most bug reports is buried under "i want" and " pls add this and that" tickets
I have sent uncountable tickets with uncountable reasons multiple times with glitches and stuff and they only get patched when some big streamer finds it
What no mans sky needs to be the PERFECT space game
- Better multiplayer: Bases not rendering, limited bases, etc. The multiplayer is barely functional
- Revised combat system: It feels like im shooting a water gun in game, give me some real power like helldivers
- Fix orbital planet textures: The planets dont feel like planets, something like how they look in elite dangerous would boost it so much
We should be able to turn an Abandoned Station into a player-owned one using an AtlasPass v3, a Station Override, and 1500 Chromatic Metal, would be awesome. With base building options for things like Trading Specialists(Multi-Tool, Exocraft, etc.), Decorations, Walkways, and Technology (such as teleport pads, landing pads, corvette stations, trade terminals, maybe even new buildings such as how there are freighter-exclusive builds). I imagine it working like a combination of a Settlement and a Base. You would have station upkeep and hired workers, and each employee having a minimum and maximum Reputation (Scrap Dealer requiring a low rep, Mission Agent requiring high rep, and Contraband Agent requiring negative rep, for example). Thoughts?
amazing idea, the only thing is then people wouldn't be able to use abandoned stations for their original purpose
wait they have a PURPOSE?
only the planet textures might get fixed
yeah, their used for a lot of quests
i guess they could have a "Damaged Station" that is for player-builds instead then
yeah, or just make it similar to settlements
I imagine it working like a combination of a Settlement and a Base
Already my idea
yeah
honestly with how mod-friendly the game is, it is potentially possible to make a mod that uses its own server to just add the feature for anyone with the mod (obviously it would only show up for people with the mod, but i could, if i learn modding, maybe make this a thing)
I would rather them spend time improving the stations we already have. There's all those closed-off extra rooms that they haven't done anything with. I'd love to have much bigger, procedurally generated areas to explore on stations
So...what's the likelihood of an update next week?
Low
Ok so what they should do is make it so you can have more then 4 people in a group and you can set it to how many people you want yo have in your lobby maybe you want 2 people in your lobby only or maybe you want 3 or 4 or 5 like how most games are there should be other stuff they should add as well like maybe customizing freighters like how you can customize starships I don't know
So it looks like Sean Murray's twitter account has just breached the 1M line. Wouldn't it be nice if it was celebrated with a new emoji announcement?
I wonder if sean considers that releasing an update this week will steal the thunder from starfield playstation release
Wouldn‘t be beyond him, personally I think he has a soft spot for Todd and SF. The Voyagers update had a lot of references to Starfield; from the Corvette in the cover art which looks suspiciously inspired by the Frontier, to the new space suits.
I just think some normal ahh weather would be nice
I wanna experience a nice rain/thunderstorm that isn't 1 billion degrees kelvin
The Experience :
Storm starts *
u died.
But yeah ..more extreme planets would be cool . Something that even endgame players would have a challenge to survive on.
And Twitter rings, Sean Murray has posted something...
Rush to check the post...
It's a repost from an online magazine's review of NMS...
Was fun for those 10 seconds it lasted 😂
We need an exotic/royal corvette parts set
From tinted, bubbly windows, to swept, towering wings, to rounded linkage and fuselage segments
Yeah, combat in specific needs a rework, from flight to ground/exocraft combat, Imo just copy Halo 3 and Helldivers 2, and for flight you can have the realistic approach(DCS, Star Citizen) or the Arcade approach(Halo Reach Sabre/Seraph)
Also, the idea of a multitool is just too convenient, they should only be for mining, with actual weapons that take of weapon slots
If you go up a little I think i made this exact point https://discordapp.com/channels/146101654981312513/776758962380079114/1488269468223406184
Multiplayer is shit because No Man's Sky instead of using peer2peer connection to load bases quickly between what the clients have they try to use their own slow servers, also optimization is shit so depending on your base complexity the game will reach a limit and wont load anything new
Orbital Planet Textures arent the biggest problem, the big problem is the piss colored skybox when you are on space, in some systems yeah sure, but only as you get closer and closer to the galactic centre, not every system should look like they are in the middle of a galactic piss contest
Would like an update which is based on biological horrors and expand its role in the game for the question: Who made those things? Are they really natural or did someone once created them in a lab. I feel like in abandoned buildings i just kill the things and that's it?
guys hear me out, they should add custom droid companions. they can help you with random stuff, mine resources, fly your ship, etc, and maybe have a good enough ai system that they can actually like respond in real time
im not going to lie, I would seriously enjoy a system like that for companions.
im not going to lie, I would seriously enjoy a system like that for companions.
But we already have the mostly cosmetic sentinel, how would it coexist with with an R2 droid?
i definitely reckon a combat rework could be cool, i feel like on ground combat needs more work than ship combat tho
yeah I think giving on the ground combat a bit of an overhaul would benefit the game
honestly at this point i just want light no fire
i think they'll make us wait until nms 10 year anniversary tho
I doubt it will release this year but new trailer would be nice.
Sean, PLEASE hear my plea.
Add the ability to make our own space stations. Everything's in place, you just need to make it happen.
They should work like bases pretty much but should also have exclusive parts to them.
In order to place a space station base computer or smh similar, it needs to be a considerable distance from existing space stations in order to not be a blockade for the normal one or others. We should also be able to report them just like the bases but also an option to just remove them from our game without reporting.
I'm begging.
Something a bit smaller but please give us side corvette doors/ramps, I don’t want to have to do weird glitch building just to have a ramp on the side of my corvette, it would open up a world of creativity, also can we please get an inverted windshield ___/ <— like that please!
Idea: a Tidal Jovian. Gas giant with 3000 Celsius daytime temperatures and -200 Celsius nighttime temperatures.
My record is -177 and it was still less cold hazard than on derelict freighter.
we could have young planets with lava flowing everywhere and islands of rock inbetween that would reach enormous temperatures
another possible alleyway are broken/shattered planets
like planets shattered by huge collisions or gravitational anomalies where you'd have separate pieces or one huge hole/crater on one side from a planetary collision
There is a lot of ways that could improve planets hazards. Hazard Scaling balancing would be the easyest to do
yeah do those modules even go down faster the more extreme the temperature is
haven't noticed a big difference
or they could make the critters on the planets more hostile/predatory overall and add a bigger punch to some of them
Ive been wondering that too, have 3 for hot/cold, and 2 toxic/radioactive (think ill see if I have 1 more each for those...)
Don't need to recharge hazard protection just the other ones.
I hope we'll get more expedition reduxes
Making more content is understandably time consuming. Hitting replay on old expeditions will give the community something to do in the meantime
whats your predictions guys? whens the patch?
Mid-late april
yay april
Its a blind guess
Unless enough people complain enough to have some or some sort of content to add to the game they might just do somthing.....
Mouse and keyboard control schemes for console versions 🙏🏻
would be fire ngl
I have been wanting this for ages
EVERYBODY's been wanting this for ages
And are we the only two continuously suggesting it
I think so
🤝
We can’t send gifs but I have a one piece one for this exact reason
Now the question is will we ever get a doom collab
Literally 1984 🥀 aka england
Where’s drivable freighters or better space combat while we’re at it
I dont see atm reason to own or make a space station. It would end up being abandoned like settlements. Imo HG needs first add some game loops around that feature and add features to existing space stations.
