Free food is free food
I have a random complaint
I've had to switch to gluten free options because of my husband's tummy situation
Gluten free noodles ruin leftover spaghetti
eheu
It's fine fresh
But my favorite is leftover ā¹ļø
I normally use spinach noodles
I always make spaghetti in the right doses so I don't remember the last time I had leftover spaghetti
I guess leftover is the wrong word, I make it and let it sit for a day in the fridge. I do that with some rice recipes as well.
Noodles made from veggies n greens taste yummy
I had shawarma today, was yum
Unfortunately the options available to me still had wheat in them, so no veggie noodles for me until I find a new brand
Never had shawarma
This is gonna be some heresy but I prefer the shawarma on wrap over the normal pita bread
its amazing
It's a pita wrap but y'know not the round bread
As long as mine doesn't have onions, I'll try it
Can't have it without the garlic sauce tho
ugh they're so important in there tho
that's just heresy
or gluten š
We have gluten free pita wraps
i'm sorry
Have to have them or it can cause a lot of damage to my husband :[
I like him more than wheat
stronk lub
:[ sad
Dairy is so good
I still eat some dairy products but there's stuff I changed
I can't give up on a good yoghurt once in a while lol
Yeah, I've pretty much just shifted my whole diet. We can't afford to get both, so obviously gluten free was the only option
Yogurt is yum
Actually that's probably the only Dairy product I consume
I use banana almond milk, so lactose free
I stopped drinking normal milk before even decided to abandoning some lactose products
Yea we drink almond milk too
Shawarma is fucken bussing
had my first gyro and now I canāt stop going to this food truck
fries on top kinda covered the goods but I was too hungry to get a good pic
Never had a Gyro
still cant pronounce gyro right either
me neither for the longest time but I figured Iād try it out and holy moly
the g is like your combining g with h
y is like eeeee
and r has a slight roll
o is O
lol the guy was trying to walk me through it last time and i felt very americanš
my dumb accent
i wonder if i can post a voice recording in here
Mouth is for eating it
hahaha thats what Iāve defaulted for
I don't want to puke on my food
So no onions :>
:[
onions 5ever
But why
I'm just gonna get some pita bread, meat, cheese, some sorta sauce I like, n peppers and call it good
olives
I'm not sure if I like olives
I tried them, they were meh, but I haven't tried them on or in something
some are pretty intense and are better on their own
if you ever see a whole section of different kinds in separate containers at a grocery, i recommend testing a few. the flavors are pretty diverse
i feel like i mentioned that before
Alright, I think the ones I had were basic black olives, they were just sittin out with a bunch of cheese n crackers
They just tasted like slightly sour n bitter water
yeah black olives compared to other olives is like comparing american cheese to every other amazing cheese that exists
i grew up eating a ton of black olives out of a can
āYouāre our most loyal customer, you come here everydayā -Aiden (McDonaldās employee)
So from this day on, Iām making my own food, itās going to suck cause I only know how to make basic eggs, Iāll post pics of the awful things I make
if you ever have any questions about how to get better at anything or fix anything just lemme know
I can help too but I do not have chef in my name so take that in mind
bri'ish life innit (not mine)
What's the black thing?
i think a british person would allege that it is sausage
or black pudding
Black pudding is a distinct regional type of blood sausage originating in the United Kingdom and Ireland. It is made from pork or beef blood, with pork fat or beef suet, and a cereal, usually oatmeal, oat groats or barley groats. The high proportion of cereal, along with the use of certain herbs such as pennyroyal, serves to distinguish black pu...
lol half of a homemade oreo gone wrong
That's a strange pudding
We have something like that in georgia
ŠŗŃŠ¾Š²ŃŠ½Š°Ń ŠŗŠ¾Š»Š±Š°ŃŠ°
i have enjoyed a good English breakfast, but i was never sure about the baked beans flavor and presentation-wise
or putting hp brown sauce on everything
brown sauce is desgoost
yeah meh
nice bunt cake
Why does it share two lol
it needs a friend
this looks like something we call "scrapple"
I don't miss scrapple that much
what about head cheese š
Haven't had that in about a year or two
I want the carrots
i want that one larger p o tato
We call those sonhos (literally: dreams) here. I love them, have them a lot during Christmas season.
I used just canned biscuit dough, somehow never considered how many other things it can make
You live in Philly?
East coast
Scarpple looks immensely better than this
