My cat is doing fine, he has cardiac problems and he’ll be taking meds for rest of his life, but he’s alive (and believe me, there was a moment when I was thinking that putting him to sleep will be our only option, so yeah - not fun :’ )) But he’s now at home, and I can get back to work with NMS comic. I can relate. I try to sketch the lines or I hold my breath while drawing a line to make it more smooth.

I used to make art with an old 2009 Wacom Bamboo drawing tablet and it didn’t feel natural at all. Later on I bought an iPad Pro with an Apple Pencil and it works so much better than the Bamboo tablet. I have more control over my pencil and it feels more intuitive. I think drawing tablets have improved a lot over the years. Not only for Apple’s iPad and Apple Pencil but also for brands like Wacom. Wacom has the Cintiq drawing tablet for example. Those things are a helluva(n) investment but totally worth it if you can afford it and are a digital artist.

This is the final version of my NMS avatar. I ditched my old WIP and created a new version of my drawing because there were a lot of inaccuracies. For my first attempt I did not have proper screenshots as a reference. The background here is a blurred version of a screenshot I took in the game. Yes I know about copyright stuff so you don’t have to tell me about this. I’m well aware of it but I’m not planning to make money out of this art anyways and usage of screenshots in your art is fine as long as you don’t make any profit from it. Same with NASA images btw.

I kinda have a question. First picture is a WIP I’m working on but after playing NMS again yesterday and meeting Artemis at the holo terminus I think I have been drawing Artemis too small. I realised, after standing next to them, that they are much taller than I thought 😵
What do you think? How tall do you think Artemis (and Apollo, Null and the Travelers at the anomaly) is/are?

Redoing a drawing because the proportions/scaling wasn’t right on my last one. Apparently Artemis is the Lady Demitrescu of No Man’s Sky haha, they’re very tall.

I will post both final versions though.

Also, I’m using a new drawing app called Art Studio Pro. It exists for iPad and desktop. I’d really recommend it because it might even beat Procreate and you don’t need a ridiculously expensive subscription to Photoshop or Clip Studio Paint.

It’s also excellent for line-art and comic making.

||Did you know that in the Greek myth there was a nymph called Daphne and Apollo was hitting on her.
We all know that the main characters of the NMS plot are named after Greek deities. In the Greek myth Artemis is Apollo’s sister.

Heavily edited shots have been allowed in here and in #nms-photomode-gallery and as it stands right now, I don't see a reason to change that. We can all discuss it though and if we change our minds, then we will be sure to clarify further rules for each channel.

The previously mentioned post that I requested be relocated, was a completely separate cutout from the game, in the fashion of a sticker or emoji.

I agree B and G being strong Contenders.

Imo it rests in the eyebrows a lot. F and G being thick and black communicate sternness leftover from that “warrior past” while still being a subtle feature on their overall gentle visage

Though between the two, and i’d argue this goes without saying, F is gentler. G is more intense, though both play between the two traits best compared to the others imo.

IIRC, there are requirements that need to be met before you can post images. Also, reach out to an admin with a sample of your NMS art and maybe you can start showing your work sooner.
