They are made up of not just different ratios, but different preparations. The cardamom might be toasted before ground, might be raw, might be a 3:1 ratio to the cumin (which also might be toasted or not)

so you have all those ingredients in it, then you add the mix to fine tune (or rather the other way around depending)

The lazy "ginger" broth is basically 3 parts chicken stock, 1 part soy sauce, up to 1 part shaoxing or mirrin, then as much ginger as I feel like adding and letting it simmer