Scrapple sounds like the spam equivalent of bubble and squeak
In other words I want it
I did my first degree at Penn State, used to have a slice of scrapple everytime we went to the Amish breakfast place some weekends
cheap food for poor students š
I mean I regularly had monkfish, creme brulee flights, some real good snapper, and double roasted chickens there too. Even had one of my favorite dishes ever, Horse Nigiri drizzled with a modified version of Unagi sauce
at an amish restaurant?
oh no ha, those were at other places
the amish place was basically a breakfast buffett we usually hit up on a weekend when we headed to a friends place
A friend from Philly told me that everyone there knows scrapple, and they start and end sentences with "yo".
So you only had one of two conditions met.
š
Worth a shot...
yo
I had someone on the street here ask me
"Yo, can you spare a dollah, yo?"
I turned slowly, anticipation bubbling over, and asked,
"Are you from Philly?"
He lost his mind lol.
"Yo! How'd you know that, yo?"
i had a boss from philly
Food
I've just been reminded about the unfortunate existence of jellied eels
Apparently they taste good but they're not appetising
If it's too gross to put here tell me to remove it lol
Fortunately not my picture
Egg? Or seafood?
They used to be one of the most eaten things in the UK
They're still very popular in London. In the North they get served with pie and mash with a green watery sauce called "liquor"
Fruity Pebbles donut
will send you my address if you ship from the US to the US
me too
What is the filling
plate holder
There isn't really any filling. But there's cocoa puffs in them because I was curious what would happen
It doesn't add much to the flavor. Tiny bit of chocolate flavor, and crunch. Not a terrible idea
The margherita pizza is off of the secret menu located in an eatery in one of the outermost suburbs of my city.
Also, I just found out that the sauce is 100% homemade! That's why it tastes extremely nice.
Step one
Marg look v nice
Yum
Step four
What's that?
chicken parmesan?
Pasta looks really good
Ah that's chicken?
Wonton noodle soup is dinner to fuel my endless grind trying to find the right settlement to be overseer of
yeah chicken parm with butter rosemary pasta
Ah looks nice, now gib
heh
Y'all americans have fancy plates
i'm sure there are fancy plates in georgia
No
We basic white plates
Also some soviet ones
Wrong channel
HA!
"Dog food"?
Is that for the crust?
š
kekw
Jokes aside looks great
i had some leftover loaf of sourdough miche and blitzed it then added salt/pepper/reggiano
Very nice
diskustang
Hey we did baked spaghetti and meatballs with garlic bread too cause like most of the world does spaghetti and garlic bread of some sort
That really looks delicious.
va fa napoli
10/10 would eat
Old traditions of every Italian family I've ever met and had the privilege of eating a meal with. "Dinner / Pasta isn't a meal without bread" Its almost like a religious thing for some of them. Love Italian food so much
pane e vita
yes it is š
Man I miss having spaghetti
Was the garlic bread a storebought and baked kinda thing or was it handmade?
mine was homemade
Oh hell yeah
stuff goes fast so I got to make two at a time
@stoic estuary where are you that you can't get spaghetti or make it yourself?
Well I can get the stuff easy enough but I can't cook anything at home because the kitchen's in too bad a condition
Fresh, juicy pasta.
That looks really good buy why is it in a box...?
recycleable takeaway container
everyone should switch to cardboard
enough of this unrecyclable plastic and styrofoam bullshit.
See I like it conceptually (recyclable is the way to go) but I wonder about issues with like, leaking and such
Since cardboard tends to not be liquid-proof
now a issue really if the boxes are waxed
Most of the containers here are paper now
Today I got this rice cake and it confused me. It is neither sweet nor savory. It is very bland with a very very slight hint of bean flavor.
First time trying it and feel like I might be missing something as to how it's eaten or enjoyed the best way?
Tonights dinner Korean inspired chicken noodles and rice cake
Maybe it's supposed to be eaten with something else, or some kind of sauce?
It did seem a touch very slight sweeter after eating something spicy but still very underwhelming in its flavor by itself
made a vegan desert plate for my gf(the meringues arenāt vegan but I love them and Iām not vegan)
Iāve seen vegan meringue being made on television
Itās weird
First time I clicked on this channel and i was like, is this where people get high and share weed thoughts about No Man's Sky. Wrong. Lul.
that I think would make much more sense if the channel name was No-Mans-Bake Cause fry usually always indicated an entirely different form of substance where I'm from.

