What’s the new space station update I’m behind
There was only like 10s short update teaser.
We dont know much. Mostly its speculation
We saw new station model and new ship type or new unique ship like utopia speedster.
We'll probably get a longer teaser when the current expedition redux ends.

Yep. In the official canonical universe, they announced LNF in 2020 and constantly delay it.
We live in an alternate universe where they decided to wait until the game was actually ready and then announce it, which happened to be end of 2023. 
I wonder what else the update will bring us.. the space stations and new ship type are the highlights, but surely there's more. 👀
More ways for refineries to bug out 
....Yeah. Each update brings in terrible bugs that never get fixed.
Like solar ships didn't use to create phantom sounds back when they didn't exist. 
The freighter combat HUD didn't use to bug out before Echoes.. when it didn't exist. 
Weird how things that dont exist dont have bugs eh.
Almost like... HG should focus on bugfixing instead of new content for a while
I'm fine with new content releasing buggy and then get patched out, but HG just doesn't seem to do that. They release broken stuff and move on to more broken stuff.
And the weird thing is they sometimes randomly patch out some 4 year old bugs out of nowhere.

Hopefully they will focus on nms this year after developing lnf for 5 years and porting game to other platforms.
Yeah, I'd be excited for an update that's just all about bug fixes.
I always rationalized it that HG couldn't do that as a business because they have to make content so they can make flashy trailers out of them to earn money from new players, and you can't really advertise bug fixes.
Hopefully they'll be able to actually do that with LNF out.

The combat system could also use a fix..
Currently you gain a new wanted level every time you enter and exit your ship, do it enough times and your wanted level disappears even with sentinels right next to you.
Enter the ship and stay sitting in it and an invisible freighter will start shooting down at you..
Sometimes the wanted level doesn't go away no matter what.
Sometimes drones backpedal so damn hard when being shot with the mining beam that they actually lose track of you from how far away they got pushed.
Thats what you get when all the noisy ones brainlessly scream for combat updates
how does the generation work? I know it uses l systems, but does it use a noisemap?

Three ways to Expand NMS sales and make add a lot of additional content.
- advertise an expansion for NMS (most players would buy it ) then have 2 teams continually Woking on New content for the game. The expansion could focus on different content to the main game like more RPG, story content etc. this idea would also allow the original team to focus there efforts more.
- Another way to allow more income thus more content to be created for NMS would be to release paid ship packs (like star citizen) even though some players would not buy it there would be a significant amount that would pay. With the additional income the programming team could be greatly increased and much more content could be created.
- Create a DLC that takes the best Mods and integrates them into the game. The mod creators could be paid a small amount per DLC sale which would allow them to continue to expand there mods. the remaining income could go to Another NMS programming team to integrate, bug fix and further expand content.
Yeah, there's already just so many divergent gameplay strands and just stuff in NMS now that I think they could definitely do with addressing the IMO noticeably-rickety foundation it's all built on. Even just quality of life stuff - interacting with NPCs and landmarks still feels weirdly slow.
I'd like to see the note where it says that Hello Games doesn't have enough money to invest into the game
- we are already in such a phase, where HG started the Autophage arc, we are waiting for the final chapter to be released. HG is a small studio and with Light No Fire announced the majority of workforce will be dedicated to that title.
- there is nothing real world money would allow people to buy that is not in the game already. All ships, multitools, freighters, etc are procedurally generated. There is no "better models" to be found and put a markup on them. And if those were introduced, people with access to save editor or mods will be able to acquire those for free, completely ruining the point of selling them in 1st place.
Also I've got to say it:
Every single frost planet looks and feels exactly 100% identical to each other.
- Mods are subjective matter, just because you like something doesn't mean everyone will. Mods that incorporate custom assets will not be available on Sony's consoles due to their policies. That will create a divide between players who have access to content X and those who do not in a title offering cross play functionality and potentially could be a cause of technical problems.
Also: mods are free for the most part. We make them because we either love the game or we want to fix it to HG's spite. Why would HG take our voluntary work and put a price tag on it if it costs them nothing to incorporate these mods? Why change the strategy of no DLCs / MTXs 7 years into the game's continued development?
You are totally missing the point of the game and no amount of emojis you give yourself will change that
As well, not sure who the intended audience is. As mentioned, HG is a small company, with limited resources. They actively do NOT monitor social media, including Discord. No one from HG will ever see your posts.
That may or may not be true, but HG not making more content is NOT because they are short on money. Its because their team is small because they want to keep a family like atmosphere. The madness of proposing more paid content when the game has been pumping free updates since ever is beyond me.

I wouldn't like to have paid dlc myself either.
However, if they were to have microtransactions for licensed ship skins (could maybe act as a bobblehead? Install it to change the ships appearance to XYZ) for example Star wars? Then maybe because if we were to have some licensed stuff in game it would need to both be paid for by HG and have a profit margin for both the Licenser and HG themselves
With all that said, paid for content is generally what damages a game and by extension studios so best to just not have any paid for stuff in game

I was thinking that there should be a new feature in which the player can customize their ship and build their own design of ship.
Even though that may take a very long time and a lot of effort to implement.