🏟️
Thinking in LNF terms... Colosseum can be translated to Jousting... So, Animal companion overhaul?
on a similar note, i would LOVE an update to NPC space stations. i started playing february and was so dissapointed with much space there was and how little of it was used. add in more random shops or some sort of little apartment complex or something to make the stations a little more recreational or smth
yeah, there should be something in all that unused space
that's probably the plan but HG are taking their time with it
Interesting to see all the ideas for what this update could be, but not sure how much I'd overthink it.
Probably something more simple like a multiplayer update or even construction/base building.
PvP has never really been a thing, don't see why that would get added now. Just got an update for an exocraft.
It might be an idea for HG to do community polls occasionally, just to get a feel for which areas of development should receive more attention
pvp is technically a thing but everyone knows that this is an exploration game, and everyone who plays it is just chill
an unexplored alley in the game would be to have super-extreme planets where you wouldn't be able to land without dying and you'd have to send probes to them from space to explore them and collect whatever you need
this should totally exist and be realistic, the other thing is that not all liquid on planets should be water, there should be liquid methane planets and what not like Saturn's moon Titan that would have unique forms of life
in terms of what could be done with planets they've scratched only the very surface
🏟️… here come cities and multiplayer overhaul… fits in LNF development as well 😉
We dont know. Emoji can be just related to update name.
I don't know how a stadium = cities. Then again Bacon = beacon = villages made no sense 😂
😂 true… well an arena or colosseum is an indicator, a grandeur for great cities
I think the developers should expand on dead planets, such as adding dead variants of all temperatures (freezing, cold, temperate, desert-like, scorching), and perhaps give them unique geological features that would be absent on planets with life
Dead planets are that way due to inactive or unstable cores, Im pretty sure
They'd look... well, boring
Imagine someday Sean tweets 5 emojis in a row and everyone at HG just watches the fanbase lose their minds.
Just wait until cowboy
The game is already on sale at
! So, the update is due THIS Wednesday after all... Must be a pretty minor one i guess
Somebody speculated a Colosseum -> Rome -> Roamer update, and though the Nomad and the Pilgrim could definitely do with some love, i guess a Roamer update wouldn't be bad after all...
Olimpic stadium - olimpic brazer - light no fire
i too can play that game Lol
It's all we can do for the time being, isn't it?
If they are listening “add a black space option in settings!!”
Numbing question that's bugging me how much more can nms really add for content? to say ok game is now open source workshops added fully loade, modders can have a free speech of adding the final salt and pepper of mods that's will continue nms legacy.
I still think there is a limit that only so much can be really be done, nms has a story that's built of your own decisions but it quickly dismisses as your own mind to make up what happens next after doing main storyline hence like it becomes a franchise etc (you'll see where I'm going here)
Colosseum = colossus = remnants expedition part 2
colosseum = pvp/combat update?
If theres pvp update there better be full M&KB controls added to console, aiming with joysticks is awful
Is this the channel where I can suggest things or at least toss around questions or ideas?
My guess for this update, going back to my old predictions, is that this will be the next Exocraft update. Maybe roamer or/and the Pilgrim? New customisations for both and new base parts for race track parts, and mebbe skate park style parts too?
Not sure what the non-building content would be other than maybe custom race courses generated? I wouldn't be surprised if we see ring-based spaceship race tracks too.
Everyone is focused on the fact its a stadium, but its specifically a sports stadium, and I think it'll allude to the update name more than content, and I think it's a catch all name for some kind of 'here's some build tools to make game logics in your builds, like score counters, etc.'
If they do an update like that tho, they definitely need to improve the latency between players, because otherwise 2-3 second delay will make any kind of game u invent unfair and unfun.
Bit of a stretch but could it be "next stage" meaning more added to storyline?
tbf the last emoji had no relation to the name and everything to do with the content.
But last one was to do with what we would wear as a waste disposal job. I think this one still is sport/games related.
Oooh if its my racing track idea, what if each of the expedition rendesvouz is a HG made race track and it'll have ranked listings for all the players for best times.
Or it adds a new POI that is a giant blank-slate stadium you can claim like a settlement, build a mini-game inside of, and the LNF 'testing' feature would be some kind of community base browser update to the existing one with search and rating features.
And the expedition's rendesvous would be some HG made examples, with the expedition milestones being things that get u to set up logic gates, etc and tutorialise all the features.
planet specific pois would be cool (more eroded on a toxic planet and depending on toxicity depends how erodee etc), idk if this is the right place to discuss
Yall think we could see a story expansion in the future where we could possibly save Artemis/Apollo in some way if we got them killed during our playthrough?
Since a stadium is where people watch things, my guess is that it is related to sentinels (the watchers).
ooh this makes sense too
I suppose the other thing people have always gone on about, and wouldn't be too out of the realms of possibility for an update with an 'arena' motif, is laser swords, or some sort've melee weapon lifted from their work on LNF.
Many things are possible, the emoji is purposefully vague. And whatever mechanics they might add can be related to the story in some sense, I'm just hoping they continue to build on the story elements they've added previously. 😁
they could have used 🎭 tho?
They usually aren't that specific, and depends if it is a word play or not.
I still don't understand bacon = beacon = settlements? what is the relation between beacon and settlements loll
Bacon even less so but they come up with the names first and then the emoji, while we start guessing the content based on the emoji itself.
Don‘t you like get a notification/signal from the Autophage in your first regular settlement? I figured it was just about that.
that seems so minor 🤣
Yeah ig so…but there‘s not much else to apply the word to
I think it is some sort of emergency beacon.
Back then I was thinking it would be the POI Update cuz of signal beacon
That works too yeah
for what though? it still seems like it was an arbitrary name choice imo 🤔
If I remember right the first settlement you ever encounter is marked by a quest that starts with a message from some sort of beacon.
it still seems like a stretch, like we get a beacon for a lot of things, including the very start of the game where we need to find our ship.
I'm sure they could have called it something else but they might want to hold some names/emojis back for later content, and it had something to do with a beacon so they went with it.
Agreed with this hard
I’m personally holding out for this update to be a mode update where we can put game modes in our bases, like the Exo craft race creator. Maybe it’s an arena/stadium because we will be able to turn our bases in game modes like Capture the flag, races, free for all and such. It would go hard
perhaps 🏘️ would have been a better choice
there are still 3 other house emojis if they wanted to use
I guess HG gets a fun kick out of people trying to guess the update lol
is there a list somewhere of all the updates and all the emojis that were posted before them?
I'd like to see what the patterns were
Different biomes on the same planet maybe?