Cheese ones with roasted butternut squash, bok choy greens and turmeric miso broth
Hearty
One message removed from a suspended account.
What's the green stuff?
Bok Choy greens that were wilted in the broth
ah nice
I've...never heard anyone refer to being high as getting fried/roasted. Baked, wasted, zooted, sure, but not those two.
let's discuss food in the food channel

Chicken Parm over rice is dinner!
Looks tasty
i also wish you had bleu cheese for it š
how was the steak
Where is my bleu cheese >:[
Tbh just alright, kind of chewy
Cutting the rest of it up n stickin it in fried rice later
My dog wants it but I told him no
Yeah, gonna use the steak teriyaki sauce n broth instead of water to flavor the rice, fry up some eggs, meat is currently marinating in the sauce
Poor husband doesn't get any since I accidentally used regular soy sauce
We have gluten free, wasn't paying attention
Gluten free soy sauce actually tastes better
Japanese soy sauce is normally made without wheat
It was a pain in the butt finding some
might be called Tamari instead
With so many different soy sauces and soy sauce products on the market, it's hard to know which one to choose. People often ask what is the difference between regular soy sauce and tamari? We explain just that.
Yeah that's what we have
Only one place sells it here, need to remember to get some more next time we're out
Maggi
I use this since I has soy allergy
hmm is that similar?
I cooked bacon and eggs
i only see two eggs and some pale flabby things
That is back bacon
eggs ~
You dusted the wets
Eg
I don't know what that means
Looks like you put someoneās insides on a plate, but is probably good
the fry is mine
So TLDR: 2020 kicked my butt physically and financially, so I moved back in with my parents to save on money cause rent is crazy
(Plan: Use this next 12 months to get out of student debt and save up for the down payment on my own place)
but...cooking is my relaxation...my meditation
however, coming from an Indian family, my mom cooks everything for me and it's driving me nuts
finally got the chance to cook my own food (that is, non-Indian) and made it for them as a thank you, but also for my own sanity
Yum
Thai-style Massaman Curry (with chicken, potatoes, carrots, celery, cilanto, and green onion) and Vietnamese style Fried Spring Rolls (with shrimp, cabbage, and green onions) with two types of dipping sauce (spicy and normal versions of Nuoc Cham, the lime/vinegar chili fish sauce)
I'm quite proud cause I haven't cooked a proper feast in a long while (due to finances, spine injury, and depression)
My family didn't know I could do such things cause they only just hear about it (I lived 7 hours away)
Know the feeling of doing something you enjoy after a bout of depression, it's pretty great. The food looks great š
Very!
Been on and off with depression dips for a long while, and things were really getting better in 2019
a ton better
covid ruined everything
cause of quarantine, things got very mentally unstable and my best friend and I got in a huge fight and haven't talked since
I had a fantastic job in my field (dream job stuff) lined up and the position was liquidated cause covid shutdowns
and then I broke three discs in my cervical spine and was paralyzed for a while
I didn't think I could do worse than the time my ex-fiance called off the wedding and I ended up homeless...but we have a contender for worst year of my life
but I'm determined to make 2021 not be shit
Also, thanks! My family all went back for second. My dad even got thirds, which is very unlike him.
I wish I made the curry more complex, but I wasn't sure about my family's preferences and kept it neutral.
I think next time it needs more greens and a second starchy root veggie
maybe some peppers also
spinach, parsnips, red peppers, and zucchini maybe
since going away for school and work, my parents' diets have gotten pretty bad