!hg I have one more thing to mention- I think that, as an update, the devs should make buying freighters easier. For example, one time, I built a huge nipnip farm on my freighter. The farm could produce over 200 nipnip/hour. I then went exploring and found another freighter and bought it, but my nipnip farm did not transfer over to the new freighter and I lost practically everything. I think that everything should transfer over when you buy a new freighter.

Overall ship revamp
Looks:
. Ships being able spawn with extra details, new parts for the ships like the nose and boosters could be added.
.Ships having unique interior designs which can also be customised more, ornaments, cockpit colour, which screen displays what, and more little details
.adding upgrade modules could change the visual appearance of parts on the ship.
Combat:
.Ship damage complications. Prevent Being hit in critical spots such as the engines, if hit, cripple movement, slowing down ship speed until repaired. If cockpit window is hit, hazard protection will slowly start going down unless fixed
( this would happen with harder difficulties)
. Make other ships ai smarter and make them harder to hit and destroy. Other ships could call for backup like you can with your squadron, leading to big dogfights
Please not more combat stuff, especially complications. NMS is special for its simplicity and combat being pretty much fully optional, and there are so many other areas of the game that need polishing 
I'm really hoping that the new ship type HG teased will be a customizable class, rather than it being 'all or nothing' with other ships.
That way ship hunters don't have their playstyles affected and those who want ship customization can actually experience it.
If it's just another ship type that's been added to the universe, that'd also be neat.
If it's a unique ship that we get by doing a quest, that'd be eh.
And if it's just an expedition reward, that'd be the worst. 😔

I can live without ship customization, but I seriously just want ship recoloring.
There's been so many times where I found the perfect looking ship with stats, class and inventory I can change myself.. but the color was butt ugly. 😔

Considering the coming update in the next month or so, it's interesting that the system the weekend quiksilver mission is in has an abandoned station but still has npc visitors and such in it. Previous ones did not iirc. Maybe one of the soon to be new stations? (if it's not all of them getting the revamp)
my fastest ship is a solar by far and its not even close
I'm really curious to see how the abandoned and pirate stations will change.
I kinda hope abandoned ones stay the same, to be like a monument for how far the game has come.

It’s more like actual aircraft but more importantly it offers finer control than what the analog stick offers
Which for NMS including this as an option would make flight monumentally better than what it is now
But there is only one problem not by it itself but by a certain platform
Xbox players wouldn’t be able to do that (PS and switch players could) reason being is that Xbox controllers still don’t have gyroscopes in them (so if you’re playing on PC and have an Xbox controller you may want to consider changing that)

can i ask for some metallic colors or extra shiny bits to put on our suits/armor? i know some of the choices already have metallic bits but the armor parts you can buy for quicksilver are all matte, and dont look very good with some of the jetpacks/capes that are very shiny ||im just a sucker for cosmetics lol||

Ship customisation would be nice, it doesn’t have to be full on, but maybe something like colours and some parts you can add on to the ships you find?
Need more hostile plant variety. It takes away from the experience when there’s only like three hostile plants that you can spot from anywhere anytime
Similar (but not the same) issues with land vehicle driving lol
There’s no real consequences towards flipping the vehicle damping the idea that driving in game is a skill, objects like massive boulders just poof are destroyed with barely any effort (altho with plants sure I can understand why it wouldn’t take much) and no consequence to your speed, and the controls are just yucky, and the simple fact that you cannot look down in third person because HG wanted to have mining be a a thing which is fine but this could have been better handled; going down a cliff without knowing what is at the bottom is an anxiety not needed (not meaning to say it’s it’s super bad but I just don’t want to end up in a cave with no way out except walking)
Something just hit me.. what if we got the placeholder looking multitool salvaging terminal in the anomaly and not in space stations because HG didn't want to add a new thing to space stations since they already planned to overhaul them?
Hopefully we'll be able to scrap multitools in the new space stations.

I feel like an actual map of the current galaxy that you could look at like elite dangerous's and star wars's maps have done would be cool instead of this thing
just a nice, bird's-eye view type thing like these tucked away in a side menu instead of that weird angle
just to disambiguate, flying through the galaxy itself on the map is perfectly fine. I just wish there was a genuine, in-game view of the full galaxy to mark stuff out on because they're unfathomably large

All I want map wise is the ability to go into a planet map, search specific coords and drop a pin on it which you can then fly to

In the leaks we found 3 different entrance shapes, this being one of them, a hexagon.
But what confuses me is that I thought we'd have 3 different interior runways but in the official teaser the entrance looks weirdly placed.

I’m just legitimately a really stupid person
not necessarily like that at all. something more... explicative, and that can be viewed at reasonable angles instead. With the galactic atlas, something that isn't even in the game itself, both of these coordinates (the lower and south poles respectively) appear to be in the exact same location, since the site (unlike the game, which has a vertical rod on your location for positioning relative to the disk) never makes it clear what your position is relative to the galactic disk, along with exaggerating movement of your location on the east-west axis when compared to the north-south axis, something still not as bad as the elephant in the room, overexaggeration on the upper-lower axis.