In long term it would just make u see everything faster in the end shortening your game time.
bring back old style timber walls and allow timber walls for corvette interiors
id love to make the interior of my corvette look like a 70s-80s interior with wood panelling, shag carpet and older style furniture

At last, a NMS colloseum where we put pathetic interlopers to fight to the death
I would like to get legacy base parts bc i didint unlocked them all
This is what I predict too
I think it would help if there was some base browser to share/rate/etc these minigame bases. But the game also needs better protections against griefing because featured bases get ruined by griefers.
i hope its something a bit more substantial than just having minigames
I would've loved such an update if I had someone else who would play the game modes with me
So the update is...basically Pokémon? (But legally distinct)
fingers crossed for the next one to fix some of the multiplayer janky-ness... I wanna play with my friends, but it's hard when like... weather doesn't line up amongst other things
Oh my… how disappointing this 🏟️ update - just not my thing, no offence
yes, some of the abilities have the exact same name as actual Pokemon moves
There should be a performance/quality/balanced mode (60/30/40 fps mode) on switch 2 because just turning off the frame cap doesn't really help
No expedition this time?
I wish we could feed the existing catalogue of foods to companions that boost specific stats during arena battle
Btw. Were got special attack's of pet's. Why we don't get thet type of diffrent attack's/palete's on apex predator's?
Like were have fauna. Why they are not shoting spore's or generate shield's
They already have animation's and model's
Make some dmg cap and more complicated movement pallete and we can have good procedural enemies
Ive never had a problem with that.
I'm kinda jealous... went to my fiance's base and saw a storm he'd never experienced... and still hasn't
Yeah, this update is wild to me. They could have rebuilt the ecosystems with this wide array of creature attacks. In fact I requested that kind of thing years ago. But instead we get Pokemon. It's like they just want to ignore the actual central gameplay now. It's so painful to see these kind of improvements locked away into a mode I will never play.
Right the xeno battles should be in the actual world to feel more dramatic and convincing and not on a seperate table with downscaled pets. It feels so detached from the rest of the game world.
while I totally agree the core gameplay systems need a lot more love, I don't think this update's pokemon style creature battling makes much sense being anywhere other than like a mini-game inside space stations
I don't say about making battle's in like pokemon style.
I tell about new attack palletes
Think about it. What if existing apex can shot laser? Heal? Shot toxic spores
yeah, if they have these abilities in a fighting arena, they should also have them on the worlds they exist in. that would provide a lot more on-the-ground combat diversity
yeah for sure I agree they could totally add elements of it to the core game for more combat variety, I was just responding to the message above mine
I think this, dmg cap, size scaling and some type of diffrent type's of apex count is something this game need's
One like tigger or pack like wolf
Also some time ago I have two other systems in head that need's a rework.
New sentinel type's
(other tech) deepends on star system.
Same with parasites
Also I think extreme enviroment like gas giant or deep ocean word's can have procedural beast
Rare
Still
Mass aoe
High shell
For me on some of gas giant collosal giant worm's are not bad idea
My dream for deeper combat systems would be like specific star systems that host dangerous PVPve crucible events, maybe with some larger scale faction based progression involved, like levelling up your PVP faction to unlock higher grade rewards and items to buy
The risk element could be having to put nanites towards entering one of these star systems and when you die you have to spend more to get back in, and also having some damaged technologies to repair
The events themselves could be something like defending a space station from waves of attackers, maybe some kind of interplanetary capture the flag, or just straight up deathmatches with environmental hazards
This have 3 part's
I made request with most of things. I don't have before idea about procedural enemies and how to make them
Rn we got unique attack's in pokemon table
This what's I write+this is really a good solution without making everyone game harder
Sean: "We have this whole universe filled with an infinite variety of creatures ... but what if all that variety had a gameplay purpose?"
Yeah Sean...the gameplay purpose to the creatures is fighting them and fighting each other on the planets. You could have just...improved that
For a proper creature combat they need to fix fauna spawning tech.they need to add multiple fauna habitat pois which are again bound to specific regions in a planet. So they can be only found in these regions or pois. This way we naturally explore and discover creatures sometimes they can be huge boss fauna or group of small fauna . At the moment most of the fauna are spread randomly spawned around player which is pretty unrealistic also will get annoying if the fauna are aggressive as we will be fighting fauna endlessly instead of discovering them as we explore.
Hmm just wondered does terrain regeneration really needed for NMS?
It's so your save file doesn't take up all the space on your device by remembering every single mineral deposit you've ever mined
Thats how the game is coded
this is a problem minecraft servers have
if everyone splits off into a persistant world in distant directions and generates a bunch of persistant landmass, the file size can bloat severely
NMS has no need for that sort of persistance outside of static bases, and it'd be absolute folly to try
also, in NMS its quite easy to destroy minerals and flora while driving around on the ground, and it'd be a real shame to destroy your resources for no gain if there was a limited amount per planet.
We need to get buildable arena tables. Imagine if we can scale glitch one and build a life-sized arena on top...
i fucking called it, mfs added pokemon 😭
Eve? You mean we're WALL-E now? 😂
I'm really curious now to think what small and lacking content they are targeting to update next? Since Relics it feels what they've tried to do is target some half baked activity and tried to give it more substance. So now looking at what little or forgotten features are buried in the game is probably the best way to predict whats on the horizon.
I would still say the racetrack mechanics buried in the game are going to get a refresh before long, especially as other exocraft now need their own customisation to match the colossus.
They have revisited Trade and economies a couple of times inside of other updates, but I would really like them to take a serious look at this component.
Freighter rework we know are coming, so I think space battles and in-depth Freighter customisation are very likely.
they've updated the interiors, I think the freighter update will focus on exteriors, especially as @shadow dagger noticed how assets look like upscaled freighter exterior components.
More and more I think freighters will be the anniversary update too. I think we will actually see them moving using the corvette tech too.
And if they rework them, I think we can assume they will have dedicated corvette landing pads inside as well.
(actually reworking existing content probably started with Orbit come to think of it)
Orbital - Station Rework.
WP1&2 - Planet and Terrain Rework.
Relics - Palaeontology Rework.
Beacon - Settlements Rework.
Voyagers - Ship Rework? (Stretching it a bit.)
Xeno Arena - Companions Rework.
Things they could/should update:
Space Anomalies/POIs -
Planetary POIs -
Crashed Freighters -
Freighter Derelicts -
Race track Mechanics -
Exocraft customisation -
Freighter Mechanics/Customisation -
Trade gameplay and economies -
The impact of economy and conflict ratings -
derelict freighter update + terraforming when
Crashed and derelict freighters should have been updated in Remnant
Maybe some of the panels and crates and stuff could be picked up, brought on to a colossus (or new idea: corvette with a certain technology), and scrapped like the planetary scrap piles
This I was wondering... they need to add a feature for crashed ships or friegters and have some sort of event like this:
A emergancy message pops up saying a doomed freighter is about to crash into the planet your on and you can see it crashing nearby (like those meteorite strikes)
Then you investigate it collecting rare scrap or valuable treasures that the cargos is holding (imagine what the hole would look like if the ship crashed into a huge terrain change) you could fight off creatures that appear from the crashed ship/frieigter
I suppose they could do all the freighter stuff in one update.
Now they could decide to add new content in a bigger update later this year as well, possibly even the next one. If the next one is June/July they might choose that for the anniversary otherwise would be closer to September.
or maybe save it from crashing if you get there in a certain amount of time
YES I GOT FAMILIAR ROLE LETS GO
I know it'll kill a lot of PCs but it would be super cool to have planets rising and setting
Instead of being fixed in the sky
And eclipses
Since there's still sunlight if your star's being blocked by a planet/moon
actually they tried, apparently play testers complained since the planets were always moving, they often felt disoriented and lost. Making the planets stay still is a gameplay choice, not a hardware one
I think the stars revolve around the fixed planets don't they? and they made it part of the lore about the Atlas being a faulty simulation?