they don't eat as much veggies when they eat for themselves, sadly
nor protein
sorry for wall of text
I only just moved back a week and some ago and I've been stressed
Sorry for being REALLLY late but it's a fresh pasta takeout place. Glad it doesn't impact the flavor in any way.
@dusky solstice words that make me reee
Marscapone
And chipolte
Olive Garden vs my local trattoria
I'm guessing the Olive Garden is the top one?
No, it's the bottom one. Get it right.
š
That looks so disgustingly greasy.
I made a Buffalo chickān patty and put it in a wrap with vegan Mayo Dill Ranch, lettuce, Tomato, Onion and garlic sauce.
For me I made Gnocchi Infused chicken skewers by marinating chicken in a mason jar of Chicken Gnocchi soup with carrots string beans onions, table spoons of adobo, garlic, paprika, Cajun, and black pepper powder for two days. It was amazing.
Bowl of fresh rigatoni with pesto and mushrooms from the same pasteria as before, but in a different container.
I would probably also be amazed if I ate that too!
Oh that looks really good
That looks amazing
I can't post pics but I just made some bacon and eggs a while back and damn it was good. Applewood smoked bacon mmmm
mmmmmm
Made these cinnamon donuts a few days ago
they must be hard as a rock about now
glad it didnt go to waste
those are some perty dough nuts
Made banana bread and muffins
Muffins had sugar and cinnamon on them, as well
Sprinkled terribly but it just wouldn't stick
Home made pork wontons and meatball soup is dinner to fuel my expedition adventures
I added Szechuan chili oil to it
Touch it, bring it, pay it, watch it. Turn it, leave it, start - format it.
Burgers are dinner tonight
thick
Breakfast for today: Cheesy leftover steak with gravy, scrambled eggs, and spiced apple black tea (off-screen).
stop youāre making me hungry but goddddf that looks so good
megaprotein keto bomb
good beefy breakfast morning
This healthy cake is light, airy and melts in your mouth. Itās like eating a cloud. It's a low calorie dessert that is just 2 ingredients. It's easy to make and doesn't require baking. It also doesnāt need any flour, eggs, butter, oil or added sugar. Itās a fun and unique cake to try.
check this out @tawny musk
Nom
Is that sausage?
dialing now
ok
dang now i want a breakfast sandwich
wish i could get some pork roll āround these parts
Made some burgers and fries
?
@dusky solstice wanted to run something by you
@tired stump yeah?
@tired stump I gotta head out in about 5 minutes so I'll answer when I get back in about 2hrs if I don't here from you by then
brown butter alfredo sauce with an egg yolk stabilizer/emulsifier
so... just brown butter alfredo?
yeah but since i am breaking down the butter from the solids, how to stabilize
i figured egg yolk
unless the cream is enough
there is no cream in it
maybe go about a meatless Carbonara using brown butter
sorta combine the diea
idea*
So make the brown butter, then let it cool a little bit, then whisk it into the yolk and cheese and then toss the pasta with it
yeah that was where my head was going, meatless carbonara ish
i was wondering that
make the brown butter, then toss the cooked pasta in and mix about, then add the cheese and mix
then some of the still hot pasta cooking water
should emulsify just fine still
yeah the cream would, but traditionally you don't use cream in an alfredo or carbonara anyways
That came about from NJ/NY Italian-Americans as a way to feed construction workers cheaper
and heavier meals
First off, I love you for using peas. That was traditional in the region my family was from.
Second off, I think the cream might be the issue
I really like the idea of doing brown butter carbonara style though, that probably would work very well
Yeah not bad
Grabbed some takeout for a late lunch
https://cdn.discordapp.com/attachments/490730970215874560/888235161500663868/IMG_20210916_1527547132.jpg