Like IGN called the last NMS video "NMS evolution" because.... it's the evolution of NMS, it literally shows how NMS evolved, there's no indication of a name for the next update.
HG themselves posted the same exact video with no "evolution" mentioned anywhere.
But IGN using different wording for the title of the same video is enough to have so many people convinced that's the next update's name.
Well, where, where is the update? In the morning I was all in anticipation and anticipation)))) Although my mind tells me that there was no tweet from Sean. I'm SO hoping it's a specific class that's customizable and only that class. I think both sides would be happy with it.

Expeditions are such a bizarre thing to me.
My reactions to exclusive expedition content is always "Why isn't this in the base game?!??" and thankfully a lot of it makes it into the base game a few updates later.
But the rewards... you can't make them too good because literally everyone misses out on it in base gameplay. You if you make them meh, that kinda undermines the whole reason for expeditions.

we did have the speeder but that was never made into its own ship type. expedition only
So far both expedition ships are fighters. So the only thing special about them is their appearance. Other than that they can have identical stats to any other S class fighters.

look I get that ur salty because the game doesnt run as well as u want it on switch but theyre entire selling point of the game is exploration SANDBOX of the COSMOS, and a major part of that is finding a ship that is YOUR ship and what better way to do that than to construct your own, we can already see that it would work with the sucess of that part of starfield, which is very similar type of game to NMS so it would logically work here too. Also, i remember when people said that sentinels weren't getting an update and now theyre totally reworked. so at somepoint logically its coming to NMS and ima keep askin till that day.

You’re asking for them to add a ton of mechanics when they are already focusing on other projects. Had this been like 2015 then yea that would be feasible.
They've been steadily improving the Switch performance with almost every update, so I wouldn't worry about that. They've already been tweaking the FSR2 issues. There are still some left, but keep reporting to the zendesk and attach images.
I've been playing on Switch since a few days after the October 2022 launch. The game plays 300% better now than it did then. They haven't abandoned the Switch yet. 🙂

Cant even pilot the freighters, no reason for freighters to have diffrent weapons. Ground up buildable ships would require ground up changes in the game code. I doubt it would happen. Colors and decals like exocrafts are in range but full ground up personalization imo is just to much. Its not NFSU2

One thing id like to see in NMS is more planet type/space station variety. Gas giants were talked about, but other than that, Dyson spheres would be a breath of fresh air, as well as partially destroyed planets (like how Hoxxes IV has a piece of it detached), since there is no way that all 16^16 planets managed to stay intact.

I don't think this is fair, there are incredibly few people who work at hg all things considering, there's very little if any risk at all in hiring more people and doubling the size of your workforce to account for sustaining two major games at the same time
Especially considering "doubling the workforce" would still only put them at a total of around 100 people
All that to say, I think it's reasonable to expect that hg could handle updating and maintaining both games at the same time

Here are my suggestions. (I spent many hours in the game. There is still a lot ahead of me. It is possible that some of the topics I will write about are already in the game.)
- In my settlement, the textures of the stairs are bugged and overlap other textures, so settlers who want to go there stop and do nothing.
- In my opinion, it should be possible to have more villages than just 1. This is far too few. What's nice about the game is that you can take care of the settlement. In my opinion, you should have at least 2 settlements.
- You should also add the option to build your own settlement from scratch. This settlement would be one. You can then build whatever you want. Some places, e.g. the kitchen or the shop, could be marked with something so that the village would know about it.
- More village quests to make it more interesting.
- Possibility to sort your bases when selecting in the teleporter. I have so many databases that I often get lost. So you could sort it out/folders/add a given space station to your favorites.
- Better lighting when it's night. Often, the lamps provide so little light that even if there are a lot of them, it is still dark.
- Possibility to undo the hole in the ground I just made.
- Detailed missions/number of things needed to complete the mission.
- Small roofs 1 on 1 because there are only 2 on 2
- I accidentally added an NPC to the squadron and now it helps me when I'm fighting something in space. I would like to have control over it so that if necessary I could remove him and add another one to the squadron. Also have the opportunity to upgrade his ship's equipment.
- More interesting undergrounds. There could be some nice crystals, flora, etc.
- Copying raw materials to then decorate bases such as wood, crystal, stone, etc.
- A protective field against bots in the base, so that they do not attack me when, for example, I am in a base on a planet where bots are aggressive.
- Animals to be tamed (any animals that can be tamed)

- Fleet Battles. For my fleet to fight another fleet. I would also be able to help my fleet with my ship and fight other large and small enemy ships. In these battles there could be some hints on what my fleet should focus on, e.g. attack, defense, dodge, reconnaissance, etc.
- Some simple mini-games (always popular in a large game to add easy and engaging mini-games)
- Persistent colored pings on the map. I can only mark one spot, which is annoying. I have a lot of cool places on the planet, but I can't mark them because I don't have that many pings.
- Ability to turn off the sound of the backpack when refining metals in it.
- Possibility to choose the type of starting planet, e.g. acidic/volcanic/toxic.
- When digging ore deposits, it was a good idea to mine only a given raw material.
- Have my own crew to fight with me against other enemy frigades/ships. Options can also be added to lend your ships to your squadron.
- Possibility to skip dialogues. Learning a language (or rather one stupid word) takes a lot of time. At first it was cool, but talking to everyone like that over and over again is so annoying that I don't want to continue learning languages. Give me some strong skipping of dialogues that I don't care about anyway, so that you can approach the guy and have him quickly give you a new word, and sometimes more.
The game mainly involves exploring the universe. Unfortunately, most planets/animals are just plain gross. Let there be some more normal animals somewhere, so you can tame some of them to follow you. So far, all the animals I have met are freaks. I know it's not your typical fighting game, but you could add more enemies for some challenge. You can also add race tracks where we would race against other players/npcs.