I'd love to seed a world with my pets. Let 'em run loose and multiply. Introducing a genetically modified egg to your planet could, in time, trigger more variations of the animals you initially put on the planet. Effectively letting you control the gene pool of all fauna on the planet. We essentially have Pokémon now in NMS, but what I really want is Jurassic Park in NMS! Be the John Hammond of my planet! 🙃
Maybe this is only me. Still I don't like making colossal archives that common. What's your opinion about this guys?
I just think they are underutilized. HG has this tendency to build giant structures and then only use like 5% of the space. Like, they look cool, but functionally they don't provide much that's unique
I lowkey see this that way.
Making science/data base high advanced monolith on most of planet's doesn't make any sense
Especialy without even one ground city
Trade centre's are more logical pick
In that term
me too, editing a planet's ecosystem would be nice. One time I found a rlly beautiful jungle planet but I didnt live there because it was full of flying fart-propelled fartfish that flew through the air XD
a string of sentences never before uttered in human history 😂
I feel like the archives and trade outposts could be combined into a single POI. My beef with archives is that they're as flashy and lively as I think trading posts should be.
Trading outposts feel barren in comparison.
as an “end game” player i would really like a bunnnch of new items and new recipes to strive for, and more ways to display all my things :p
also (ideally) multiple biomes per planet would be nice
I have in mind very smart thing
Wht sentinel's doesn't adapt to player and his tech?
They have data. They have resources
This even make sense in lore.
Problematic guy. More resources to take him down
There's a workaround for that. If you set your combat strength to low, they won't hit as hard as they do in a normal difficulty
Ah, I see what you mean. I mean. The only thing that could be done is to increase the amount of Sentinels you may encounter as you progress through the waves, with the possibility of the final wave being a constant onslaught of them with a couple walkers at the end instead.
Sending the same technology knowing it's going to waste doesn't make sense. The Atlas is an advanced unit. I was more interested in other weapon types. Greater armor. Adapting your strategy, for example, to your multitool
The weapons could use a rework or an overhaul. I've been using a pulse splitter for combat for a while now. Maybe have more types that can suit to your playing style.
Yeah. I also use mainly pulse splitter.
It's be fun if sentinel's adapt to our data
In example
New armor type especialy for what you use
And if they write the behaviour like you use pulse splitter
They be adapting
More distance
Becase splitter is ineffective on long distances
Yeah, and armor could be something for a player too they can add. So if you have something strong, they can use something that can pierce through that armor easier.
Instead of something cosmetic.
yeah in my opinion Trading posts need a serious rework in terms of structure and other activities at them
Interesting
But eclipses tho..
I mean who remembers planetary locations in nms.the issue makes sense only if the game is based on a single star system.but an average player travels hundreds of star systems. We just see the planet and pulse.now we have planetary markers and autopilot this is hardly an issue anymore.
This was way back in 2016 so maybe now they can revisit the idea
It’s probably unrealistic to want this, but an increase in players per instance would be neat. There’s whole civilisations in NMS, and yet sometimes one half of the people online in an area can’t see the other. It would make sense, with the past 2 updates being so focused on multiplayer fun.
so at this rate, we have pokemon battling.
what do ya'll think are the odds of them adding an RTS-esq control system to frigates for freighter battles?
you got your frigates, your freighter weapons, your squadron, add in systems to boost these aspects like being able to employ a crew with skills to benefit certain playstyles and you'd be able to make an interesting pseudo RTS.
rock paper scissors and all that. Fighters work well on frigates, Frigates work well on Freighters, Freighters will melt Fighters.
mainly unless a player is piloting one like with the dreadnaughts
but thats also to specifically cripple it rather than outright destroy it
at this stage everything is possible tbh lol
Oh then gimme roadcraft style settlement building and upgrade. meaning we run colousus to nearby resource depots to get settlement upgrade components
it'd be nice if you could place plants & rocks native to your planet in your base as props
we really need the holo-arena as a blueprint. the sole reason this should've been added the way it is would be to add it to our corvette in a star wars fashion.
That would be nice, and a freighter option would be nice as well... Plenty of crewmembers to face/off against there
Genius. And if such data is kept, to make their team composed of the creatures in the same system you found them, or even assign them one!
So I went and posted a suggestion at the HG site... This is what I wrote:
"Well, there are plenty of crewmembers on board a freighter. How about adding a Xeno Arena room that allows the player to face off against the crew?
For extra points, a small questline would then initiate asking the player to recruit an Arena trainer specialist. That trainer would then use an array of companions taken from the system the freighter is located at the time of the match."
The way NMS is today almost any update would be welcomed with open arms, even niche things such as this
Although Id prefer if the game dialed the convenience a little and tuned the realism up a bit
Like the skybox, it is ugly as shit both in Space and Atmosphere, or the way you summon ships or Exocraft, they literally TP in front of you, the planet scanning on the Freigther, a bunch of QOL Feature Updates that could come to the game
Summoning a Starship should make it travel to you and land near you with the autopilot introduced in the new corvette update, Exocraft depends, if it is near you it should drive directly to you, and if it isnt it should be either picked by your corvette and brought to you with a corvette exocraft grabbing piece or just literally dropped out of your freigther, otherwise, you shouldnt be able to get your Exocraft without those pads for it to materialize
Skybox feels like colored piss in both surface and space, a cool system would be for the skybox getting brighter and brighter and more colorful as you get to the galactic centre, and darker and darker with almost no color when far away
Making the planet scan with that thing on the freighter depend on your frigates to move themselves near the planets, all simultaneously would be pure immersion instead of holding a button and "discovering" the planets in the system
Also, I know all the problems with precision float, but making the star system an actual system would be cool as heck, with hotter planets near the star and cold planets far away, and you being able to go near the star and dogfight there or whatever, also the dogfighting in NMS is dogshit, air dynamics are bad, theres this Ship Hold S Aimbot that only serves to bring difficulty down and the massive shithole that is the stat system
when you find a really cool spot but the sky is sulfur-piss colored :<
i agree with the skybox color depending on your position in the galaxy
makes it feel more like the star systems are sharing a space together instead of existing in their own dimensions too
realistic star systems would be cool too tho idk if that would require another reset and id rather not have everyones lose their beautiful planets again XD
Hey, so there are two more things i'd love to see in this game and then basically everything i ever wanted is in 😄 i always wanted either a jetpack rework, or some sort of endgame jetpack upgrade that lets you fly around like iron man, i always had anthem's flight system in mind, it would make exploration really cool and you would not have to rely on punching to get momentum, the second thing that i think would really fit the game is terraforming, take a toxic or an airless planet for instance, maybe have a terraforming hub as a placable building which you can build workstations in, that monitor atmospheric pressure, temp, toxicity, and by doing certain actions, like clearing waste, releasing gases, or placing reflective pads would slowly make the atmosphere breathable, then the fun stuff, what if you could gene splice your own fauna and flora based on previous database entries, imagine spore's creature creator, you make plants and animals that form a food chain and you could slowly release your prototype plants and animals and see how they thrive and reproduce.