Now I want Chinese or teriyaki takeout but getting any kind of food is an hour long trip š©
So....plain rice n eggs again today
and soy sauce
Nup
Just cooked the rice in unsalted chicken broth
Personally skipped eggs, but made some for the hub, added a Lil extra cheddar bean mix for his rice
Yum
why does that look like school lunch but its actually good
I wish I had spicy katsu and pork with teri chicken for school lunch
š
Pretty sure they make the kimchi there too
oh wow
i have been eating grilled cheeses for weeks because i can't find the strength to do anything else š
i can feel the lack of nutritional value settling in
add in some spinach to your grilled cheeses
sir
you have done it
i may or may not actually exit my apartment today to seek out some spinach
nice
quite unlikely actually but still
thereās hope

good looking sandwich
Thanks babe, I made another one just now
Only thing that's missing is you
that looks tasty
Oyster sauce broccoli and chicken is dinner. Inspired by a Chinese dish but added my own twists to it.
That looks wicked!
š¤¤
Someone just gave me a sack of home made pasteles.
My version of teriyaki chicken is lunch today homemade goodness
very nice
Very professional
pro-fresh-ional
š„
I love that bowl
it quickly became my our favorite serving dishes as we found matching plates, bowls and ramen bowls too.
why do store-bought Tikka Masala and Korma sauces suck so bad?
On a related note, I love this brand of garam masala spices, if you don't want to deal with mixing your own.
And if you're only using powders you're missing out.
https://m.media-amazon.com/images/I/91WgukuFikL._SL1500_.jpg
i havenāt tried that many and need to give some others a shot
yeah powders probably are half as good
what sauce brands do you guys recommend?
I'll look at the one my dad uses, it's decent and easy enough to bump up. Their butter chicken he usually uses but needs to make a quick chili oil first to add heat
this is the most common one that i usually get
That one I find good for a quick lazy one, just make a chili oil first if you want more heat, and let it simmer awhile to develop
good idea
sanku
Uwekkumu
We get that here, it's a really old mainstream brand but it's a bit on the sweet side and the spices don't taste right
I'm with the person with the garam masala
And never be ashamed to buy spice mixes
Aunties do that shit all the time and lie about it
agreed
i just broiled some andouille sausage and my downstairs looks like someone set off a smoke bomb
My version of Mapo Tofu with extra mala seasoning. This is lunch
@tired stump there is a thing called white bolognese
But it has marinara in it
bolognese and alfredo both don't have marinara in it
That looks delish, Smoosh
Thanks
Well I used red sauce cream Parmesan and ground beef
Can we call it smoosh sauce
sure
Awesome I invented a thing
Google calls it ācreamy tomato beef sauceā which sounds gross
So I will call it smoosh sauce
smooshy sauce
Dinner is my version of Mapo Tofu with extra Szechuan mala pepper powder
same as lunch?
Yeah but added way more Szechuan peppercorn powder š
Working on this recipe to get it down to where I'm happy with it so my poor wife has to sit through multiple meals of the same thing but with small changes š
A cookie is a cookie
RIP butthole @molten crypt
Dinner
Yo! Where are our cookies?!?!
I see them baked but I have no cookie in my hand
They're coming, don't worry. Just gotta wait. And make some
And invent teleportation
Replying to an old message but it happened to be on screen when I opened the channel... That's the same brand we buy for butter chicken. Their sauces are really good.
Random breakfast
Your making me hungry. However, I have never eaten a breakfast in 29 years.
you havenāt missed breakfast in 29 years or you havenāt had breakfast in 29 years
wait didnāt you have a pancake recently?
thatās breakfast
or you just for some reason canāt eat in the morning
so many questions
I love breakfast, even in the middle of the night.
š
breakfast all day every day
Not my cooking unfortunately.
š
Just takeout from a local place.
i was born behind the counter of a waffle house, the first thing i touched was the greasy, floor and i melded with it
i merely adopted the grease...you were born in it
agreed
fuckkkkkkkkkkkk
What's a good use for sweet relish for someone that doesn't like sweet relish?
Mix it into a sour sauce maybe
My version of Oyster Sauce stir fried chicken and veggies with Jasmine rice is dinner. My wife is happy I finally stopped making Mapo Tofu š
As are we
I love this
@wet elm I think you have to talk enough for awhile to earn the permissions
Thatās like normal noodles with pelmeni and the Russian sausage (idk whatās itās called)
Ain't that called the Doctors sausage
Pillsbury cinnamon rolls with an apple cinnamon syrup I made for them
Had a little mishap with the brown sugar though so it had too much. Still really good though. Just super extra sweet
Hell no
potatopalooza
I actually really love those small ones
I ran out of the big ones and then decided to just throw a bunch of smol ones in there for good measure
I like everything on that plate haha
I'm so hungry
Gimmie
crispy!
holy shit, I just realized you have a Finex!
soooooo envious
next time you find some pocket change, can you buy me a lamborghini?
lol
I forgot to take a picture but dessert was local pound cake with macerated strawberries and mascarpone whipped cream
Does it have eggs
Nah, it's just regular alfredo
Except it's at breakfast time
Also quinoa noodles

Tbh makes sense to eat the heavier meal first
Next meal will be soylent drink
Then an egg or two with some green beans for Din
Don't like the idea of meal replacements but enjoy š
It's banana cream
I can only have 1200 calories tops a day so everything is rather light
the soylent drinks help with making sure I'm getting some vitamins n stuff
I'm also not great with variety, I'm very repetitive n simple with food
I have some silly gummy vitamins I take as well
wth is a quinoa noodle