Settlements are seen as a chore and I doubt anyone would like to have to oversee 2 of them in their current format. Adding more missions would probably increase the spam in mission log, and players hate the game for picking / defaulting to arbitrary missions. The only solution for the settlements issue would be a rework from the ground up - make them more engaging, less of a timed based chore and with better rewards along the way
5,6 would be nice, 7 is already in the game - it's called the Restore mode on the Terrain Manipulator. The modes can be cycled with a dedicated key / button. I don't know what you mean by 8, for me the game does a good job of explaining what is needed, and it's only a couple of cases where HG is either wrong, not clear enough or took too much artistic liberty with descriptions
Squadron members can be dismissed from the Manage Squadron menu at freighter's bridge. Upgrading their ship won't really work since the only data save is the pilots class. If anything, squadron overall damage output should be increased.
11 sure, 12 we already have plenty of natural decorations in QS shop, 13 doesn't make sense, you come to agressive Sentinel planet, be ready to fight. Otherwise use another difficulty preset. 14 is already in the game, most animals can be tamed, many can be ridden
15 we already have, 16 doesnt make much sense, you wanna have a pretty sight - go explore planets. 17 no, we need lower class upgrades for early game, 18 sure why not. 19 lmao and lets leave it at that. 20 use Save Beacons or Base Computers, those leave a permanent marker and be coloured
They could make expanding villages and upgrading them more interesting. For those interested, it would be nice to have more settlements. Building a settlement from scratch as the player would like would be great. And by 8, I had to complete the mission more than once, but it was not explicitly stated how much it would take and I didn't know how long I had to look for materials for this mission. They could add some markings on the map so I know what the mission is about. Usually the missions are simple, but some are annoying. Now I also remembered that on a huge ship like the Death Star from Star Wars, you can accept missions there. When he accepts these missions, he doesn't show me where to go. And when I want to go to the plane during a mission, my character gets out of it. So I have no idea what to do in these missions. They could also add a color change for the ship/frigade. They could also add graffiti like they do in fortnite.
21 sure, 22 no point since it's all seeded per player, 23 I dont see a problem here, since the tool you use to dig deposits is powered by the other resource you pick up, so you can use it right back or simply discard 24 that's what squadrons do or at least would do if using them was worth it
about 12.I haven't seen a shop with interesting plants to decorate the base yet. maybe there are a lot of these decorations, but a nice idea would be to collect some plant/rock/tree from the planet and then be able to craft it normally and decorate the base with it.
"the animals are gross" this isn't stardew valley lol. Evolution takes all shapes and forms, what you find gross is highly subjective. There are exocraft racing track parts in base parts computer.
about 13. what I mean is that on some planets, when bots notice you, they immediately want to attack you. I set up a base on such a planet because it looks quite nice. Unfortunately, bots attack me from time to time. I don't want to fight them then because I'm building a base. Too bad it doesn't have windows as big as I would like, so I build lots of balconies through which these bots fly in.
Game adds markers for all missions, some are placed direct on target, some note the approximate location and need to be scouted with the Target Sweep in Analysis Visor.
I would recommend playing the game a bit more and actually learning it's mechanics, they can be a bit more complex but they are there. If you focus on the single mission you shouldn't have any trouble
about 17. what? xD early game? After 10 hours of play, I already have all the upgrades in the S class. I've never even bought a class A upgrade. I always buy S because S is the best upgrade. There is so much money that nothing else is bought. I play in hard mode, and even though I don't play much, I easily earned money to upgrade my weapons and ship.
I haven't played this game for long and I already have all the upgrades, multitool, ships, on S. I only have the frigade in tier A. And the only thing I can do with the money now is to buy more slots in the multitool, either on the ship or in the backpack.
That's cool, but your gameplay progression is not an indicative of other players' progression. If they need to buy a lower tier upgrade, they will. Same with ships, multitools, freighters, etc.

Yup, some players will know how to get to S quickly and begin farming for perfect X whereas other, like you say, will still be working with C or B since it'd Nanite based and the main story (which I assume new players will focus) doesn't have a lot of focus on the nanite part
That's just the consequences of building on an aggressive Sentinel planet. If you don't want to be constantly attacked, build somewhere else.
And not everyone is into min/maxing or getting the best equipment immediately. If you don't want lower class modules, just don't buy them.
For example: it took me 20 hours to just leave the starter system. Not because I didn't grasp the essentials, but because I liked exploring all the planets. Everyone plays differently.