honestly, i loove worldbuilding and all, i like taking my time to name my planets and stuff, it would be so awesome to be able to attach some notes to systems, planets and their contents,.,,.
the general catalog of things needs some work tbh, being able to hide the interface and screenshot creatures and rotate them around freely would be nice, see and catalog their gender variants
The 3 Things I want most before NMS is no longer updated and supported
- Better Modding Support, I think it would be nice to give the community the tools needed to make full blown updates and whatnot to the game, and making it easier to both make and install mods
- Space Building. I love corvettes but it would be cool to make an asteroid base or even be able to modify your own space station
- NPC crews for bases and a more in-depth base system. I think it would be cool to have the ability to recurit npcs to help manage stuff at your base and as well help manage the base from certain things (like if a base is built underwater, they can make sure no leaks happen in the base so it doesn't flood) and having bases SLOWLY degrade overtime (with the option to disable it either as a difficulty setting or in the base computer), it would feel nice to see some npcs wandering around my bases making sure everything is in top shape.
The solution to this is clear: A feature to change the skybox color.
Maybe it's a giant monolith you can interact with out in the world, like a portal, and what elements you feed it influence what color the sky becomes.
Or maybe it's just a base builderable, or freighter feature, for atmosphere seeding or whatever.
(In practical terms, you'd probably want to max it out to pure white or pure black, and then when starting from an absolute baseline adjust to fit your exact preferences, rather then guess from whatever natural colors happen to be there... Unless you like the imperfections, which, valid.)
I absolutely love the pokemon update. I would love to be able to adopt water and sky animals as well!

love it too but i need more pet storage, something like the boxes from pokemon would be awesome... im already at the limit again and i dont know what to delete
Your best bet is to induce 2 eggs of all the ones you actually like, then delete them.
they need to make a toggle for pitch black space
it would be epic if we could feed our pets some roids to boost their ranks, i found a cool blob but its low rank so i cant invest into it cuz he will be smashed by the champion 😩
Or maybe make them grow from fights like frigates?
Theres also an upper limit for how many companion eggs you can have across all your inventories
Do you know what that limit is by chance? I had close to 50 eggs at one point with no issues
Hmm, while that is good to hear, it also means I have no idea what the limit is
Lol, only one way to find out I guess
another thing NOTpokemon wise, 12345 to use abilities and maybe click/hold space to skip the in-between pauses. Im 150ish fights in and while im still having fun i can feel the pauses getting to me
Just like pokemon!
lol
I'd like to see icy planets with subsurface oceans with geysers.
yes, and glaciers. they've never done an actual ice world biome that one can find in our own solar system, they just look like Scandanavian forests
wouldn't all this just be a Worlds Part III meaning terrain resets?
I'd like to see a means of searching/filtering through planets, flora and fauna I've discovered
Especially with the pokemon xeno arena update. Being able to look through previously scanned creatures would be helpful
I would want a Worlds Part 3 to be about space, or just a general POI Overhaul. More structures in space like shipyards which provide new activities & missions, and also procedurally generated POI‘s/Dungeons planetside.
Rework the mission system and the way it ties into the factions (especially those should be more relevant beyond some flavor text, rn it doesn’t really matter for which faction you do a mission it‘s basically all the same) and how we interact with those.
If HG adds those things, and also offers some more settings to make the world feel more dangerous again, rn I‘m still reliant on mods to get back some of the early survival feel, NMS would be perfected for me.
But tbh for an update about space and/or ground poi‘s there surely is a better fitting name than „Worlds“, Worlds in my head is really tied to the planets specifically.
Exactly
Space Part I 😂
I am hoping for an update to combat, and something that makes exocraft combat worthwhile.
As it stands, they're strictly inferior to on foot combat. They don't even have their own shields as an ablative layer to trade weak dps and difficulty aiming for better safety.
Pois desperately need something
It's the same shit I've seen in videos of 2016 NMS
More variety would be a start + new pois and difrent poi styles per race.
Everything looks great expect the same damn copy pasted building
I'm not even mad about transmission towers or drop pods
Corvette QoL dump
Corvettes need a bigger parts limit (minimum 200, a detailed medium-size corvette already reaches the 100 parts limit)
Unlock rotation for many pieces (reactors, ramps, etc... also sideways entrances hopefully)
More habs sizes (2x2, 3x3, with versions for double ceiling and sideways 1x2). Would be great if they were colorable
Interior elevator, wide staircase. Catwalks that attach to entrances and hab exteriors (something like freighter exterior catwalks).
Apartment complex style fire-exit catwalk for getting up and down habs. (2 doors in opposite ends connect from bottom to top hab)
Also interior doors and exterior doors (specially if to complement catwalks)
Fix the windows (panneled are fine, the other two types are full of seams and clip along the edges) and more cockpits too would be great (also windowless camera cockpit. For the esoteric builds like UFOs)
I imagine A 200 part limit would crash people's games I've already lagged around big corvettes
Modified/custom multi tools:
- boltcaster can be modified to let off one continuous rip until empty rather than short bursts
- notifications can be added for recoil control
- multi-tools can have actual sights and scopes
- multi-tools can be custom-built with longer barrels for longer range accuracy
- new multi-tool styles such as machine guns, rotary cannons, etc.
I'm sure yall can add to this, go for it. Multi-tools are too cookie-cutter and boring
I like to see them rework or make creauture look better they look like shit dorky whatever you wanna call them 🤭
I often see undersized/oversized heads and I hate it so much
I have a theory.
I have noticed that Travellers have started appearing in the stations mentioning things about boundaries collapsing. I think this is meant to hint at a major update in the works. Maybe something having to do with overhauling NPCs?
Maybe I'm stupid, let me know.
I second this! I have been trying to find fauna I have found in the past and it is really difficult. We need a search function.
Kind of, but not really. Those Traveller NPCs have been appearing and talking about boundaries collapsing since 2017. What that was hinting about was the expansion of multiplayer, which happened about seven years ago.
There is another thing about the introduction of multiplayer that I recently realized
Thanks, never seen them before now though.
I really want more things to do with corvettes
like docking for example
with other corvettes
and some random stuff to do inside the ship
like maybe having to repair the parts from outside
i just want to build the zeno battle table on my corvette and at my base so me and friends and battle on the go
Unfortunately, we have to contend with players who are playing on toasters.
And by that, I do mean the Nintendo switch.
Oh hell SW2 runs MP now right?
We have to temper and balance our wishes between what game engine can handle and hardware limitations and performance.
And by 'hardware limitations', not the recommended-specs on steam, but of the weakest hardware in the ecosystem.
(Me, I'd just look into making sure that anyone who's got a ship too big can't crossplay with switch users until they select a smaller ship)
Switch 1 already has a lower part limit than other consoles. So HG doesn't have a problem tailoring the limitations to fit the hardware. So, logically, the 100 limit doesn't have anything to do with console hardware.
Sometimes, it really is just a limit of the engine itself.
(Well, no one can cross play with Switch 1 anyway...)