Can't have wheat
it's danger

sealy ack
Was inspired to make a Korean style kimchi stew
looks delicious

time to put some kimchi in my miso ramen
My lunch today!
Pamboza!
Pictures pretty spot on with how the restraunt prepared it oo.
sorta messy with the red sauce on the fried bread, but sooooo light and perfect
Bucatini carbonara with chicken.
Chow mein
Good luck!
@hidden quail Reverse sear method is fool proof if it big enough
I've decided to try basting it, not sure if it's the most beginner friendly but I've already committed haha

Basted it and used garlic and rosemary
Looks good
Thanks!
Nice
Chicken Cajun sausage and shrimp gumbo for dinner tonight! This is the one thing I like about living in Louisiana... You can't beat our food lol.
There the whole meal lol. That potato salad is the best I ever had. Friend's wife really knows how to cook! 𤤠𤤠š¤¤
Forgot to mention she puts peeled boiled eggs in the gumbo while it's cooking.
Why is this a thing š
Because it's really good! lol
Cool
huh never heard of that, sounds good
Made zuppa Toscana tonight :D
Man that looks good
Beautiful, one for me and one for you
Sure
Also why does the pic always look like shit on Discord
From the gallery
I do this too!
It's sooooooo gooood
I have also added canned corn š®
Oh nice
Mustard cabbage?
Barbacoa taco with arugula, fried potatoes, habanero salsa, and queso fresco that I whipped up at my restaurant for the daily special
Never had tacos in my life - want to try, those look delicious š
That's crazy to think about, hopefully you will get to try some eventually. I eat on average probably ~20 tacos a week
Your taste buds have not truly lived yet
que lastima
I made Beef Fajitas with yellow bell peppers, grilled onions, habaneros and quesadia queso on home made tortillas
looks great. that's a handful!

Seriously. Gonna have to priority mail codevasco some of these homemade corn tortillas and ingredients
Gonna do a stir fry
Nice and easy
Soy sauce and hoy sin, with some garlic and a bit of ginger I think

I just ate one of the best T-bone steaks that I've had in years. I should have taken a picture before it was demolished.
Nothing fancy. But I made an Uncrustable like a grilled cheese
So. Grilled pb&j

Have you ever had Carne Guisada? Made some for lunch today
Can't say I have but it looks delicious
Lunch for today
ramen
Very nice
Happy thanksgiving to my fellow Canadians
Making the dirtiest makeshift thing I've ever made
A toasted cheese sandwich/ garlic bread hybrid
Will post update
@hidden quail people do those all the time, they can be real good
It was pretty good! Next time I'll make the bottom slice a bit thicker and scoop out some bread so I have more cheese I think
Since I used a baguette
What might work @hidden quail if you have a cheese that melts easy enough, is have your baguette, scoop some out, add the cheese. Then bake the halves. Then take out, batter and into the pan
I'll have to give that a go!
Low Country Shrimp and Grits
Breakfast
those look like hand made tortillas, great looking tacos. I love the metal plate too
Yep we make all our corn tortillas in house, good selling point as no Mexican places other than some food trucks or really small restaurants make their own in my city
very good selling point especially when the tacos look like that
apparently the big selling point here is for the flour tortillas to be made fresh, I like them but in no way do they come close to a good handmade corn tortilla imho
a place here called rolandos prides themselves in making a "Super Taco" with fresh hand made flour tortillas
can't roll it and call it a burrito so just fold it and call it a taco I guess š
That's a rather large taco š¤£
rolandos hacen rolados š¤£
except they are really dobladas lmao
petition for restaurant name change
Step one
Oooh
cookies
Step two
puddingā
iād put my face in it then dip in the cookie crumbs
very nice
I technically did give you that picture
send the cake through mail!
it is a speculoos cream pie with speculoos cookie crust
never heard of speculoos had to google it
then I scrolled up and saw Biscoff
Not widely used in the area's I've lived in but experienced them when on airplanes
that was when i was first exposed
Giiib