Like, have them spawn with mission givers and let the settlements sell their own unique stuff

like imagine if we could have entire wars with our capital ships acting as CnC and heavy artilery, like if we could create a part in the freighters that allow us to have a bow mounted cannon, the parts of the anti aircraft, a perfect example of this is a game called infinite lagrange, exact same idea, allow us to have base freighters, but add weapons to them to make them seige cannon based freighters, meant to lead the spearhead against the enemy with a massive turret, follow by a bunch of other smaller cannons for defense. or aircraft carriers, that launch hit and run tactics using drones, meant to overwhelm the enemy's defenses to bring in bombers to launch the killing blow, or to repair the fleet. heavy artilery meant to launch devastating rounds from the back of the formation, low defenses but launch massive railgun rounds that tear holes straight through the enemy's hull. or star destroyer level cannons meant to raze entire civilizations, or a massive command unit, meant to be the center of everything, to coordinate fire from everyone. tactical missile destroyers, small, light armor, but releases devastating barrages of missiles meant to take out smaller targets. Heavy armored dreadnauts, covered bow to stern in medium cannons, slow, but covered in armor and anti aircraft batteries meant to create a defensive wall around the weaker ships of the formation, less dps then seige cannon freighters, but can take out medium targets with severe defense. imagine if we could lead massive battles of giant ships and command them from our beloved resurgence venator freighters

When interacting with an ancient portal, I wish we had a new option that lets us click on a planet from our Wonders menu and automatically activate the portal.
Right now we have to mouse over the planet, take a screenshot of it's glyphs, then tab back in and out to see what they are when putting them in.
Would be better if we could .. save the adresses of the planets.

Kinda takes me out how they just don't happen unless you warp with your ship.
Like a pirate freighter could attack your freighter while you're inside it only in pirate or high conflict systems, and you could use the difficulty menu to scale the consequences. Like if you lose the battle, either some rooms in your base get destroyed or stuff in your inventory gets stolen.
But I don't think your freighter blowing up would fit in NMS. That'd be pretty intense lol.
I think majority of players would not be a fan of having to repair their freighter each time
Especially early on, you get your first free freighter, you barely have the resources for a better ship, you warp to a new system and have such a colossus to fix
I feel like 4.0 kinda just ruined the point of the game with starships like they are supposed to be uniqe and have there own benefits and also disadvanges making each one cool and different now you can get any ship and upgrade it and they will do the exact same thing with any ship.

because we have way to much inventory now and its kinda annoying and harder to upgrade to max which you dont even need to

i wish they made more storage things, like give us more usefull tiny items, like the item locker you get from derilict freighters, we should be able to store like maybe 5 exosuit sized stacks of (insert thingy here) in there, or give us something that has the same storage of a storage box, but you can make a ton, or just give us more storage boxes to build, or make the existing ones bigger, but more expensive

Fighters have highest damage bonus, explorers - warp range, haulers - shields, etc
If you are pursuing the highest stats in each department, you will need to use the specialized ship types for that
Inventory sizes are also different per ship types, not all ships can hit 120 cargo slots
Problem is, nobody is gonna reduce inventories after years of player base crying about not having enough

I'm fairly new to this game, and I must say, it's enjoyable, but I feel it's potential, due to it's premises, it's still quite wasted.
What I felt it's needed, among other more specific things, is a Truly customisation of space ships of any kind, adjunction of a wide variety of new weapons and armours, maybe even customisable, more immersive space battles and an actually solid System Conquest and government, intergalactic diplomacy, a more refined and articulated galactic conflict system, +upgrading/development features of your own faction/empire/whatever (a bit in a Stellaris Fashion, with the immersive space wondering of Mass Effect's Trilogy). This game doesn't need other grinding features, but a more deep gameplay and dynamic life that let players engage in a truly complete and full space exploration experience.
This, of course, is more an unspecified general idea of what the priorities of this game, which seriously has a great potential, should be. But of course, I'm not gonna really trust this will ever be done, although it would be thematically correct with the Sci-Fi genre context these developers have put themselves in. I've yet not found the perfect Spacefaring open world game of any time; NMS surely isn't, and probably could be.
seeing as there are only 4 galaxy types in the game i think another galaxy type would be nice, such as a corrupted/atlantid/abyssal galaxy with more dissonant planets and such
also, having ||autophage|| space stations appear only when you equip an upgrade to your starship scanner, much like the one for your multitool scanner, in dissonant/abandoned systems would be cool aswell, i think that the ||autophage|| would benefit from becoming an actual faction with space stations and such rather than just being found at tiny outposts

day 11 of asking for ground up starships and more weapons and armors for freighters, make them more customizable, all starships, and give us like a freighter base version of the colossus (not exact but i have an idea for an update that id love to see but cant fit into a single message and have too much HW tonite to write it out)
also more than one biome in certain worlds, like for firey ones, its hotter and more barren at the equator of the planet, like a desert, but at the poles, its colder, almost like a slightly burnt livable planet, on rad ones, more rad at equator (more sun rays) and less at poles, make like deserts and icy areas on the parrafinium planets
- theres a mode in the terrain maniplator that is called restore, use that itll restore what you just did back to its og form of the terrain