Something id like to ses in the future is gene splicing pets and been able to change their elements maybe even chainge their colours manually
I'd like to see (and I'm sure some of these have been said before)
-
Terraforming, even if the process takes a long time, I'd love to be able to terraform a world into something else.
-
Pet farms, I'd like to see my pets free roam, maybe be able to tweak their stats through feeding and looking after them.
-
Ice Caps on planets, still blows my mind we don't have ice caps on planets.
-
Space Station restoration. I see abandoned space stations, I'd love to fix one up.
-
Being able to introduce other species of creatures on planets. Or even revive extinct species.
The scientist in me wants a lot of these things. Xenobiology needs more stuff.
this the area where people give ideas for updates or just general stuff we wanna see in-game?
General chat about update ideas and game future
ah alr thank ya
No devs here. If u want send ideas to them use zendesk link
- Allow for more settlements to be controlled 2. Once you reach a certain number of settlements on a planet you are allowed to establish a city.

ah okay
Being able to work on space stations would be nice!
Being able to construct a new station and allowing an empty system to be colonised would be even better!
And having the ability to modify a system's economy by constructing some megastructure or conflict level by combating piracy would definitely be the best...
ikr, it would add alot more layers to the game
I don't know if it would work with multiplayer...
how so
make it so the person who discorvered the system
and the planets
has the option
That makes sense tbh..
there is like an unfathomable amount of systems so this shouldnt cause too much trouble
What troubles me would be the ability of people to create zones of max economy by heavily investing on the systems' economies...
more customizeable exocraft would be nice
and exocraft with multiple seats
the Roamer is bigger than an american pickup truck, you should be able to bring your friends for a ride too XD
I would like to see mechanical flying beetles added to the fauna list. We have walking deer and tower mechanic type fauna.
i would like to see more humanoid mechanical creatures
if that makes sense
similar to how we have monkeys in real life
what if we had like mechanical monkeys
You've been watching Wizard of Oz too much lol 😆 now we just need the yellow brick road
"yellow sentinel trail"
I wish they expanded on the assets that are used when procedurally generating creatures, perhaps new animal types
I love No Man Sky,
wish i could make the game harder.
I'm so used to playing RLCraft.
I hope one day we gonna have an update where we can built armies like in StarCraft or Dawn of War.
Not necessary RTS, it can be like Sid Meier's Civilization.
We pretty much have all the foundations for that already, i should get my frigates maxed out finally
Now if we could also get a butler working the corvette...
I wish we could either A fix broken and abandoned space stations or B have a mobile base for planets
It's time for us, Travellers, to build our own space stations then.
I dream about one over the gas giant and call it "Bespin".
XD
I wanna put one over my gas giant
I would like explorable space station pulse encounters, like the pirate listening station
I just want them to add rocky
and i kinda want them to add more habs
specifically ones that are circular
like cylinders
so I can make more realistic builds
like the iss or the hail Mary
oh and solar panels for corvettes as well
That would be cool to have space-station like hab parts with even weirder localized gravity!
I need living freighters
I'd really like an exocraft hanger bay in the corvettes. And weather so bad on some planets you can't realistically explore on foot
And planets & moons that are so close to the parent star or planet that it creates huge tides. Also tidally locked planets
Bonecats are rocky.
they are not rocky
they are just cheap imitations
i want the real deal
how would that work considering planets dont orbit a star or rotate in this game
You mean moving cities like those in mortal engines?
Strong agree on the exocraft hanger bay on a corvette.
Corvettes should get more exploration focused parts, and Freighters should get more industry focused parts to make the most of the space.
Really, just something like a refinery that took materials from an adjacently placed storage unit to make a player-selected recipe in another storage unit...
The fact you have to babysit refineries or they just stop working is a real killer right now.
Yes
Theyu should make those xeno tables placeable. So that we could place one in our base, and battle our friends
As well as in corvettes
Solar sails for corvettes
Circles are more heavy in the ram, that's why we don't have more round things
It's obviously been asked before, but it's interesting to think about some mini-planet with a visible gravity origin like in mario galaxy, or even the ability to construct a gravity field for, say, our own space station.
Proposal: a high‑end industrial wall for the corvette hubs — a Planetary Hotspot Extractor. Works like a star extractor but for surface resources. You anchor the corvette on a hotspot and the module drains the node at full efficiency. Premium-tier tech, massive power draw, meant only for top‑end industrial builds
I have heavy industrail ship
Lowkey wanna feel it more
Some things I’ve been thinking about:
-
Elite Dangerous style BGS for the different races. Basically you’d pledge to a leader and when fighting different factions of different races (Gek for example) you would advance in reputation and gain rewards. Could provide an incentive for players to meet up and PVP as well since they would be pledged to different factions.
-
Space Station Building. Fully functional shops for player built stations and bases would be sweeeet.
-
MORE RACES. I find it hard to believe all these different galaxies only have 4 space-faring races.
Man this would be so cool
Just bought the game. Never ever played it and I was so excited to travel the universe just to find cool stuff and now I'm 100% hooked on the Xeno stuff and I wanna be the very best like no one [redacted]. I love it! Omg! Travel the universe in search of the best creatures for Xeno wars!!! And you can create your own after collecting eggs too! Omg!!!
Make base building and pvp better. Any way to add a ship combat mode?
Add were you can make your own settlements just like the ones you find, and make it were the ships you archive be displayed in your freighter
It's a really good update. Absolutely loving it
I would really love more Xeno stuff, especially resurrecting extinct species, proper farming with pets and introducing new life to worlds
Can we switch companion positions to organize it with fe. Fire animals on 1st page and Toxic animals on second. Would help a LOT!
Loving this new update and all of the updates since I last played. I'm reaching the 500 hours played point 👀
For a future update, I'd really love resources to get a slight lift. My favorite game was SWG, and in it, one of the best features was resources with quality and stats. And it being procedurally generated and percent focused, similar to the visors now. If that increases the resource value or even cool things like the quality of a craft, it'd be so fun
I REALLY want to see derelict freighters get a rework. For the last 2 years, I've been unable to turn in both crew manifests and captains logs. As you might expect, I've long since stopped waiting for a fix. But after seeing settlements get a second update, I'm really hoping to see derelicts get the same treatment!!! In my humble opinion, Desolation was THE best and coolest update.
Haha a fellow SWG enjoyer!!!
sigh those were the days
They should make so you can see the levels of your opponents creatures so you can match similar levels, or add some optional brackets so your creatures have to be at a similar level
Yeah, really!
You can... at least, you can for npcs
Gotta check if its the case for players because I forgor
I always look through the patch notes and so many bugs fixed for new features, but rarely do any old bugs get fixed. I've submitted (several times) a really bad visual bug that has caused terrain textures when viewed close up to appear highly pixellated. Which can look pretty gross when you're in a cave. I think it probably happened when they implemented that dynamic resolution tech a few years ago. It's a frustrating aspect of their business model that they spend so much more time constantly pushing out new features than making what they have (both on bugs and on feature depth) more solid
ummm serious question what’s with the patch notes, i keep trying to play with my friends on nms but these stupid patch notes don’t come to both consoles on the same day like i’m on Xbox and their on playstation and i keep waiting to play with them but i gotta wait atleast 3 days?????????