my crust skills need some improvement, the crust is way loose
Sir or Ma'am or Non-Binary Fam
I will eat it
and I will love it
and I will ask for more
probably needs more butter
it is very similar to a peanut butter pie but i won't be burping it up for half a day
welcome to the taco congregation
tuesday is our holy day
Taco Friday
The nachos I had with the tacos were middling, but did the trick
I should go buy a big bag of nachos
And guacamole
in usa nachos = baked/fried corn tortilla chips + toppings
that is what i inferred
I was curious because I've never heard of buying a bag of tortilla chips covered in melted cheese and toppings sold in a big bag. I WANT THIS but I've never seen nor heard of this anywhere
and where they originate from in Mexico but I suppose for most North America nachos are chips covered in cheese and toppings.
cheeeeeeeeeeeese
I always joke with my Wife who is from Mexico "Isn't most mexican food the following? Tortilla and Toppings?"
Taco - Tortilla and toppings
Nachos - Fried tortilla wedges and toppings
Burrito - Toppings rolled in a tortilla
Quesadilla - Tortilla grilled and folded with toppings inside
Etc etc etc >_<
i know what i'm getting the next time i go food shopping
which is what
some biscoff cookies?
looks like a cheesecake
it is a speculoos cream pie with speculoos cookie crust
never heard of it but sounds and looks good
i am enjoying it
speculoos or biscoff cookies are the ones you get on delta airline flights
ah right, don't even know if they do speculoos here lol
How can a small cookie taste so great? Lotus Biscoff cookies have a unique flavor, iconic shape, and a crunchy bite.
nice, i'll have to try some one day
Well if code can eat a taco then thereās hope for the rest of us
something else i'll have to try one day š
lol
Is making small pizzas with leftover spaghetti sauce a bad thing
Lmao
Don't think cookie sheets are supposed to do this. Two minutes into cooking
And moved my candle cuz having it on the hot stove is pretty dumb
Little bit crispy. Ignore the box
the crispier the yummier!
I decided it was a success when the CHEESE was crispy on top while I was cutting them

Same

sounds like all very well deserved recovery nomness
Despite my pan deciding in to not be useful lol
spaghetti sauce is less concentrated and less viscous and usually more chunky, none of which would have made it taste bad
opposite. Spaghetti sauce is more concentrated, thicker
sweeter usually too
we must be shopping at different stores
tbh i don't make my own sauce
Pizza sauce is usually just crushed tomato, some seasoning, and maybe some puree added
Spaghetti sauce is basically cooked down to develop out more flavors
a lot of the jarred pizza sauces are just spaghetti sauce with less seasoning and cooked down
regarding viscosity i would have to differ
All that said, while the purist hate the idea of cooked sauce on their pizza, it can be great
I would also differ on viscosity
While being cooked down the thickest aspect of my spaghetti sauce is usually tomato paste
Without adding a thickening agent its quite loose
Do you use traditional tomato paste or Italian triple?
the longer you cook the spaghetti sauce, the thicker it'll get
then again we also talking the American style Italian-American spaghetti sauces here
you don't see that much over in Italy
you see your oil ones, your fresh tomato ones, etc...
Its just traditional
traditional tomato paste is closer to tomato puree in viscosity
One can that you get in the store, with sauce and diced added in with the water in the diced
Those small cans of tomato paste that is really really thick, is Italian triple-concentrated
Yeah it a labeling thing the US doesn't take seriously
This is what the US thinks is normal tomato paste, but is Italian triple concentrated
This is a traditional tomato paste that used in much of the world. You can tell how it thicker than a puree, but not as thick as that other paste
what's nice about the traditional is that you have more margin of error for how much you adding, and you just cook it down even more3 if you want
Still tho the thickness has almost no effect on the final thickness of my spaghetti sauce regardless of if its traditional for Italy haha
All I was saying
So yeah prolly just a difference there
It also had ground beef in it
Go go carrots
Making tortellini with ham & cheese filling

I highly recommend this cheesecake recipe: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=j_QWpYYD09Q
I didn't like most of the cheesecakes I had in my life, but that one is simple to make, light in taste and texture, hard to screw up and lemon zest + raspberries are golden in that combination
my take on it was to make raspberries mush and mix it with this big "toothpick" stick thingy: https://cdn.discordapp.com/attachments/661205241500532769/710627069406609469/20200515_005344.jpg
Oh and I included raisins in this recipe - you need to take bag of raisins and...put them really far from the cheesecake, like out of the house or something
Bought a few root veg so I'll make soup
Kinda making this one up but I feel confident haha