Freighter building needs to be better optimized
I found out that you can build 16 levels and approximately 24x24 sections (some weird extended area quirks too that need to be fixed). Problem with that is once you go beyond 8 levels the game with crash and this is on PS5. Additionally I shouldn’t be accidentally planting plants on a level below the one I’m on (no visual as to that level)
I can tell everything is being rendered in a sort of bubble shape range around the player when it should only operate as such when flying outside of the building area. What it should render is no more than two levels below and above the player (w/ additional adjusting relative to any gaps created by the player) additionally some LODs would be nice to include instead of attempting to render the entire built section alongside everything in it at full quality also particle effects don’t always need to be rendered especially again when not in view
Also frame rates tank so it’s not just a fix to prevent crashing but to keep frame rates stable
I can only assume it’s worse on switch, PS4, Xbox One, Xbox One X, and Xbox series S (maybe better on Xbox series X but not by much)
I just want ship interiors, and a bit more space combat, some PvP, Guild, Alliance type things would be nice in some areas of space.
I feel ship interiors would be weird. With how hello games made ships and the inventory system I feel like it wouldn't work. And also ships are really small.

I have two suggestions.

Terraform barren planets similar like in Spore's space stage: there are some starship technology: the Atmosphere Generator, it deploys a machine that makes the atmosphere for the planet (you have to be close to the planet though) the Heat Beam (it raises the temperature of the planet) and the Cold Beam (lowers the temperature of the planet), the Rain Cloud Generator, the atmosphere generator, but it makes a rain cloud, which increases the water level.

An item similar to the Bone Meal in Minecraft, and the ability to get seeds of the planet's native flora: There would be a material you can make called a Fertilizer, it requires something like Phosphorus and Faecium in the refiner. It grows the plants that are native to the planet you are on. You can also have a chance of getting a "[PLANT NAME] Seed" while harvesting a plant. This allows you to grow the plant in the Hydroponic Tray, to get a source of the materials that the plant gives you, in case you need them.

As long as they don't lock content behind multiplayer guilds/etc, sure. Nothing more annoying that forced multiplayer when I don't want it. Not to mention it would screw Switch players over.
Also, there are player created guilds and alliances already.
I mean, it stands to reason updates will eventually stop. But as for HG's NMS plans post-2024, no one really knows.

Settlements have additional building option to build farm plots from players choice of plant they had scanned and it can be grown on ground not limited to biodome or hydroponic tray
Also animal enclosure building to keep the animals we have discovered/tamed
- Refiners should cost power to run
- There should be a way to automatically load and unload refiners
- Electromagnetic hotspots should have a less generous power cap
- Mineral and gas hotspots should not be infinite
I think there should be difficulty settings to tweak most of this stuff, and expanding the supply depot / pipe system to refiners would be cool

A new aggressive sentient alien species that are half organic, half mechanic, and are more powerful than pirates and interceptors. You can get random space encounters with their freighters and they attack your freighter if its there. They infiltrated the atlas' simulation and wreak havok upon the galaxies and may be found attacking atlas-related structures.

Came up with this idea in general so before I forget.
A new space port (not replacing the anomaly),even larger and a place for players to gather with their freighters. I propose that this also brings new features for freighters, such as contracts. The player would accept a contract with their freighter, and have to travel to a system or place to deliver the payload. The design for this could be a very large open plan space port, where freighters dock and there’s a central area for contracts and other things, possibly shops like the space anomaly?
Also as a sort of “maybe” request. Freighter fleets so that players can have multiple freighters, and these can be sent out on these contracts while your capital ship remains available at all times.
For me it seems like the same kind of "contract" could be done using frigates instead
I don't really see the point of sending your capital ship with all its content (base, starships, utilities) on a such a voyage which directly forces HG into letting people have more freighters to compensate for sending one
Many late game players do not engage with frigate expeditions anymore because they don't wanna spend minutes sorting out through loot, so this "contract" idea could be a viable alternative use
That is exactly the reason I don't sent frigates out much anymore. If I'm not trying to rank one up, it's just a hassle.

yeah exactly. added npc’s, houses and even the idea of more land vehicles or industrial vehicles like a huge drivable miner to collect ore, business and shops (like ur own trade center with items to sell and u pick a price), more intractable or research like science to know the gravity strength, even maybe satellites for a planet to connect to multiple players at once to make playeys able to make towns too or be apart of ones all over a planet
the new game they’re making i know it’s based on one planet that’s the size of actual earth. i’m thinking they’ll take those ideas they mash together from no man sky to that game to maybe bring the newer ideas back into no man sky for the planets itself
it’ll be cool for each planet to feel like its own server when you actually take the minute to explore the options
but then you realize it’s an endless world with endless possibilities with no rights of wrongs but just options. they could also use AI for autogenerated missions even if it’s collect items, delivery mission across diff star systems, illegal trading and maybe a type of galactic federation thatll add a new set of combat on land, atmospheric vehicles like air planes for planets only but the catch is you can carry more then 1 player but in a planet, not in space
it also would be cool to see some planets with civilizations that hasn’t made it passed the great filter? evidence of dead civilizations with unknown race or even living unknown races out there to find on planets. it’ll make them think an alien showed up and u could leave it be, destroy it, or help them make it into space.