Every company has their own certification process for approving game updates on their platforms. This happens every update, some consoles take longer to get patches and updates than others. Just be patient, and you will eventually be on the same version
nono ik that but why even do patch notes juat days apart if they know it takes this long for all consoles, case it ruins plans and servers
Because it comes out the same day for other platforms
Hello Games releases the update/patch to everyone at the same time
I met someone who told me they were recruiting people for something called project new Atlantid, interested I discovered they were building an autophagy themed city
Please add signs. Not necessarily signs, just an object we can interact with and write in like the damaged machinery or terminals. I'd be great for bases with environmental storytelling.
Repeating the request to add full HOTAS support to NMS. It would be so much easier to fly ships with one, and without jumping through hoops to make it work.

the future?
oh
in the future i want worlds with multiple biomes, kinda like minecraft! that would be so cool! perhaps expanded cave systems too
Yes we need better caves!
more enemies to fight too would be great
You're in luck! They are making a new game called Light No Fire, which is one earth-sized planet with many biomes and continents
probably won't ever have multiple biomes in NMS though
I mean, I could see doing a few biomes. Not drastically different ones but, say, a fiery planet with some mountainous volcano terrain and then some flat areas where the lava cooled and stuff can grow
Related biomes that still fit an overall theme rather than an entire variety
Or maybe, say, an ice planet that has some glaciers as well as a tundra
or a tropical planet with jungle areas, swampy areas, beachy areas. yknow
yeah I feel like the terrain is kinda the worst part of the procedural generation atm, it's just wavy everywhere
all other procgen space games with planets have better and more realistic looking terrain
would love to see them do something like the Genesis proc gen engine for Star Citizen but I don't think it's realistic

With NMS winning the BAFTA award for most evolved game for 2026, is it too much to shout HYPE?
Have you unlocked purple systems yet? Their terrain is far better, a night and day difference
The genesis planet tech is super impressive, but it's not a particularly suitable comparison
NMS terrain is voxel based, so a lot of the simulation aspects aren't particularly viable
Games like Minecraft are fairer comparisons
Here's some more purple system terrain
Not yet but why is it not in other systems as well
Basically it's done that way as to not ruin existing bases etc with the update
They've got a few exclusive biomes too
Damn, well gotta make some sacrifices for the greater good
I heard Worlds Part 1 applied to all systems and ruined bases, so WP2 didn't?
Well that's great at least, gotta unlock the purple as fast as possible then
I'm doing too much side stuff
Yeah basically. Part 2 biomes were applied to existing systems but not in a large quantity
Stuff like ocean worlds are locked to the new systems though
Yeah either 6.5 or 7.0 in summer
I'm glad they got BAFTA, hopefully will motivate them to work even harder on NMS
LNF is great and all but NMS still has infinite untapped potential
Yeah absolutely
With the recent release of the Xeno Arena update, I wouldn't mind being able to build our own Holo-Arenas in our bases or on our Freighters to fight friends without having to travel to the anomaly.
Or at least an unoccupied arena at some poi
Yea
I wish we got a worlds part 3 and got to see like, eyeball planets, tidally locked planets, even more types and mixes of lifeforms
Like ego the living planet or a planet sized cosmic horror that eats and goes to sleep rinse and repeat
Fisherman Chair - Give a stable position on bridge/corvette while fishing - Prop Scheme earned after catching 500 fish
how would a tidally locked planet work in nms
Forever day in one side and forever night in the other
yeah but nms doesnt have orbital mechanics or anything of the sorts
so would they just have to freeze the sky box
That's weird, planets orbit and change positions all the time
Don't they revolve around the star
I swear they dont
no I think its just a skybox
Gameplay-wise, no
What.

In terms of the setting/story/lore of course they do, but in the game the planets are fixed relative to each other
I swear to god they can like, change places
I've seen it
Well if that's the case i think tidally locked planets can still work, just actually freeze their skybox
I wish they could
All the planets share a skybox
There were initial plans for planetary rotation, but the test players felt it was "too confusing"
room temperature iq test players
we could have gotten such good mechanics
I can understand the confusion to an extent, but like... come on
they maybe could make certain stuff orbit planets
like space stations
or if you get out of you corvette the planets could attract it
idk
If a new player can get to the mun in ksp without even learning orbital mechanics, the testers should be able to figure out how planet rotation works
I want intelligent life
I want more variety
for alien life
ok im lying i just want smth that looks like rocky
megafauna would be cool too
also this is more for quality of life but I would like a button on corvettes to teleport to the roof
and i think atmosphere re-entry effects would add alot
I think it would be cool to have Bio-mechanical Corvette parts
would be cool for some creepy builds
this probably isnt gonna happen cause of no mans sky's art direction but realistic habs and stuff for corvettes
like cylindrical habs
and more realistic cockpits
where there is only a couple small windows and you have to use the nav panels to fly the ship
and there could be some sort of benefit to cockpits like that
This factoid is repeated a lot, but it's a bit of a misquote.
The source is a blog post in which Sean details what has been changed with the day one patch for the PS4 version of the game. One of the changes listed is Planet rotation – play testing has made it obvious people are struggling to adjust to this during play so it’s effects have been reduced further….
If this was in reference to the promised (and briefly shown) planet rotation feature, it's inclusion was bizarre. The planets where obviously not rotating at all, with or without the patch. There was nothing left of the mechanic to be "reduced".
It's possible they were trying to cover for the rotation being removed in an ambiguous way and decided to put the blame on playtesters, it could be a mostly honest oversimplification of the real story of it being removed (why would they imply it was still a thing, though?) but I think it's possible they were actually talking about reducing the speed of the day/night cycle (which would be quite disorienting to testers if it were too fast) and the quote has just been misinterpreted by the community at large.
Well if it was a part of the game once it would be easier to re-add
an old feature i wish was re-added was stars being determined by the actual systems around you as opposed to a static skybox
Hear me out:
we need cooler space fleets
they're cool enough, but i think we should take inspiration from space movies like starwars with the stuff we can get and the variation of frigates
maybe even get sub freighters alongside your capital freighter
wait that existed and was removed?
Yes
Yes
Yes
You do realize how much that could glitch right
Shot like a cannon
I mean if they do it right it shouldn't glitch
yeah, you used to be able to go to the edge of the galaxy and see a starless sky for example
they changed it during one of the graphics updates
What about deepen the piracy.
This time you would have Vy'keen, Gek and Korvax enemies on planets.
Settlements will have a armoury building, if you upgrade it those people will get better weapons to defend themselves.
Kill pirates and hunt their hideout. Inside a mountain or underground hidden from plain side.
oh dang
uhh game might have an memory leak ngl
Only one?
