I know I'm a bit late with it, but yes this is legit. I have exported 3D models with this actually. But they don't work for Blender 4.1.0+ (at least on my device), since Blender had an OBJ import/export rewrite.

So I'm also stuck with modeling ships by hand lol

People are so talented. The thing about hello games is that for a bit they didnt focus on social media presence. everyone hated nms so they decided to not look at any comments etc and put their noses to the grindstone and give us amazing expansive updates/upgrades. i 3D printed this in 5 pieces and assembled it, now it looks amazing and i am proud of myself for it. i still need to put the LEDs inside, it was my very first experience with a 3d printer :)

It's been a while since I posted an idea, but here's another one...

Gas planets: these can be implemented as a new type of planet (obviously) and as a new source of resources. Let me explain, since they are gas planets, there obviously can't be flora or fauna, so they could be sources of gas resources and, to balance it and not break the game, you have to scan them to find out which specific points on the planet are the richest in gases and collect those gases with some tool on the ship.
