Two things I believe NMS does better than anyone...Asset management and community growth

Whether it's pushing updates to the game or inventing a whole new technology to make sure they keep pace with promise, the relentless commitment to developing assets for this project is absolutely unparalleled. While they have the added advantage of an impossibly large map for people to explore, they've shown a keen interest in the experiment of developing this project as more than just a game, but as a test bed for evaluating ideas in a living environment with immediate feedback.

The way NMS is designed is optimal for pulling feedback from players in such a way that it does not require a player to do more than "upload" their current game state to a server. The reward being the player gets their universe immortalized in a static formulaic mesh representing the digital universe, while Hello Games gets your experiences to inform them on ways to improve

That kind of constant feedback would be considered invasive in almost any other game.

They were like..."I told you everything I know!" after I said to them "Tell me what I want to know"....and they didn't say anything. Turns out it just updates my map and I shot that guy in the head for no reason.