Video memory leak
Lots of them it seems
So bad it resetted my display settings on my whole computer how do you even manage this
for me the game suddenly gets very stuttery and get 100% gpu ussage
blew up shitty amd drivers lmao
for me too, especially within the planets
for me its on space stations
i leave my pc for a lil afk in a space station
and bam
whole pc trying to kill itself
So real
Lots of people having problems on AMD right now
There is some AMD driver problem on Windows
Can only wait for a driver/Windows update
I turned my settings down to High and it still manages to fill my 10 GB vRam
That's why I took the nuclear option and upgraded my 3080 to a 5080. The memory leak on 10gb cards were getting on my nerves
Could have got a 5070/5070TI
12 gig base
16 gig TI
My steam deck gets no memory leaks that’s all AMD
5070ti sure, not touching 5070 for that reason, if 10gb isn't enough, 12gb can't be far behind, VRAM is something id rather have too much of than not enough, plus I also get more performance anyway
I did put 5070ti on the shortlist but for one reason or another I got 5080 instead
I can't speak for steam deck as I don't own one, but it may be because the game runs lower resolution so doesn't have as much of a base vram usage, so the leak doesn't affect affect it. NMS still leaks with a 5080 but vram Headroom makes it so that it doesn't make the game crawl anymore
is it specifically a 10 gb problem? I've read that since it's a non-standard value it can cause problems
when I bought my PC I didn't think I'd play any more video games so I went for the option with a better processor and worse GPU
and now graphic cards are expensive af
Would be nice not to have to manually analyze every geode in my inventory.
You know i wonder if we are getting another update between now and August. I have a feeling hello games is going to heavily concentrate on a anniversary update..
The anniversary is still almost 4 months away, that‘s a 3rd of the year. That we‘ll get another update until then is a pretty safe bet
Pretty sure mine is a 3080 and it seemed fine, but also haven't been on NMS this past week.
Graphics settings are fine but seems like something messed with my sound settings.
They also tend to align the largest updates with a .0 version, and we‘re only at 6.3 now, so it‘s probs gonna go 6.5 and then 7.0 for the largest update this year, which should be the summer one.
Idea for an update (sorry, I just liked the sound of the acronym...):
The N.M.S. Update (No More Soap)
This update adds the Multitool-Tool Power Washer Upgrade
- The Power Washer Multi-Tool upgrade does not use soap, it uses Faecium to clean!
When you clean creatures, they may produce soap-like bubbles! (not real soap, lifetime bubbles guarantee)
I suppose it depends if they want to target the anniversary for August, I could see one coming in June yet.
I don’t get memory leaks
I have a base 5070 Asus prime and that is fine
My steam deck has 8 gigs VRAM and gets no leaks either
I run nms in 1440p on pc
800p medium on steam deck
There is a problem with AMD drivers on Windows rn I think
Everyone getting it should file a report to AMD and NMS
I already sent one to AMD
Minotaur should have a module to replace arms with side-mounted cannons.
Like bro arms are useless with that thing xD
What do y'all think the next update will be about
I really hope we get more and a better combat like on foot
We should get more recipes that we can buy on the Atlas station
Like currently you can get every recipe real fast we should get many more so that the span of the game gets longer
I really want to play the game for 1 k hours and feel like I have some stuff that I grinded for
Whej you got everything u should then try treating rhe game like a factory one and make mega factories as a goal
Honestly, something that expands a system that's yet to be reworked. we've gotten the fossils, Settlements, Salvageable scrap modules, the Colossus, and now companions all have gotten expanded on, so something along those lines that hasnt been reworked or expanded on yet is a safe bet.
Points of interest, space anomalous encounters, derelicts, Sentinel battles and nests, black market, frigates, racing, mission types at stations, Roamer/nomad are all still on the table, and we seem to be in an age of Reworks, so probably something along one of these.
I hoenstly hope we get an update that replaces a bunch of pregenerated stuff with more varied procedual equivalents
like
there's only three hazardous flora
there's only one variant of each building essentially
etc
i do feel like this kinda stuff not being affected by worldgen is one of the big things left that makes exploration feel samey
its why i really like the holo arena update - it actually involves you interacting with the procedually generated content for once
they added like 1 or 2 new hazardous flora a while back, but yeah
more variation would be nice
though i am still discovering some new flora and minerals. pretty cool stuff
I hope we get an update that puts more life into the planent system furthering exploration, plus more weapons to use and maybe more corvette parts
i think the main problem is that exploration within a planet is just not rewarded at all past the very earlygame
but tbh i also dunno how youd fix taht
like
every resource is on every part of the planet
but also planets are large enough that biomes wouldnt really help
becasue youd just use your ship to get to the correct biome, which is fundamentally the same as taking the ship to another planet in the same system
a cave update maybe??
but even then it'd just add things to explore that arent the planet surface
instead of making the planet surface interesting to explore
honestly, the pet arena update was the literal best update so far in terms of actually encouraging interaction with the procedually generated parts of planets
honestly if the plan is to revisit older elements and applying new activities and gameplay loops to encourage interaction with them, im all for it
id just like to say that in my sleep deprived state I'm coming up with so many peak ideas and I will not elaborate any further on that, y'all are just gonna have to trust
I think it will be a building overhaul because one of the devs said they were working to improve performance on large bases but they couldn't say much
but what I want is better ship and land combat
and better corvette building tools
so you dont have to spend hours just to angle a couple parts
flight update would be cool as well
with races and stuff
and maybe better crash physics
hear me out since we dont have proper planet rotation or orbits what if we got them for corvettes and maybe space stations
and more space pois
More corvette parts. SPECIFICALLY straight pieces for the fairing/diffusers like the Vesper/Hardframe or the Speedbird pieces. Like, the Cowlings/Diffusers angle up or down, but there is nothing to continue that curve for the length of the ship, etc. Pieces that match their contours for along the sides of habs too would be nice. Wider pieces would be nice too (2 habs wide), but maybe not feasible. And the ability to flip wing parts upside down, and more of them.
While on the subject of Corvettes, how about fixing the colors so they are accurate? Pure white is like 50% gray in reality. I want a bright white ship, and it's impossible right now.
Some full-on urban/city locations. Make them Points of Interest, make it a new biome (Urban), but something that is at least like 20x the size of a settlement, organized/paved, and with useful things like all the space station elements for shops, etc. I would never buy into Store Citizen, but I do admire the cities/residences in the game. Basically take elements from the outlaw station, normal station, freighter base, settlements, and the anomaly and some planetary POIs and group them all together on a planet surface.
I think there shouldn't be cities or anything on planets
while they do need to revamp the pois
cities would be better in space stations
cause rn they look huge from the outside but with not much on the insids
would also make more sense because of the lore
also yeah the white being grey is so annoying
I feel like HG really needs to add an activity that encourages players to dive into the deep ocean worlds; as things stand there‘s currently little reason to do so beyond the sightseeing.
Sea Glass isn‘t really worth it from a financial standpoint, and Lithium isn‘t needed for anything urgently.
Maybe another source of nanite income would do it.
Im so used to sea of thieves i thought HG stood for Hourglass
discussions about the future of NMS?! is it for real?
We have a squadron mechanic.
Please port it over to settlements to make use of the starports we build in them.
Limit it to 3 or 4 ships per settlement. haulers set up trade routes to the space station or other settlements on the planet to increase settlement yield or add more resource options. explorers find exotic materials in their travels. fighters defend against pirate attacks and earn the settlement notoriety which increases yield of everything.
also - add a new structure option: Xeno Arena home. Maybe it should be a buildable base piece.
We can already interact with settlement population - let us assign them roles based off stats to increase the productivity of a settlement.
Lastly - settlement yield should include the surplus of units made.