There is actually lore in-universe explaining why the everyone is so scattered about in small groups.
Also, remember the Switch port exists. MP and settlements are one thing, but unlikely that HG would introduce graphic intensive updates that would alienate the Switch player base. They've already pulled a lot of strings to make sure we don't get left out (ex: offline Nexus and a non-settlement version of Trace of Metal).
Also, I've seen reports that the earlier Xbox and PS4s are also having trouble sometimes. So anything technically complex would probably affect that too.
I love the game, tbh the only thing I wish there was in the game are cities in certain systems that also act like player hub. Almost like the ones in star citizen.

Curiosity killed the cat here but given how games like death stranding and RE4 remake are now on iPhone (specifically the 15 Pro) I’m curious if HG is making a version for that not saying they should or shouldn’t but if it’s in the pipeline
(RE4 runs at 400p upscaled to the phones resolution of 2556 × 1179 with Apple’s AI upscaled Metal FX and deathstranding at 300p with Metal FX both target 30 fps)
(Or slightly less of an upscale resolution; similar to what would be equivalent of 900p on a 16:9 screen)

We need to be able to buy the larger freighters as part of the fleet. As there’s no hangar bay, they’d be great for extra storage, or perhaps a new design for large battle cruisers? Those frigates are small, we need to be able to have something bigger in the mix <3

no mans sky is the crazy sandbox game. Looking at the hell divers 2, no man's sky could incorporate that kind of gameplay with a single update. Just need to make more aggressive and combat intelligent creatures and send players to such creature infested planets to complete a certain objective from Nexus. That sort of gameplay loop is pretty easy in nms . they need to improve the gunplay and player movement also the fauna ai a little.the robot spiders in the game already has better ai that the fauna ai can be replicate that

I don't think NMS needs to be like every new game that comes out. after NMS being out so long, it's pretty obvious that it's got a mostly relaxed vibe, with optional difficulty that never has a high skill ceiling
BUT, corrupt robot swarms with a time limit, and some objectives DOES sound like a sick expedition
A super aggressive sentinel planet with a brand new save would hard as hell
I hangout in extreme weather constantly haha I'm always stacked with batteries because Ferrite and Cobalt are easier to get
When I first played I had no idea how to make batteries (I never looked) so I did that all the time, it did help me enjoy roaming a planet just to relax though
One building part that would be fun, is portable turrets, that you put ammo in. If they didn't trigger sentinels, I could build a safe base on an agressive sentinel planet and not hide inside all the time
Could make agressive planets trigger swarms on your bases, so it's another optional difficulty. "If you want base swarms, build on agressive sentinel planets."
Oh it's just an idea. I've only been on 1 aggressive planet that actually made it a challenge to get around.

A cool addition would be some hologram floors, that you can turn on and off the collision with wires
although most holograms don't collide so that might not make sense in the world

in elite dangerous your ship has a FA and if you disable it you will coast in space freely, but enable it and you'll stop

I'd love to see gas giants added, however, it'd be difficult to make them add play value to the game because you can't land on them.
Unless there are sky bases that are already generated and that you can build sky bases too and if the gas giants have unique weather and lifeforms.

i wonder if HG have tested out allowing NPCs to spawn and free roam across planets. I assume there could be issues with that, but if they haven’t, I can’t imagine why.
just imagine scenarios such as a lone wanderer sitting by a fire in the entrance of a cave, and during the day you could find him in a nearby forest foraging. He could be peaceful or hostile depending on how you interact
hope that, if this kinda stuff never makes it to NMS, it does make it to LNF
they could certainly spawn NPCs in the same way they spawn creatures. the probably harder part is giving them directed goals and not just being background scenery for the player
right, that’s where i assume they’d have issues. If the NPCs behaved like fauna, they’d look pretty…dumb. haha

Console players cant min max ships quick now when tech modules dupe glich has been fixed. I hope HG will bring it back. End game player dont have much to do except minmaxing hunted ships. Im not the kind of person to ask someone for moded items. Im on console and it killed my intrest to play the game totaly atm. i dont minmax much but knowledge of not been able to when i find cool ship kills it. Legit minmaxing just takes too long with rng. Its good that i knew about dupe fix after the completing the expedition. Otherwise i would had motivation issues to get it done. Again update content for long time players is underwhelming. HG should fix puting stuff in others backpacks instead of duping.

You can still dupe other items, just not tech.
Duping is a core feature of the game, I only still play so I can help people and dupe some of my extra stuff for them.

I'm hoping there'll be a combat update in the future. Like actual weapons and blasters instead of multitools. I'd feel better with a laser rifle or something instead of a second multitool that's just there for attacking.

well i mean i didnt like the way duping currently exists for some of the materials that arent very hard to find like gold copper etc, my issue is with the things that require days of time to farm, tech modules being one of them along with literally all of the living ship upgrades.
itd be so nice if there was like a biogenesis machine and a manufacturing plant where you can give it a sample of the living ship upgrade or tech module you want more of as a sacrifice in order to create more with other materials like "dang i really need more of X thing"
gives to machine -> breaks it down -> lists required materials needed to craft it -> prints the upgrade/grows the organ
this would remove the nonsense fix the duping problem and fit within the universe

Sivert beans protect you in radiation etc.etc. you could also diverse it more with adding time . Higher tier/quality product protects you for longer.
Also related to food, they could dive fully into the idea of personal refiners and introduce a Personal Refiner Mk III, which would have a separate slot for cooking. There’s a chance that this would also come with an additional third refiner slot, though that’s unlikely, or would better serve as a Mk IV (or it would be the Mk III and the cooking would be for Mark IV.) This would serve as a really neat quality of life feature, as since we can refine things ourselves wherever we are, why not be able to live your Chef lifestyle from anywhere as well, instead of having to head to a base or your freighter just for a Nutrient Processor.

Make the staffs fit a smaller niche? Give us proper sheilding instead of a bluerasberry dorito. Maybe force us to stay stationary while we project it at the benefit of near total protection

Also god, cooking effects really needs an overhaul in general. They're all just so boring, idk start somewhere like eating a haunted cookie adds a filter on my screen for a minute. Just silly stuff

There is no reason to have food crafting that complex. No game loop. You can only sell it, give it away , give 1 by 1 to cronus for nanites, or eat it yourself.

Game needs in-game guilds/clan. Think they could implement star system ownership that way
Imagine if you could recruit freighters like you do frigates and set their post at star systems your guild owns.
Could have a "power level" based on all of the freighters committed to that star system. Rival guilds can take over only if they have higher score
Takeover can only occur once every 2 weeks/month
If a guild member is online and within the star system, power level goes up respectively, this would mean that when a guild is close to taking over, guild members are incentivised to come online and fight any other guild members that may be there
Also, players should be able to sell multitools and items at their settlements
I can't believe I'm saying this, but add more appearance slots to put characters in. I see room for three more without having to add a scroll bar.

I think the game still needs one more major update, ala NEXT, Atlas Rises and so on. We need some underlying system to tie everything together, like fleets, settlements, bases, so on.
The player eventually, naturally encounters every major system in the game. But fleets and settlements have nothing to do with each other. I think that station ownership could tie into all of that. You become the overseer of a system, and your fleet protects that system as you build it up to fight against the Atlas.
You can follow the path of the titans, or the path of glass, or have nada and polo help you create your own path. Maybe as you progress down the atlas path and come to understand it, you can return home with your new knowledge and... I dunno. But it would tie all of these other story threads together as well.

I got a couple homes there that are essentially just empty shells
HG lost in my eyes today. First they fix duping tech modules (we could not trade them anyway so it didint ruin others experiance and PC players will use save editor anyway). So console players and me cant play nim-maxing without spending Fton amount of time.
Then ALL my wonder records on main save where deleted after finishing expedition and going back to main save. Its like THE WORST UPDATE so far for me. Records would be safe and would be fine IF HG DIDINT REMOVE MANUAL SAVES!!! i could just reload save then.
Add quasars ! They would teleport us to a random galaxy rather then teleport with in system and it would add additional flair to space travel
I wish the ship scanners could find particular items, like for example Fungal Clusters, or a particular mineral deposit. So much time is wasted just kind of wandering around trying to find specific resources

It's kinda wild that we just can't make / grow the other plants in the game. Took me like 1k hours to notice but it's strange, should really be added. I also made this on a chrome book, I ain't putting any more effort into it, those chrome books are awful
Localized weather that slowly forms, travels the planet, gaining speed or sometimes lingering around and then dissipates. Should also be able to see it from space. They would last longer than current storms since these storms can move which means you can do some storm chasing to get storm crystals.
Which other plants? After 1k hours you still don’t have access to decorative plants, trees, grass, cave vines? Stuff like that is possible in the game already.

I have more than dozen of bases on my save but none go beyond 3000 part limit so i dont know how much parts i actualy used.
Part counter for curent base should be displayed always when placing parts so i would know how much i still have unitl hit the 16k limit

Not just those plants but all the basic ones in general, it's fine having to get them the first time but not every time
And ofc they need to add fertilizers to speed up growing time

I get you, but those plants are dedicated to cooking meanwhile the other ones are primarily for crafting. I guess it would be nice but cooking is already high effort / low reward tbh
Anyway just here to say, would be nice if there was some way to improve first person exocraft camera to be more like starships. It's impossible to face anywhere but forward when fighting sentinels in a minotaur
I really wish the co-op multiplayer system wasnt complete jank. Especially on combat related missions, ill be playing with others and shoot at a sentinel ground unit or even interceptor, and the hit will just refuse to register and the enemy will be completely unaffected by all my attacks, while continuing to shoot at me.
I'm sure it's been suggested but it would be really cool to see melee combat expanded upon now that we have staffs. And why not throw lightsabers into mix while you're at it? I would think this might need to come with new enemies to fight but even if not it would be pretty exciting to see.
I'd love to eventually see multiple backpacks & freighters be a thing.
Like, just a single one more of each would be great, & we could tie additional ships/frigates to the extra freighter & extra multitools to the new backpack.
With all of the new ships and multitools available to us now, it's getting kind of impossible to keep all of our faves on one save, so we may need this change sooner rather than later at this rate.
More melee options are actually mentioned in the game. I remember I interacted with a Vykeen and it mentioned the Vykeen having something called a Multisword
